The sushi here is always delicious and beautifully presented. The Lychee Martini is consistently excellent -- refreshing, well-balanced, and elegantly served. The interior design creates the perfect atmosphere for a date night or an upscale dinner. Any vibe you need. I've seen every attire here. Every visit has been a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

    Premium selection from omakase

We stopped by during a road trip on a Sunday night. It looked like a popular, charming spot on the street, but first impressions faded quickly -- the sticky floor and uncleaned tabletop that left my fingers tacky were a real letdown. A dated interior is one thing; poor housekeeping is another. The menu was appealing, full of upscale options that set high expectations. We ordered the premium omakase selection. Unfortunately, three of the four pieces of uni sushi tasted bitter -- a clear sign it had passed its prime. The A5 wagyu was surprisingly tough and flavorless; it's the first "A5" I've had that didn't melt in my mouth. The soft-shell crab had a hard, breaded crust that was difficult to break through. These were the three major disappointments of the meal. On the bright side, the unagi topped with quail egg was the highlight -- rich, complex, and well-balanced in flavor. It outshone both the uni and the wagyu. Service was adequate but unremarkable.

I can't believe I live in the area and never got around to visiting Sushi Bada until now. Someone brought me here, and I'm so glad they did because this place is such a cute little gem. It is very laid-back and the service (at least the bar, lol) is great. I ordered the Shrimp Shumai and Beef Gyoza, and both hit the spot. Both were light and flavorful. The person I was with got the Negimaki and a California Roll, and they seemed to really enjoy it. Everything came out fresh and well-prepared, which is always a win. For my main dish, I had the Deep-Fried Chicken Thigh Cutlet Katsu, and it was exactly what I wanted. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and full of flavor. It had that perfect crunch without being greasy, which I really appreciated. One thing that stood out was our bartender, Mackenzie (sorry if I am spelling your name wrong). When I ordered a lemon drop, he actually asked if I wanted a sugar rim. No one has ever asked me that before! Sometimes the sugar is just too much, and I loved having the option instead of it being assumed. It's the little things that make a difference. I also had the Belgian Chocolate Mousse Cake, and it was amazing. Rich, velvety, and just the right amount of sweetness. Definitely one of those desserts you keep taking small bites of just to make it last longer. I really enjoyed my time here. The food was solid, the service was nice, and now I'm wondering why it took me this long to finally stop by. I'll most likely be back!

Never misses! Sushi Bada has been our go-to Sushi spot in the area for years! The rolls are always fantastic, the other dishes are always delicious and the Crispy Rice is always to die for. Service wether taking out or dining in is good - they can be quite slow at times which definitely detracts from the experience but the food is worth it. The ambiance is wonderful and very clean and modern. If you need solid sushi in the area Sushi Bada is your spot.

I got 3 sushi rolls to go as well as the dumpling soup with mushrooms (not pictured). The soup hit the spot on a cold day! I got a spicy scallop roll. At other spots where that roll has been on the menu, and is considered equivalent to spicy tuna, spicy salmon etc so is the price of a regular roll. This was way more expensive, I guess they consider it a special roll here. The other two rolls were the eastern roll (tuna, yellowtail, cucumber, masago) and the sunfire roll (eel, avocado, crab meat, masago with spicy mayo). Unfortunately I had to throw out the sunfire roll. I understand eel has small bones. But everywhere else I've gotten sushi, they expertly remove the bones or at least the majority. There were so many crunchy bones in this roll it was inedible. I ended up calling and they refunded me for that roll which was great customer service. Not sure if I'd head back this way when I've had better closer to me. The coconut aminos was my own purchase as I prefer to soy sauce!

While I loved my first experience here, this visit was a little bit of a let down. Granted, it was an early Monday evening. But it was our anniversary and sushi is our favorite! We got the Omakase, but the sea urchin tasted like it had gone bad. The miso was super delicious and probably The best I've ever had. But We also got the chefs selection fo sushi, and I was disappointed that they cooked a good amount of it with a torch. Which also made me think it wasn't that fresh. Lesson learned, Friday or Saturday visits only.

My son and I stopped here on our way back home after a tour of the Culinary Institute of America. Not being familiar with the area, I was unsure what to expect in Sushi Bada. We spied the restaurant while crossing the street, and the understated and tasteful sign was a welcome first blush with what would prove to be a solid sushi experience. We were seated immediately and ordered shortly thereafter. I had shumai, while my son tried the pork gyoza. The shumai were light and fresh, with notable bits of shrimp in the filling. I ordered the omikase, which included a selection of familiar and novel bites: salmon, mackerel, and shrimp accompanied Chu-toro, toro, scallop, and uni. The fish was fresh and delicious, and the tuna belly proved to be the most delightful bites of sushi I have ever had. So good were they, in fact, that we ordered one additional nigiri of each variety after we finished our entrées. The space itself is dark but warm; lights hang from the ceilings, giving the long, narrow room a dreamy, starry-skied ambiance. The front of Bada features a well-stocked bar, too.

Our first time coming here on Friday night. We enjoyed it so much we can back the next night. Crispy rice is an absolute must- crispy, delicate, heat all in one well balanced bite. The spicy tuna tartare is amazing. Fresh good quality grade tuna- everything works together - it's delicious. The sushi here is fresh, higher quality fish. Tuna lover and everything I've ate with tuna has been flavorful and melt in your mouth. Ambiance is nice- this will be on my list for date nights and in our rotation.

The portion was good but the menu was misleading. This was the only dish on the rice bowl menu that didn't include rice. For that price, I should get rice instead of just three different kinds of pickled vegetables.

I have ordered from Sushi Bada before but this past Friday evening was my first time dining inside. Amongst those I know it it's known as a girls night out place, or good for friends and couples on the younger side and it is exactly what the vibe was. It is extremely loud, so if you have a hard time hearing or don't love that kind of atmosphere. This is not the place for you. Although located on a busy street with lots of other establishments, you can easily find parking behind in a big lot. Upon entering you are immediately struck by lights and a geometrical aesthetically pleasing bar. It really helps you get in the mood for a night out. Our waiter was friendly enough, but we only saw him in the beginning to take our orders and then he disappeared for the rest of the night with the exception of one check in. Pretty annoying as we had wanted to order more drinks and get water. We split two apps and ordered a few rolls for the table. Started with the Himachi Truffle and Goyza. Loved the yellowtail dish, but it definitely had a strong truffle oil flavor (which I love). I just want to point out it isn't subtle. The gyoza was fantastic and we got it fried. For our dinner, we got the Mahwah Roll, Red Hot Chilly and the one they put on fire. Can't recall the name. Everything was good no complaints at all. I really enjoyed the roll that was put on fire even though my friend wasn't a big fan. But I feel with sushi it is very personal, as for example love I love Eel and many I know don't. I will definitely be back, but just one point which I already knew from having picked up food before. This is not a traditional Japanese sushi sashimi place. Think of it more as modern American rolls.

My absolute favorite and go to spot for sushi. The food is beyond delicious. I have never ever had a bad experience or meal here. From time to time I'll switch up my order and the food is always flavorful and fresh. There is also a nice sized drink menu with so many options to choose from. They also have a great non-alcoholic selection as well. The staff are always extremely courteous and welcoming and can even help recommend what to get if you're unsure. The restaurant has a well decorated interior and a cozy feel with ambient lighting. The Mahwah and J5 rolls are my go to anytime I go. A must try spot if you're in the area, you will not be disappointed!

After that, service slowed to a crawl. We spent much of the night politely waving for drink refills, and there was a long wait after soup and salad before the chef arrived. The full experience clocked in at nearly three hours -- enough time to consider dessert elsewhere. The restaurant has been renovated, but the hibachi experience itself wasn't exactly a showstopper. Our chef was very animated and did all the expected tricks, but with nearby chefs singing at full volume, the atmosphere felt less like hibachi and more like an impromptu karaoke night. The prices were steep -- nearly double what similar hibachi spots charge -- and unfortunately, the food didn't rise to the occasion. The filet mignon and sirloin were underwhelming, the chicken was generously coated in teriyaki but somehow still lacked flavor, and the green tea soft serve arrived with an unexpected chocolate syrup drizzle that definitely did not ask for permission. While this place is clearly popular and booked months in advance, the experience wasn't unique enough to justify the cost or the time commitment. There are plenty of nearby options offering the same hibachi show without the three-hour runtime.

When we finally got it, our grill was dirty, with a large dust ball and oil stain on it. The worst thing was when I was trying to ask for water, but one of the staff just shushed me by putting a finger up and leaving. He never came back to the table. The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience.
