Fun times at the bar at Sear House. It's known as a top steak house, but the wife and I just love sitting at the bar for cocktails and dinner. We like to share and we usually split a bunch of items. Last night we had the avacado and shrimp appetizer. Good size shrimp, but believe it or not, the star of the show is the avacado, huge chunks perfectly ripened. We usually share their sliders. These are no White Castle burgers. There a decent size of top quality meat served with cheese, pickles, onion and tomato. They come with fresh cut French fries, delicious. For our last item we had the mussels in a red sauce. Muscles can be tricky, they can get fishy very easily. These were fresh, plump and the sauce was so good, I lapped it up with some bread. Key tip, ask for bread for the muscles, no charge, but doesn't come with the order. Of course need to shout the bartender, Blend, he makes a mighty good drink. Came for our anniversary. Had the calamari, the arugula salad, the filet and the short ribs. Tne food was fantastic. Everything else left much to be desired. Service was slow, the atmosphere was so loud I could not hear my husband. We were seated next to a table of at least 16 and we were in the enclosed patio section so there was zero sound deadening. Every other restaurant we've gone to for our anniversary has recognized it some how when I've included it in the reservation notes. I would have expected more. read more

An unusual review: inside the restaurant was FIVE STARS, we lived in the area a number of years ago and my granddaughter suggested it for diner. Food 5* service 5* problem you ask: valets are lazy, it was pouring, no offer of an umbrella, open the trunk to take out my wife's walker, he stood there like a mummy, I "thanked" him and had dinner, on leaving rain worse, his responsiveness same, I flashed my $10 tip and put it back in my pocket! The Restaurant is absolutely beautiful, the staff is warm and friendly. I was really expecting great things from Sear. I began with the Lobster Bisque which was good but nothing special. It lacked the rich creaminess and notes of Sherry that I love in an excellent Lobster Bisque. For my entree I ordered the Bone-in Ribeye with a baked potato for my side. The steak came out looking beautiful on a sizzling plate with butter. Which is my favorite way to eat a steak! The meat itself was a beautiful cut, however it was unfortunately way too salty. I usually enjoy salty, but even for me it was too much. My baked potato was sadly uninspired. It's not bad, and came sour cream. But there was no, butter, no chives, and the flavor was very mild. It was a necessary balance to the saltiness of the steak. Lastly, I noticed all the tables around me had bread served, but none was offered to me. Sadly I don't think I shall be returning anytime soon. read more

The octopus was delicious as well as the artichokes and the eggplant but we were somewhat disappointed with the main course of pappardelle with lobster sauce. It was over cooked and the lobster was the small claw pieces instead of lobster meat chunks. The steak was very good. The service was fine and the restaurant was very nice with both booths and tables. The wine list was good and we passed on dessert. Absolutely loved the decor of this place! Very classy and inviting from the minute we walked through the door to the end of our meal. Our server was attentive and friendly and gave us just the right amount of time to come over to our table before taking our orders. Food: fresh mozzarella bruschetta with arugula and figs..phenomenal. The cheese was fresh and the bruschetta was toasted to the right softness where you didn't get the toasty flakes all over yourself. The pepper that the mozzarella was on was absolutely delicious. Much better than the typical tomato pairing. The fig was sweet and paired well with the lightly dressed arugula. Probably one of my favorite appetizers ever. My girlfriend and I shared the porterhouse for 2 cooked medium rare and came to us sizzling on a hot cast iron skillet with it already sliced into pieces of us....SO considerate! The steak was SO juicy and melted in your mouth. It was seared perfectly on the outside with the right amount of pink on the inside. The three sides we ordered were the garlic mashed potatoes, shoe string French fries, and Brussels sprouts..I HIGHLY recommend the garlic mash. It wasn't too garlicky or chunky and just the right amount of creaminess. For dessert, we had the chocolate mousse cake and the tiramisu. We didn't finish either of them, not because it was bad, but because we were so full. The dessert, like the rest of the food, was delicious. She gave them back to the waiter. We waited and upon getting them back, they were her old scallops. On the few occasions I've had to send food back, and considering scallops don't take long to cook, I was surprised they didn't make her a new plate; I wasn't thrilled about that. Great place have been going there nearly 20 years now! I can say we have never been disappointed about the food or service! This doesn't happen automatically, management makes this happen! Being in my own business for over 22 years I get to observe many employees during our visits. I believe all the employees are professionals, but one especially comes to my mind. This bartender by the name of Amanda has left a lasting impression on us! Amanda is very knowledgeable and makes great Martinis. Maybe back in the day it was something special, but times change. -Had a tequila drink and couldn't even taste the booze. -Fried Calamari appetizer was fake AF! -Meatball appetizer had too much seasoning. -Tomahawk steak special wasn't even cooked the way I asked and I wasn't pleased with the cut. I have been here before and I like it as much as I did the first time. We were a very large party. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. They have a pretty extensive wine list. We had two bottles of the Terra Doro Zinfandel, Prosecco and Martinis. For the eats, I had the Tuna Panko which was very good. Others had the Tuscan Seafood Stew, Veal Chop, Prime Rib. No complaints. Everything was tasty. We had Tiramisu and the Chocolate Mousse for dessert, along with coffee and tea. I do the like the ambience and overall vibe here. As you can see from my past reviews this is one of my local favorites, which I would visit for their price fix 3 course lunch specials every Sunday. After more than a year since we moved out of this area I returned here with my family of four for Sunday lunch. We were the second booth to be seated. As we sat more tables were seated and became busier than when we last visited a year ago during lunch. I guess their lunch business is picking up here post COVID. The three of us ordered their price fix 3-course lunch, which is now $29.95. In the past a glass of wine was included, which is no longer included. I started with and enjoyed my two peach martinis. I also enjoyed my baked clams, which were smaller than I last had a year ago. I also enjoyed my 6 ounce medium rare filet mignon with three sauces, mushrooms and vegetables. I opted for their steak au poivre peppercorn sauce. My filet was properly cooked. We mentioned knowing Ben and Carlos, who were off today. Since our waiter noted that we were past regulars he comped us with two desserts to share including a great cheesecake and tiramisu. We ended our lunches with coffee. Tea was also included. Came in on a Sunday evening with 8 people to celebrate my parents' anniversary around 6pm. A couple tables were already seated, but we had a reservation and had no problems being seated right away. We started off with Crispy Fried Calamari, Sear House Salad, and Crab Cakes for the table. I loved the crispiness of the calamari. Not sure if it was by luck or they just routinely do it, but kudos to them for not serving the tentacles with the calamari (not a huge fan of them). The Sear House Salad had the perfect balance of salad to dressing and the crab cakes were perfect. I ordered the Mushroom Risotto for my main entrée. It was delicious and although the sauce looks heavy in the picture, it did not taste heavy. The dish was large enough that it could be shared between 2 people or taken home as leftovers. I only took off 1 star because the tables felt a little too close together for the restrictions that are still in place. This was my first time to Sear and I will definitely be back. We went for lunch for my mom's birthday. They have a pre-fix menu that was a great deal. For $33 you can order an appetizer, entree, and dessert. Also for an additional $8 you can get a glass of wine or prosecco. I thought this was a great deal! To start, the place is very elegant. There are white tablecloths and the service is excellent. They did not rush us and we were able to enjoy our time. For an appetizer, I had grilled artichokes which were delicious and unique. They were a combo of warm, salty, and a little spicy. One of the girls with us had the burrata which looked so good and she enjoyed it. For entree, I had the vodka chicken parm. This is something I order often, and I am looking for some of the best ones, and this was definitely up there! The sauce was outstanding and the chicken was nice and thin. One person in our party had the salmon, which looked so good. For dessert, I had the cheesecake which was great and some people had the creme brulee. You received a lot of food with the deal and it was all very tasty. I will be back for lunch, and would go back to try dinner or drinks and apps at the bar. read more

yikes. let me start by saying that our entrees were good and that saved the evening. but everything that occurred in the hour before our entrees arrived.....was not good. waiter did not come right away to take our drink order. in fact we waited so long that we placed our drink and food order together. from the time we sat down to the time our drinks arrived, 20 minutes had passed. our appetizers showed up before the drinks. it's FRIDAY NIGHT. i need my martini!! however the martinis were watered down. very weak and disappointing. appetizers were just okay. we ordered the octopus special and the mussel special. both lacked flavor and did not taste fresh. like i mentioned the entrees were tasty. ordered the scallops and the surf and turf and we enjoyed those. but everything else was subpar. not worth the pricey bill. and i definitely dont understand what the fuss is over this place. definitely will not visit again. read more

They have a medium size speciality drink menu but had several interesting choices! I had the peach martini which I truly enjoyed. Nice wine menu with some nice wines a at reasonable prices. We had the bacon app the spicy shrimp and the avocado tuna- all delicious. Hubby and daughter shared the porterhouse for two which they ordered med raw and hubs thought it might have been cooked a little more than what was asked for. All sides are extra! The food was good but the service was atrocious. 15 minutes from when we sat down for a drink order to be taken. I asked if we could put in appetizers and she said we'd need to put the whole order in together, which we were ready to do, but she walked away. Another 15/20 for her to return to take the food order. Another 20 minutes to get the check. At one point a man at a table behind us had to walk up to the station she was standing at to give her his bill/credit card. We also sat in the small section behind the bar and it seemed a bit cramped. The dining room was more lively and seemingly was being serviced more attentively. We had an amazing dining experience. The drinks, the food, the service was unbelievably amazing. They had valet parking the night of, who were on top. We made reservations and were seated within 5 minutes of arriving. We ordered the lobster appetizer, then got the surf and turf for myself. The misses ordered lamp chops. Both meals were delicious. We ordered a side of mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and the creamed spinach as well. All were delicious. I wish I took more pictures. Been to Sear a few times but each visit was spanned over the years since they first opened. Every time we go I am reminded what a nice job they do so far as service, ambience conducive to cross-table conversation and very good food. Our ribeye was cooked perfectly medium rare and was on a par with most other local steak houses as were our side dishes. Salads ordered were particularly memorable.
