W attended an event so this review might not be an accurate representation of the restaurant. The food was ok. The salad was just mediocre but the dressing made up for it! It was so delicious that I dipped my bread in it! The bread was hard though and hard to bite. I had the chicken Parmesan and it was good. The portion was very big and they were prepared to give us to go boxes. It was a little expensive, but that might've been because it was an event, I would like to revisit when I can just go to enjoy the restaurant.

    The Chardonnay pour was awesome

Got there early and had a drink at the bar.. awesome Manhattan made by Ed then dinner was great. It was a group of 8 women and they treated us so well. The ambiance is elegant but not stuffy... food is ample and delicious... will return! Beni, the owner is delightful, Marcelo is a great waiter

This has become our go to place for dinner up near Closter. The food is always right on point. No matter if our party is for 4 or 12.

So I booked it for my wife's birthday and was excited to take her and our two kids. This is not a family friendly place. My kids are very well mannered and yet it seemed not welcomed there. Clearly you're under a ticking clock (1.5 hr limit)and the wait staff is impatient, the menu is dense which is great because there's a lot of interesting and unique dishes. But they don't give you time to understand and decide. We had soft shell crab, was very good, fried zucchini blossoms were decent but needed salt, the meatballs were good but needed salt. Pizza was good. I had the porchetta which was good. The squid ink pasta was solid. Wine was great value at $60 a bottle for all Italian wine. We had the Chardonnay and it was the highlight of the meal. But it was hard to enjoy it with the vibe that we somehow were imposing. Honestly it was all male servers plus the owner and I think a woman's touch for hospitality would go a loooong way here to help this place be more convivial. The weirdest and off putting ambiance thing is that they were playing country music which did not vibe with the joint at all. We didn't stay for desert, and glad we didn't.

A Hidden Gem on the Water - Cornetta's is a Must!…read more Memorial Day was the perfect excuse for a boat day with friends, and our mission was simple: find the best waterfront spot in Piermont, NY for some oysters and enjoy the sunshine. Cornetta's Restaurant and Bar delivered in every way! Confession: this wasn't my first visit. I had actually scouted Cornetta's the day before, and lucky for us, we struck gold. Sunday's visit was a perfect--my partner and I popped in for a cocktail and were greeted by Scotty, the super-friendly bartender who immediately set the tone for a great evening. I ordered a lemon drop made with bourbon (yep, bourbon!) and it's now officially my go-to drink for the summer. A friend tried the cheeseburger, and raved about it--juicy, flavorful, and massive. Exactly what you want in a classic burger 10/10. But the real magic happened on Memorial Day. After docking the boat, our party of six headed straight to the outdoor seating area, which offers a more casual, laid-back vibe perfect for sunny days. We kicked things off with a round of East Coast oysters that were fresh, briny, and delicious. No pictures because... they were gone in seconds. My only tiny wish? A dash of hot sauce on the side (personal preference) 9/10. Now, let me rave about the Seafood Arrabbiata with linguine. My partner and I shared this, and I am still dreaming about it days later. Perfectly seasoned with a touch of heat, this dish is a seafood lover's dream: jumbo shrimp, tender mussels, scallops, and calamari all cooked to perfection. It was generous enough to share, which is our thing but you might just want to order one for yourself. 1000/10 - no notes chef's kiss Other dishes at the table included the Atlantic Salmon with mashed potatoes and veggies, which looked good. Another friend had the Shrimp Scampi and added a cheesy risotto side at an extra cost--pro tip: he combined them into one dish and it was an absolute hit. A solid 8.5/10 with a subtle kick that added just the right amount of spice. Cornetta's honestly surprised me. With its unassuming waterfront charm and relaxed atmosphere, you'd never expect such bold, flavorful, soul-warming food. I'm convinced there's a Caribbean or Southern grandmother secretly running the kitchen because the flavors hit home in the best way. Will I be back? Absolutely! Again and again. Cornetta's has officially earned a top spot in my rotation. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and drop anchor here.

The building itself is white with with a blue door and accents and the walkway from the entrance to the dining area is decorated with sculptures in recessed cubbies in the wall. The main dining room is spacious and inviting with a lush ceiling and touches of warm, golden furnishings. It was bustling on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Diners were seated indoors and outdoors. We didn't get a chance to see the outdoor space but on a hot and sunny day, my family was fine and comfortable in the shade indoors. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Once I was seated and waiting for the rest of my party, he advised the time for last orders to be placed. My party of 6 ordered almost every appetizer and several of the limited number of mains offered on the lunch menu. The appetizers came out as they were ready. The beet salad and lobster salad came out first and were refreshing. The saganaki and watermelon appetizer was an interesting pairing and surprisingly delightful. We ordered two of the grilled octopus as it's usually a favorite within my group when dining at a Greek or Mediterranean establishment. Unfortunately, the octopus came chopped in small pieces and was uninteresting. IMHO this dish is not worth the price or the calories. Of the set of 4 spreads/dips, all were tasty and went nicely with the accompanying pita bread. We ended up doubling on this. The crispy shrimp and calamari, eggplant and zucchini chips, and the Greek meatballs were satisfying and a hit with everyone. Despite the disappointment with the grilled octopus, overall the appetizers were much more impressive than the entrees. For our mains, we got 2 of the filet mignon with eggs, the sirloin burger, the Lountza sandwich, the chicken souvlaki, the crispy shrimp wrap, and the shrimp roll. If we had to rank these dishes, the chicken would top the list, followed by the sirloin burger, and the rest would be last. Consistency in preparation and flavor profiles of the dishes is lacking. For example, we requested the filets cooked medium, however one filet was medium in some parts, medium rare in others. Personally, I enjoy medium rare and ate those pieces. As for the other filet, it was medium rare and borderline rare and inedible for my party. We requested additional heat for the dish, which the kitchen accommodated, but the meat came back basically well done SMH. While the chicken and burger were juicy and appetizing, the other dishes, albeit topped with many ingredients, were bland. Perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed, which resulted in receiving our entrees about two hours after placing the order and the poor, or at least decline in quality of, execution of our dishes. Considering the restaurant has been open almost two years, it is normal to expect experience in managing the weekend crowds. While we were advised about the hard stop on placing orders, it was a missed opportunity for our waiter to check if we wanted to add desserts to our meal. No warning or follow-up was made as the cutoff time was approaching. Normally, I would praise the experience and service, but the final straw was in the handling of leftovers and with the valet. We had several unfinished or untouched dishes we wanted packed to go. Upon checking the containers at home, not everything was packed. When waiting outside for our cars, one of our cars was already pulled up with the door open and ready to be driven away. Problem was, the car belonged to my sister, who was in the restroom at the time and had her ticket. Anyone could've driven her car away. Thankfully the valet cooperated and drove the car to the side and my sister retrieved it without incident. Overall, the experience was lengthy and off-putting. If you need a beautiful space with a good selection of small bites and have hours to spare, e.g. a special event, then this place is for you. If you are interested in a full meal, and have only 2-3 hours for a meal, this is not the place for you.
