Run, do not walk, to Alta Irpinia for their Porchetta Sandwich or on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday Porchetta Pizza.

Holy beejeezis the Porchetta Pizza... it is outstanding. Available only on Friday and Saturday after 5:00pm and Sundays after noon, the Porchetta Pizza at Alta Irpinia is an absolutely amazing "destination dish". The flavor of the Porchetta is complex with hints of spice and crisp edges that may be the greatest thing to happen to pizza since sauce, cheese, and bread got together the first time. They have other pizzas that are also at the top of their game -- but do not skip the Porchetta! Frankly everything at Alta Irpinia is top notch. The Faro Salad, Polpette, Seafood Salad, and the humble Chicken Cutlet are some excellent highlights. Don't skip the imported packaged goods from Italy! There's always something interesting and delicious. Ask anyone that works in the place for suggestions. They won't steer you wrong! They don't have seating inside, but if the weather is nice, there's some tables outside to enjoy the spread you get. If you're trekking from NYC, take NJ Transit to Suffern. Alta is a short walk from the station. If you want to make a day of your Suffern visit, check the schedule at the Lafayette Theatre which is just down the street. Beautiful place. (Bonus points if they're playing the organ before your feature!) So yeah... Porchetta Pizza. Add it to your list. Go as soon as you can. And hit me with your review of this magical Italian masterpiece.

Coarse sea salted pizza crust? Yes please! And when you see a steady stream of short, older, hair dyed Italian grandmothers coming in and out, you just know you've hit pay dirt. This tiny Italian oasis is a gastrointestinal gem. I would have ordered the entire store but with limited seating (one table indoors, a few more on the sidewalk) space and time was limited. Now those meatballs are huge and packed with flavor, a perfect complement to the pizza. I opted for the pepperoni, delicious but those roni cups slightly overwhelmed the delicious cheese and sauce. The counter people, probably the owners were super friendly and answered many questions customers asked. Fair warning, you pay for the premium quality!

The best pizza we have ever had (even the pizza we had in Italy doesn't compare). We got the margarita and Tartufo truffle, and both were equally incredible. Staff is super quick and polite. We definitely will be back and recommend!!!

Everything was so good. The service. The wait. The flavors. The consistency. The shop. The music...

    Chicken Parm

Wanted to like this place but it didn't happen :-( Called to order pizzas at 7P on a Friday night. Out of pizza :-( (And they only serve pizza from 5-8P) Ordered Chicken Parm hero on semolina roll. Asked if they use sauce on the sandwich and they said yes. Nope, just a scant amount of sauce, not even enough to wet the bread. Bread was over toasted making it tough to eat. Chicken was very dry and tough and very little cheese :-( Ordered a eggplant parm on ciabatta bread. Bread was good. Again, just a scan amount of sauce and a bit more cheese. Eggplant was a bit mushy, not a good fry. Only good item was their cherry filled almond cookie. Disappointing given the good reviews. Not going back for sandwiches, might try their pizza "if" it's still available.

Porchetta samwich. Guys gave me a side of spicy mayo. Issa nice!!!

Just had a porchetta sandwich and have to say must have been one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Will definitely be back soon!

I have to say the guy who takes the orders and does the cashier is above and beyond super friendly and polite. Borderline nauseatingly nice, but that's just me. Overall excellent customer service, job well done. Tons of selections from cold cuts to hot sandwiches. I would stick with a nice hot chicken sandwich with whatever assortments you prefer or a classic Italian cold cut sandwich with your choice of sliced meats. I had a meatball and it wasn't that impressive. If you're gonna spend this kind of money, go for a good sandwich. If you wanna pedestrian meatball sandwich, get one from Subway for five bucks not from here for $15. The price is a bit expensive. you're looking at $12-$14 for a medium size sandwich. And all reality they should be $10 max, but what can you do? Still If, and when you order from this franchise, you're guaranteed to get a solid sandwich, quality meats, on great crispy Italian bread with seeds made to order. Primo Hoagies - A#1 in!

While on vacation, we were craving the Bada Bing & Bada Boom (our usual) from them, so I asked him to get it on his drive home from Jersey one day... After having my Bada Boom, I have to say, I was really disappointed. The chicken cutlet was rubbery & dry, there weren't enough peppers, and the sesame bread tasted stale. Not to mention, $16 for a 9"- Primo size, I expected better. Prices went up, but the quality definitely went down :(

Being that I was attending a pool party today I offered to pick up sandwiches for lunch for a group of 9 and called in an order for 2 hours later. Sadly 3 of the sandwiches arrived on ciabatta bread instead of focaccia, which was quite disappointing as the only reason the sandwiches were picked were specifically to get the focaccia. And, one of the sandwiches we asked for no sauce as it was spicy and she can't eat spicy, and it arrived with sauce, smothered all over. I understand everyone has an off day but almost half our orders were wrong. If they had run out of focaccia for example, I wish they would just have called us so we could have adjusted our order. Not even sure if that's the case or if they were just rushing in the kitchen and just threw everything on ciabatta but either way today was not a good day for Morano's.

When I…read morearrived at 11 a.m. the day before the holiday to pick it up, I was surprised--and disappointed--to learn that they couldn't find my order at all. Janice, the owner, mentioned that this "sometimes happens with last-minute orders" and said she would look into it and call me back. There was no apology, just an implication that the issue was due to my timing. I never received a call. I ended up having to adjust my menu at the last minute, which was stressful, and the lack of follow-up from a place like Morano's felt unprofessional. I had hoped that once the Thanksgiving rush calmed down, someone might reach out with an explanation or apology, but that never happened. Overall, a very disappointing experience.
