I went to one of my favorite restaurants in town last night So disappointed to find out that Loyd is no longer there,You could tell the difference,Loyd was bigger than life,He was the personality of Lavagna He was all over the place greeting everyone that came in .Stopping by every table to make sure, all was going well His explanation of the specials were such a treat to listen. In comparison yesterday the menu was dropped on the table, along with the special menu.Loyd you will truly be missed.I don't know if I was just stunned that Loyd was no longer at Lavagna, but the pasta dishes seemed like they were much smaller. The atmosphere was truly off,but the food was still very good

Found this place online and decided to check it out for dinner last night. Cute, casual place with chalk drawings on the walls. Nice sized bar and we were lucky enough to get to seats. Lloyd, the owner greeted us and suggested some wines as he is also a sommelier. I had a red blend and my husband had a white, both from the Tuscany region. Very nice pours ! Both of our wines were delicious and some of the best we've had recently. The price point was great and not overpriced like most restaurants are. We shared a charcuterie board that was so beautiful in the presentation and absolutely delicious. The goat cheese with lemon curd was definitely our favorite. We shared the pasta duck ragu special. You could taste each of the flavors in this dish. One of the best dishes we've had in a long time. Kudos to Chef Enrico! It was the perfect amount to share as pasta dishes shouldn't be a half a pound of pasta! For dessert we each had a cappuccino (thank you Lloyd for making it decaf), and a chocolate tart and olive oil cake. Both were off the charts amazing and all desserts are made in house. Menu is the perfect size, enough choices to make everyone happy. Prices were so reasonable. This place is a hidden gem. We can't wait to go back! Thank you again Lloyd and Enrico for a fabulous evening!

Food was excellent, drinks were good excellent, service was excellent (thanks Sammy). Definitely coming back here again soon. And parking is available behind and side of the restaurant.

If you haven't stepped into Lavagna yet you are missing out on great service, great lighting and atmosphere, amazing food, & a delicious new cocktail Menu that compliments the menu perfectly! My favorite time to go is at noon on my day off treat myself to the chefs specials & pair it with a special cocktail or a glass of wine ( the wine list is very thought out as well ) Executive Chef Enrico is killing it!!!!

This would have been a 5 had it not been for the completely clueless waiter who stood at our table for minutes at a time while we were trying to eat. This happened on 2 occasions. I even said " I'd like to enjoy my meal now" to get him to go away. And he still didn't have a clue. It was painful and very annoying. The place is lovely and the food is amazing. Highly recommend the charcuterie. The flavor pairings are fantastic.

    Rosalinda. It was so delish!

I love this place!!! The food was so good and the staff were very friendly. The place was so colorful but very chic! Drinks on point and you have to try their charcuterie board.

Our waiter, Matt, was wonderfully kind and professional; attentive and knowledgeable, yet never hovering. He made sure every detail was just right. The porterhouse steak for two was perfectly prepared, and we also enjoyed a remarkable wine selection and some well-shaken martinis. From beginning to end, it was first-rate, and the night felt truly special. Fleming's in Montvale went above and beyond to make our anniversary memorable, and we'll definitely be back.

I would give it 5 stars. Our waitress Swe, was delightful, kind, happy, described the dishes, gave suggestions, she is what you would expect from a waitress. Even the food runners were excellent, smiled and said hello when they approached the table. The service was definitely 5 star. The Food, presentation was excellent. The flavors, just weren't there. We started with these beautiful onion rings which were house made. Big, beautiful and fried to a crisp golden perfection, yet taste, there was none. absolutely nothing. the most boring onion ring ever. Then the wedge salad, chopped and soggy. If your going to reinvent a classic salad, it better be good. I had the seared yellow fin tuna, again what happen to the flavor. it had a carrot ginger puree, that was more for color than flavor. the best part was the arugula pickled onions and tomatoes that came on the plate. My dinner partner had 16 oz prime dry age rib eye, which he did not enjoy. I am not a meat eater but tastes it and was not impressed. this steak was so thin. they took 16oz and spread it across the entire plate, taking away the true essences of a steak. I was pretty disappointed in the food but the cocktails were very good as well as their wine-selection. I beautiful place with great staff, which i would go back maybe just for happy hour. One other disappointment is with being such an nice steakhouse and all of the staff dressed and all so professional why isn't there any type os dressed code. Why are they allowing people to dine in sweatpants and messy t shirts. They should have a requirement. most diners were dressed so nice but allowing sweat pants. my two star rating is based solely on the flavor of the food.

The food is still great. We had scallops, chorizo, brussels sprouts, and a flounder ceviche special. Everything was delicious. The ceviche in particular stood out -- fresh, well-portioned, and nicely "cooked" in lime juice. The sangria is still a highlight too. A big carafe, no ice watering it down, served with glasses full of fruit. The problem is the service. They had two servers and one bus person, and it showed. Everyone seemed to be scrambling, and it was hard to get a moment of attention to ask for anything or even be heard. Our food came out in pieces -- three items, then a long delay, then another. The last dish, calamari, never came. When I tried to tell the waiter we didn't want it anymore if it was forgotten, he didn't listen and insisted on bringing it anyway. We ended up waiting even longer, which just made the experience more frustrating. To top it off, they're now adding an operating/service fee (around 3-4%), which wasn't clearly communicated and just showed up on the bill. It's disappointing because the food is still very good, but the service issues -- and now the added fees -- are taking away from the experience. After this visit, we'll think twice before coming back.

Currently the decor isn't great but the friendly owner Raj said he would be updating the place over the next few months. Our waiter was new but he was very friendly and provided helpful recommendations. The menu is already large and Raj mentioned that they're looking to add southern Indian dishes to their current northern Indian focus. We had boneless wings, mutton, samosas, and another chicken appetizer. All of the starters were excellent, perfect mild to medium spice level. Our entrees included lamb, mutton biryani, and a chickpea dish. The biryani was a ton of food and the chickpea texture was awesome. We also had butter naan and I added a tasty mango lassi. The menu is a little limited, but that is to be expected. The waitress (Jodi) informed us that they just revamped their menu as of last week. Jodi was super kind, very friendly, and went above and beyond for us. She always made sure to top off on our coffee/juice/water.
