One of our go-to spots! They have the best burger in the area, and I love the crispy potatoes that come on the side. The gem salad is always fresh and enjoyable. The truffle mushroom toast is excellent and decadent. I usually order the salmon, which is consistently perfect -- crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The pasta with lobster is also very enjoyable.

Another great dinner. This place only gets better every time we come. Such a cozy chic vibe. I ordered the veal chop special. Omg it was the most tender chop I ever had. Wife ordered salmon she said it was the best she ever had great crust outside and super tender inside Waitress was the sweetest.

Ambiance is the down stairs is great. I love Roost but my s/o, who just tried it for the first time said it was meh. We both ordered filet medium and his was more medium well and mine was more medium rare. We didn't say anything bc we're just not those ppl. Plan to go back and try they're brunch.

High lights: 1. The well thought out MCM design 2. The Slab Bacon and Egg Salad 3. The DPNB Fresh Spaghetti Low Lights: 1. My boyfriend spilled milk and they were pissed lol 2. The NY stripe we ordered M/R was v rare and a little on the gamey side. 3. The reservation system is a little old school - form submission but does make you feel special when they call you for the actual reservation time. Overall all- food was good , ambiance was better!

Outstanding. We got together for a dinner to celebrate friend's birthday. I started with the smoked rooster cocktail, which was very good - more spicy than smokey, but still very tasty. Excellent wine list - it is short and concise, but well appointed and extremely reasonably priced. We settled for the Moroccan Syrah, which was simply superb, both in taste and in value ($42). I started with Maryland Blue Crab soup, which was delicious. For the main dish, while the special of grilled Tuna looked spectacular, I decided on New Zealand venison, which was perfectly cooked, came with super-tasty cherry sauce, and as a bonus, perfectly paired with the Syrah. Amazing experience. Excellent, friendly, timely, attentive service. Most highly recommended.

Someone in our party, told me there was a 4 charge for bread. I was getting a pasta dish, so I wanted it anyway. Needless to say bread never came, but it was on the bill. They removed the charge. Wisely recognized as America's oldest tavern with its stone facade, the Old '76 House, located on Main Street in Tappan, has been welcoming guests and was restored to its pristine condition by the Norden family. Step inside, and nearly every corner tells a story that served as a meeting place for local patriots during the American Revolutionary War. It also welcomed General George Washington for dining on occasion. He once received plans at the establishment that exposed Benedict Arnold as a traitor--prompting a dramatic reaction still talked about today. Upon entering without a reservation today for lunch, my partner and I were greeted by the host and got a cozy table by the fireplace with original Delft tiles in the Tap Room. The interior features rustic beamed ceilings, four fireplaces, vintage portraits, historical certificates and documents, as well as costumes and artifacts where patrons were able to walk around and marvel at them. The menu reflects the tavern's heritage, with dishes inspired by early American cuisine. We decided on the Thanksgiving Sandwich accompanied with fries and the Traditional American Meatloaf over Mashed Potatoes and Steamed Vegetables. For dessert, we shared Hannah's Apple Crunch with vanilla ice cream. But even more than the great and delicious food was the history, ambiance, and especially the way we were treated. Our server was Joe and checked on us often. The portion was healthy and the price comparable to the area's. If one has even a passing interest in American history, then it's a must to come here. There is a beautiful raw bar area, lots of seating, and overall just a really good atmosphere for a group lunch or even drinks after work. The staff was on point the entire time. We were a pretty big group and everything still came out smoothly and nobody ever felt forgotten which I appreciated. We started with oysters and they were fresh and really good. Definitely one of the better things we ordered. The fried calamari was okay but not something I would specifically come back for. The Caesar salad was actually really good and I liked that it had anchovies in it because a lot of places skip that now. I ordered the lobster roll and thought it was the perfect lunch portion. Enough food without feeling too heavy after. Other people at the table ordered burgers, steaks, and pizzas and everyone seemed happy with their meals. The pizzas especially went fast. Overall really good experience. Good food, great service, nice atmosphere, and a menu with enough variety that everyone found something they like.

TVs on. Area was crowded with very loud bargoers. People bumping our chairs, and we honestly could not hear ourselves think. Service was slow. The food was decent. I enjoyed my linguini fruit de mar which had a fresh tomato sauce and lots of different types of seafood. Kids enjoyed the pasta too. My wife had the fig and prosciutto pizza which had that nice sweet fig taste. The apple beignet was delicious but I would not call it a beignet - more like a... pocket? Portions were sizable. New York city prices. $11 for a side of french fries. $36 for my pasta. $75 for a paella for two.
