10/10 sushi for two amazing!! Fresh, flavorful, and flawless! best sushi girls night we've ever had! 10/10 recommend!

Top: 2 Crispy rice, bottom left: 1 dinosaur roll, bottom right: 1 spicy girl roll

Simply elegant. I recommend the dinosaur roll, and ask for extra eel sauce. Quick service. Pleasant ambiance for the evening any day. Plus they are open on Monday too.

Good sushi for it being outside NYC, but definitely needs that qualifier. The kaisen chirashi lunch set was very pretty with all the little bowls. Most of the fish was good, but octopus was too chewy and flavorless and herring (or whatever it was) flavor was too strong, wish they didn't include that one. My mom enjoyed her shrimp tempura roll but thought the California roll was only okay, not too different from supermarket sushi. Our waitress was very nice and attentive, wish she would have described what fish is in each bowl though as that's usually part of a"chef's choice" experience. Wheelchair access: there are a few accessible tables on the sidewalk for outdoor dining, entrance is barrier-free. Not sure about restroom.

This is by far the easiest 5 stars I could give to a restaurant. I'm so happy I drove passed this place and decided to stop because I was initially heading somewhere else! I would have been deprived of the best sushi you are going to find in Rockland County- and as a self proclaimed foodie- I can confidently say that. The atmosphere is beautiful- very zen. Extremely well designed. Beyond that, the staff was so attentive- even on a busy night. The fish tastes fresh every time ( I've been back 4 times since I first went) ! The crispy rice is my favorite item on the menu (so far) - its the perfect bite with just the right amount of everything! Chefs kiss... The Hawaiian mango roll was light and refreshing and the salad dressing is really addicting! I don't think I can translate into words just how much I enjoy this place! I rave about this place to everyone and I think they deserve to have a waitlist every night because it's really is just that good. You can tell they really care about their reputation because every plate is served with love- you can taste it.

I'm not sure why I didn't like this place when I first came here, but when I went the second time I had a much better experience. The food here is fantastic, the sushi is of high quality and the service was quick. The restaurant was about half full. My daughter had the gyoza and avocado rolls, which were fair, and I had the Crispy rice with spicy tuna and the Kaisan Chirashi. The Kaisan Chirashi was spectacular.

Came here for a belated 25th anniversary dinner. Cute and clean restaurant and the service is excellent. Enjoyed the quality of fish, similar to NYC omakase, but not nearly as expensive! They try and accommodate gluten free as much as they can. We got the soft shell crab for my husband, it was good but he prefers a lighter batter, it was too much for him and the mango sauce alittle on the sweet side. He also got the sashimi set and I got the fun chirashi in a box. Unfortunately only had the finished product to share.... Definitely recommend Raku!

Couldn't be happier that Raku Sushi has opened in Nyack on Hudson. The new decor and experienced staff are both welcoming & warm. Our Sushi Chef, Mark gave us the grand tour of their Uber-fresh selection of fish at the bar, and then prepared everything he touched with love and skill. Our server, Simon smartly recommended that Chef Mark assemble the Kaisen Chirashi box whose beauty was only surpassed by the flavors represented. The Miso Soup was light and chock full of scallions and seaweed. One of Mary's favs is Agedashi Tofu-Raku passed her taste test with flying colors. The folks at Raku get it. Nyackers want fresh, delectable, ambrosial and tasty sushi in a place where service reigns supreme. Welcome to Nyack, Raku Sushi!! The best review is, that we'll be back and back.

My sister and parents want some place healthy and this place is highly recommended. We came in then we sat immediately, not that much people but a lot were calling for a to go order! It's called ginger lemon honey, you can taste the bits and pieces of all the ingredients, so you know it's not just those little packets of teas! I've visited numerous times and have recommended it to others. Unfortunately, my experience on Saturday, 2/21, was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had, and it completely ruined my 30th birthday dinner. On 2/9, my actual birthday, I dined there with my brother. The manager at the hostess stand informed me that for parties of four or more, the birthday guest eats free as part of their all-you-can-eat promotion. I was told very clearly that I had up to two weeks from my birthday to redeem the offer. Because I enjoyed my experience that day so much, I made plans to return within that timeframe with the required number of guests. On 2/21, I returned with a party of four, followed the instructions given to me, and informed our server that it was my birthday celebration. He acknowledged the promotion and stated he would simply need to check my ID after we finished dining. At no point prior to us eating was there any mention of a "7-day before and 7-day after" rule. This restriction is not listed on the advertisement, not on the menu, and was never communicated to me previously. After we finished our meal is when everything went completely left. The server returned and informed us that the manager on duty would not honor the promotion because it was supposedly limited to 7 days after the birthday. The manager struggled to communicate clearly and insisted this was the rule. I explained that I was told two weeks by prior management and that I returned specifically within that timeframe, bringing the required number of guests. I simply asked that they honor what I had been told. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, I was handed a phone to speak to the owner, Andy. The conversation was shocking. He was rude, condescending, and argumentative. I was told I had "misheard," that they would not change rules "for me," and was even threatened with police involvement if I did not pay the bill. Being spoken to in that manner, in front of my guests, over a promotion that was not clearly advertised, was humiliating and deeply upsetting. After nearly 30 minutes of back-and-forth, the manager ultimately applied the discount anyway. Even with the birthday special applied, our bill still came to nearly $230 before tip, as we ordered multiple rounds of drinks in addition to the $39.90 per person all-you-can-eat. This entire confrontation was over approximately $40. The food at Gyuzo is good. However, management's handling of this situation overshadowed everything. I was made to feel dishonest for simply following the instructions given to me. What was meant to be a joyful 30th birthday celebration turned into an argument and public embarrassment. There was no dessert celebration, no acknowledgment, just tension and frustration. As someone who has worked in hospitality, I understand policies matter. But so does accountability, clarity in advertising, and basic respect when resolving misunderstandings. This situation was mishandled from start to finish. It is extremely disappointing to support a business from its early days, return within the timeframe given by management, and be treated in such a dismissive and hostile manner. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be returning.

The menu looked amazing and we're excited but we're worried we weren't dressed appropriately, Caroline insured us we woke fit in just fine. I personally love to dine at the bar when possible especially with a great bartender like Izzy. We were the first ones there by accident which can feel funny but Izzy was so warm and welcoming and very eager to meet us and tell us about the epic menu and the show stopping desserts. We told Izzy our drink preferences and he nailed it each drink. We started with a dozen oysters that were incredible and shocked perfectly. Then followed that with the bone marrow which had a tasteful amount of chimichurri sauce and a side of crunchy salt to use for your liking. It was delicious! We were temped to next get the octopus but needed room for the "bar only specials" which is a brilliant idea very unique. It was a wagu blend cheese burger with arugula and a delicious black garlic spread and perfectly cooked fries. Perfect for sharing! A dinner isn't complete without an espresso martini! I highly recommend this place to any food enthusiast and fan of wine, spirits and excellent desserts. Lastly the decor was also amazing. The chef's not only designs top notch desserts he also did the wood work art along the bar. I also loved the pictures of all the people in the back of the restaurant over the course of there decades of business. Lastly the history is incredible it use to be the village hall and jailhouse! They incorporated the jail into a wine cellar that seats two people for a fun drink before or after dinner. Highly give this place a 10 out of 10 for excellent food, drink, service and vibes! Sorry, I mean the Cuomo bridge, lol. We went on a Thursday evening, and it was pretty empty. There were several high tops with a bridge view right next to the door. Can you say brrrrr? In hindsight the best bet is to sit at the bar for your meal as then both can enjoy the view of the Hudson as sitting at the high tops offers only one person to enjoy the view while the others back is at the window. Service: Very attentive. We decided to eat in their dining room which is small, but warm. Think maybe 20 to 25 people with no view as it is in the back of the restaurant. Our waiter made sure that we had our drinks and water. Food Appetizers: We started with a combination of oysters from both the west and east coast. Both were very fresh and were excellent with the accompanying mignonette and cocktail sauce served over a platter of crushed ice. Throw in a lobster cocktail and life was good! Main Courses: My wife ordered the PEI Mussels. Being the great Italian chef that she is, I consider her the expert on tomato based seafood. She gave both the mussels and broth a two thumbs up. Throw in their house made warm salted pizza dough bread and you are good to go to soak up the luscious broth. The double stack burger... Sorry, but just OK It was overdone and pretty dry. I was psyched for the accompanying homemade pickles as stated in the menu, which turned out to be a single quarter spear of a possible Vlasic supermarket pickle. Nothing you would put on a burger. Fries? Nothing to write home about. Final conclusion: I am sure this place is absolutely nuts during the summer due to the view. Service was great. Seafood good and the burger? Meh.
