First off, service was very friendly and quick! and every single dish we ordered was delicious. The paella is a lot of food (we ordered the for two option for both) and the small dishes were great to taste!

I had been eyeing this place for a very long time and I loved being able to finally eat here! We visited on a Sunday afternoon, and there weren't many people there (thankfully). It is just so cozy inside of this restaurant. If you don't like sitting too closely to people, you'd better hope there are available seats near the window :) The service was great, the food was great. I definitely plan on coming back! My first time having basque food was a success!

Good food, great staff, hard to park Came here on a whim, looking for a place to eat. Girlfriend really wanted mussels, so we came here. The place is small, there's parking by the pier but it's very cramped. You also need to walk to the front of the restaurant to get in. Because this place is attached to a very affluent Main Street, there's a lot of foot traffic. Lines out the door are commonplace. But the interior is modern and clean. Our server was very nice and helped with the menu. We got the mussels, but also tuna, chorizo, and meatballs. Star of the show was the tuna. Spicy, fresh, properly seared and the balsamic drizzle gave it the sweet vinegar bite it needed. Well composed dish, enjoyed that one. Girlfriend loved the mussels, the spicy ragu was a good compliment to the meaty mussels. She are almost the entire dish on her own. The meatballs and chorizo were lacking. The chorizo was seared well but had no flavor. Kind of tasted like a generic sausage seared up and cut up. We did not ask for it to be taken off, but the server did so automatically. That's very good customer service in my book. The meatball was dense but the ragu was flavorful. The meat mix was more pork than beef, but still tasty. It was pricy for tapas, but pretty good overall. An option to eat if they are not busy. If they are, then there's a lot of spots to try locally

We walked in at 5:30 PM on a Saturday night and it was packed. We thought we were being early birds LOL. We were told 1 hour + for a table for 2. Luckily two people happened to be leaving the bar when we got there and we snatched those two seats. We came here because we really wanted paella. We ordered a bottle of white wine and put in our order for the paella since we overheard that it takes about 45 minutes to make. While we waited, we had pan con tomate which was delicious. We also had the Pulpo La plancha which sadly was a bit overcooked. Marisco paella was full of great seafood. We were very happy with this dish. This restaurant is SMALL, but full of Spanish flair. We ate at the bar and we chatted with the bartenders and the people around us. We had a great time!

PAN con TOMATE ~ Fresh tomato spread, olive oil, garlic, Iberico ham over country toast - an exceptional plate.

Wanted to update this since we enjoyed such a fabulous experience. Basque never disappoints. I wanted to upload the meatball dish and Iberico but I guess there is a picture limit. The shrimp dish is one of my favorites with garlic and olive oil - highly recommended- iberique is a must. Don't forget their fabulous wines too!

I'd give this place 6 stars were that possible. Everything is jaw-droppingly delicious, and we couldn't believe the amount of food we consumed in one sitting - my husband finished the entire plate of lamb chops, on top of eating 5 other tapas. This place is very popular, hence always crowded, and they don't take reservation for parties under 6. All servers are good-looking men :-) but super friendly and attentive. We are sure to come back and try out more things on their menu. One friend told me that their vegetarian paella was "to die for".

Paella and Albarino for the win! As soon as we stepped inside Basque, we felt right at home. It's a small, cozy spot and it felt like we were dining with locals. Our dinner at Basque was delicious, and the service was great. The seafood paella was so good! The portions are pretty generous so make sure to come hungry. We also had the potatoes and my only complaint is that it was smothered in sauce. Empanadas were tasty and the churros con chocolate was next level. LOVED our night out here! Great place for a date or a dinner out with friends. P.S. They have a parking lot in the back.

We picked this place for trying out some good tapas and Paellas, and they didn't disappoint. Just quality and sublime food served here. The restaurant is situated in the river banks of Piermont, there's a parking lot, that literally has a pavement deck into the river. The restaurant is small, but has a nice bar and comfortable ambiance. The menu has nice collection of tapas, few Paellas , entrees, salad and soup. Lots of wine and drinks are also served here. We got the filet mignon and lamb chop tapas to start. They were prepared so well. Perfect temperature, tender meat, dishes made with complimenting vegetables. We ordered the seafood Paella for four. It takes about 25 minutes to prepare, so let them know asap. It was a massive, full of mussels, shrimps, clamps, scallops and baby squids. All served on top of yummy yellow rice. Four grown ups combined, we managed to finish only half of the plate, rest we took home and over next couple of days. It was still very delicious. We ended our lunch with Flan, that was sweet and soft. Overall we loved the food. But the service was little spotty, as we saw only one server attending all the tables. It was little overwhelming for the person, working in a full house shift. I also didn't like the fact they charged for every soda refill, even though the glass holds least than half a can soda, filled with ice. Despite some of these shortfalls, I still recommend this place for the superior quality of their food.

Basque Tapas Bar first came to my attention about a month ago when I was in Tarrytown - they have a location in the village and since I'm a fan of tapas I bookmarked it. Some time later I was talking to my friend Mercedes C about Basque - she mentioned she had been to their original location Piermont and had great things to say. I was in the area for another engagement with one of my friends and we were looking to grab some food beforehand - a Yelp search resulted in the Piermont Basque popping up a mere few miles away, so we made plans to stop by here for an early Sunday dinner. Basque is located in Piermont right on the Hudson River. The restaurant isn't large - walking in you're immediately greeted by the bar area with seating and a few tables, along with additional tables in the back. The restaurant is modestly decorated - mostly wood tables with clean lines. As the name suggests, the menu is mostly composed of tapas. Additionally, they have a selection paellas, charcuterie boards, and larger dishes; we wanted tapas, so I focused my attention there. They had a good selection of proteins, veg, and starches. We decided to go with four: ham croquettes, spicy filet mignon, garlic shrimp, and the empanadas. Additionally, we decided to get a cheeseboard, because cheese. Everything was really tasty - the filet mignon was a standout, but the winner for me was the garlic shrimp. Lots of plump shrimp in a tasty sauce topped with LOTS of garlic. I love garlic and too much is never enough - I was living my best life. The cheeseboard was also good - it was a generous helping of cheese paired with sweet jelly to cut the sharpness and little breadsticks for that carbohydrate touch. For dessert we shared two: the piña colada cheesecake and the warm apple galette. These were okay - the cheesecake didn't have enough flavor and the galette wasn't the easiest thing to maneuver (the pastry was too stretchy and hard to break). I wouldn't come here for the dessert. Service was good, food came out super fast and everyone was friendly. Overall, I really had a great time at Basque; even though I wasn't a fan of the desserts, the strength of their tapas made up for it. I would have to qualms returning, and definitely want to check out their Tarrytown location soon.

We came on Easter Sunday for dinner hoping we'd get a table (they don't take reservations for smaller parties). It was our lucky day! We got seated fairly quickly and within minutes a nice pitcher of sangria and ham/cheese platter were on our table. Then we ordered the sardines wrapped in endive (Boquerones), and the pulpo al a plancha (grilled octopus). Both delicious choices. For our meal we split the seafood paella and the skirt steak. The paella was very nice, and my dad commented that the steak was "T & T" - Tasty and Tender. Big compliment coming from Mr Picky!! We ended the meal with the Pistachio Tartuffo (quite good) and the churros (2 out of 4 liked them. The other 2 thought they were too hard/tough). Service was great, the place has a nice welcoming vibe to it. Not pretentious at all. Definitely on our "come again" list

We overheard the owner of the restaurant literally tell his staff to get rid of us in five minutes plus some additional choice words that I won't repeat. We are a family of 8 and we were trying to celebrate my birthday. We are not a rowdy group (no one would have heard us if we were noisy because it's so loud already) and we were just trying to have a nice meal together. I confronted the owner who denied everything. I told him that we won't be back. He displayed the most disgraceful attitude I've ever experienced in a restaurant. I do not recommend this establishment or the other restaurant Lani's that this man owns (worst food I ever had for way too much money and again no room to even breathe). This person who is the owner is a real piece of work. He will lose a whole lot of customers. Shame on you! I'm embarrassed for the owner behaving like an animal in front of my family. Never again. Just for reference, our reservation was for 6pm and we were out of the door at 7:45pm. Also. I'd like to note that the wait staff was very good, too bad they have to work under the thumb of a jerk.

This restaurant has so much potential... great location by the Hudson, the menu sounds delicious,…read moreand a party room available if needed. Unfortunately, we were left feeling pretty underwhelmed. First off, the food took quite long to come out. Nobody came to the guests of honor to let them know what was going on. It wasn't until the guests of honor said something to the staff that everything "sped up". It was all very reactive instead of proactive. Secondly, the food was left a bit to be desired. The chicken parmigiana was unfortunately pretty dry for something that had sauce, while the salmon (although moist) lacked a bit of flavor and could have used a sauce. Make it make sense please?! Some of the items seemed like they were not made from the scratch, i.e. the pizza and the crispy mashed potatoes. The best dish of the night was the penne vodka. I honestly wish they brought more of that out, but for some reason the portions for that dish were quite small. It seemed like they just ran out of that dish, and just put any small amount on the plates. Towards the end of the night, it just seemed like the staff stopped caring about the guests, and were just phoning it in. They barely came to check on us. Even any chain restaurant would do something as easy as that. At some point, even the drink orders came out wrong. Sprite instead of water for all of the guests, coffee for people who didn't order coffee, alcoholic drinks that were given to the wrong guests. And literally nobody was there to help the guests of honor cut and serve the cake. The guests of honor had to use a butter knife to cut the cake because nobody came to provide a proper knife or even offer to take the cake and cut it. With the slow service and the amount of time the food took to come out, I think it would have been more understandable if the food was amazing and/or presented well, but it was honestly as pretty basic as you can get. All in all, I feel pretty bad for the guests of honor that they had to experience such a thing: Basic food, inattentive service, and lackluster management.

There were extreme wait times between every course, to the point where half of our guests left before cake because we were sitting around with no waitress in sight. Our server barely came to the table at all -- no check-ins, no refills, no asking if we needed anything. She didn't even bring Parmesan cheese for the pasta course, which we asked for multiple times. My husband ended up going into the kitchen several times just to find someone to help us. The food was just as bad. Many dishes were undercooked, poorly seasoned, or simply inedible. My husband and I couldn't eat our meals at all. The children's chicken fingers were so bad even my nine-year-old refused to eat them, and several family members left their plates untouched because the food tasted that terrible. One of our dishes even had a hair in it, which is completely unacceptable. By the time we were ready for cake, we waited so long for staff to return that my husband went and got the plates and knife himself just so we could cut the cake and leave. The entire experience was stressful, embarrassing, and nothing like what we expected for such an important milestone. We spoke with the manager, and although she claimed she wanted to make it right, very little was actually done to fix or acknowledge how bad the situation was. I rarely write negative reviews, but what happened at this restaurant was beyond disappointing. I would not recommend hosting any type of event here based on our experience.

I would give it 5 stars. Our waitress Swe, was delightful, kind, happy, described the dishes, gave suggestions, she is what you would expect from a waitress. Even the food runners were excellent, smiled and said hello when they approached the table. The service was definitely 5 star. The Food, presentation was excellent. The flavors, just weren't there. We started with these beautiful onion rings which were house made. Big, beautiful and fried to a crisp golden perfection, yet taste, there was none. absolutely nothing. the most boring onion ring ever. Then the wedge salad, chopped and soggy. If your going to reinvent a classic salad, it better be good. I had the seared yellow fin tuna, again what happen to the flavor. it had a carrot ginger puree, that was more for color than flavor. the best part was the arugula pickled onions and tomatoes that came on the plate. My dinner partner had 16 oz prime dry age rib eye, which he did not enjoy. I am not a meat eater but tastes it and was not impressed. this steak was so thin. they took 16oz and spread it across the entire plate, taking away the true essences of a steak. I was pretty disappointed in the food but the cocktails were very good as well as their wine-selection. I beautiful place with great staff, which i would go back maybe just for happy hour. One other disappointment is with being such an nice steakhouse and all of the staff dressed and all so professional why isn't there any type os dressed code. Why are they allowing people to dine in sweatpants and messy t shirts. They should have a requirement. most diners were dressed so nice but allowing sweat pants. my two star rating is based solely on the flavor of the food.

We were the first ones there by accident which can feel funny but Izzy was so warm and welcoming and very eager to meet us and tell us about the epic menu and the show stopping desserts. We told Izzy our drink preferences and he nailed it each drink. We started with a dozen oysters that were incredible and shocked perfectly. Then followed that with the bone marrow which had a tasteful amount of chimichurri sauce and a side of crunchy salt to use for your liking. It was delicious! We were temped to next get the octopus but needed room for the "bar only specials" which is a brilliant idea very unique. It was a wagu blend cheese burger with arugula and a delicious black garlic spread and perfectly cooked fries. Perfect for sharing! A dinner isn't complete without an espresso martini! I highly recommend this place to any food enthusiast and fan of wine, spirits and excellent desserts. Lastly the decor was also amazing. The chef's not only designs top notch desserts he also did the wood work art along the bar. I also loved the pictures of all the people in the back of the restaurant over the course of there decades of business. Lastly the history is incredible it use to be the village hall and jailhouse! If you're lucky enough to visit on a night when Izzy is behind the bar, consider yourself fortunate. He's not only a "DJ" of cocktails, but warm, friendly, and fun to be around.
