Went here for my anniversary prior to a show at Levity Live. The menu had a nice variety of choices. We all had drinks they were all delish. They do have a drink menu. The appetizers we fabulous. There were 8 of us and everyone loved their choices. Had short rib egg rolls, wags meatballs, escargot. Then came the main courses which were all delicious. I would definitely return. They nailed my appetizers: Octopus and duck dumplings. We ordered mushroom orecchiette - it had a rich taste of truffle. Duck came out very soft, meat was falling apart from the bone. Paired well with roasted Brussels sprouts and orange sauce. Red wine was served warm which I didn't like but easily corrected with an ice bucket. I would stick to bar drinks next time. Attentive service- I liked how they waited for the plates to be finished before cleaning them. Didn't wait long for the dishes to come out. These guys know their stuff. Nova Kitchen is a revelation, one of the finest restaurants in the entire Hudson Valley. Tucked away in a nondescript and unpretentious little strip mall on Route 303, you might miss it. But that would be a mistake, because it's a really terrific place, a hidden gem that you'll want to explore. We just had a fantastic meal there, six of us celebrating a birthday. We wanted to try everything, so we bought a bunch of apps and entrees to share. The highlights include: * An absolutely fantastic take on Beef Wellington, which was a special appetizer but was big enough and satisfying enough for a meal. The filet was perfectly cooked, and the pastry was moist and tasty. * Another great appetizer in the grilled octopus, which was tender and set off wonderfully by the chorizo bits underneath. * A sweet baked brie, which brought back memories of holiday treats from when I was a kid. * Short Rib beef ragu, a braised and shredded short rib platter with pappardelle that had a tang of sweetness and was delicious. * Just about the best Zuppa di Pesce I've ever had. I'm always reluctant to get fish stews, because 90% of the time the shellfish gets overcooked, but the hostess strongly recommended it and was right. It was great: a piquant far diablo sauce with perfectly cooked shellfish and fresh linguini. Really delicious. * A beautifully cooked Bronzino filet, crispy and light and perfectly browned at the edges. All in all, a spectacular meal. It's a lovely experience. The space is beautiful, clean and elegant but not at all fussy. A long bar as you enter, which then opens up to a larger dining area. It's very roomy: high ceilings with some exposed piping that adds to the casual but upscale vibe. It's very comfortable. And the service is terrific. A professional waitstaff, friendly bartenders, and a charming hostess who led us to our seats. It was one of the best meals I've ever had in Rockland County, and I hope you get a chance to check it out. read more

Just had my second visit to Nova Kitchen last night. Highly recommend making a reservation as it was very busy at the dinner hour. Service was excellent and all the staff was super friendly! We started off with the Baked Brie (which was baked in an amazing light puff pasty) and the chicken dumplings (which were out of this world!). For the main course, I had the roast duck. It was moist, and perfectly crisp on the outside. On the side were stir fried noodles which turned out to be a perfect accompaniment to the duck. My daughter had Filet Mignon which was perfectly cooked to her desire. The filet came with veggies and garlic mashed on the side. She absolutely loved it! Although we were full, we didn't want to miss the opportunity to try a dessert, as the restaurant chef is known to do amazing desserts. We got the flan which was light and delicious. It was the perfect end to an amazing meal ! Highly recommend. I will definitely make this a regular spot! read more

Apparently Nova Kitchen just opened a week ago and already we're hooked. My wife and I sat at the bar on Sunday night and again on Tuesday. The bartenders are super friendly, skilled and nice. We prefer bar dining so bartenders are very important to us. The owner, Mabel is running the front. She clearly knows what she's doing. Her presence is outgoing, commanding, and very welcoming. Her husband is the chef and he's obviously quite talented. On Sunday I had the best French Onion soup I've had in ages and Chicken Scarpariello which was served in an open top casserole pan. The flavors were delicious. One large French cut chicken breast was the centerpiece surrounded by large slices of delicious sausage and chunks of red bliss potatoes, peppers and onions. Yesterday I had the Lobster Risotto with big chunks of lobster and creamy rice the way I like it. For an entree I had Chicken Milanese. Juicy, freshly fried chicken cutlet pieces topped with a flavorful salad and ripe tomatoes. Yummy. My wife had Baked Brie and the Apple Salad topped with chicken. She devoured both and said they were delicious. We didn't have dessert yet but we were told most are made in house. Can't wait to try them. We will definitely be back. read more

The service here is impeccable. We came here on a Friday night as a group of 5 with a young toddler, and the staff were incredibly accommodating. Everything we ordered tasted great, and the food came out hot and without a long wait time. This restaurant became packed very quickly and it's easy to see why! read more

The food ... was amazing!! I got the rib eye steak that came with jumbo shrimp, mashed potatoes, and Brussels sprouts (Brussels sprouts were so good). I honestly dived right in so there are no pictures lol. The bartender was truly a master of her craft, I wish I grabbed her name to give her proper credit . I got the lychee martini (chefs kiss) and it was the best I've ever had anywhere. Please please go to this gem of a restaurant. Highly suggest making reservations. Me and my friend did not, thinking we could just walk in, so we sat at the bar but it was fine. The only thing I would have to say that can improve is the lighting. It was super dark in there, like a little too dark where I almost could not see the menu and the lighting never adjusted even as it started getting dark outside. Sorry to be a buzzkill here but I don't think this is a 5 star restaurant. Wondering if discernment is beginning to wane. Here's my experience. Got a reservation easy peasy. Sweet friendly person on the phone. Location of this place is in a strip mall. Ok let's move past that. We are in America after all. Dark, poorly decorated, looks tacky. Nothing classy about this place at all. HOWEVER out comes the food and there is a little surprise. It's not BAD! The lobster risotto in fact was excellent. Cooked extremely well and seasoned perfectly. The mahi mahi was just ok. A bit dry and boring but totally acceptable. Caeser salad was good, steak was good. The burrata a bit tasteless and watery. Waitstaff was nice but not over the top. TV's & the decor in this place bring it down to a sports bar level but the food is definitely higher up than that. That was the strange dichotomy. It is NOT the best restaurant in Rockland County and it makes me sad to read this is the best meal some people have had in awhile. Obviously they're not getting out much. Roost still rules. I personally could not get past the loud noise, dark decor, lack of ambiance and tv's. The prices were fair read more

Went for the first time because of feedback from friends... Had much Steak dinners recently so looked through selection. Had outstanding appetizers (Burrata and Octopus) and main dishes ("Angry" Stuffed Shrimp and Roasted Duck) choices. Can't wait to try the rest of the menu. Wow! First time visiting this restaurant and we are sure to become regulars. When we walked in on a Saturday evening, the place was bustling and the atmosphere was sophisticated. We met friends and sat for more than 3 hours at our table, enjoying cocktails and course after course of terrific food. No one ever made us feel pressured to hurry, as many busy restaurants do. My husband had the escargot and it was perfectly cooked. He had the duck l'orange and said it was crispy and juicy. The rest of us had the lobster, scallops and shrimp dish, which was spectacular. A whole bounty of seafood is nestled in a light, fragrant cream sauce, poured over a bed a silky potatoes. Dessert was also beautiful and delicious. Tonight my husband and I came to Nova for dinner. Wow! This place surpassed any expectations we could have had. The food was so delicious and the service was excellent. Our waiter Miguel was awesome. The ambiance is really inviting and warm. They have a lovely bar also. All of our apps and entrees were so yummy. We ordered the grilled shrimp, chicken dumplings and cauliflower soup. For dinner, my husband had the pork chop and I had the filet mignon. Everything was amazing and mouthwatering. You also have to get dessert. All desserts are homemade by their in-house pastry chef. We ordered the special Napoleon which was beyond. Mabel the owner was so lovely. We really enjoyed talking to her. She was warm and personable and we can't wait to come Back again. Ambiance is a little dark, but not a deal breaker. The service is top notch, though. And the food... well, you really need to try it, but be forewarned, it will probably ruin you for other restaurants. These people know how to do it, unlike the previous tenants. Apple wood smoked burrata, anyone? The grilled Octopus appetizer was expertly prepared with a nice blend of chorizo, onions and potatoes, so yummy, the octopus was cooked to perfection. For entrees, I could rave forever about their very authentic Carbonara with fresh pasta, on my, the egg was like a candle on a birthday cake. The best carbonara I've had outside of Italy, maybe in Italy as well, it was that good. My wife enjoyed her Chicken Milanese thoroughly, stating the fresh tomatoes and arugula were incredibly tasty. My daughter had the short rib ragu with fresh pappardelle. She said the beef was incredibly tender and the dish was delicious. Nice work by the barmaid, our drinks were tasty and expertly prepared. One of the best dining experiences in Rockland County at this restaurant. The staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. The dining room is dimly lit with a long bar and a number of tables. The best is the food which included for us the Cesar salad, Lamp chops, rack of lamb and roast duck. Each entre was delicious and cooked exactly as ordered. With our coffees they left a bottle of Sambuca to add to the mix. The dessert we all enjoyed was the creme brulee, cooked so well and delicious. You have to try this restaurant, but make a reservation first or you won't get the great dining experience we had. read more

The food here is amazing. I can honestly say it was one of the best meals I've had in years. Every dish we had was perfection. Service was top notch, warm and friendly yet professional. On the negative side, the place is very loud. Some noise dampening panels could possibly help. It was also rather warm inside and even after asking to get the a/c adjusted it didn't seem to help. It felt like it was over 75 degrees inside. To sum it up though, I would completely and totally recommend this place and we will most certainly keep this on our "regular" list and plan to visit often. The food and service were so exceptional that we can overlook the noise and the challenged air conditioning. I'm going to make a guess that within a few years this place will be so popular that they will move into a larger and more comfortable space. First time at Nova Kitchen. I took my wife out for her birthday dinner and we couldn't have been happier about our decision. Everything about the experience was superb. The food was delicious and beautifully prepared. We shared the waygu beef sliders, the chicken lemongrass dumplings, and a carrot bisque soup that were all outstanding. The ribeye with scampi and rack of lamb were equally wonderful. Not only was the food beautifully prepared and plated, but the service was professional yet friendly, and ambiance was warm and welcoming. Mabel, the owner, even came over to chat, and she was terrific. My wife and I have dined throughout Rockland, Westchester, and North Jersey, but Nova Kitchen may be our new go-to favorite. Me and my gf stopped in on a Thursday night thinking it wouldn't be crowded and didn't need a reservation but ends up we did only had to wait 10 minutes. This place is FANTASTIC. It was one of the best meals I've had in a long time especially in Rockland county. This restraunt is easily one of the best in rockland it's expensive but the food was absolutely delicious. I would recommended this place to anybody if they' want a nice date night with their significant other this is the spot! read more
