Plus on a Saturday night, when almost everything was closed like by 9ish, Nikko came to the rescue! Nikko is big and opens up to a stone water sculpture in their seated waiting area before it opens some more with the hibachi area on right partitioned from their regular dining area. Thank God- because I didn't want to smell like food. Maybe there's nothing unusual about this place but our meals were tasty and plentiful. I've become less of a salmon fan recently but between my perfectly cooked, super flavorful Salmon Teriyaki hooked with little potatoes and a nice mound of snow peas+ asparagus and hubs' surf & tuff with noodles, rice (yeah...carb on carb) and veggies, we left satisfied. I was in town for a business trip on 16JUN2024 and decided to try Nikko. I had edamame as my appetizer and their salad, both were good. For my entree, I had the teriyaki salmon and it was prepared very quickly. The salmon was crispy on the outside and tender inside and had the really good teriyaki sauce! Most importantly I wish they would update their Uber Eats menu description for the hibachi entrees to let people know that you will get both rice AND noodles because on UE it only says rice so I thought that the entree was different for delivery and very reluctantly shelled out another $14 for two small portions of hibachi noodles. Nikko's has a private room in the back with two hibachi tables facing each other! Sounds perfect, and it was in every way but one! It was an ice box In there..... absolutely freezing! I had a life-threatening experience here. Everything was going well at first. We went for the happy hour so we were seated by the bar. We were in the corner so it was nice and quiet until more people started filling in. They had a decent variety of items on their happy hour menu which was also nice. I really enjoyed their Piña Colada (though I wish the waiter didn't assume I was done. I still had a tiny bit left and he ended up taking it away before I was content). The rolls I had were good too overall, but I have a food allergy (wheat/gluten) and I was given the okay for some menu items that I should NOT have been okayed to order. I'm very grateful that they train their employees to ask about food allergies. It gave me a sense of reassurance in what I ordered. After telling the waiter about my food allergy, he confirmed that the rolls my friend and I ordered were okay (I was splitting specialty orders with my friend). Upon receiving the rolls, however, I noticed that my roll (Spicy Lover Roll) had what looked like tempura flakes inside. As a result I held off on eating it until we could ask the waiter if what I thought was true. I started with my friend's roll instead (Sweet Heart Roll). After eating a few pieces, I took a closer look and found tempura flakes inside that roll too! Finally the waiter had come over, so we ask if what we were seeing was indeed tempura flakes and he said, "Yes. Is that an issue?" with a confused look on his face. He also never apologized. I was baffled and stressed at the possibility that I might have an allergic reaction. Thankfully, I didn't (2 pieces was probably not a large enough amount to elicit a response) but had I eaten more it would've definitely been possible. I'm not writing this in hopes to have the waiter take responsibility, but if you're going to ask if a customer has food allergies and do nothing to with that information, that just gives the customer a sense of false reassurance and could lead to fatal consequences. While I fortunately did not have an allergic reaction, if I had not noticed those tempura flakes at all, the consequences could have been very serious. If a customer tells you they have a food allergy, the least you could do is confirm with the kitchen staff if the item they ordered is okay for them to eat. Even telling the customer that you're unsure would be better than providing false reassurance. I hope the staff is able to learn from this experience. read more

We needed a last minute family dinner destination for two kids (4 years old and 9 months old) and I figured a hibachi place would be entertaining, even if the older of my two kids didn't eat (super picky). Nikko had pretty solid reviews, so we trekked down county and tried our luck at a walk-in, figuring for a 5 or 5:30 meal we probably wouldn't need reservations. We were quickly accommodated at a nice, big hibachi table. The waitress was a little cold, but I can imagine in a restaurant like this, speed is of the essence, so she wasn't looking to build a rapport. Appetizers were quickly served after we placed that order. We had the tuna dumplings and the agedashi tofu. I didn't love the tuna dumplings, but they weren't bad. They just weren't what I was expecting. I didn't think the tuna would also be deep fried - I assumed it would be like crispy rice spicy tuna, but in a wonton rather than on crispy rice. Lesson learned. The agedashi tofu was delicious, though. Some of the best I've had, actually. For dinner, I had the vegetable hibachi, my husband had a chicken and shrimp combo, and then we ordered our son a side order of rice and noodles. It took a little while for the chef to come, which I think is because they wanted to fill out the table so he could cook for everyone at once. He was really delightful and made the night so special for my son. We asked for the fried rice to be just rice, but because there were other people at our table, that wasn't the case and they had egg in it, so our son would not touch it. The noodles were plain though, and he did eat those. I thought the vegetables were yummy and the noodles and rice were what you'd expect from hibachi. Overall, it was a great experience and my son loved the fanfare. We were in and out in less than two hours, and I think next time the only thing we'd change is that we'd bring a larger party so that we could get cooking sooner. read more

The staff rushed our orders and were placing the appetizers down while food was being cooked. The filet mignon was not cooked to order; the medium was served before the rare. The shrimp and lobster was left on the grill for over 14 min! It was charred. When repeatedly asking for service to slow down, they did not. They also took away salad and soup without permission. We needed to vocalize multiple times that we were not finished. Half of the party could not even eat because plates were being taken away during family conversation. I had spoken with the "manager" and she took off the lobster that was clearly burnt and thought that was an appropriate compensation. I wasn't going to pay for it regardless, my guests were not given the food they requested at the temperature requested. My son's birthday dinner was a disaster and we were not treated in a way that was respectful of customers. Uni is just one of those things that is absolutely amazing when it's good (aka: fresh!) and so beyond disgusting when it's been sitting around a few minutes too long. So, it's often a litmus test for me. The mackerel was quite good and I liked the salmon-avocado roll. The salmon skin roll didn't quite do it for me; it just wasn't as flavorful as other versions I've had. Yellowtail jalapeño roll was just OK. Was hoping for a spicy kick but the jalapeño just added a little bit of crunch. Ikura was decent. Salmon was also just OK. Green tea was a bit too mild - almost was like drinking hot water. Small sake was just hot enough and disappeared quickly. Service was good; they must have gone through a shift change since I arrived so early. I was starving since I hadn't eaten all day, so I hit Nikko on the early side. The young man that waited on me was nice enough, but a bit curt. Perhaps it's because he was getting ready to go home. The place is quite large and has hibachi tables in a different room. The music was oddly loud and mostly classic rock. I like classic rock, but it was a bit out of place. Nikko has literally been my lifesaver these past four years. I have consistently ordered take-out from it for 3 years until finally visiting the restaurant. The restaurant service was quick and amazing and our hibachi chef was so nice and funny. The restaurant is also quite spacious and has a really nice vibe and parking is quite easy since they have a parking lot. The food was amazing as well and also travels quite well as for the fact that I order mainly take out from Nikko. I highly recommend their fried rice, noodles, and sushi rolls. Also when ordering I recommend ordering direct as the price for the food is cheaper directly and delivery is free. I went to Nikko with a bunch of friends for hibachi the other night and it was great! The service was awesome and the food was delicious. I also frequent Nikko for takeout and it is equally as good at the hibachi. There were 8 people in my party and we were seating and served right away. When ordering takeout, the food is almost always ready upon arrival. I ordered the hibachi chicken which was $20. Normally I think if hibachi as expensive but you get so much food for the 20 dollars. I got noodle, fried rice, vegetables, salad, soup, and chicken. For takeout, I usually get yaki udon with chicken which is just so good! The hibachi experience is also just so good! The chef was so funny and engaging. It was a perfect place to go with an group of friends. The only negative was that our shirley temples were made with seltzer water at the beginning and they tasted pretty bad. We did, however, tell them about it and they remade our drinks with sprite and they were so tasty!! This is my go-to japanese restaurant and it should be yours too!! read more
