Seafood Arrabbiata with linguine the star of the show!

A Hidden Gem on the Water - Cornetta's is a Must! Memorial Day was the perfect excuse for a boat day with friends, and our mission was simple: find the best waterfront spot in Piermont, NY for some oysters and enjoy the sunshine. Cornetta's Restaurant and Bar delivered in every way! Confession: this wasn't my first visit. I had actually scouted Cornetta's the day before, and lucky for us, we struck gold. Sunday's visit was a perfect--my partner and I popped in for a cocktail and were greeted by Scotty, the super-friendly bartender who immediately set the tone for a great evening. I ordered a lemon drop made with bourbon (yep, bourbon!) and it's now officially my go-to drink for the summer. A friend tried the cheeseburger, and raved about it--juicy, flavorful, and massive. Exactly what you want in a classic burger 10/10. But the real magic happened on Memorial Day. After docking the boat, our party of six headed straight to the outdoor seating area, which offers a more casual, laid-back vibe perfect for sunny days. We kicked things off with a round of East Coast oysters that were fresh, briny, and delicious. No pictures because... they were gone in seconds. My only tiny wish? A dash of hot sauce on the side (personal preference) 9/10. Now, let me rave about the Seafood Arrabbiata with linguine. My partner and I shared this, and I am still dreaming about it days later. Perfectly seasoned with a touch of heat, this dish is a seafood lover's dream: jumbo shrimp, tender mussels, scallops, and calamari all cooked to perfection. It was generous enough to share, which is our thing but you might just want to order one for yourself. 1000/10 - no notes chef's kiss Other dishes at the table included the Atlantic Salmon with mashed potatoes and veggies, which looked good. Another friend had the Shrimp Scampi and added a cheesy risotto side at an extra cost--pro tip: he combined them into one dish and it was an absolute hit. A solid 8.5/10 with a subtle kick that added just the right amount of spice. Cornetta's honestly surprised me. With its unassuming waterfront charm and relaxed atmosphere, you'd never expect such bold, flavorful, soul-warming food. I'm convinced there's a Caribbean or Southern grandmother secretly running the kitchen because the flavors hit home in the best way. Will I be back? Absolutely! Again and again. Cornetta's has officially earned a top spot in my rotation. If you're in the area, do yourself a favor and drop anchor here.

It is a cute restaurant by the harbour. We ordered fried calamari, baked clams and truffle fries for appetizers. The calamari and truffle fries were good. Baked clams were salty. For the entrees we ordered Lobster Risotto, chicken parm, veal chop, sirlion and seafood with squid linguine. The entrees tasted bland, we had to add salt on them. I would not be coming back, it was pricey for underwhelming food.

Katie gave her full attention! There was never a time where I didn't see her. The food hands down on every ordered. The place was packed I was seated right away. I have to say that I didn't return anything. As a chef I was pleased with meal and drinks

Stopped in last Sunday with my bestie after the Nyack street fair, we wanted a water front restaurant and just picked this place. We sat outside and it was a lovely afternoon. We ordered a bottle of wine, she had shrimp scampi, I ordered sword fish. We both enjoyed our meals. We shared crème brûlée which was also very good. Service wasn't great but not bad either. We were in no rush and had our wine and Catch up time so it was an enjoyable afternoon. Was only inside to use the restroom, the bar area smelled musty and fishy. The view was nice from the outside area.

I come here for the vibes and outside the food is fine .. hit or miss lol... but the service is good!! And it's soooo pretty. The mussels I wouldn't get again .. the chowder had no seafood in it lol.. but it's all still okay/ good and I had a great dinner time

The main ingredient in every dish must be SALT. Because that's all you will ever taste if you eat here. Last time I'll be coming... let me explain. I was here twice in 2020 and the entire experience was GREAT! However, the past two times I've been here recently left me with a bad taste in my mouth (literally and figuratively). I rarely ask to take a dish back to the kitchen but in these cases I had to. I found out that they changed the chefs, which explains a lot. Here's what I ordered from the past 2 recent visits: Grilled Octopus $22 - BURNT to the heavens. We had to ask to take it back. Shrimp Scampi with Linguine $32 - After the first forkful I knew I couldn't eat this. It was EXTREMELY SALTY with absolutely no flavor. I asked our server to take it back and ordered something else... I went with a fish dish and that was also salty. Ahi Tuna $19 - Not impressed. Tuna tasted overly fishy and it came with a sauce that was.... can you guess??? SALTY. Shrimp and Scallop Kebab $34 - This dish came with a skewer with 3 pcs shrimp + 3 pcs scallop, vegetables, and risotto. Portion was small. The scallops were tender and cooked well, but the overall dish lacked any flavor or seasoning. Nada. Branzino $35 - Guess what???? Yep, another salty dish. Quality and portions are NOT WORTH the prices. Listen, I'm willing to pay for a good meal.... but SHEESH, would it kill you to SEASON your food properly??? The best thing I had here was the espresso martini lol. The only reason why this restaurant is popular is because they have an outdoor dining option where you can sit near the marina with a (not so impressive) view of the Hudson River. The wait times can be long - 45 minutes to an hour. The host told us it would be 20-30 minutes.... but that wasn't the case. They only take down your name (no phone number) so you have to physically be there and wait in a crowded area until they call you for your table. They DON'T take reservations. The parking situation is also terrible - they do not have enough spots and it is very tight and crowded. Service was a bit below average. They weren't very friendly or attentive; they just didn't seem to care. We had to flag down servers most of the time. I do not recommend coming here if you like flavorful, well-seasoned food that doesn't have pounds of salt ingrained in every bite. If you're interested in the view, just go to the bar for drinks.

Nice outside patio bar as well as inside dining options. I recommend the seafood tower, lobster risotto $44, and the blackened red snapper! All were great. The crème brûlée had a grainy texture, but it will still delicious. All wait staff were kind and attentive. The cosmo cocktail was also great.

This was an interesting experience-where S Service made a huge difference.... Gorgeous Saturday evening in August, so we arrived at 6:20pm to be on the early side to celebrate a birthday - we were told "20-30 minute wait" - it was 45 minutes for a party of 4. We were led outside and sat near the cart with the dirty dishes.... the gnats were out in full force & we asked to move to a table further away- still outside - they moved us. They brought us bug spray and two citronella candles.... still the gnats were insufferable so we asked to move inside the Pavillion- they moved us again. At 7:45pm the waiter, Will, took our order - there were only 4 waiters on a Saturday night. Will was efficient and our food came out very quickly. I had the shrimp and scallop kabob with risotto- risotto was too al dente, almost crunchy! Two in our party had sandwiches: spicy chicken and Crab cake - both were happy. Drinks are good and they brought out candle on the cheesecake we ordered for dessert (we also had the Tartufo. We stayed till closing - will return... will arrive early... beautiful water & bridge view.

OMG! What a great find was this place!! Nestled in the village of Piermont? Is this really magnificent restaurant. This place has a really awesome vibe and amazing service. The restaurant is right on Piermont Avenue and has a view to the marina outside. They have a fairly large dining room. They have an amazing menu of dishes, I tried the seafood combo and that was fabulous. I also had the buratta--delicious! We did the oysters on half shell, and that was absolutely amazing. Oh and don't forget the cocktails here. The bartender makes an amazing array of different cocktails. I had a spicy margarita and it was delicious. we ended the night with a dessert and coffee. The owners here really know how to treat customers as well. If you have not been to this place, you really need to get out and try it. I will be coming back here again, and again.

4.5 stars We had…read moretried several Thai restaurants in Bergen and Rockland county and had continually been disappointed. However, that changed with our discovery of SOD. First off, the staff was extremely nice, both on the phone while placing our order and during our seamless pickup. Though we took the food to-go, their dining room was certainly cozy and comfortable enough for dining in on another occasion. When we got home and unpacked the food, we saw that the portions were generous and that everything was well-packed. We started by sharing the unique, Handmade Thai Crepe Dumplings. The beautiful dark purple noodle wraps had been stuffed with peanuts and turnips, a spectacular flavor combination covering salty, nutty, and sweet profiles. I then had my Tom-Yum Soup, which had been served in a quart container that was about 2/3 full, so a bit more than a pint. The spicy, sour lemongrass broth was packed with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, lemongrass, Kaffir lime leaves, and tender white meat chicken, which we had asked to be added. The soup had been prepared with a medium spice level that was ideal for the dish. However, the restaurant was not shy with their spices on the main courses! I went with my standard Pad Se-Ew with Chicken, for which I do not typically specify a heat level. However, the restaurant's menu mentioned that spice could be added between mild and extra hot. I asked for medium, but it was definitely more fiery than I had expected! However, the noodles were delicate and the Chinese broccoli was fresh and crisp. My mouth might have been a bit numb, but I could still tell that the dish was tasty! Everyone else loved their individual plates, though we all took note that we should be more careful with our requested spice levels going forward. In addition to our own meals, we shared an order of the Garlic Noodles with Chicken, since it was an unusual dish for a Thai restaurant. It contained sautéed, flat rice noodles with egg, bean sprouts, scallions, garlic, sesame oil, and tender chicken. A mild heat level was perfect for this, as the lack of fire allowed the robust sesame and garlic notes to make an impact. Each piece of chicken was lean, moist, and tender. SOD Thai really exceeded my expectations and was definitely a local gem that we would order from again!

Homey, family run, authentic eatery that brings in the hospitality of the Land Of Smiles. I was there for dinner recently for a family event and we ordered 7 entrees and some appetizers and had it family style. Most notable dishes were the Chive Pancake appetizers - light and fluffy, crusty on the outside with a tangy tamarind sauce to accompany. For the main entrees: the Shriracha Fried Rice was outstanding. Well balanced and tangy with just enough heat and crunch. The Pad See Noodles and Garlic Noodles were both heavenly. You could taste that the rice noodles were made fresh, each day. You won't want to miss the Tamarind Shrimp either. A most unique dish. The other remarkable dishes was the Green Curry with papaya and bamboo shoots. Simply divine. For each entree, you decide what kind of protein you'd like or go vegan. Reasonably priced with attentive and friendly service. Don't let the strip mall vibes put you off. Park the car, pull up a chair and get ready to feast. You won't be disappointed.

The building itself is white with with a blue door and accents and the walkway from the entrance to the dining area is decorated with sculptures in recessed cubbies in the wall. The main dining room is spacious and inviting with a lush ceiling and touches of warm, golden furnishings. It was bustling on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Diners were seated indoors and outdoors. We didn't get a chance to see the outdoor space but on a hot and sunny day, my family was fine and comfortable in the shade indoors. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Once I was seated and waiting for the rest of my party, he advised the time for last orders to be placed. My party of 6 ordered almost every appetizer and several of the limited number of mains offered on the lunch menu. The appetizers came out as they were ready. The beet salad and lobster salad came out first and were refreshing. The saganaki and watermelon appetizer was an interesting pairing and surprisingly delightful. We ordered two of the grilled octopus as it's usually a favorite within my group when dining at a Greek or Mediterranean establishment. Unfortunately, the octopus came chopped in small pieces and was uninteresting. IMHO this dish is not worth the price or the calories. Of the set of 4 spreads/dips, all were tasty and went nicely with the accompanying pita bread. We ended up doubling on this. The crispy shrimp and calamari, eggplant and zucchini chips, and the Greek meatballs were satisfying and a hit with everyone. Despite the disappointment with the grilled octopus, overall the appetizers were much more impressive than the entrees. For our mains, we got 2 of the filet mignon with eggs, the sirloin burger, the Lountza sandwich, the chicken souvlaki, the crispy shrimp wrap, and the shrimp roll. If we had to rank these dishes, the chicken would top the list, followed by the sirloin burger, and the rest would be last. Consistency in preparation and flavor profiles of the dishes is lacking. For example, we requested the filets cooked medium, however one filet was medium in some parts, medium rare in others. Personally, I enjoy medium rare and ate those pieces. As for the other filet, it was medium rare and borderline rare and inedible for my party. We requested additional heat for the dish, which the kitchen accommodated, but the meat came back basically well done SMH. While the chicken and burger were juicy and appetizing, the other dishes, albeit topped with many ingredients, were bland. Perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed, which resulted in receiving our entrees about two hours after placing the order and the poor, or at least decline in quality of, execution of our dishes. Considering the restaurant has been open almost two years, it is normal to expect experience in managing the weekend crowds. While we were advised about the hard stop on placing orders, it was a missed opportunity for our waiter to check if we wanted to add desserts to our meal. No warning or follow-up was made as the cutoff time was approaching. Normally, I would praise the experience and service, but the final straw was in the handling of leftovers and with the valet. We had several unfinished or untouched dishes we wanted packed to go. Upon checking the containers at home, not everything was packed. When waiting outside for our cars, one of our cars was already pulled up with the door open and ready to be driven away. Problem was, the car belonged to my sister, who was in the restroom at the time and had her ticket. Anyone could've driven her car away. Thankfully the valet cooperated and drove the car to the side and my sister retrieved it without incident. Overall, the experience was lengthy and off-putting. If you need a beautiful space with a good selection of small bites and have hours to spare, e.g. a special event, then this place is for you. If you are interested in a full meal, and have only 2-3 hours for a meal, this is not the place for you.
