The restaurant maintained the mostly high seats, which can be a problem for those that are vertically challenged, and the one negative is the music is loud, though the live music was excellent last Saturday (sorry, but I don't remember his name). But most of us go to a restaurant for the food, and Outlaw did not disappoint. We ordered the buffalo wings, which were excellent. They were crispy, and a good size. I like them very spicy, and they were a bit short there, but they were hot enough for most people, including my better half. We both ordered the rodeo burgers medium rare. These are a hefty half pound. They were charred on the outside, which is wonderful though the burger was closer to medium than medium rare. They have a huge selection of draft beer, whiskey and bourbon. I was very excited to see Defiant, which ordered. I am very close to giving this a five star review, but the loud music and slightly too done burger forced me to downgrade it slightly. That said, we will be back!

That, pardner, is your friendly neighborhood Outlaw Saloon, so c'mon down! Wowza this saloon was super hoppin' on a Thursday night! Plenty of parking in front and back but the lots were almost full. I haven't been to this location since its past life as a BBQ place, but have been keen to visit Outlaw Saloon since they opened last year. The atmosphere is tight! Now the decor would be nuthin if the food were lousy, but here they do all right too! More than all right. I tucked into the rodeo burger, thick and juicy, well-seasoned and satisfying, with a side of excellent fries. The same could be said for the pork cowboy, a grilled pork chop with a crispy, slightly charred crust, topped with a melting pat of herb-seasoned butter. I wasn't crazy about the pork riblets which were kind of tough and chewy, and not at all spicy for Nashville hot. Next time I will opt for the wings. We happened upon an open mic night, and it must've also been a bike night as a bunch of bikers were gathered on the outside patio (didn't expect to see that in Chestnut Ridge, honestly). The atmosphere was very lively, and we enjoyed the amped up acoustic sets. Needless to say, it was a busy night, but service was not lacking. Our waitress Melinda was super sweet, and I think the owner(?) also came out to check on things. 4.5 stars but rounding up to 5 for aesthetics, ambiance, and cool folks. This is a fun place to hang. Next time, I wanna dress thematically. Yeehaw!

Combined with a gift card or two to burn, resistance is futile. The fare's an ever popular American bar-and-grill classics meets Tex-Mex inspired favorites, a formula so thoroughly focus group-tested that it has achieved something of a universal palatability, with choices that please the whole family from young to old and across demographics, and somehow still delivers value in this overpriced economy. The Nanuet location is always busy and the parking lot's pretty full on weekends, but I've always been impressed with the operational efficiency every time we've gone. The wait is never onerous, service is cheerful and brisk, food arrives hot, and nothing comes out tragically wrong. My go-tos are the wings, appetizers, chicken crispers, fajitas, and pastas. I'm pickier re: steak and burgers so I check my expectations at the door of establishments that aren't deeply committed to beef (which is to say, I haven't deliberately ordered those items and don't have an opinion to offer, though my fam likes it just fine), but it's hard to go wrong with chicken. I will also eat your ribs if offered a taste. Chances are you've been to a Chili's before and know exactly what to expect - and sometimes that's the whole comforting point. My family has been going to this Nanuet outpost for longer than I can remember, so it has a fond place in my heart.

The beer is outstanding and the food is just as impressive. It is genuinely hard to decide which is the bigger highlight. You can tell the brewer is deeply knowledgeable and intentional. Every pour feels crafted with purpose. The service was equally amazing. It was warm, attentive, and clearly proud of what they are serving. What really stood out to me are the details. It is not just about great beer and food, it is the personality of the place. Little touches like the photo of their "founding father" make it feel unique and personal rather than generic. This is the kind of brewery you want to become a regular at. Thoughtful, high quality, and a true asset to West Nyack.

We were excited to try the house made beers. We tried all six that were on the menu and we were impressed by all six. Our favorites were the Amber Lager, Closed Circuit, and the Czech Dark Lager, Shadow Phase. The double hazy NEIPA, Boom Cloud, was also up for a favorite - a crisp clean taste that went down easy. I am not typically an IPA fan, but I could definitely get behind this one. We also ordered the cheesesteak with cherry peppers and french fries. The cheesesteak was great. They use Pat LaFrieda shredded beef for their sandwiches! The food came out quickly despite how bustling the brewery was. During a previous visit we tried the smash burger and the apple brie grilled cheese. Both of those were excellent, too. Great beer, great food, and kind owners - this place has it all. An excellent addition to the Rockland ! If beer is not your thing, they also have an extensive cocktail menu. We have not tried any of them yet, but will have to during a future visit. Creative cocktails which were not too strong or too weak, with great flavor combos (one came in this cute tiki cup.) Service was really friendly and efficient and the place was well decorated and super clean. Over the years, I've noticed that both the food quality and service have been inconsistent. There have been visits where I left very satisfied with both the staff and the food. However, there have also been occasions when unexpected charges appeared on the final bill, which was disappointing. On this most recent visit, the food was good overall, I'd describe it as average and fair for the price. The restaurant was busy, though not completely full, since they were showing the Brazil vs. Norway soccer match. They definitely have the setup and atmosphere for soccer fans, especially with the World Cup excitement. One downside involved our drinks. We ordered a Passion Fruit Margarita and a Passion Fruit Caipirinha. Since they looked almost identical, we weren't sure which was which when they arrived. The drinks were dropped off by the manager, not our waitress, and he walked away immediately. When we called him back to ask which drink was which, he replied in a slightly ironic tone, "Which one do you think it is?" We explained that was exactly why we were asking as we could not identify. He then said one had sugar on the rim and the other had salt. Unless you're a bartender or taste each drink, that's not immediately obvious. It wasn't a major issue, but I was surprised by the response. A simple, courteous answer would have been appreciated. There was another interaction that left a similar impression. We asked our waitress approximately how long the food would take because we were considering ordering an appetizer if the wait was long. Her response was simply, "I don't know, and I can't tell you how long." While I understand exact times aren't always possible, a more helpful response would have gone a long way. I would have gladly given this place one more star if those service interactions hadn't happened. The food was decent, but the customer service made the experience less enjoyable. I'm not sure whether I'll choose this location again, especially considering it isn't an inexpensive restaurant. I hope they can improve the level of hospitality because the food and for this World Cup season the soccer atmosphere certainly have potential.
