Food was great and the service was ultra fast (almost like they were trying to get us out of there - it wasn't busy at all). We had fried gyoza and a seaweed salad to start. Both came out instantly. We ordered a pink lady roll, fantastic roll (my fav), and a trio roll. All of them were great.

Best sushi in town! Love the tables in the windows for a little privacy. Service is quick and no fuss. Must try: crispy rice!!!

Good sushi for it being outside NYC, but definitely needs that qualifier. The kaisen chirashi lunch set was very pretty with all the little bowls. Most of the fish was good, but octopus was too chewy and flavorless and herring (or whatever it was) flavor was too strong, wish they didn't include that one. My mom enjoyed her shrimp tempura roll but thought the California roll was only okay, not too different from supermarket sushi. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, wish she would have described what fish is in each bowl though as that's usually part of a"chef's choice" experience. Wheelchair access: there are a few accessible tables on the sidewalk for outdoor dining, entrance is barrier-free. Not sure about restroom.

10/10 sushi for two amazing!! Fresh, flavorful, and flawless! best sushi girls night we've ever had! 10/10 recommend!

Top: 2 Crispy rice, bottom left: 1 dinosaur roll, bottom right: 1 spicy girl roll

Simply elegant. I recommend the dinosaur roll, and ask for extra eel sauce. Quick service. Pleasant ambiance for the evening any day. Plus they are open on Monday too.

This is by far the easiest 5 stars I could give to a restaurant. I'm so happy I drove passed this place and decided to stop because I was initially heading somewhere else! I would have been deprived of the best sushi you are going to find in Rockland County- and as a self proclaimed foodie- I can confidently say that. The atmosphere is beautiful- very zen. Extremely well designed. Beyond that, the staff was so attentive- even on a busy night. The fish tastes fresh every time ( I've been back 4 times since I first went) ! The crispy rice is my favorite item on the menu (so far) - its the perfect bite with just the right amount of everything! Chefs kiss... The Hawaiian mango roll was light and refreshing and the salad dressing is really addicting! I don't think I can translate into words just how much I enjoy this place! I rave about this place to everyone and I think they deserve to have a waitlist every night because it's really is just that good. You can tell they really care about their reputation because every plate is served with love- you can taste it.

I'm not sure why I didn't like this place when I first came here, but when I went the second time I had a much better experience. The food here is fantastic, the sushi is of high quality and the service was quick. The restaurant was about half full. My daughter had the gyoza and avocado rolls, which were fair, and I had the Crispy rice with spicy tuna and the Kaisan Chirashi. The Kaisan Chirashi was spectacular.

Came here for a belated 25th anniversary dinner. Cute and clean restaurant and the service is excellent. Enjoyed the quality of fish, similar to NYC omakase, but not nearly as expensive! They try and accommodate gluten free as much as they can. We got the soft shell crab for my husband, it was good but he prefers a lighter batter, it was too much for him and the mango sauce alittle on the sweet side. He also got the sashimi set and I got the fun chirashi in a box. Unfortunately only had the finished product to share.... Definitely recommend Raku!

Couldn't be happier that Raku Sushi has opened in Nyack on Hudson. The new decor and experienced staff are both welcoming & warm. Our Sushi Chef, Mark gave us the grand tour of their Uber-fresh selection of fish at the bar, and then prepared everything he touched with love and skill. Our server, Simon smartly recommended that Chef Mark assemble the Kaisen Chirashi box whose beauty was only surpassed by the flavors represented. The Miso Soup was light and chock full of scallions and seaweed. One of Mary's favs is Agedashi Tofu-Raku passed her taste test with flying colors. The folks at Raku get it. Nyackers want fresh, delectable, ambrosial and tasty sushi in a place where service reigns supreme. Welcome to Nyack, Raku Sushi!! The best review is, that we'll be back and back.

While I do love the duck breast and lamb chops included with the Classic package, we all felt Essentials was enough for this visit. Celia was our waitress. While things were a little slow getting started, once our first order went in, the food started flying out. Everything we ordered throughout the evening arrived much faster than it did on my previous visit. The menu makes it sound like they'll throttle you to only a couple of items at a time, but that really wasn't our experience. We were consistently able to order several items per person, so there was always something on the grill, more food on the way, and plenty to keep us chomping away. Our favorites this time? The top blade, brisket, hanger steak, pork belly, and even the salmon ceviche, which was surprisingly refreshing between rounds of grilled meat. We did have a couple of hiccups, but Celia was eager to make things right. After we received the wrong shrimp twice, she took it upon herself to get the manager involved. They tracked down the correct shrimp and brought it out. Thanks! Speaking of the manager, Andy was terrific. After another unpleasantry at our table, he came over and sincerely apologized several times. It was obvious he genuinely wanted to make things right. After we took a quick selfie together, he got us with a few complimentary cocktails. I have to say, anything here with cucumber in it is delicious here. Super refreshing. By the end of the meal, my son was a fluent griller and even said he liked Gyuzo more than the other all-you-can-eat BBQ places we've visited. That's about as good an endorsement as I can give. We'll certainly be back.

Unfortunately, we never even got to eat at the restaurant because of how disorganized the front desk was. We were quoted a 35-45 minute wait and were told to join the Yelp waitlist. We stood nearby the entire time waiting to be called. We never received any notification on our phones, and when we checked the app, our status had somehow changed from "waiting" to "cancelled." When we spoke with the hostess, she apologized and told us to wait because she would seat us next. Instead, we watched four other parties get seated before us. After waiting even longer, we went back to ask what was happening, only to be told it would be another 15-20 minutes. From what we observed, it also seemed like the restaurant was prioritizing seating larger parties over smaller ones. I can't say for certain whether that was their policy, but that's certainly how it appeared from our experience as multiple larger groups were seated while we continued to wait despite being told we were next. I completely understand that popular restaurants get busy, and I have no issue waiting my turn. What I do have an issue with is poor communication and disorganization from the hostess team. Mistakes happen, but telling customers they'll be seated next and then repeatedly seating other parties first is unacceptable. To make matters worse, this was our second night this weekend trying to eat here, and once again we left without ever getting a table. Despite the inconvenience and poor experience, no one offered an apology beyond a brief acknowledgment, nor was there any attempt to make things right or show goodwill for the time we had wasted. The food may be excellent, but we'll never know because the front-of-house experience was so poorly managed. A great restaurant starts with good customer service, and unfortunately, the hostess team left a very poor first impression. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.

We had our dogs so we were seated outside. The service was good, but a little slow. The desert took forever to come out (though we put it through with like 3 different staff) so the restaurant comped it at the end, which we appreciated. The scallop salad was just okay, and it had bacon in it, which was a bit off-putting. The pizza Margherita was fresh and I really enjoyed my harvest autumn salad with a very recent amount of grilled gulf shrimp for protein. YUM. Highly recommend the Goat (Cheese) Brûlée. The hostess asked if we had a reservation, I answered honestly that I didn't know because my cousin had invited us and they weren't there yet. She said "party of 7"? I said yes and we were escorted inside. As we were being seated, I asked to confirm that the table we were led to was under my cousin's name. Hostess confirms yes. My cousin has a very distinct name. I think, ok great. Our waiter takes our drink orders, the rest of my party arrives and are seated. Turns out, my cousin did *not* make a reservation (honest miscommunication with me) as we learned when the hostess returned and told us we now had to leave. I fully own that we didn't have a reservation and they were booked up, but the way this was handled was strange. No apology, no grace, just "you have to leave." I got up, found the hostess in the front, honestly apologized again for the confusion and asked if we could be moved anywhere. I was told they were fully booked and didn't have a table until 2 hours later. Ok, I get it, but we shouldn't have been seated at all then. This was one of the weirdest experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. I emailed the manager privately about this the day after it happened, but didn't get a reply. Will not return and will not recommend this place to others. No idea what to rate the food (menu looked nice but expensive) since we didn't get to order food. Hope they figure this out and that the restaurant does better in the future.
