Tried El Toro Steakhouse for the first time today and unfortunately, my party and I weren't super impressed by the end of it. First off, inside is very spacious with lots of indoor and a few outdoor seating. The place is well maintained and clean. It gives off a western vibe with its wooden interior and bull decorations. At the same time, it maintains a form of elegance with the nice tables. Ambiance rate 7.5/10. My family and I ordered... 1. Fried Calamari: This appetizer was okay, tasted like it's classic dish. Rate 7/10. 2. Filet Mignon Quesadillas: This appetizer was very delicious! The meat was very tender and the tortilla wrap was nice and crispy! Rate 10/10. 3. Rack of Lamb: This dish was upsetting because there wasn't a lot of meat on the rack. Plus, it wasn't cooked to my liking. The sauce was okay, nothing special. Rate 5/10. 4. Rib Eye Steak: This dish was very disappointing since it wasn't cooked to our liking. Plus, the meat was very chewy. However, the presentation of the dish was nice. Rate 3/10. 5. Porterhouse Steak: This dish was mediocre considering it wasn't cooked to our liking. Plus, it was very bland. However, the way they presented it by cutting, grilling, and serving it at the table was great! Rate 5/10. 6. Creamed Spinach This side did not taste good because the cheese tasted spoiled, and it had a very soupy like texture. Rate 4/10. 7. Parmesan Truffle Fries: These were very unsatisfying since I didn't even taste a single drop of truffle. Rate 2/10. It's important to note that all our specialty meats were all cooked well done when we ordered it to be medium to medium rare. The staff were very nice. However, the service was extremely slow. It took about 45 minutes for our main entrées to come out. This was surprising considering we were the only people in the restaurant during our meal. Staff/service rate 5/10. Overall, I wouldn't come back to this steakhouse due to the mediocrity and insipid taste of the dishes we ordered. read more

Best food I've had in a long time! Let's start with the heated rolls and the seasoned butter delicious excellent! Had the Caesar salad very fresh. The porterhouse steak for two was a wonderful deal. Cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes and vegetables was simply delicious.. We finished up with the Carmel cheesecake with a strawberry compote on the side. It was wonderful. I will be returning. My family had dinner here for my mothers birthday at her request as she had been there only 2 week prior and loved the food and experience and wanted to return for her birthday. This was my first time there and I was so impressed with the quality of the food, excellent service and overall ambiance. For starters we had lobster Mac and cheese, guacamole, calamari, char broiled oysters, octopus all which were great. For the mains, we ordered tomahawk steaks which included a tableside flambé with Don Julio. Steaks were cooked to our desired doneness. We also ordered the truffle scallop pasta and the scallops were cooked to perfectly. Pleasant surprise when we ordered desserts and were told that all the desserts were made in house by the former pasty chef from restaurant X. The desserts had beautiful presentation. Our favorite was the apple pie with the cinnamon ice cream. The service was outstanding. We were checked on multiple times during our dinner, water was always being refilled and our table was kept tidy as they removed any empty dishes instantly. El Toro has become our favorite local restaurant for date night. We've never had a meal here that we didn't like and the staff are so attentive and professional. There is a romantic fireplace that gives a warm,cozy vibe. We also love their Wednesday Oyster night special. It's something to look forward to to break up the work week. We held my grandmother's funeral reception luncheon here- the food was perfect and the staff were so attentive to my family. Their tomahawk steak is set aflame table side, which is fun and smells mouthwatering! I look forward to dining there again soon! read more

Ate here for the first time on a Thursday night and got their pre-fixe dinner for $39.99. I ordered the churasco steak w/mashed potatoes and veggies, mussels in white wine sause to start. Husband got the Picanha steak, same sides as me, and the Caesar salad to start. My food was very good but would have liked my steak to be more meaty as the cut I got was super thin. The mussels were the star of the night, they were so good. My husband didn't love his steak and said he probably won't order it again. And the carrots he got on his plate were overly salty. The service was great though. They were attentive and helped with all of our questions about their menu. We will back to sit at the bar and order appetizers. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at El Toro steakhouse and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. The restaurant not only boasted great food but also had a nice ambiance and awesome service. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by our server, Willie, who proved to be incredibly attentive and friendly throughout the evening. We opted for their pre-set menu, which included a small plate appetizer, an entree, dessert, and coffee, all for just $35. Since there were three of us, we decided to order three sets from the menu. For starters, we indulged in a shrimp cocktail, Buffalo wings, and meatballs - a delightful assortment. Moving on to the main course, we were treated to Skirt steak, NY strip steak, and Picanha steak. The portions were incredibly generous, and each steak was cooked to perfection with the right amount of seasoning and served at the correct temperature. The meat was tender and juicy, leaving us thoroughly satisfied with our choices. Despite the generous portions, we found ourselves unable to finish everything. We ended up taking our desserts to go, and there was still a substantial amount of food left to enjoy at home. El Toro steakhouse offers excellent value for the delicious food they serve. I can't emphasize enough the outstanding service we received from Willie. He made our dining experience enjoyable and memorable with his friendly and attentive nature. El Toro steakhouse has officially become our new favorite spot for steaks, and I highly recommend it to any meat lover out there. Tried el Toro for the first time yesterday with my hubs. It was a great date night experience! Oscar is a great bartender! He deserves 5 stars all around. He's very kind, creates delicious drinks and uses quality ingredients. If you don't go for the food - go for the drinks! The service is fantastic, the food was good. We did get the tomahawk for two and it was a little too fatty for both of us. The apps were great. The clams oreganato were delicious and we enjoyed the filet mignon fondue. I would go back to try other foods bc the experience is great. It is on the pricier side but the service and presentation is worth it. read more

I came here to try it for the first time with my hubby & parents. I must say we were all impressed with the friendly service & attention from start to end! We were greeted with a smile & seated promptly, being given the choice of where we'd like to sit. We were offered & served water, then warm bread & not rushed into placing our dinner order. Through each step of our meal, fresh clams, garlic & wine mussels, shrimp cocktail etc. the servers were attentive, removing plates, refilling our water, bringing more napkins etc. We ordered from the fixed price menu as well as from the Wed. Specials, all was reasonably priced. The food we had was delicious, all fresh, tasty & the presentation was lovely too! We ordered the red Sangria & that too was soooo good, no soggy fruit! Came for a second visit on Valentine's Day and couldn't have regretted it more. Reservations were made and given the holiday they had a set menu of 6 varied options per course (normal protocol, implied they knew how to handle). First course - 4 buffalo chicken wings and fried calamari took 45 minutes, second course two Caesar salads took 25 more minutes, and third course the surf and turf an additional 50 minutes (a full two hours after we sat down). Dessert was included but at 2.5hours (and 10:30pm), we gave up and took it to go. At an excess of $100 per person after tax and tip, there is no excuse for such wait times. The waitress finally acknowledged the issue after 90 minutes and blamed the kitchen. I guess they also pour the water and make soda as my husband's glass of Coke arrived an hour after ordered and only after we followed up and finished the first course. We observed the parties of another waiter fair about 30-45 minutes better than our section of tables. A man I presume was a leader came by while we were paying to inquire about our meal, make excuses for their obvious mismanagement (I have been to many Valentine's dinners and never waited two hours for an entree), and invite us back again (to spend $200+ and 2.5 hours for a fairly basic restaurant meal, no thanks). The food - buffalo wings, fried calamari, steak and mashed potatoes were all cooked well and enjoyable. The lobster tail was so overcooked it was tough to cut with a steak knife and not enjoyable (tougher to cut than the steak was). The veggies were standard steamed you would find at a buffet. The Caesar salads were most disappointing, they had such a weird sweetness that we couldn't get through half the bowl. Tables with the other waiter had bread, it may have been tasty as some got refills. Our waitress failed to provide or offer so I cannot opine. FWIW - I would have given my first visit four stars. Better service and main course, though the two soups we tried on that visits were surprisingly bland and unenjoyable. read more

It is a bit pricey. So keep that in mind. However the penne vodka was delicious! The surf and turf was good also. The portions are good but not good enough for the price, in my opinion. The waiters and the hostess were very nice. I will say when I went they were a little busy with the party they had but the service did not lack much. read more

The French onion soup was tasteless with globs and globs of cheese- the Caesar salad had limp lettuce with stale croutons! Three in party had steak and they said it was ok- one had chicken dish - another ok and the shrimp dish was very disappointing! the desserts were adequate (size and taste) although those served with ice cream came with melted ice cream. the martinis were good but the soda was very overpriced. the owners need to make some serious changes if they want to be successful! read more

First off the food is a little on the expensive side even tho it is a steak house .We had shrimp cocktail at 20$ and got only 4 shrimps and were a little rubbery texture and little sauce the bread they put on the table was over baked . The steak we ordered came out seasoned well. vegetables were ice cold tho and little of them so maybe they will get better being that they just opened we will try it again to see if it has gotten better read more

First let me say the food was prepared perfect. I had a ribeye and wifey had a skirt steak cooked very rare, just the way she likes it. atmosphere was nice. The price is what you would expect to pay for a upscale steak house. Now for the issues this place needs to do to justify price and stay in business. We were never offered water. Tap or bottled. How about cleaning off the table after every course. Nobody had water in the whole dining room. Loss of potential sales of bottled water. Nobody offered to put fresh pepper on my salad or steak. Dessert could have had powered sugar on it and my espresso could have been served either with a lemon peel or rock sugar. Change of silverware in between courses also. This is what other steak houses do. We are not talking a major menu change just want to feel like I went out for a special time at a special restaurant with unbelievable service. If management could step up their game on the service end, they already nailed the food end. I will try this place again in about 6 months and see if any changes. read more

This is kind of a casual type of steakhouse, but very comfortable and spacious. I've been here a few times, mostly for their nice 'prix fixe' weekday menu...which is a pretty good value. The food is usually decent but my last trip there was really disappointing. Tonight, the stuffed shrimp entree, which was quite nice during my previous visit, was pretty bad...overcooked and almost completely lacking the sauce with which it was supposed to be served. It also took a very long time for the food to come out. My guess is that it got 'lost in the shuffle' on a rather busy night there,and had to be re-heated...and ultimately ruined. I think the waiter knew it was sub-par and that was why he never came around to ask how my dinner was. On balance, the food and service was greatly lacking in quality on this visit. This should warrant '2 stars', but I'm giving it 3 based on the more favorable earlier visits. Still, though, I think I'll have to find a new venue because an inconsistent place is just too risky. read more

Rib Steak could have been used for shoe leather. Very disappointed with my dinner Chilean Sea Bass was good but, way over priced.

Food presentation was pretty and food was even better. Price fixed menu but portions did not disappoint. Delish !!
