My favorite sushi spot! I've tried so many places in the area, but this one always comes out on top. They have a great variety, but the spicy tuna roll is my go-to. A very happy circumstance, we happened to be in the area during dinner time and thanks to the Yelp family we found this fantastic restaurant. The sushi was fresh and delicious, the spicy tuna sashimi was outstanding, we are picky as well. The miso soup is homemade and very tasty. We ordered the chicken teriyaki, the box was huge, everything was delicious and he had leftovers for lunch. I really enjoyed my tonkatsu ramen. The service was super friendly and attentive. We stopped in on a weekday at lunchtime and were able to sit at one of two tables available. Our lunch choices were the Poke Bowl ($12.95) and the Sushi/Sashimi Combo ($15.95) lunch special, which came with a miso soup and salad. The fish for both was fresh and a good portion. The salad was hastily tossed into a styrofoam plate but actually was tastier than the presentation would suggest. The interior was very clean and the sushi chef/server was very kind and appreciative. Usually I order take away and it's always worth the wait. I live approximately 40 minutes north of Stony Point and will drive down from Beacon. With all the local food joints here in Beacon, there is only sub par sushi. This guy is friendly, focused and talented. Product is always fresh. We placed a large order from here last night (on a Saturday evening) for dinner. While it did take quite some time to get our order, the sushi chef in there is working alone, the people working here were incredibly kind. Despite having a large order with multiple substitutions/alterations, everything was made as we ordered & accounted for. All of our food was fresh, tasty & portion sizes were very generous. Love this place! We use to go to Hanabi frequently before it closed and since it closed we had no where to get good sushi in north rockland. I used to love the previous Restaraunt that was at this location, hanabi and I don't love any sushi restaurants in North Rockland since Hanabi closed, so I figured let me give Min a try. The newly renovated interior gives a new breathe of life into the restaurant. Min himself was the sushi chef. He is very nice and hospitable. I had the miso soup which was great. I also had 2 rolls. Spicy Tuna and Spicy Yellowtail. Mins rice is some of the best I've ever had. He also gave me 2 pieces of fatty salmon with cured jalapeño. For a small business to have such a piss poor attitude and totally disregard for it's paying customer like the owner did last night is unbelievable!!!! We ordered 12 rolls and a sashimi plate which we know is a lot of stuff for one order and we're told it would be 1 hr...well tact on another hr for it...we were tired of waiting for our food so we went out to go grab it and it was just sitting on the counter. The owner could careless that it took so long and even questioned us sarcastically "is there a problem" when we showed concern about the wait for the food. We had two people in our group allergic to avocado so naturally they ordered rolls from the menu without avocado in the description, and sure enough all the rolls they ordered were stuffed with avocado. When we called back to tell them this, the owner said what can I do to fix this we suggested you make new rolls and deliver them to us...he said without hesitation "I ran out of rice sorry". So to say I was totally disappointed in MIN SUSHI is an understatement and it sucks because they have good sushi, good lunch specials, and the only sushi joint in town but this will be my last time spending my hard earned cash in this establishment ever again. I'll waste the gas to go else where. And this isn't the first time we had a way longer wait then what we were told it would be. So hope you're happy MIN SUSHI you lost about 12 paying customers for the lack customer service you displayed last night. Everything Ive ordered and eaten from Min sushi is distinctively excellent. Great sushi, yes...BUT....what sets this place apart is the skill of their preparation and attention to flavors. THE BEST Poke bowl Ive ever had and I ate them weekly in midtown NYC. Perfectly combined and prepared with just enough spice. Everything tastes so fresh. The Korean specialties (Korean Ramen, Bim Bim Bap) are outstanding, authentic and the meat and vegetables included are, again, distinctively great. Just ordered 12 rolls and a sashimi platter. The order took over 2 hours. When we showed up and expressed our upset over the 2 hour wait the owner could care less, when we were quoted 1 hour. When we received the order the Philly roll and spicy tuna contained avocado which is not stated on the menu and never usually contains avocado. The 2 people who ordered these rolls are allergic to avocado. We once again called, the owner said how can I make this right but didn't offer any suggestions. When we said the rolls should be remade without avocado he actually said he can't because he ran out of rice. This is unbelievable, were a small community min sushi really needs to take care of their patrons. This isn't the first time the order took so long but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them a second chance. We will not be ordering from here ever again. Hopefully no one with an allergy has a serious reaction. read more
