What a treat! My friend and I grabbed an early dinner for the first time at The Pier, it won't be the last time. We started our dinner with a shared plate of fried calamari. The calamari was tender and the coating was crispy. A perfect appetizer. I enjoyed, a delicious meal of Littleneck Clam Linguine, which I've been talking about ever since. My partner dined on the fresh fish of the day and thoroughly enjoyed his meal as well. Friday night- place was crowded. It was my first time eating here.I've been wanting to try it for a while. I thought it was an order at the counter and then find a seat restaurant so I was disappointed when they said there were reservations and they couldn't accommodate our party of two. When I had looked on the website, there was no place to make a reservation so I was surprised by this. I wish it had been more clear. Additionally, there was a sign to inform customers that the prices on the menu would be higher due to increased costs. The staff was friendly and asked if we wanted to order takeout instead- which we did. However, one of the reasons I chose this place was because I thought it was a casual counter style restaurant, that would have lower prices. I do realize seafood is expensive, but I would've chosen a seafood restaurant that would allow us to sit down. We ordered lobster rolls Connecticut style. They were fantastic and crabcakes, which were full of crab. The food was 5 stars but the lack of info about reservations coupled with the increased prices is 3 stars so I am settling on 4 stars. A very beachy vibe and decor restaurant which is a nice touch since it's a seafood restaurant. Passed by a million times but never had the chance to stop by. Service was quick with a friendly staff. The menu isn't huge but has a bit of everything. We had the crab cakes, def loaded with crab and no fillers. The lobster roll was nice and buttery, scallops were cooked perfectly. No chewiness, many places tend to over cook them but not here. Cool little spot for a date night or family lunch. Not too spacious inside but the food was worth it. This was our first time here and we made the reservation an hour or so before going. The food was fantastic. The service was great, our server was friendly and personable. Ambiance was good, was just a little hot/humid inside, but given the weather it was understandable. The Rhode Island calamari was delicious. I loved the sweet chili sauce. The lobster roll was one of the best I've had outside of Boston. I don't usually eat bread, so I just had the meat and my husband ate the roll and said it was good. Jersey Shore quality seafood right here in Park Ridge. The Pier looks like it would right at home in any Jersey Shore town. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Parking can be rather difficult as there aren't many parking spots. We started with the Lobster Bisque which was excellent! Nice and creamy with deep Lobster and Sherry flavors. I wish they had a Lobster bomb option for the Bisque. For our entrees we had the Cod Father and the fish and chips. The Cod Father was broiled Cod, Scallops and Shrimp in a Butter and Garlic sauce with a Ritz cracker crust. It came with a choice of 2 sides, I went with the Caesar salad and the steak fries. The fries are great dipped in the garlic butter. Everything was fresh and delicious. Looking forward to coming back and enjoying more of the menu. read more

A tiny secret of a restaurant with about 6 tables so make a reservation. Hands down the best coconut shrimp ever. Now that we got that out of the way, the food is excellent. Sure I love sushi, but if it tastes fishy, it's bad fish and growing up in Norway on boiled fish and an evil concoction called Lutefisk. It was amazing. Not your standard escargot in a standard scalloped dish with a small dash of garlic and butter, but a bowl consisting of a wonderful broth of escargot, garlic, butter and accompanied with toasted baguette slices. Mains: My wife ordered the "Codfather"consisting of cod, shrimp and scallops. Let's just say I made sure to keep my arms and hands on my side of the table and not attempt to try a sample from her plate with the fear of losing a digit. I ordered the fish and chips. Hey! It's fried, can't go wrong as a non-fish eater going with this route. Nope. Beyond my expectations. My last best fish and chips was at the famous take away at the Borough Market in London. This version? Fresh Cod, well done fries, homemade tartar sauce and coleslaw, just saved me the airfare to the UK. We have all ready been back twice. It is our new fave. read more

5 STARS ALL THE F*CKING WAY. Thank you, Ralph, for running a local business that provides a memorable dining experience for seafood lovers! I'm not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best meals I've had. The Pier is a casual family-owned restaurant serving only the freshest seafood. They only have five tables for dine-in, so it's more of a take-out place. If you would like to eat in, you can always call for a reservation and they're happy to accommodate. We called for a table around 4pm on a Sunday. There's plenty of parking available on site. The interior is super cute and filled with beach and ocean-themed decorations. If you're a seafood lover, this is heaven for you. They have tons of variety on their menu- lobster, crab, octopus, calamari, mussels, clams, oysters, shrimp, salmon, cod, etc. I only saw a few non-seafood options, such as their house burger, ribs, and strip steak. We ordered the bacon wrapped scallops (4 for $13) and 2 lobster rolls (warm with butter aka Connecticut style) for $25 each. You get to choose a side with the roll, so I went with the sweet potato fries. It does take awhile to get your food but that's because they make every single dish FRESH!!! So many restaurants nowadays don't care anymore and just hand you reheated, low quality food. That's not the case here. The bacon wrapped scallops with sweet chili soy sauce... OH MY GOODNESS!!! The flavor profile was out of this world- salty, juicy, tangy, sweet, buttery and spicy all at the same time. The scallops were seared perfectly and were so tender. The bacon wasn't too crispy or fatty either and its smokiness paired well with the scallops. Now for the big prize... the lobster rolls!!!! This is the best lobster roll I've ever had. They did not skimp out on the portions. The lobster pieces were big, juicy, and full of flavor. The butter sauce and fresh lemon were just the cherry on top to enhance the flavor. The bun was fluffy and well toasted with butter. SOOO GOOD. The sweet potato fries were crispy and well seasoned. It was a meal I wish I could savor forever. The service was amazing from start to finish. Our server was super friendly and Ralph, the owner, was a pleasure to speak with. He checked in on us and asked us how we liked the food. He truly cares about customers' dining experience and serving food cooked with love. He's been in the restaurant industry for over 20 years, so this man really knows what he's doing! I've been coming back here off and on since they opened so I suppose it's finally time to share this amazing place with you. Because it really is amazing. Not the easiest for me to get to, but totally worth it and I actually crave their warm lobster rolls and they are HUGE which bring me back. Nothing beats family owned, and amazing staff who truly care. Miriam is amazing. The seafood is beyond delicious. Everything tastes so fresh. We always pick up "to go" being that they only have a small seating area. The food is never soggy or tastes off from traveling home. I can't wait to come back next summer as I heard they have outdoor seating and that would be a great place to go for lunch or an early dinner. Run if not walk, if you will be in the area. Not sure if they take reservations or if it's first come first serve, but I usually see a line when picking up in the evening. read more

Pier 192 is straight up the best spot for a lobster roll. I've been there a bunch and I've ordered it four times already--I don't even bother trying anything else at this point. It's loaded with lobster, tastes fresh every time, and they actually give you a solid portion. The bread's toasted right, just hits every time. Our experience was ok, though mixed opinions. The restaurant is very small and more for takeout. They have about 7 tables and will serve you. Decor is cute with a shore theme. The lobster roll can be ordered cold in mayo or warm in butter. My daughter was happy with the amount of lobster and enjoyed it (warm). You get a choice of side, including several types of fries. My son said the Lobster Mac and cheese tasted good, but didn't have much lobster. I liked that they use cavatappi pasta. We tried both the fried calamari and Rhode Island calamari. Both were greasy/soggy, but we were happy they included tentacles. The Rhode Island one was tasty if you like cherry peppers. The octopus app was ok. Tender, and I even liked the spinach side with it. Fish and chips were disappointing for my wife. A bit soggy, plus they didn't come with any "chips". In fact, the order package was labeled "fish and chips -chips". Strange. They offered me a side with it when ordering, but I didn't realize selecting a side will remove the traditional fries. Their Caesar salad was a nice side to get as it comes with a good portion and shaved parmesan. Mahi mahi tacos were ok for me, but I wouldn't order them again. Nice chunks of fish, but I didn't care for the sauce. At the end of the meal, everyone felt generally ok with the experience, but not asking for it again. I do recommend the lobster rolls. Oddly, they advertise a credit card fee, but menu prices actually reflect paying with credit card. Cash gets you a discount. read more

Amazing! My husband and I have been meaning to come since they opened and we are elated to have found our new spot. My husband ordered the seafood medley and a Caesar salad and I had the fish tacos with sweet potato fries ... it was all so delicious. Our waiter - didn't catch his name - was super helpful and was very attentive. I love the feel of the place inside - it's very casual, no frills but oh so delicious.
