This is our go-to place for a quick and quality sushi dinner. Like tonight, when we had not time to cook after having a broken oven replaced. We ordered 4 appetizers: spicy seaweed salad, vegetable gyoza, pork gyoza and vegetable tempura; our main dishes comprised of vegetable roll combo and pyogo roll for the 2 herbivores, cocktail roll and unagi roll for the 2 carnivores, plus Bento Box B (Bulgogi, shrimp & vegetable tempura, shumai, and California roll). Since this is a Korean run establishment, you are guaranteed proper spiciness for anything marked spicy, and authentic Bulgogi. It was a lot of food, but all was consumed with gusto. Everything tasted excellent and satisfying - hard to believe that one could get so stuffed on little nubs of sushi rolls :-). The restaurant itself is very small; it used to be take-out only. We ate there once right after they expanded to include a small dine-in space. Stopped by for lunch on our way back from Bear Mt. on a 80 degree day in October! We picked up - Shrimp tempura : Luke warm, not so crunchy, overall okay. Spicy tuna - tuna tasted like potatoe? Salmon Avacado - good amount of tasty salmon & fresh Avacado Butter Wasabi - crunchy, bit sweet, and zesty from Wasabi. Best from the rest All rolls had just the right amount of rice, their soy sauce might be too salty for what you're used to, and the overall texture of the rolls were on the chewy side. With the reviews being so good I had to try this place. Ok, my new favorite sushi place of all time.... My 4 rolls were absolutely perfect! Each chosen for being completely different. All served as you can see with the pictures perfectly. The textures and flavors were exactly right. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean and orderly. World Sushi is a great hole in the wall sushi establishment with a wide range of appetizers and roll options. The shrimp shumai came out hot and fast, with a great dipping sauce that my kids loved. The special sushi rolls are great. The wasabi butter roll was our favorite. It sounds weird, but the roll is absolutely delicious and doesn't have an overpowering wasabi taste. The other rolls we tried were equally good and very large - the value is really great. Finally, the service is very quick and kind. The couple who owns the restaurant were exceedingly kind to my kids who managed to keep dropping their chopsticks and even brought out mini water glasses for them. Found this on Yelp because it had good ratings but I dont think they wanted to eat inside. Seems more of a takeout business. It also was freezing inside so not the most comfortable but I guess that is a good thing so the sushi doesn't go bad. The food was awesome. The sushi pizza was delicious. Loved the crispy rice. I would skip the tuna tartare since it was more of a standard dish. It had more avocado than tuna. Tuna was fresh though. The broccoli tempura was delicious which was a nice surprise. My GPS had a little hard time trying to find but don't let the location or small establishment turn you away, it's a hidden gem. I had the Donkey Kong Roll, the Sushi Pizza and the Yaki Udon Chicken. The food was phenomenal! Fresh and bursting with a beautiful mix of flavors. The owners were very welcoming when I picked up my order. World Sushi is wholesome from start to finish. Still one of our go to sushi spot. And I must admit... I am obsessed with their Matsuri and Godzilla roll and order them on a regular basis. Eating these rolls make me super duper happy! Their tuna tartare is an additional treat. Melts in your mouth, with a hint of jalapeño and yummy guacamole. The spicy rolls are indeed spicy--sometimes too much for me to bear without drinking water in between. I still love it though. World Sushi is located in a stripmall but in the parking lot of a bigger stripmall. Stay with me...enter the Kohl's stripmall on Route 59 and bang a sharp right. You'll see the Palisades Urgent Center in front of you. World Sushi is to the right of that building in a very small row of stores. You can't see the front of the stores from that angle - you have to drive up what looks like a curb in order to get to the front. Can you see why I missed this place not once but twice? I will credit my man 100% for discovering World Sushi. This small restaurant was absolutely fantastic and he outdid himself yet again. World Sushi offers a plethora of regular rolls, specialty rolls, and pieces. We ordered a variety of everything and we were "oohing" and "ahhing" the entire time...generous sized rolls, not heavy on the rice, and the fish was the perfect temperature and insanely fresh. Cold sushi really tweaks my melons but World Sushi nailed it. They also offer several varieties of sake and beer, which is nice considering the BYOB concept becomes tiring at times. Sometimes I just want a friggen Sapporo and I may not realize it until I get there. World Sushi seems to be a favorite among the locals, as the friendly owners greeted everyone by name when they entered. Service was hospitable and we left very satisfied. Cutest little sushi spot in a strip mall. Dont let the exterior scare you away. Key things to try: The Monkey roll, Miso soup, and spicy scallop roll. Stopped in today for take-out while running errands. A friend of mine is a big fan of this place, and despite living in Nanuet for many years, I never went in! I assumed it was going to be a little hole-in-the-wall, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the decor was actually quite pretty, and the space (albeit small) is much larger than what I expected from the outside. I ordered a naruto roll (no rice, wrapped in cucumber) called a Sashimi Roll and it had tuna, yellowtail, salmon, tobiko, and avocado inside. The fish was fresh and delicious. Usually when I order a naruto roll, the cucumber is sliced a little thinner than they did it here at World, but I actually liked it a little thicker because it stayed together much easier. I also had a side of edamame, but that's pretty hard to mess up. It was $14. I'll have to come back with my husband for dinner - we're a little sushi-snobbish when it comes to good quality fish and because of it we're particular about where we go. I'm excited to come back. Have only gotten the chance to go two times, months apart, but was surprised that the super sweet owner remembered us, saying "long time no see!" with a smile as we sat down. The sushi is so great and the prices are reasonable, my favorite thing is the takoyaki as its pretty hard to find around here and theirs is amazing. I just love the owners and the atmosphere too. On the outside it looks tiny and run down but inside is super clean, cozy, and comfortable. And the service is great as the owner loves to chat and joke around.
