My first time visiting Fire & Cork and if I have a say, it wont be my last. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for dinner and I was impressed. First impression walking in, the place is beatifully decorated. It is tasteful and elegant yet inviting and family friendly. My first stop was to the restroom and I gotta say, the place looked spotless which gives you a sense of confidence in the cleanliness of the environment. I also noticed that it is a very large and open space which would be a perfect venue to celebrate any occasion as a big group. When I walked in I noticed that it was a lively and warm ambiace tha makes you feel comfortable to be there. The food: The food was great! Very tasty and fresh. I had the big boy burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was delicious and tho I knew it included jalapeños, I was surprised at how spicy it was. When I looked, it had big pieces of jalapeños w some seeds. No wonder it was too hot, not the jar jalapeños. I took some of it out and enjoyed the whole thing. I didn't finish my fries because they were soggy. No crunch at all. My date on the other hand, ordered a churrasco with yuca fries. The bartender messed up his order and brought him what is called "Portuguesa Churrascaria" which includes grilled skirt steak, pork chop, chicken, and chorizo with moro rice and sweet plantains. Tho it was not what he ordered, he was glad they served him that. It was delicious. It was nicely seasoned, nicely plated and overall very satisfying. Big serving! The yuca fries was dissapointing as I was expecting more of the typical latin crunchy yuca fries where it is first boiled and then fried. This was more like yuca puree, breaded and fried...think mozzarella sticks. Overall this place is worth visiting. Bring your date, bring your friends, bring yo mama, bring your kids, impress your clients...whatever! just visit, you wont regret it. This was a great option for a group dinner. They were easily able to accommodate or large party. Their dining rooms are big with lots of space as well as bar seating. They have a huge menu that has a little bit of everything.... Sushi, steak, burgers, salads, pasta & more. We went there for Mother's Day dinner with a group of 7 adults and one toddler. Made a reservation and was seated promptly. Server came over and greeted us, took drink orders too. We waited awhile for our drinks but it was a full house. After we got our drinks we waited for the server to come back and take dinner orders. Food was good but some things didn't have enough seasoning. Lemon chicken needed more lemon, rice and beans were tasteless. Might try lunch another time. read more

My partner & l Arrived at the bar and it was so sticky I had to clean it myself. I ordered a sangria and the bartender told me : "are you sure you want it? It's very strong!"He was assuming that as a female I couldn't handle a strong drink! . I said I'm sure I can handle it. Can I please have some? He gave me a little taste just so that I would try it. I tried it. It wasn't strong at all and I'm drinking it now. It's fine. I was offended by his sexist and rude comment assuming I couldn't handle a "strong"drink. Everytime I go there's a problem. Today, Mother's Day ... after waiting over an hour for a simple order , then after 2.5 hours and 2 messed up dishes resulting in me not eating... I decided to leave to salvage our Mother's Day ! The short rib ravioli tasted like "nothing". The table agreed. It was covered in spicy aioli sauce. The artichoke was good but the calamari was rubbery. I had a special. Gnocchi and lobster vodka sauce with spinach. I did enjoy it very creamy and gnocchi was lite and lobster tender Wife ordered short rib lobster with a creamy brandy sauce. She loved it. Ravioli was big size. Service was fine. Good was good. They do a great job with food preparation and plating, attentiveness, and overall cleanliness of the restaurant. This was my first time trying Fire & Cork after being told countless times to check it out, and I was not disappointed! I love that they offer a menu with tons of great options that are hard to choose from. They also have a Latin kitchen menu that I will definitely be trying next time. Also, the drinks are adorable and I highly recommend the Ginger and Pear Mule. It is a tiny bit pricey, but you really do get fresh, hot, and delicious food here. read more

The ambiance is very laid back - a little dark but fits with the furniture. Our waiter was amazing on top of it always checking on us and allow us to converse and have us a chance to look over the menu as some places want to rush you out! Meh. Thats the first thing that comes to mind when I think about my experience here. My friend ordered a Pear Martini and had to send it back b/c it smelt and tasted like some kind of fruity soap. I tried it and it was not good. She stuck with water after that. My cucumber refresher drink was okay, not the best, not the worst. I decided to go with the chicken parm, the menu was kind of all over the place. It was ok, the cheese taste on the spaghetti was off putting, I tried my friend's sesame chicken and that was TASTY! If I did fine myself here again, I'd get that. The churros were very hard and very disappointing. Service was good and our waiter was nice and attentive. Overall I wouldn't try to go back here. Too many misses with the food / drink. The ambiance is nice but it gets noisy. There was a 50th bday happening and the sound took over the whole one side. We had a baby shower this past Sunday at Fire and Cork for my "grandbaby on his way", and I'm still glowing from how perfect the entire experience was. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly and attentive to everyone. The private dining room was beautifully set up with custom linens and plenty of space for our guests to mingle along with the tables we had set up for a candy station, photo booth, gift and game table. Juan was an absolute dream to work with -- he helped plan everything with us from the food choices, table layouts and suggestions for arranging the "party area". The abundance of food was both delicious and at no time did anyone have to "wait" for food, as both the buffet and served appetizers were continuously being replenished! Not only was the bar continuously filled with drinks, but the staff were also serving refills of mimosas at our tables. The service was flawless! I can't recommend Fire and Cork enough for any special occasion, but especially for something as meaningful as a baby shower. It was warm, classy, and so well executed -- we truly felt celebrated. My team of around 8 people had our lunch meeting at this establishment and we couldn't have dined at a better place. It was a weekday around noon, and the restaurant had only 2 other groups dining in the restaurant so we had a lot of attention from the staff. They were helpful in selecting our appetizers to share which was plentiful. By the time our meals arrived we were stuffed but my salmon was good enough to bypass body's full signals. My friend and I decided to sit at the bar for a more casual happy hour experience. We started with a round of drinks. I asked the bartender for her opinion of one of their signature cocktails and she didn't have much to say... that being said, it was pretty but too sweet for my liking. The Moscow mule was made perfectly. Decided to switch up to their rose sangria and that was yummy. As for food, we started with the fried calamari and artichoke appetizer. Was Amazing! My husband and I are local to the New City location and my parents are local to the Blauvelt location. Safe to say we've been to both & love it! The atmosphere, food, and service have always been great. The yuca fries are my personal favorite and something that I order every time I'm there. I've had their brunch as well as their dinner. Enjoyed both. My husband is a big fan of the mussels and stuffed tostones with PP! I love the bruschetta and buratta. The breakfast burger is delicious, and so are the sandwiches! Last night we visited the New City location. My husband had the carbonara pasta last night and really enjoyed it. It wasn't the best carbonara he's had but he didn't have anything bad to say. Yes I recommend this spot for a great time, good food, friendly service from staff and owner Juan. Drinks are good and beers are cold! Apps are really good a lot to choose from. Menu has a wide variety, really good salads, sandwiches/burgers/paninis to full on meals. Latin fusion I would say the vibe of the menu is, but with a twist because you can order a pasta dish and that will be just as good. Place looks like a spot in the city, very clean classy look. Great ambiance for sure. The Bathroom are always clean. Glad we have something like this now in the area. I've read some reviews about how loud it gets, well that's because the drinks are flowing and ppl are having a blast. Located in a strip mall we found this spot and tried it for a quick lunch. The crispy calamari and artichoke was crispy and had the right amount of seasoning to it. The beet salad was massive and more than I could eat. Don't remember much else about the meal. They do have a bar if you want to have a bite and watch some tv. Our first time at F&C was a great experience. We were immediately greeted by the bartender and he said we can sit wherever. I was shocked to learn they have only been open for a year with another location opening in Blauvelt. Our drinks were abundant, great service and normal sized drinks. That is a pet peeve when you are charged $12 a drink for it to be served in a Dixie cup. Starter of tostones were so good, the garlic oil was over the top good! Chicken Milanese was perfectly cooked and dressed. Portions are as huge as the bar. Overall I give this 5 stars because everything was that good. The space has a great vibe. I was not impressed at all by the food. Let's start with the positive. The environment: clean, narrow, very casual, semi loud music. The waiter I had was amazing, she was knowledgeable of the menu and was very welcoming. The negative: Honestly, I was surprised this restaurant had high ratings after trying their food. The food was not what I expected. Presentation was amazing, it looked liked I could snap a picture and it would match a picture in a cook book. But flavors... not the best. I ordered the Chicken Milanese.... Again, it was very appealing... but the chicken (which was located under the salad) was very flavorless. Breaded chicken without salt or peppers!!!! I also ordered Penne in Pink Sauce with chicken.... The sauce was very ... mediocre. The chicken.. again, flavorless (mind you this chicken was not breaded). Husband ordered Grilled Ribeye Steak... He said he enjoyed the steak, but tasted better. We also ordered Lobster Pasta, And that was probably the best dish they had. Would I visit again? Recommend it to friends? Absolutely not.
