Update - 01/2023 So, since my last review, the place has been renovated and the sushi quality has really improved. The birthday picture wall is gone. Sad, but the place looks so much better. It has a cool new vibe with colored LED lighting throughout. The place feels newer, cleaner, and more modern. The hibachi still tastes great and now this is a "go to" sushi place for us where more advanced sushi, like toro and Ikura, are recommended. There is also outdoor seating, which is nice. Parking is still in back if you don't find a place in front on the street. On weekends and holidays, the place can get busy at peak times, especially at the hibachis, so make reservations. They also have an online app for ordering if you prefer delivery or pickup. Service is always friendly and accommodating. Remember to tip well.

Sushi Sashimi Deluxe

Update we've been ordering during Covid and the sushi is excellent. 4 stars. The service is good and the price is good. We have ordered about three times and have not been disappointed. I gave them another star. So good. Old review giving Samurai 3 stars, but all I had was the hibachi. I'll try the sushi and if it's good bill give them another star. Our friend had a party there and the service was great. The hibachi was good, and the chef put on a good show. They were very accommodating. You get a good amount of food for your money, and the prices are not terrible for sushi and Hibachi.

Order trough yelp and who know how much they charge the restaurant

Delicious sushi appetizer portions though are smaller than in past and it's more expensive. Haven't had a meal there in a while just getting usual honey moon appetizer which is always good sushi on the other hand is hit or miss so I rather not to miss and stick with what I know. Just know that if u order on yelp it's even more expensive, there is extra fee on customer and the restaurant. They adding it without letting the customers know, quite disappointed with yelp for being not transparent with they fees. 3 stars for samurai 1 for yelp

This place was a perfect stop for lunch. They have set up an inviting outdoor dining area, shaded and not. We were warmly greeted by our waitress. We ordered a refreshing cold Saki to start our meal. I ordered the sashimi lunch which comes with soup, salad and one additional roll of your choice off lunch menu, got my fav tempura shrimp roll. My husband ordered the two roll lunch which also comes with soup and salad. He ordered a spicy tuna and eel avocado rolls! Everything was great! We had only had hibachi in the past , tables are not open yet, but truly enjoyed our outdoor lunch, will be back!

Great sushi spot! Less expensive than Asagao up the street and the quality of the fish is pretty good. I've dined in once and the service was great, and the staff are always very friendly and efficient every time I come grab a takeout order. It has a basic sushi restaurant vibe, not huge on the inside but nice enough. It's a bit dark inside but honestly no complaints!

I came on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch and enjoy the feel of this restaurant. The presentation was beautiful and the fish was very fresh. If I am ever in this area again, I will come back.

The hibachi experience was good but the food was great. Such big portions too! Had the filet mignon and it was so tender, like butter!

I really wish that I could add more than 5 stars because I had an incredible dining experience here…read moreover the weekend. I came here with my family for a menu tasting since in the near future, we're renting out the restaurant for my grandfather's 90th birthday soon. The appetizers we tried included the ocean house fish soup with white beans & tomato, oysters, grilled calamari, and the Prince Edward Island Mussels with Millie's Thai Curry. We also tried the Greek Salad, the seared whole branzino with wild rice, the shrimp cassoulet, the Maine crab cakes with coleslaw, and the scallops. I would also maybe recommend adding a gluten-free option to the dessert menu, but I still got to try the top of the key lime pie, which was also amazing. We also ordered the bread pudding, and although I wasn't able to try that on the menu, I'm sure it was delicious. I also tried the rose, which was pretty good considering rose isn't my classic favorite, but it won me over, which doesn't surprise me given how amazing the overall experience was. I really have to say that in art and in food you can really taste, see, and feel the love and passion people put into their work. Some of the chef's recipes he's been working on for around thirty years. You can feel the relationship he has with his food and his passion for cooking through every sense in the body, when you taste the items on his carefully designed menu. I am beyond impressed with my experience starting from the second I entered the restaurant. I am really looking forward to coming back in the next month for the big event. I also want to give a shoutout to Paula who was our hostess and co-owner with her husband who is the chef. This beautifully run family business have reached beyond expectation with ambiance, zest, and a taste for real passionate cooking.

We still kept the Sushi Sandwich, Eel Avocado Roll, Mango Hawaii Roll, and the Pink Lady Roll, all of which have been consistently unbelievable. However, we also swapped in some substitutes for the other rolls. First, we included a Yellowtail Scallion Roll, which was a bit small, but delicious. Then, we also incorporated the Shrimp Hibachi, which came with white rice and a clear soup. The broth had a lot of flavor and contained fragrant mushrooms. The hibachi dish had a load of fresh vegetables (carrots, broccoli, zucchini, onions, and mushrooms) and a generous portion of grilled shrimp that were cooked through to the perfect plumb bites. The sauce was lighter than a teriyaki would have been, which was what we were hoping for. Yet again, it was another excellent curation of menu items. Raku has provided some of the best of Japanese food we have ever tasted! The place is a gem!

Staff were friendly, and ordered drinks and appetizers within the first few minutes. We ordered the edamame, and gyoza. Gyoza were good, pork and good sauce to go with. Edamame... keep reading. For drinks we had some Tsing Tao, light Chinese beer and the Plum Wine. Plum wine was sweet and smooth, just enough to make you forget its alcohol. My edamame did not come out at all before the other appetizers, drinks and the mains already arrived, so I had to cancel it so that they would not charge me. For the mains we had the Aburi Salmon Roll, mix of spicy roll combo, some California rolls, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Sashimi Deluxe, Grilled Shrimp Salad, and the Thai Yellow Coconut Curry. Rolls were all made well, tasty, I would order from here for my lunch time rolls. The Shrimp Tempura had a nice crunchy so you know it was just recently made and was not sitting. the sear on the Aburi Salmon was just right with a touch of a light mayo spicy sauce. Thai Coconut curry was "not too great" by my friends standards but still enjoyable. Sashimi deluxe, items were fresh, slightly chilled and came in a giant bowl in a bed of ice. It was the right temperature and would not have wanted my sashimi any other way. Too much food to have dessert, but will try to cut done on entrees to try dessert next time. Would recommend and was my first time there, would have like some edamame with my beer but will definitely stop by again.
