Came here on a Sunday night with my family initially planned to come for their Korean bbq but when we arrived, we were told their AYCE pricing is based on height and anyone over 4ft tall needs to pay full adult pricing which is around $40 per person. I have 2 kids which doesn't eat alot, which means my tiny 8YO son, who's the shortest in his class, will also need to pay full price. We thought this is extremely unreasonable so we opted to do a la carte. We ordered a kimchi pancake, hot stone bibimbap, army stew, 10 piece boneless chicken with soy garlic sauce, one combo kalbi with beef ramen and an order of tuna roll as my son was nagging for them. The kimchi pancake was thin, soggy, and oily. When the bibimbap came to our table, our server asked me to check if there's rice underneath as the kitchen may have left them out. I honestly have never experience anything like this before. I tried lifting through the veggies and didn't see it at first but realized it's a very small portion of rice embedded right in the middle. I have never had to order a bibimbap and put the white rice (that had came with my army stew) into the stone pot myself because there wasn't enough in there. Another thing to note is it's also my first time seeing button mushrooms used for bibimbap. The bulgogi was not well marinated or seared and the flavors were odd especially when the bulgogi was not well marinated. The soup base of the army stew was lacked depth and the kimchi was not fermented and sour enough. The rice that came with it was only half filled which I have never seen in any other Korean restaurants before. However, they had big pieces of sausage and spam which was a surprise. But they completely forgot to add the ramen. However, when I asked our server about it, he offered to let me make my own ramen at their ramen station. Their fried chicken was also a flop. The chicken pieces were flat and a little dry. It did not seem like it was double fried as it wasn't very crispy and it had too much sauce on it. The Kalbi was a joke. It was cooked on our table but the cooktop wasn't hot enough and the meat was not able to get a proper sear. It was basically boiling within its own marinate and looked very unappetizing. Their beef ramen and tuna roll, I cannot comment much because they were for my kids but I did try one noodle which was a little soggy and the tuna roll was cut to all uneven heights and the tuna, although looked ok fresh, but it was for sure not a good quality piece of fish. What a huge disappointment. The fact they price AYCE by height was very not children friendly and IMO very greedy. Their Korean dishes did not seem authentic at all. The restaurant also had no ventilation system at all so it was very smoky and smelly throughout the whole restaurant. The only positive thing was our server was great and made sure we were happy. Although it wasn't a very busy when we were there, we still had to wait for a long time before our food came out. They didn't even give us any banchan to start not to mention their banchan were very limited (only 4) and my kids were not thrilled they did not have any fish cakes. But our server gave us an order of dumplings on the house and we were thankful for that. He also took my army stew off our of bill since they left out the ramen. Overall, this is probably the worst Korean restaurant I've ever been to in all of North America including the ones I've been to in the middle of nowhere. The 1 star was really for our outstanding server and nothing else. If I can give a negative star for the food, I would. It was all MSG and I was dying of thirst throughout the rest of the night. Highly recommend this restaurant! The quality of the meat was amazing. I loved the bulgogi, spicy chicken, and so much more. I also loved the options for dipping sauces, it was presented how I'm used to in koreatown. I also really loved that there were so many halal choices, and that bbq and sushi were an option. The sushi was amazing and different. We loved the Wagyu nigiri and bulgogi rolls and so much more. Portion sizes were perfect for the three of us. My friends and I ate so much and can't wait to come back again. Service was excellent. Our group had allergies to soy and nuts and not only does the menu mark what has soy and sesame, but the waiter was helpful with that too. Definitely check this place out. It was worth every penny. I was here once two years ago, so thought it would be fun to try it again and bring my husband who has never tried Korean barbecue. Since I was on my own without a Korean friend this time we opted for the all you can eat. The inside is very spacious with large table areas, so I didn't think it would be an issue for the two of us getting a table, even though it was a Saturday evening. The establishment was crowded and busy and everybody looking like they were having a great time so I was actually concerned when we first walked in, but we were able to get a table with no wait. When we first sat down, we relied on the wait staff to guide us. They were very helpful in sharing some popular items and guiding us based on our preferences i.e marinated versus non-marinated meats and pork versus beef. Extensive amount of various meats and we tried a few beef options, some pork belly and also chicken. The teriyaki chicken was our least favorite. Along with all the meats there were and copious amount of sides to pick between. The steamed egg and spicy tofu stew were my favorites. The steamed egg was the texture of an egg soufflé and very light with this subtle Unami flavor. I would love to try to recreate. I enjoyed experimenting with the sauces they provided and various other of the complementary sides. In all fairness, I would probably not come back as it was almost too much food for me with just one other person, but I would certainly come back in a large group setting. Likely the worst dining experience I've ever had. Granted, they were likely understaffed, but there are still a number of things that happened that were inexcusable. Firstly, we got seated and we ordered immediately. But for an hour we were left unattended. We got no garnishes, no sauces, no food while people around us were being attended to. They weren't waiting on our food, they just forgot about us completely. Half of the food we ordered that night was never served, either. When we asked for our first grill change, it took them 30 minutes to change the grill, us having to ask three different waiters. When we finally got it, our grill was dirty, with a large dust ball and oil stain on it. The worst thing was when I was trying to ask for water, but one of the staff just shushed me by putting a finger up and leaving. He never came back to the table. It took our table a half hour just to get WATER. There are a number of other things but these were the biggest red flags. Do better. read more

The food is just okay. Nothing special for the price you pay. The bean stew has become watery. The steamed egg is the best thing in the menu. The service has gone down. They used to do the bbq, but they no longer do that for the customers. The banchan is limited to pickled radish, spicy cucumber salad, and kimchi. Also, they automatically charge the 3.5% fee even if you pay with a debit card when it is ILLEGAL to do so in the US. The sushi was fresh and flavorful but the real highlight was the meats. The cuts were amazing, tender, and perfectly cooked which made every plate feel like a treat. Prime No 7 is one of my daughter's favorite places to dine. We went for her birthday this past weekend and had great food. Granted, there have been some changes in the menu and there are a few less options for the AYCE, however the meat selection is great and the food is really good. We enjoyed and indulged in the prime cuts of beef and the seasoned shrimp. The Miso broth soup was tasty, just needed to be hotter. Been here two times already and I trek all the way from Queens, NY just for Halal KBBQ. They need to open a location in NYC ASAP! As far as halal meat goes, I never been to an establishment serving different cuts of meat (like intestines, beef belly, blade cuts etc.), so it was nice to finally experience this. I love beef belly! I never imagined I would say that but the texture is light and tasty. I did not like the intestine but that's because I don't like intestine in general. The price point is just right (about $50 pp). Interestingly, the All You Can Eat Sushi was only 2 or 3 dollars more, but I really didn't think I could commit to the sushi since rice is an easy stomach filler. We were in the area and decided to try this place since when it first opened, it had a lot of rave reviews. Did not realize it turned into an AYCE spot, but still gave it a shot via a la carte. There wasn't anything special about the interior but there was good space between tables so it wasn't stuffy. The one thing I noticed right away is that there wasn't any sort of ventilation system/fan so the smoke/smell was pretty potent. The menu was pretty large but we just went with two servings of meat, kimchi fried rice, and a plain tofu soup for our toddler. It was kind of a bummer that you had two order a minimum of two orders of the premium cuts of meat as I would have liked to have tried two different cuts, but we ended up going with the Oodae Kalbi since that seemed like their most popular cut. The serving size was better than average and the meat quality was decent. I thought it was decent value for what it was and I wouldn't mind getting it again. The kimchi fried rice was really basic and did not seem authentic at all. The tofu soup was super salty and packed with MSG. It did not come out hot and therefore the egg we put in it did not cook at all. This was very disappointing. The side dishes were decent but not good enough for an a la carte ordering. The service was ok but I definitely had to flag down the staff multiple times for the same request. I think if they created better distinction between AYCE and a la carte, it would be helpful. I wouldn't get the meat AYCE option personally since the meat choices weren't that great, but it's great they have halal option. read more

My friend and I went to a new place and decided to try something new. The design is very clean and modern. We were greeted with a staff that is so kind and attentive, we didn't have to want for attention at all. My friend and I got the beef bulgogi spicy chicken and the beef brisket, all were good, but the star was the beef bulgogi. The other sides and garnishes were all good as well. We had the fried veggie dumpling and beef dumpling that were all good. To finish we had 1 black sesame and 1 green tea mochi. Also the honorable mention out of it all is the green tea. Do not go to this place! Food was okay, yet the waiters were side eyeing our table and almost judging our table for waiting before ordering food. Then when trying to pay, they tried to charge us an extra $40, claiming there were 4 people (only 3 at our table). Took 15 minutes of arguing with the manager who barely spoke english before getting a refund in cash, mind you they would not accept cash as a payment. They also would not let us split a check, and were not very nice in general. Reading other reviews, I see others had similar experience of being overcharged and scammed. When asking for recommendations, they just said to "order what we like", again, no friendliness in this entire experience. Food: I was really hoping for it to be good, especially considering the higher prices and the long wait time. Both my partner and I didn't want to finish the food, it was unenjoyable and reminded me of food from a food court. I would recommend avoiding the "dirty red sauce" and to go to fort lee instead. The town has amazing asian cuisine for a lower price, great service, and amazing food. This place was not that. Ambiance: It was nice, clean and quiet at the time. There are many rules for the all you can eat. It's an additional 30% charge if you stay for longer than the 100 minutes. BEEF STEAK, CHICKEN TERIYAKI, Beef BULGOLGI, MARINATED SPICY PORK, CHAP JAE, DUMPLINGS. dumplings were strange. The skin was bread-like. No taste in the filling. The chap jae was good but it was served on a plate that was teacup saucer sized. Also!!!! While we were eating, one of the guys walks over and without a word, TURNS DOWN/OFF our grill. Was that a signal that we've eaten enough? He didn't ask us. I looked at him walk over and he NEVER made eye contact with me. I thought that was SO RUDE! After discussing how my in-laws had not had Korean food in YEARS, how convenient that Prime No 7 just opened 10 min away in Mahwah. I have a feeling they're going to do great in Bergen county. It looks like we have NYC quality in northern NJ. We love getting bibimbap when dining in at Prime No 7. There was something for everyone in our family. My mother in law is vegetarian and I was able to introduce her to many Korean dishes without compromising her dietary needs. This includes the mushroom tangsoo, japchae with the meat removed, and the various banchan (side dishes). She and my husband had the mushroom dolsot bibimbap while my father in law and I had the short rib dolsot bibimbap. We all enjoyed everything and walked out with nothing left on the table. Only improvement my father in law noted was that the amount of meat given in the dolsot bibimbap could be more consistent (first time he had plenty, second time he said he only got a few pieces and wish he would've gotten more). Will definitely need to come back one day to do the signature Korean barbecue menu. But I'm now looking at my pictures and the menu and getting hungry. Until the next time we're back here! read more

Decent Korean BBQ place, but honestly not the best value. We started off by ordering the Seafood Scallion Pancake ($16), which was okay- a bit thin with not much seafood in there. You can probably get better quality for cheaper from a Korean grocery store. We also ordered the Corn Cheese ($10), which is exactly as it sounds- corn with melted mozzarella cheese on top. They also gave us plenty of bonchon starter dishes which were average in quality. As for the actual BBQ part, we got the Dinner BBQ Combo, which allows you to pick 3 meats for $94 (supposedly enough to feed a whole family of 3 or 4). The have some cool heating tables that look like they're just all wood but can heat up a metal cooktop on the table where they cook the meat for you in typical Korean BBQ fashion. We started off with the pork belly, which was not that flavorful and a bit tough. There were also only 4 medium-sized pieces of pork belly that they cut up into smaller pieces. Luckily, our next two meats were much better. The bulgogi was very good and tender, and the teriyaki squid was also tender and was flavorful with the tasty teriyaki sauce. Still, given the amount of meat we actually got, I don't think this was really worth the $94. The staff are very friendly, attentive, and helpful. The restaurant itself is large and open with plenty of seating at large tables. There are interestingly no vents directly above the cooktops as is the case at most Korean BBQ places, but there are lots of vents on the ceiling. Other than that, there is a pretty typical Korean BBQ vibe inside although it seems a bit more Americanized than others. There is a large parking lot for the whole shopping center right outside, which is convenient. Overall, the I'm not sure if Prime No. 7 is the most authentic Korean BBQ spot, and it shows in the okay quality food. On top of that, the value is not great. That being said, if you happen to be nearby in the area and looking for some Korean food, this could still be a decent option. I just wouldn't go too far out of your way to come here. read more

Had an amazing time here. We tried the halal Korean BBQ and it was great. We had the marinated steak hanger steak beef bulgogi and spicy beef bulgogi and also spicy squid. It was all very good quality meats. The sides were also delicious they had kimchi, miso soup, beef dumplings, veggie fried rice , rice cakes and fried rice cakes all were very delicious. The service was also very fast and good they helped us out with any questions we had. The place was also nice and spacious and you can tell them you are coming for the halal BBQ and they will seat you accordingly. Definitely a great place to be with friends and family. What an awesome MEATing I had with 2 very good friends of mine (their first time into the world of KBBQ) where we had some amazing slices of beef brisket, beef belly, hangar steak, bulgogi and one chicken (you don't go to a kbbq for chicken but just this once for the newbies). Although the banchan is limited , you can choose the sides and that's actually a good thing (no waste). But let's rewind. Back on the west coast ICAN bbq was the karate shnitzel for halal kbbq and I may have imagined opening one of these spots on the east coast being that I'm currently here, but the popularity amongst the halal folks is a mixed bag. Nonetheless I had to get out of NY to look for a spot and see how they do it. Lo and Behold , PRIME NO.7 !! So first thing i noticed was "where are those overhead exhaust wands on top of the BBQ grills"? Good thing we didn't bring our coats with us or else, game over (the food smell guys , not that there's anything wrong w it but when it mixes with your cologne or perfume...not attractive) We had the lovely Serena who helped us navigate this maze of meats and gave us one of the best experiences in explaining the meats, grilling our meats, prepping the meats then serving the meats , 2 thumbs up. The rest of the staff, very friendly , truly awesome hospitality, I have to say it made the whole experience even more special. They also have their UGLY chicken brand available as well but we will definitely be back for that round. There's a lot of meat to go around but be sure to finish everything you order (they might make a few exceptions if you finished the grill but left a few pieces of untouched meat on your plate...don't order with your eyes !) Wowieee! Firstly, a Korean BBQ joint FINALLY by me. Secondly, may I add, one of the best ones I've been to - to date. I used to live in Leonia near Fort Lee and Palisades Park where Korean BBQ spots flourish. After moving a bit off the beaten path into Passaic county, there hasn't been much around here. I was told about Prime No 7 and went on a whim as a double date. The food was EXCELLENT and the service was absolutely top notch. The table side cooking was icing on the cake. I would say the place is great for a date night or a family night out. They provide lots of sides, as does most Korean BBQ places, that come with their meals. The quality of the meats were melt-in-your-mouth-able, what I'm calling a new quality standard, ha! I was so ecstatic to find this place and even more happy when leaving. I came here on a weekend for lunch and they have plenty of seating so I was seated quickly. The decor is modern and I like how spacious the restaurant is!
