This is our go-to place for a quick and quality sushi dinner. Like tonight, when we had not time to cook after having a broken oven replaced. We ordered 4 appetizers: spicy seaweed salad, vegetable gyoza, pork gyoza and vegetable tempura; our main dishes comprised of vegetable roll combo and pyogo roll for the 2 herbivores, cocktail roll and unagi roll for the 2 carnivores, plus Bento Box B (Bulgogi, shrimp & vegetable tempura, shumai, and California roll). Since this is a Korean run establishment, you are guaranteed proper spiciness for anything marked spicy, and authentic Bulgogi. It was a lot of food, but all was consumed with gusto. Everything tasted excellent and satisfying - hard to believe that one could get so stuffed on little nubs of sushi rolls :-). The restaurant itself is very small; it used to be take-out only. We ate there once right after they expanded to include a small dine-in space. World Sushi is a great hole in the wall sushi establishment with a wide range of appetizers and roll options. The shrimp shumai came out hot and fast, with a great dipping sauce that my kids loved. The special sushi rolls are great. The wasabi butter roll was our favorite. It sounds weird, but the roll is absolutely delicious and doesn't have an overpowering wasabi taste. The other rolls we tried were equally good and very large - the value is really great. Finally, the service is very quick and kind. The couple who owns the restaurant were exceedingly kind to my kids who managed to keep dropping their chopsticks and even brought out mini water glasses for them. All served as you can see with the pictures perfectly. The textures and flavors were exactly right. The staff was very friendly and the place was clean and orderly. Found this on Yelp because it had good ratings but I dont think they wanted to eat inside. Seems more of a takeout business. It also was freezing inside so not the most comfortable but I guess that is a good thing so the sushi doesn't go bad. The food was awesome. The sushi pizza was delicious. Loved the crispy rice. I would skip the tuna tartare since it was more of a standard dish. It had more avocado than tuna. Tuna was fresh though. The broccoli tempura was delicious which was a nice surprise. My GPS had a little hard time trying to find but don't let the location or small establishment turn you away, it's a hidden gem. I had the Donkey Kong Roll, the Sushi Pizza and the Yaki Udon Chicken. You can't see the front of the stores from that angle - you have to drive up what looks like a curb in order to get to the front. Can you see why I missed this place not once but twice? I will credit my man 100% for discovering World Sushi. This small restaurant was absolutely fantastic and he outdid himself yet again. World Sushi offers a plethora of regular rolls, specialty rolls, and pieces. We ordered a variety of everything and we were "oohing" and "ahhing" the entire time...generous sized rolls, not heavy on the rice, and the fish was the perfect temperature and insanely fresh. Cold sushi really tweaks my melons but World Sushi nailed it. They also offer several varieties of sake and beer, which is nice considering the BYOB concept becomes tiring at times. Stopped in today for take-out while running errands. A friend of mine is a big fan of this place, and despite living in Nanuet for many years, I never went in! I assumed it was going to be a little hole-in-the-wall, so I was pleasantly surprised to see that the decor was actually quite pretty, and the space (albeit small) is much larger than what I expected from the outside. I ordered a naruto roll (no rice, wrapped in cucumber) called a Sashimi Roll and it had tuna, yellowtail, salmon, tobiko, and avocado inside. The fish was fresh and delicious. Usually when I order a naruto roll, the cucumber is sliced a little thinner than they did it here at World, but I actually liked it a little thicker because it stayed together much easier. I also had a side of edamame, but that's pretty hard to mess up. It was $14. I'll have to come back with my husband for dinner - we're a little sushi-snobbish when it comes to good quality fish and because of it we're particular about where we go. I'm excited to come back. As other reviewers have mentioned it is small but it certainly does not lower the quality of the food or the restaurant itself. It's crazy how I have passed by this place every day on my commute and it is now one of my favorite local sushi places. They were very sweet, and served us in a timely manner.
