Had lunch here today. Didn't even know this place existed, it is tucked in strip mall across from the main Nanuet Mall. I was the only one in a pretty cavernous space, but they seemed to be doing a good take out business. I had the steak Quesadilla appetizer which was huge! Pictured below. The huge portions are reflected in the price, which isn't cheap. The food and ginger ale came to $23. But not outrageous for what you get. I took one star off because of the lack of cheaper options on the menu for lunch. As a retired person, probably not going back regularly. But when I feel like eating good Mexican Food and a lot of it, I'll be back. Recommended. read more

Nice place where you will leave feeling full and satisfied. A few things to keep in mind. The portions here a big. My wife and I typically come for a couple appetizers and either sangria or margaritas, plus the fun chips with salsa they give you. As another reviewer pointed out, ask for the hot sauce. It's not a bottle of some cheapo sauce, but a quality Mexican flavored sauce that will likely come out to you in a small bowl. Add it to your salsa, your chips, your food... Prices are still fair here, except for the sangria. Around last year, they raised the price for a pitcher of sangria by almost $10 and it really pushed the boundaries of worth it/not worth it. We switched to classic margaritas and have generally been satisfied. What to order here - If you like a big platter of stuff that's all covered in cheese and sauce, then go for an entree. It'll be just that and I'm sure quite filling. I prefer just having appetizers with drinks as the apps are good portions too. If you ever see the octopus appetizer special, order it. Fantastic size portion, tender octopus and good price. You'll love it. I wish they made this a regular menu item. The mussels diablo are an awesome choice! Big bowl of mussels with red, spicy sauce (surely they incorporate the same hot sauce discussed earlier). Plus it comes with a side of garlic bread. You can't beat this one. It's an awesome selection. The ceviche has good flavor, plenty of calamari and shrimp. Plus they put that imitation crab in it, which is a bit odd, but whatever. We eat it with it all. I do wish they put a ceviche on the menu with real chunks of fish. The mixed platter of hot appetizers is a fun choice, with plenty on it for all to share. Regarding the bill - this is another place that now adds a credit card fee. Yuck. That said, they do have coupons in the Valpak, so look for them! You can even print them out if you see them online. So, I am confused from a business management perspective. Why are you bugging customers with a credit card fee, but at the same time, you offer $10 off $50 coupons?! No logic there. Service is spotty here. It does seem very casual with random people walking around doing random things. I never have a clue who my waiter/waitress is, bus person, bartender, etc. It's like a free for all. Overall though, we like it here and always leave satisfied. read more

Great place with great food, great service and recently refreshed dining room. My favorite is the skirt steak and/or the hangar steak. They also provide a 'stiff' red sangria that is a great item if you're not the one driving. I think its the best Mexican restaurant within 20 miles. read more

It was a group lunch and not an easy chore for a restaurant but the service was a mess. I'm also not savvy with the kind of food offered and sad to say my selection wasn't to my liking. This place was a 10/10 imo. I went for lunch with another adult and 2 toddlers and it was still a great experience. (Iykyk) Portions are huge, even the kids meals. Prices on menu are significantly different than what they are currently charging in person (~40% more). I ordered shrimp tacos and a burrito for pick up. According to online menu it should have been $35 but in person they charged me $50. Ridiculously overpriced for subpar food. When I asked about the charge they said they increased their price and that their online menu was outdated. Manager did not even come out to speak about it. They did not offer compensation on the difference. Just a "free" dessert or nachos. Spend your money elsewhere on an authentic Mexican restaurant that does not use crappy prepackaged rice and is honest about their price before swiping your credit card. read more

I have always loved the sangrias in congers, now I have one closer to home in nanuet. I went for the pork chops and was amazed at the flavor and care taken in preparation. Their sangria goes down very easy so be careful. All in all a great place, even when crazy busy. read more

Was disturbed because 2 of our waiters were not wearing masks, even though we had an unvaccinated 7 year old with us. The food is very good. The wait staff are eager to help. I had a margarita that I loved. But the prices are higher than expected. ON TOP OF THAT, the restaurant adds a fee if you pay by credit card. I feel that credit card fees are part of the price of doing business and should be included in the price of the food. In addition, the restaurant has the ability to negotiate with their bank; customers do not. So I'm not sure if I'll go to Sangrias again. read more

Lately, we get take out once a week as a treat/ something to look forward to. And Sangria's nanuet was definitely a treat! We have gotten take out twice from this location in Nanuet. And everything was AMAZING! Soooo good. DELICIOUS! I have found that many restaurants in this area don't offer many seafood/ fish options, but Sangria's menu has a lot! I've had the fish tacos and the stuffed salmon. Both were so good. Even the side of vegetables that came with my salmon were soo tastey, fresh, flavorful, and not drowning in oil like you often get in restaurants. The prices are average to on the higher end, but for the amount of food you get, it is worth it. I also had the coconut shrimp appetizer - the shrimp were huge and perfect and came with a really yummy sauce/ dip. My husband enjoyed his chicken burrito also. They even give a large portion of chips and salsa. The inside of the restaurant looks very nice- looking forward to eating there in person. The sangria was good, too! read more
