came here for the first time and was super impressed!!!! don't be put off by the fact that this place is in an old shopping center. when you step inside you will be transported into a trendy bar/restaurant! the ambiance is really spectacular and the servers were very attentive- top notch. I was impressed by how long the menu was and there are also many specials. it was hard to choose just one thing to order. food was spectacular and cocktails were delicious. Great "date night" spot. We went on a Saturday night and the place was super busy. You need to have a reservation. It is loud in there. Menu is large and lots of good options to pick from it was hard to decide. I had the NY strip and my husband had the scallops. Both were delicious. As an app we had the short rib egg rolls which were great for sharing and had a really nice sauce. We had dessert but didn't love it. We will be back!! read more

We found this place when we realized there was a 2 hour wait for food anywhere in Sleepy Hollow, NY on a Saturday night in October! Luckily we arrived just before the dinner rush because by the time we were done with our meal, every table in the house was full! The interior is divided into two separate spaces. One side is the main dining room where we sat, which has a nice corner booth for larger families. The other side has the bar, also with table seating. The ceilings are high, and the walls are darker and so it has a moody vibe. We all loved our food. My kids especially loved their French onion soup. My son thought his Wagyu sliders were amazing. My daughter had the filet mignon with lobster tail. The lobster tail was cooked to absolute perfection and that's really important to us. Nobody likes rubbery lobster. The filet mignon was not the best quality. Even though it was cooked to medium, it was a little tough as far as tenderloin goes, and it was oddly watery in texture. The highlight of our meal though were the amazing desserts made by their in-house pastry chef. You MUST save room for dessert here as they were all great. Such a nice spot, especially to be in a shopping center. Love the ambiance, a little dark but I personally like that. Everything we ate was VERY good and we sure did eat lol. The eggrolls, sliders, charcuterie board, Caesar salad were all great starters. I had the filet mignon which was one of the best steaks I've had, I wasn't used to the sauce/gravy but I actually enjoyed it with the potatoes. Drinks: Now to preface, my friends and I are margarita connoisseurs. I had the blackberry margarita and that was a little too sweet for me and the spicy margarita was okay. The espresso martini didn't taste like it had an espresso in it but they did make me another which I appreciated but still wasn't great. Because of the drinks I had to take away one star but I will definitely be back for the food and just drink some wine. Service was good and they were super busy inside. The service was great and food was great! We came to celebrate a birthday and it was a great experience. We ordered the Wagyu sliders and short rib rolls to start and were delicious! My wife and I dine here at least once a month -- more than 2 dozen times total -- and the food is always well above average. We always request the rear dining room, away from the bar noise, for a relaxing meal. Last night was apparently another Nova Kitchen meeting of "The Extremely Loud, Oblivious, Highly Obnoxious Dinner Club", and yet again those 13 people seated together gave us and those around us a headache and a ruined dining experience! Not the first time this has happened, nor day of the week dependent, at Nova, and when we left I told the always unprofessional and uncaring front of the house person -- this place deserves someone who at least gives the pretense of concern -- that from this point onward, if we make a reservation we be informed of any large parties in that room. Further, if we should arrive and see tables set for more than 8, we will leave! I realize a party of 2, 4 or 6 means less immediate revenue for a restaurant, but comments and exchanges between the tables last night and on previous occasions will cost more to Nova in the long run. We are fortunate to be able to dine out often, and the noise level here can be enough to generate excessive noise warnings from your Apple Watch! Tough situation for the Restaurant and those seeking any ambiance with their meal, but perhaps a more polished Staff could step in and ask nicely to consider the other Patrons around them and keep the shrieking, screaming and yelling to a minimum. read more

Our party of three dined at Nova Kitchen on a very cold Monday night and it was full (it was a holiday). The space isn't the most inviting. Lots of hard surfaces which combined with the very loud music made it hard for us to hear our server. For an appetizer I had the steakhouse bacon. It was a nice thick slice but it was lacking in the Calabrian chili flavor that was described on the menu. It was actually a little tough but by no means inedible. My husband had the beetroot and goat cheese salad and enjoyed it. I think our friend had something off the specials menu so I don't recall what he had but he didn't complain. For our entrees, I had the veal chop saltimbocca and it was delicious. The veal was tender and the flavors were full and rich. It was served with mashed potatoes which were above average. Hubby had the Berkshire pork chop and he loved it. I think he might have started gnawing on the bone if I'd let him. Our friend had the chicken Milanese and said it was extremely good and exactly what he was expecting. For dessert I had the chocolate chip croissant bread pudding and it was delicious. My husband had the carrot cake and said it was nothing special. It lacked the depth of warm spices that carrot cake usually has (full discourse: I am known for my carrot cake and my husband said mine is way better). Our friend had the key lime tart and said it was pretty good. Our server was friendly and professional and all our courses came out at the right time. They ask that you order your meal all at once and it worked out great. Again, the ambiance is what killed it for me. They need some curtains, carpeting and some art on the walls along with a warmer paint color. Will be back because the food was good and I'd like to try more things. read more

First time at this wonderful Italian restaurant. Unassumingly tucked into the corner of a strip mall on Rte 303 in Blauvelt, you enter a beautiful and warm space.The menu has something to please all tastes, from a variety of prime steak choices, traditional and modern pasta choices, chicken, and seafood. We were offered a an embarrassment of riches in specials. Two of my dinner companions shared a heaping Ceasar Salad, while my wife,and Ai chose one of the appetizer specials, potato leak soup. Our soup was enhanced by crispy pardons and truffle oil. My choice for a main was Zuppa de Pesce. It was an astounding heaping array of jumbo shrimp and in shell delights of a lobster tail, muscles, and claws in a fresh tomato broth over linguine. I wond up taking a third of it home. My dinner company were equally pleased with their seared scallops over risotto, and chicken milanese. We shared a truly wonderful tracksuit. The Beef Wellington RAW sent back then they bring it back not a new one but the same one with the puff pastry off of the meat??? Are you kidding me!!! Then the Fish special dry as anything. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! This amazing restaurant has wonderful low light ambience and fantastic service! The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. The owner works along side of her staff, pitches in where needed and visits each table to ensure everyone is satisfied. The drinks are delicious. I especially like the smoked Old-Fashioned! The food is perfection. I had the vegetable dumpling appetizers, which were very good- wonderful taste. Then I had the Beef Wellington for my main course. A top notch piece of meat surrounded by a light puffed pastry cooked to perfection! Everyone, 4 of us, enjoyed our meals. The NY cheesecake was wonderful and light. A perfect end to a delicious meal. Was looking for a restaurant for dinner for hubby's birthday n found novo kitchen w great reviews. Thought we'd try it. And sure enough made a good choice. Looks are deceptive. Restaurant is in a strip mall. Clean comfy restaurant w friendly staff. We started off w the baked Brie with apples n cranberry chutney, granny apple salad and the beet salad. The baked Brie was small but delicious. The granny apple salad had candied walnuts,feta cheese and a very nice dressing. Was yummy n so was the beet salad w arugula walnuts n a nice dressing. For entree had the trout special that was pan fried crisp n came w gnocchi , mushrooms , asparagus n in a leek wine sauce. The bronzino was pan fried n came w mascarpone saffron risotto. And the 9 oz steak w Yukon mashed potato n sautéed spinach. Steak was juicy n moist n mashed potatoes yummy. We topped it off w the key lime pie n salted caramel tart. They were so good. This is honestly one of the best restaurants in Rockland. Expect service with a smile, and attention to detail. If you decide to start with a cocktail, you won't be disappointed. Perfect mixology. Having been there about a half dozen times, I can tell you without any hesitation, you're going to love your meal. Every morsel I've tasted has been nothing short of culinary excellence. The Michelin Guide should probably create a category for strip mall excellence, after all this is America 2022 and if your bribe me for a reservation bistro isn't next to a vape shop and an eyebrow threader, you're nowhere. But I'll save that discussion for another day. Nova Kitchen in Blauvelt, New York serves as fine of a menu as I've had, with service that is as crisp and professional as you'll find in an era of employment turbulence and blank stare buffoons who routinely demand four figure paychecks to serve attitude along with your appetizer. That's worth five stars all by itself. Turning the page, the place is crowded, loud and industrial with the backwards baseball cap bar crowd ricocheting decibels off the gun metal grey, matte black ceiling superstructure like a Boeing wind tunnel. When it comes to modern restaurant design I continue to be amazed that loudness is a perfectly acceptable surrogate for conversation. My crispy duck entree didn't seem to mind however, as it was very dead, very deaf and very delicious. In fact, everybody raved about the food so my inevitable laryngitis will have been for a noble cause. Next time I'll remember to turn my baseball cap around, bring lozenges and a bullhorn but... there will absolutely be a next time. Five easy stars. read more

I don't know how anyone can call this a romantic place. Wife and I have been here several times and it's always the same - fabulous food and noisy atmosphere. Five stars for the food. We went there last night and as we entered were greeted by the sound of loud, noisy drinkers at the bar. At the table the bar noise was ever present and it was supplemented by loud music from Jersey Boys, Beach Boys, Air supply etc. Great atmosphere for a wonderful meal. We had lobster risotto, scallops and shrimp; all were just wonderful as was the service. The restaurant has added an additional room but they should also have done something to muffle the bar noise. We will return for the great food. Hopefully they will turn down the noise. read more

Highly recommend!!!!!!! Best restaurant off of 303 in Blauvelt, NY. The atmosphere is lovely- dim lighting, a nice bar and plenty of tables. The service and staff are terrific! Everyone is so friendly and attentive. I try French onion soup any chance I get and this by far is the best French onion soup I've ever had! I've been back many times for it I like to sit at the bar and snack on the delicious appetizers- the bartenders mix up great drinks! My 5 star rating is really a 4.5 rating. The food and service in this gem of a restaurant are definitely each worth five stars. Our party of four had the branzino, the strip steak, zuppa de pesce, and the ribeye. Silence overtook our table as each one of us enthusiastically and happily tucked into some of the finest restaurant food we've had in a while. Each of the two steaks (one medium rare, one well done) was tender, juicy, and very flavorful. The zuppa de pesce was a beast; a tremendous amount of seafood including lobster tail, shrimp, clams, and mussels in a very tasty sauce. My friend declared it to be one of the best he's ever had. The branzino was polished off and declared to be really good. Even though the room was crowded, our server was terrific. He was very pleasant and was there when needed without being intrusive. Our courses were paced perfectly and the water glasses were kept full. All in all it was a great meal. OK, why the heck are they getting a 4.5 rating? One problem: the noise. The vibe in the room (which is half occupied by the bar) is very loud and energetic. At times it was difficult for us to hear each other's conversation, especially with a woman nearby at the bar whose piercing shrill laughter I will continue to hear in my nightmares. It got better as the night progressed since folks started to leave, but it was enough to prevent this from being a grand slam. Really great Food! Here are the details to help with your order: Apps-- Beef Short Rib Rolls: Delicous. Filled with a generous amount of meat. Very tender with a great sauce. Very rich and filling. Lobster Risotto: Delicous. Dense dish with tender pieces of lobster. Very rich and filling. French Onion Soup: Delicous soup with an amazing broth. Not salty at all and tastes home made vs other restaurants that use bouillon cubes. Perfectly browned gruyere cheese topping. Duck Dumplings: Delicous with a generous amount of tender minced duck meat. Crispy shell with a great sauce. Entrees: Grilled Filet Mignon: The best steak ever! (And we've had A LOT of steak) High quality meat, amazingly tender and cooked perfectly. The herbed bordelaise sauce is absolutely fantastic. Mashed potatoes are soft and creamy. Very good price for the size and quality of the steak. "Angry" Stuffed Shrimp: A good dish but not as stellar as other menu items. Good quality shrimp and cooked well. Shrimp weren't Angry which was a bit disappointing. Stuffing a bit mushy for our taste without a defined taste. Would have preferred more texture. This is personal preference. Other Notes: Crusty warm small rolls served with an herb butter. Great wine and beverage list. Good pour on the glass of wine. Many of the Apps we tried are very rich so order accordingly. Only ding...Restaurant is shockingly dark. We were the only ones in the dining room 6:30 on a Thursday night so we asked if they could turn up the lights a little which they did accommodate. Even then it was still dark. There are 2 areas. A long bar area that also has dining tables and a long dining room. They are separated by a wall which is mostly glass.
