was in the area so finally made it here. beautiful clean place inside. they gave us garlic balls to start with. they were ok. seemed to be reheated with microwave. i ordered cavatelli with broccoli rabe and sausage. it was just ok. not much pasta but too much sausage. broccoli rabe was mostly stems. also way too much oil wife ordered salmon over salad. My friend who is a Rockland native brought me here and I was blown away by the creative menu items that ACTUALLY were GOOD! I got Oscar's banchetto which sounds good and tastes even better. This is seriously what chicken parm wishes it could be. It hits all the bases: chicken cutlet, ricotta, mozzarella, lasagna, and vodka sauce. The result is a melt in your mouth dinner. It was fantastically flavorful and perfectly balanced. I thought there's no way you can get better than this, until I ordered the lemon mascarpone cake. Absolutely divine. My friend would tell you, the look on my face the second my fork hit my mouth. It was absolutely perfect. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Unexpectedly upscale with great dinner service. A lovely warmly lit restaurant with a surprisingly large menu. Three of us shared the Burrata and the Banchetto Stuffies and were extremely satisfied. The Stuffies were especially delicious with plenty of clam stuffed inside. Penne ala vodka was enough for at least two people. We all had different pasta dishes and there were zero complaints. The ambiance is great for a cute date, corporate dinner, birthday celebrations, or any occasion where you want to treat yourself to some delicious food and perfectly crafted drinks. I've been here a few times already and always walked out very satisfied and with a perfect to-go container ready to brighten up my lunch for the next day. I have to also point out how generous the complimentary bread is. They give you warm, flavorful garlic knots with fresh bread and some olive oil on the side. If you're a fiend like me, you might order another round of that to go along with your pasta sauces. The staff is friendly and knows their menu very well. Our first time at Banchetto was excellent. Beautiful space indoor and outdoor dining is spacious. 2:30 pm on a Friday afternoon and it's hopping! We went to the bar and started with a cocktail that was promptly made by our attentive bartender, Elmer. Next we had the fritti calamari with the classic marinara. The portion is huge so be aware. But the marinara was like an Italian goddess made it! Yummy! Next hubby had the Mamma Mia, thinly layered chicken and eggplant cooked to perfection topped with mozzarella, was so good. I had chicken Milanese with arugula, crispy and delicious. The wine selection is good with reasonable prices. The noise level was up there but I like a lively bar any way. Visited here for the first time, while visiting family in Nanuet, NY. It's an upscale Italian restaurant with a very extensive menu. I hard a very difficult time choosing what I wanted because there was several dishes on each page of the menu I could go for; but I feel I did very well going with one of the specials of the evening. We started with garlic knots that basically melted in your mouth!! They were not doughy, like in pizza shops. They were very soft and pillowy with the right amount of sauce. They also give you a saucer of olive oil and Italian bread if requested My Berkshire scampi pork chop with scampi risotto was absolutely amazing! The double bones pork chop was grilled to perfection. When I got to the center, it was a little more pink than I'd like; as I requested well done - fixed that the next night for leftovers. The risotto had a wonderful flavor with the roasted garlic! YUM!! I topped it with some fresh grated Parmesan. Hubby had the ricotta filled ravioli with bolognese sauce. It was also delicious - had a slightly sweet flavor to me. At the table was also the jumbo shrimp with gnocchi in a pesto cream sauce. The jumbo shrimp were the size of lobster tails!! There was an order of Chicken Parmigiana (& shareable side of roasted Brussels sprouts) and a burger with fries (Yelp only allows me to post 20shots, so the burger is not shown in this review. Jose was our waiter and he was always checking to make sure we didn't need anything. They also boxed up our leftovers for us. I would love to go there again to try another delicious dish. read more

So this review is after we tried to book a party for 25 people on July 3rd at 6:30. When we originally called yesterday we were told that it was all good however when we called back today we were told they could not accommodate us because they had a large party of over 100 people the same day and time. When we attempted to see if we could change the time or the day the women we spoke to was so rude and nasty. Said all they could do was 2:00 the same day and then she hung up. We called back and she said "What don't you understand?" and hung up again. We have previously used them for other large family functions but after this we will not use them and will not recommend them at all. We had a luncheon here after my mom's funeral and burial. It was at 12:30 pm on a Wednesday. We had about 30 friends and family. They served a delicious bread/appetizer. Then a fantastic salad, then a choice of four entrees: chicken parmigiana, salmon, eggplant, and a baked chicken breast dish. I had the chicken parmigiana and it was delicious. Everyone liked their entrees. We had plenty of space and people had to make speeches and there was plenty of privacy and space. We were served sodas throughout the meal and then coffee and tea. The staff was nice enough to let my sister serve some of my mom's favorite desserts. Staff was friendly and professional. I plan to return early and often to eat lunch and. dinner, loved the place. Horrific. The pasta was a comically big portion of disgusting mushiness. That pasta must have been cooked for twenty minutes, twice. I rushed to eat my salad hoping it would cleanse my palette but they must have used six week old, left out in the sun anchovies to make the caesar salad dressing. Without exaggeration I almost vomited. At this point I was very relieved that we had ordered dessert as I was pretty confident they wouldn't make that in house but when I took it out of the bag we saw a perfectly normal piece of cake and approximately half a teaspoon of the tiramisu. I'm not just disappointed I am extremely angry. This was possibly the worst dining experience I've had in my 15 years in Rockland County. read more

First the positives very nice atmosphere and great service. Ordered the meatball sampler appetizer with 3 different sauces which was excellent highly recommend. Now the negatives explaining the poor rating. Had the classic chicken parm entree, huge portion good for 2 people but VERY dry and definitely was overcooked big disappointment. Also tried the pizza which was a big miss! Crust is thick and doughy wasn't fully cooked and pizza had little taste. I was pleasantly surprised with both the food and the excellent wait staff! I had my first dining experience there a week ago with 11 other friends. There were at least seven different entrees ordered, and EVERYONE was happy with the quality of the food's preparation and taste. The only shortcoming for me was the location of where we sat, which was in a busy thoroughfare. So, being crowded and very noisy took away from the experience a bit. What an amazing dinner my family had at this beautiful restaurant!! When we walked in we were greeted my a charming gentleman named Vito who escorted us to our table. We asked for an appetizer recommendation and he suggested the scampi wings, which were delicious! I've been here a few times. Food is decent but overpriced. On my last visit in July the gnats were a definite problem. One even landed inside my drink. The restaurant was not so eager to replace the wine but did so replacing half the original quantity. But the flies continued to overwhelm us and it was extremely annoying. We just wanted to leave. If someone orders over two hours in advance and the time was agreed and confirmed then it should be ready when it was promised not an afterthought. Food is good. Service is poor. We've eaten here several times before but tonight the service was poor. I spoke to the manager at the end of the meal. He was seated at the end of the bar. Perhaps the service would be improved if the manager meandered around the restaurant and monitored his restaurant on a busy Saturday evening. Maybe not. Improve? What?
