La Terrazza is one of mine and my husband's favorite places. We typically eat in the bar area because we like the ambiance of it. Loved this place, chicken parm was the best and I ordered something not on the menu and was delicious and when I wasn't totally happy with how the tomatoes made my salad a bit mushy they offered to make it over and surprised me because it wasn't even on the menu I loved how accommodating they were. Love this restaurant! We had a Veteran's day dinner there on 11/11/25. The owners provide a free dinner to all Vets. Leslie was our waitress and she was exceptional, friendly and most attentive. We were a party of five and had a wonderful evening with the most delicious food. read more

Lisa was an amazing server. We were a party of 14 and she handled our table with much care and everything was smooth. it would've been a 5 star if it wasn't for the bartender. Whoever the male bartender was behind the bar on 4/18, was extremely nasty. I wanted to order a drink and he had a disgusting attitude. He was also being nasty to our server. I went to the bar to grab a separate drink and was talking down to our server for simply putting drinks in that she needed for the several tables being served. He was not pleasant at all. He had a horrible attitude with another member of my party too. If it wasn't for Lisa's great service and the food being great, the bartender would've gotten the whole restaurant a 1 star. Food could be better , service was ok but management misled us into booking a room that was too small for our party . They said the larger room was already booked but the day of our event we were the only party there . The decor and carpets also need to be updated . okay so when we got here we had a reservation at 6:30 and requested outside seating for our anniversary, we got to the restaurant at 6:15 and said it would be a 30 minute wait. We got sat around 6:45 and were sat at a table outside in the BAR area, took around 10 minutes for our server to see us at come to find out he's also working behind the bar. we order an app and it takes 15 minutes for the app to come out and we never received our bread service. after the app came out we finally could order a drink and asked where our bread was? After speaking with a manager we moved tables and had way better service. The girl was absolutely lovely and did an amazing job and was empathetic towards our situation. read more

CHECK THE BILL! 1) OVERCHARGED $270 for a repast lunch. Lucky to have recalculated the bill when I got home. Was offered a meek apology by the waitress stating they looked at the wrong package. Nothing else. 2). For drinks we ran a tab. No menu was provided and remember this is a repast lunch. When a glass of wine was requested no options were explained. So servers brought the $14 choice instead of offering the house wine option which was $9. 3). Not all appetizers on the chosen fixed menu were served. This was answered by changing the subject to how they adjusted the bill for the original error. How nice of them! Overall impression is that they are experts at bill padding when people are at their most vulnerable. Will most certainly not be going back. read more

Great food and service! We attended my nieces communion yesterday at La Terrezza. My husband and I have been here many times for dinner and drinks at the bar and the food is always good (especially the Seabass and Penne Vodka) so we were excited when my sister said she would be planning communion party at La Terrazza. I was shocked to see a past review complaining about service and gluten free options because our server (I think her name was Margaret) was amazing and they had several waitresses servicing our party and I ordered a gluten free dish w no problem. Everyone in our family had a good time and my cousin booked an upcoming graduation dinner on the way out! Highly recommend. read more

This past Sunday, December 26th, my husband and I got married at LA Terrazza. Brett and Lisa were extremely gracious hosts. They were there for us every step of the way with everything from menus to decorations to recommendations for vendors in the area. Our ceremony was beautiful. The officiant was lighthearted and performed the entire ceremony from memory. The room is beautifully decorated on its own with twinkle lights, a fire place and a warm feel. A few Christmas decorations of my own and my vision was complete. We can't thank the wait staff enough for being so wonderful to all of out guests! La Terrazza accommodated all of our guest' needs without hesitation. ALL OF THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS AND MORE THAN PLENTIFUL!!!! Thank you again Brett and Lisa for a truly memorable day!!!! read more

Even after that I noticed that theres a mandatory 20% gratuity on parties larger than 8. Sat with my 12 family members for my grandmas 80th birthday, I am dumbfounded. Completely ruined. My favorite Italian spot in Rockland County. Always come here on my birthday; get the lobster ravioli each time. I've never found another restaurant that makes it as good as them. We also tried the seafood stuff portobello mushrooms which were sooo delicious. Definitely recommend that. We tried the osso bucco for the first time and it was an easy new favorite. If I could give no stars I would. I am not one to complain, but I just had an awful experience having my daughters communion party at La Terraza in New City. I will preface by saying I have had not only held several events there but have also attended many there as well. In the past the service was great, the food was always good and I have always left feeling really happy about everything. Today unfortunately was a different story. We had my daughters communion party there, and from the start I could tell things weren't going as they have before. The man at the host desk was rude asking what we were there for. Then we sat and the service was awful. I won't get into the nitty gritty details and we all know what bad service is like. The waitress was solo with 13 adults and 8 kids she was overloaded and stressed. Telling us she was up late last night and feeling off. When paying the bill I told the owner how I was unhappy with the service and explained I had had many events there before and never had this issue. He was rude arguing me that nobody complained. Wasn't I telling him then? He told me the server was there for 25 years and I said maybe her day was off and maybe she didn't like us today. I am gluten free and told them ahead of time. A few people in my group are also gluten free. Prior to setting everything up I was assured there were plenty of gluten free options and they deal with it daily. When there today I was told we couldn't have any dessert, that we had no options. Meanwhile the kids had ice cream which is gluten free. I told the owner this as well he told me that they had no gluten free when I explained that ice cream is gluten free he argued me it wasn't. The bill was for 14 adults and 14 kids, we had 13 adults and 8 kids. I had my husband go up and discuss after he was extremely rude to me. He told my husband he gave me another bill ..... . The bill ended up getting adjusted. I am very upset considering how rude I was treated after dropping the money I did (in cash) as that was all that was accepted. I will not be back. Not one I'm sorry. Not one how can I make this better. What kind of hospitality is that? I will also add they were very quiet so it's not like they were super busy. I want to say..."It's just ok. " there were definitely disappointments. Let's start with the wine. They don't have a big selection on Merlot wines. I know their house isn't the greatest. The second is a decent wine (I'm not naming it on purpose). I do know that the bottle is $17 in the liquor store. I know bottles are more expensive when you buy it in a restaurant. However, here the cost was $48. I just didn't expect such a high mark up. Next apps. My friend and I ordered fried calamari. This was just ok. We also had the baked clams and they were terrible. Over cooked. Should have sent them back. We also had the jumbo shrimp cocktail. This was very good. 1 for 3. Not good odds. Dinner....my friend and I shared the bass dish. Comes with salad and side of veggies. They were nice enough to split the dish for us. I actually didn't plan on having a side salad but they gave us 2 (they split it...but was generous). Now for the main course... the fish. Cooked perfectly. Seriously was good. Veggies were good too. But that fish. Now mind you, buy this time I'm not very hungry. Apps and bread and wine was enough. We celebrated my sisters 80th Birthday and couldn't have chosen a more perfect place. We walked in and felt at home. So warm and comfortable. We were greeted by the owner who was so attentive and accommodating. We sat at the bar which is large and clean and ordered delicious drinks as we waited for the rest of our large party to arrive. We were seated and all searched the menu for the perfect dish. We shared several different appetizers and all ordered a different main dish and not one complaint. The fish was fresh, the pasta's al dente, the vegetables perfect and the sauces like mama's. Everyone enjoyed everything from appetizers to dessert including the ports. The servers were attentive and cheerful and helped guide us through our choices. A pleasurable experience at more than reasonable prices, that I can't wait to enjoy again. We were lucky enough to host my daughter's bridal shower last year & last week, her baby shower. The owners worked well with us to provide the best time for our guests. Food was delicious, chateau room is perfect, warm, comfy while remaining very classy.. one of our waitresses went above & beyond to make this perfect. Highly recommend. I had both my bridal and baby showers at La Terrazza and the food was really good at both affairs. I like that it is family owned and the staff is always friendly. I don't usually do take out but recently I had last minute guests coming into town so I called in some catering trays to go. The owner was super helpful and guided me on how much I needed. Okay , was there for a post baptism luncheon, the staff ....10000000% outstanding. never been treated better!! the room was a bit tight in seating but 15 kids still managed to run amuck without incident. their attention to personal requests was beyond belief...so great. The food was a hot buffet, 80% was great, the chicken in mairinara was very tough and not enjoyable, the penne/vodka was prefect,and the eggplant rollatini was above avg. the salad before dinner was ehhh a few types of greens 2 tomato slices and maybe a teaspoon of dressing. the deserts were pre frozen yet decent, the cake was a disaster, all falling apart and no taste at all. overall a great staff, yet no support and a decent place. nothing to rave about at all. read more

Unfortunately the owner and the staff here have no concept of customer service. Went in with a lunch gift certificate, which we showed to the waitress prior to sitting down to ask if there were any restrictions. Waitress said no restrictions, so we sat down and ordered. When we went to pay the bill and also provide the gift certificate we were told we could not use it. The website clearly states at the bottom, open Sunday all day for lunch and dinner! La terrazza gets 2 star for their service and their strong drinks...otherwise it is probably not a spot For a go to meal. I've never actually chosen to go here, most of the time it's for a family gathering of some sort and being that there are practically zero dining options in this neighborhood this may or may not be a last resort. I do find it so unfortunate that the food is just not good. This place is obviously labeled as an Italian restaurant however it doesn't quite do Italian food justice. As an Italian who cooks and goes to Italy often, it's not the best representation of their food. Let's start with their salad, its soggy and the dressing is so overly salted that it's almost hard to eat. Then the calamari...it was pretty smelly, so much so I was trying not to gag. I was there with family friends so I tried just 2 pieces (because yes, sometimes I guess I'm exaggerated) however, not to my surprise it was chewy & there was a piece of plastic in mine that I had to pull out of my mouth. (Yes this is real, I usually roll my eyes when I read reviews like these, but it seems as though they DO happen) So dangerous and not pleasant when you're thinking you can swallow the food. Dinner: Broiled salmon. It was just ok, bland and plain. I added salt, pepper & lemon and then on the side they give what every fake Italian place does, they put a side of overlooked mixed vegetables that are the consistency of baby food. My boyfriend got penne alla vodka, it was so over cooked it practically melted when it went in your mouth, the sauce was just ok. It LOOKED amazing, I wanted to Devour it when I saw it, but when I tasted it I was let down. His aunt who was seated next to me ordered pasta primavera...needless to say. It wasn't that. It was again, over cooked penne drenched completely in butter with some over cooked broccoli carrots and mushrooms. I feel bad leaving this review, I do. However being Italian, I hate letting people think that this is what Italian tastes like, when it is so much better. I think if this place learned how to cook pasta aldente and made some better sauces...and dishes in general, it could be slightly more successful. The service is pretty good, the staff is friendly, and the drinks are very strong. If you're out and looking to stop somewhere for a drink I guess you can pop a squat at their bar but otherwise I would avoid this place. read more

I enjoyed my food here. However, I was asked if I wanted cheese for my pasta, which I did. I assumed the waitress would grate the cheese over my pasta but instead, she went into a cabinet and got a bowl of grated pasta and sat it on my table and as I left, she returned it to the cabinet. I didn't use it because who knows who has laughed and coughed over it. Also, as I've begun to go out more, I've noticed that restaurants have done away with the typical menu that everybody touches, they have not.
