Finally stopped by Fink's BBQ Roadhouse and I'm so glad I did! The atmosphere is super laid-back and the service was incredibly welcoming from the moment we walked in. If you're visiting, you absolutely have to try: * The Beef Brisket: It was incredibly tender, perfectly smoked, and had a great bark. Easily some of the best brisket in the area. * Fried-A-Que Chicken: This is a game changer--slow-smoked then flash-fried so it's juicy on the inside and perfectly crisp on the outside. * The Corn Soufflé: Do not skip this side! Came in for a later dinner quick bite to eat. I am not sure what the energy was there tonight but it was not a great meal in anyway. Service was perhaps understaffed or the people they have waiting tables were missing common sense (or their brains altogether). It took over 10 minutes of people walking past us to get anyone's attention and there were ample tables open yet we were not seating until one of the tables being used left and was cleaned. We ordered appetizers and two meals. I ordered the loaded baked potato soup in a bowl, a cup came out and thank goodness. It was terrible. Tasted like pepper heavy cream some cheese and a few measly bacon bits. Our server or any server was nowhere to be found to even complain to. We ordered our go to Cajun rub wings which were delicious as usual except them came out with blue cheese. Our server didn't ask if we had a preference or ranch or blue cheese which is fine that was not much of an issue. I said we wanted to start with appetizers and then order meals in a bit once we decide and if we were still hungry. We order this way every time and it's never been an issue. I kid you not our server walked away for a minute tops after telling us to,"take all the time you need", asking,"so you decide yet?" We opted for a pulled turkey cheese steak and large pork and fries. My cheesesteak I had to coach thru the entire ordering process. I asked for a side salad. Was not asked the dressing type or anything. Once I main meals came out someone else brought them to the table. I had no salad dressing and all of the staff were nowhere to be found. So I started to eat the salad dry. Finally our server comes over and asks how everything is. I asked for salad dressing and he runs off and brings me back blue cheese without asking. I said no thank you I will not eat blue cheese I'd like oil and vinegar please. Getting the check took forever. Then once he dropped it off another maybe 10-15 minutes to get my card run. This is not the Finks we know and are used to and enjoy. The other server seemed to constantly be giving dirty looks and was vaping within the restaurant between tables, like are you kidding me extremely unprofessional?! Very disappointed in our meal and service. Especially the fact it was not even busy at all. We paid our bill and left just in time because the entire bar side smell of cigarettes was creeping over as if people were smoking inside. Fink's barbecue is a Meat Lovers Paradise! I have been there quite a few times and It is my favorite barbecue restaurant! Everything there is absolutely delicious! This time, I had a pork belly slider and a brisket slider. The meats were so tender and flavorful! OMG! A must try is the corn pudding. It is a pure heaven and believe it if not, the main reason I go to Finks. Although it's not around the corner from me, it definitely is worth the drive. LOVE to have fried catfish!! It's been too long, and Fink's definitely hit the spot! And for someone who doesn't much care for greens, I took my leftovers home! Very juicy, not bitter, and a nice flavor overall. I love the daily specials, such a great idea that's not seen very often. Really meaty wings, and next time, I'll be sure to get a regular sauce as advertised, rather than the dry rubs that I usually prefer. I also really liked the ambience, multi-levels, taking advantage of the uneven terrain it's built on. You'd anticipate the restaurant would begin to clear, but this is just a normal Wednesday night at Fink's.) ~ Hey guys I'm back, sorry just lost my place there on the prompter (wipes pork and mashed potatoes off corner of mouth and puts undershirt covered in duck lard back on.) The pulled pork is simply at another level here. It is always perfect by itself or in between two blessed buns. Corn Soufflé is the best side, Mac and Cheese is sublime, Quackie Tatties, some real nice baddies... just endless options... I'm just happy to be here. All the cheesesteaks are wonderful. They are huge, they are creative, they are customizable. They serve hot dogs. They come out fantastic. I feel like I'm a kid at a carnival here. My eyes are wide open, my smile runs ear to ear, I'm not wearing any pants. Life is simple at Finks. Smell food. Choose food. Eat food. Usually never come here and now I remember why, the food is mediocre and the service is terrible. When I went for dinner, there were two waiters and two bussers all about college level. We waited 10 minutes to get seated then after every single person kept leaving, there was about seven tables that they just left dirty, they didn't clean any of them. They ran out of turkey at 6 PM at night. Our waitress decided to up and go on break. Never came back to check on us. We didn't get any silverware and one of the guys were saying they ran out of knives and had to clean them then when they did clean them, they left sharp knives in front of my two-year-old. The portions were very tiny. And the overall experience was just terrible. I won't be coming back here again. read more

We really enjoyed our meal! Last minute decision to try Finks tonight. They were nut aware and fry in soy bean oil. Our waitress Allie was awesome and super nice. Great BBQ and seasonal menu reflected Fat Tuesday offerings such as the brisket BBQ. Also, the cornbread soufflé is a local favorite for over 20th years. Not your typical cornbread and it was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend and would eat heat again if we lived closer. read more

Everything you'd want in a BBQ joint and Bar. This is the best BBQ I've had anywhere in the Northeast and I think it just became my new favorite Restaurant in New York! It's seriously that good! I highly recommend going on Wednesday night for 75¢ wings but also don't forget to get the Duck Fat Mashed Potatoes, Sweet Corn Brûlée and Beer Cheese Macaroni! Meats are solid. Brisket is good, good flavor, a tiny bit tough. Half bird is excellent, flavorful and crispy. We had the 2nd cut beef rib, it was perfect, we like it lean. Very nice Smokey flavor, use the bone to make a soup and it added so much flavor to my soup. Corn soufflé is amazing, wish I ordered a larger serving. Mac and cheese is thick and a little bit dry. As close as you can get to dumpster quality food. Ribs were dry and burnt beyond recognition. Tried to save it with bbq sauce. No chance. Staff aren't knowledgeable about how the pricing of their sides work. The ribs went back in the garbage probably where they came from. Place is unsanitary. Bathrooms are as clean as porta potty. Food is definitely good, it's the service and staff that is just ok. More than once I've placed an order for pickup and when home realized things were missing from the order. Call to let them know and they are non apologetic. So while the food is good I recommend 1000% checking every time you pick up your order. read more

We ordered take out from Finks and it was really delicious! We got the classic cheesesteak on a hero with American cheese and lettuce. We upgraded the order to French fries instead of chips. Also got Yesterday's Brisket with an upgrade to tater tots instead of chips. All we can say is YUMMY! Really good bbq food! We will definitely order here again. The restaurant looked really cute so next time, we will eat there instead of take out. Also, their coleslaw is very tasty. Got there first time ever walked in bar on the left restaurant on the right waited a little bit at the door then I seated myself as an appetizer I had the Texas lollipop (4) with a white sauce to me tasted a bit of horseradish in there then ordered The Outpost Sampler the service was great Alex great service along with the team but I noticed that everyone who came left with a plate of food because portions were plentiful I was so full I couldn't order a dessert I had to tap out. Bbq is not bad. I wouldn't be opposed to return although don't come in with high expectations. Ordered a beef rib. You can choose one of 3 cuts which vary from $55 to $26. I got the 3rd cut (which is more on the fatty side, and the cheapest). The marinate which they added was really tasty, although I couldn't really detect much smoky flavor. Got the platter which came with a side of tots and beans. The tots were great. The beans were terrible though. Just a really weird taste and I couldnt detect any hint of smoke. I think the platter was a $8 upcharge. My husband and I came here while visiting Suffern. It was recommended by a local business owner. This was the perfect find for our Friday afternoon. Amazing hidden gem. Very passionate chef and manager. The food is very fresh and flavorful. They have a lot of menu options, I don't think you can go wrong. They have a happy hour and I posted the menu. The bartender, Ella, was awesome. She was friendly, quick service, and able to suggest some must try items in the big menu. I loveeeeeeeee spice and was intrigued by the atomic onion topping. It was spicy. super spicy. But it was delicious as a topping. Be warned- hotter than Nashville hot have a drink on hand. Pat shared all the specials with us- one was wing night, another was hot dog night, and I think another was some type of brisket or something. They have outdoor seating and live music in the weekend. Pat encouraged me to follow them on fb and Instagram because they host cooking demonstrations and special events. Finks? More like finking disgusting. I made a yelp account just to tell this restaurant to fix their menu. The service was great, our server was attentive, and the bartender was extremely understanding about a drink issue. The food we ordered was dry, lacking flavor, and uninspired. I wouldn't have fed this food to my dogs, and I think my dogs would have refused to eat it as well, and they eat their own vomit. Never coming back. read more

I decided to splurge and get the First cut of the beef short rib... this was not worth $55 whatsoever. For $55 I can buy a giant porterhouse for two. I'm not sure what I was expecting but most of it was fatty and I felt like I wasted my money. The bbq isn't bad here, but whenever I go (I get food to go when I go here) they forget the sides in my order. Also they are often out of the sweet corn soufflé even when I order early. I'm more of a cornbread gal myself, but they don't even offer that- just the sweet corn soufflé, which isn't that great even when they do have it. read more

I ordered lunch I got expensive shoe leather. I wouldn't have even given the place a single star except the waitress did an adequate job and credited me 3 dollars off my bill . I know I shouldn't have ordered anything meat wise named Yesterday's brisket..Can't say they falsely advertised what I got , but it was BAD. The meat was tough ,like leather,and black and so coated in pepper-(which I Hate) that I couldn't eat it. I had also ordered the corn soufflé instead of chips- which was ok .I paid 26 bucks for what!!!! A soda, A corn soufflé the size of a half cup and shoe leather.
