    lemon mascarpone cake

My friend who is a Rockland native brought me here and I was blown away by the creative menu items that ACTUALLY were GOOD! I got Oscar's banchetto which sounds good and tastes even better. This is seriously what chicken parm wishes it could be. It hits all the bases: chicken cutlet, ricotta, mozzarella, lasagna, and vodka sauce. The result is a melt in your mouth dinner. It was fantastically flavorful and perfectly balanced. I thought there's no way you can get better than this, until I ordered the lemon mascarpone cake. Absolutely divine. My friend would tell you, the look on my face the second my fork hit my mouth. It was absolutely perfect. I wouldn't change a thing about it. Our server was also a delight, talking to us about his daughter. Amazing experience and will definitely be coming back!

The food, atmosphere and wait staff are top notch. They offer lunch specials and outstanding garlic bread as well.

Surprised this place doesn't have more reviews.. it's wicked good! The ambiance is great for a cute date, corporate dinner, birthday celebrations, or any occasion where you want to treat yourself to some delicious food and perfectly crafted drinks. I've been here a few times already and always walked out very satisfied and with a perfect to-go container ready to brighten up my lunch for the next day. I have to also point out how generous the complimentary bread is. They give you warm, flavorful garlic knots with fresh bread and some olive oil on the side. If you're a fiend like me, you might order another round of that to go along with your pasta sauces. The staff is friendly and knows their menu very well. If you are stuck on what to get, you cannot go wrong with their top picks noted on their menu.

Our first time at Banchetto was excellent. Beautiful space indoor and outdoor dining is spacious. 2:30 pm on a Friday afternoon and it's hopping! We went to the bar and started with a cocktail that was promptly made by our attentive bartender, Elmer. Next we had the fritti calamari with the classic marinara. The portion is huge so be aware. But the marinara was like an Italian goddess made it! Yummy! Next hubby had the Mamma Mia, thinly layered chicken and eggplant cooked to perfection topped with mozzarella, was so good. I had chicken Milanese with arugula, crispy and delicious. The wine selection is good with reasonable prices. The noise level was up there but I like a lively bar any way. Highly recommend this place for a good meal and good experience.

A $9 half teaspoon of tiramisu

Horrific. The pasta was a comically big portion of disgusting mushiness. That pasta must have been cooked for twenty minutes, twice. I rushed to eat my salad hoping it would cleanse my palette but they must have used six week old, left out in the sun anchovies to make the caesar salad dressing. Without exaggeration I almost vomited. At this point I was very relieved that we had ordered dessert as I was pretty confident they wouldn't make that in house but when I took it out of the bag we saw a perfectly normal piece of cake and approximately half a teaspoon of the tiramisu. I'm not just disappointed I am extremely angry. This was possibly the worst dining experience I've had in my 15 years in Rockland County.

    Jumbo SHRIMP with pesto gnocchi

Visited here for the first time, while visiting family in Nanuet, NY. It's an upscale Italian restaurant with a very extensive menu. I hard a very difficult time choosing what I wanted because there was several dishes on each page of the menu I could go for; but I feel I did very well going with one of the specials of the evening. We started with garlic knots that basically melted in your mouth!! They were not doughy, like in pizza shops. They were very soft and pillowy with the right amount of sauce. They also give you a saucer of olive oil and Italian bread if requested My Berkshire scampi pork chop with scampi risotto was absolutely amazing! The double bones pork chop was grilled to perfection. When I got to the center, it was a little more pink than I'd like; as I requested well done - fixed that the next night for leftovers. The risotto had a wonderful flavor with the roasted garlic! YUM!! I topped it with some fresh grated Parmesan. Hubby had the ricotta filled ravioli with bolognese sauce. It was also delicious - had a slightly sweet flavor to me. At the table was also the jumbo shrimp with gnocchi in a pesto cream sauce. The jumbo shrimp were the size of lobster tails!! There was an order of Chicken Parmigiana (& shareable side of roasted Brussels sprouts) and a burger with fries (Yelp only allows me to post 20shots, so the burger is not shown in this review. Jose was our waiter and he was always checking to make sure we didn't need anything. They also boxed up our leftovers for us. I would love to go there again to try another delicious dish.

That, pardner, is your friendly neighborhood Outlaw Saloon, so c'mon down! Wowza this saloon was super hoppin' on a Thursday night! Plenty of parking in front and back but the lots were almost full. I haven't been to this location since its past life as a BBQ place, but have been keen to visit Outlaw Saloon since they opened last year. The atmosphere is tight! Now the decor would be nuthin if the food were lousy, but here they do all right too! More than all right. I tucked into the rodeo burger, thick and juicy, well-seasoned and satisfying, with a side of excellent fries. The same could be said for the pork cowboy, a grilled pork chop with a crispy, slightly charred crust, topped with a melting pat of herb-seasoned butter. I wasn't crazy about the pork riblets which were kind of tough and chewy, and not at all spicy for Nashville hot. Next time I will opt for the wings. We happened upon an open mic night, and it must've also been a bike night as a bunch of bikers were gathered on the outside patio (didn't expect to see that in Chestnut Ridge, honestly). The atmosphere was very lively, and we enjoyed the amped up acoustic sets. Needless to say, it was a busy night, but service was not lacking. Our waitress Melinda was super sweet, and I think the owner(?) also came out to check on things. 4.5 stars but rounding up to 5 for aesthetics, ambiance, and cool folks. This is a fun place to hang. Next time, I wanna dress thematically. Yeehaw!

Combined with a gift card or two to burn, resistance is futile. The fare's an ever popular American bar-and-grill classics meets Tex-Mex inspired favorites, a formula so thoroughly focus group-tested that it has achieved something of a universal palatability, with choices that please the whole family from young to old and across demographics, and somehow still delivers value in this overpriced economy. The Nanuet location is always busy and the parking lot's pretty full on weekends, but I've always been impressed with the operational efficiency every time we've gone. The wait is never onerous, service is cheerful and brisk, food arrives hot, and nothing comes out tragically wrong. My go-tos are the wings, appetizers, chicken crispers, fajitas, and pastas. I'm pickier re: steak and burgers so I check my expectations at the door of establishments that aren't deeply committed to beef (which is to say, I haven't deliberately ordered those items and don't have an opinion to offer, though my fam likes it just fine), but it's hard to go wrong with chicken. I will also eat your ribs if offered a taste. Chances are you've been to a Chili's before and know exactly what to expect - and sometimes that's the whole comforting point. My family has been going to this Nanuet outpost for longer than I can remember, so it has a fond place in my heart.

I am not typically an IPA fan, but I could definitely get behind this one. We also ordered the cheesesteak with cherry peppers and french fries. The cheesesteak was great. They use Pat LaFrieda shredded beef for their sandwiches! The food came out quickly despite how bustling the brewery was. During a previous visit we tried the smash burger and the apple brie grilled cheese. Both of those were excellent, too. Great beer, great food, and kind owners - this place has it all. An excellent addition to the Rockland ! If beer is not your thing, they also have an extensive cocktail menu. We have not tried any of them yet, but will have to during a future visit.
