    Veggie soft tofu stew
    Hannah W.

For years we've always driven miles for Korean food, while in actuality the best Korean eatery is right around the corner! We were greeted by a young waitress who seated us and delivered food to us, but the bulk of the service came from the owner, a super friendly, super enthusiastic and super attentive Korean Imo :-). It's a popular place, with full tables and lots of take-outs. I ordered the Veggie Soft Tofu stew and my husband asked for their winter signature specialty: Sam Gye Tang, Ginseng Chicken Broth. He loves this dish, but this time his experience was brought to a new level by the Imo, who gave him authoritative and hands-on instructions on how to consume it properly. She even took it as her duty to put the transparent gloves on his hands! When she saw that we loved the house-made, very spicy, kimchi, she made sure that our table was never short of its supply. The soft tofu stew was the best I'd ever had (and I've had lots of it in many Korean restaurants): it was full of delicious ingredients, esp. generous helpings of enoki mushroom and king trumpet mushroom, and the flavoring was superb. Imo was very happy that we finished every single morsel of her food. We'll definitely come back for more!

Very pleased - food and service here are great. Correct me if I'm wrong.. but this is Korean restaurant that happens to also have great sushi options? Good deal! I had fried dumplings that were top notch, followed by Kimchi Udon. Damn that was good! Spicy too! Will definitely return!

We got takeout from here and it was great! I ordered online & it said it would be ready in 40 mins, but we arrived after 20mins & everything was ready. Everything was so thoughtfully packaged too. We got the Christmas roll, matrix roll, Cali roll, spicy tuna roll & chicken fried rice. Our favorite was the Christmas roll. The fried rice was a little under-seasoned, it was still good, I just don't normally add soy sauce & I feel like it needed it. There were big chunks of chicken too, it looked like thigh meat, the quality was good too it wasn't your typical foamy mystery meat that sometimes comes in fried rice. We were also pleasantly surprised by the Korean pickled/marinated veggie sides they included. Also, our fried rice came with miso soup which was very good. Too much food for 2 people (not a bad thing!), they even gave us 3 chopsticks & plastic ware probably assuming this was for more people. Lol. We'll definitely be back!

    Bibimbap. Sooooo good

Sushi and Kimchi is a fairly new gem in this town. It is located in a strip mall with lots of parking. The service was excellent and our server was very attentive to our needs. The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome and comfortable. My family and I came here on a Sunday night for dinner and we had a great time. They had a great selection of cold sake and beers. We also got a few orders or their hot sake. We got the assorted sashimi platter and sushi special for a group of 5 and were pretty full. They gave us free edamame and homemade dumplings on the house. They also gave us Korean side dishes such as kimchi and fish cakes. Their sushi was fresh and good portions. Aside from the sushi, I enjoyed their Korean spicy beef soup and bibimbap. I will definitely be back for their Korean dishes and to try their special rolls.

    So many sides!

We had been there been there before but we got take out today . The owner was so nice and quickly got our order in. Our order came with all the sides as you would get for dine in. We love this place for so many things! I love the fact they have Korean and Japanese on their menu. I got avocado rolls which never disappoint. I got the soon tofu soup which was full of flavors. Despite its spiciness it was banging . My husband had a bunch of rolls which were served with a beautiful orchid.

While I do love the duck breast and lamb chops included with the Classic package, we all felt Essentials was enough for this visit. Celia was our waitress. While things were a little slow getting started, once our first order went in, the food started flying out. Everything we ordered throughout the evening arrived much faster than it did on my previous visit. The menu makes it sound like they'll throttle you to only a couple of items at a time, but that really wasn't our experience. We were consistently able to order several items per person, so there was always something on the grill, more food on the way, and plenty to keep us chomping away. Our favorites this time? The top blade, brisket, hanger steak, pork belly, and even the salmon ceviche, which was surprisingly refreshing between rounds of grilled meat. We did have a couple of hiccups, but Celia was eager to make things right. After we received the wrong shrimp twice, she took it upon herself to get the manager involved. They tracked down the correct shrimp and brought it out. Thanks! Speaking of the manager, Andy was terrific. After another unpleasantry at our table, he came over and sincerely apologized several times. It was obvious he genuinely wanted to make things right. After we took a quick selfie together, he got us with a few complimentary cocktails. I have to say, anything here with cucumber in it is delicious here. Super refreshing. By the end of the meal, my son was a fluent griller and even said he liked Gyuzo more than the other all-you-can-eat BBQ places we've visited. That's about as good an endorsement as I can give. We'll certainly be back.

Unfortunately, we never even got to eat at the restaurant because of how disorganized the front desk was. We were quoted a 35-45 minute wait and were told to join the Yelp waitlist. We stood nearby the entire time waiting to be called. We never received any notification on our phones, and when we checked the app, our status had somehow changed from "waiting" to "cancelled." When we spoke with the hostess, she apologized and told us to wait because she would seat us next. Instead, we watched four other parties get seated before us. After waiting even longer, we went back to ask what was happening, only to be told it would be another 15-20 minutes. From what we observed, it also seemed like the restaurant was prioritizing seating larger parties over smaller ones. I can't say for certain whether that was their policy, but that's certainly how it appeared from our experience as multiple larger groups were seated while we continued to wait despite being told we were next. I completely understand that popular restaurants get busy, and I have no issue waiting my turn. What I do have an issue with is poor communication and disorganization from the hostess team. Mistakes happen, but telling customers they'll be seated next and then repeatedly seating other parties first is unacceptable. To make matters worse, this was our second night this weekend trying to eat here, and once again we left without ever getting a table. Despite the inconvenience and poor experience, no one offered an apology beyond a brief acknowledgment, nor was there any attempt to make things right or show goodwill for the time we had wasted. The food may be excellent, but we'll never know because the front-of-house experience was so poorly managed. A great restaurant starts with good customer service, and unfortunately, the hostess team left a very poor first impression. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant.

While we usually head to the popular area of Palisades Park when craving Korean food, this seemed like a decent option for the northern area we were in. Upon arrival you seem some funky things like italian style decor, checkered table cloths, and a kind of disjoined dining room area. We were seated quickly and served our banchan which I thought was a good selection of vegetables and other commonly mixed side dishes. Service was prompt and throughout our meal we were served by a few different wait staff that cohesively worked together. We order two different dishes (one combo) and one soup and both were very underwhelming. Our pork ribs were overly sweet and lacked that marinated flavor and our soups were not what we were expecting. The jamjatang tasted very bland and wasn't the typical Korean potato soup you expect which is more like a stew, with potatoes, and pork bones. This place seems like it would be more suited for an older crowd that is not looking for salty soups and have limited access to other Korean food options. Given the price of the soups and combos around $15-$18 we were pretty disappointed and agreed we probably would not be back.

We most enjoyed the chicken empanadas (generous filling, good flavor), cod tacos, and vegetarian spring rolls. I don't know why I was surprised to discover this was in a strip mall, but that's on me. A nice one, at least. The place was relatively busy but we were able to secure a table easily with zero wait time. Pleasant vibes inside. I don't mean this as an insult at all but I was expecting more ethnic decor in line with the restaurant's menu - instead, it's pretty Americanized and feels like a classic suburban NJ establishment. I liked the painted brick on the lefthand side that has Blue Spice's logo/sign on it; spiffy. The bathroom was also a high point, which is...not something I say often. It was very clean and smelled nice, and I liked the dark cruise-ship lighting vibe. We decided to split the scallion pancake app, which was an excellent decision. I work in the city and regularly have this item from a place in Chinatown, and I honestly thought this was better, mostly because it was thicker/denser than what I'm used to. Super tasty and would get that again in a heartbeat. Giant portion as well - we split the pancake, which was roughly the size of a small pizza. My chum had leftovers there, I did not; so it goes with us. I've had a few mediocre chicken katsu experiences of late, so this seemed like a chance for redemption. I ordered the Akiko Curry entree, which was their spin on chicken katsu curry. Honestly wasn't my favorite. Again, a HUGE portion here and was only able to finish about 60% of it despite having a pretty legit appetite coming in. And the presentation value is excellent as well, as far as that goes. This could easily just be a personal palate preference, but I wasn't crazy about the curry itself (which had a weird tang to it) and didn't resemble the standard curry I'm used to with this dish. Also, as you can see from the attached, the curry is basically on the side of the dish, separated from the chicken and rice. Because of that, the chicken is on the dry side, which is my primary beef (pun?) with the item to begin with. So a miss for me, but I could see why other people would like this (and apparently do). The service was excellent, full stop. Our waitress was very nice and personable; she had strong command of the menu and you could see her consistently engaging with other patrons throughout our meal as well. She took several group photos so this is apparently a Kingdom of Sussex hot spot for that, which I wouldn't have guessed. She was so good both of us remarked on it multiple times during the meal, which is a rarity. But a great example of hospitality markedly improving an experience and making what was already an overall positive situation that much better. Huge marks there. Would definitely come back but would explore other parts of the menu once I feasted on the scallion pancake.
