Banchetto has been around for a long time. There's plenty of parking in the greater mall lot if you don't see a spot in their lot. They have some outdoor tables, but not too many. You can make reservations and there's no credit card fee. The decor is fresh and clean. The place is spacious, but also loud as it's all really just one big room with a wall in the middle. There are plenty of servers scrambling everywhere so service was generally ok. A few things I did not like. The menu prices on their website are drastically different than in person. All entrees were like $6 more. And I didn't think the food was that great to warrant some of the prices. The restaurant menu also doesn't list prices for beer or cocktails. Oddly enough, wine prices are posted. The cheese pizza was awful. There was a thick layer of cheese that just falls off the crust itself. Too much and too thick. The octopus risotto tasted good, but I didn't think the price was reasonable considering the amount of octopus within. The Berkshire pork chop with vinegar and spicy peppers tasted great. The potatos seemed a little old to me, almost like we're recooking potatoes from days ago. No veggie or salad included so my meal felt a bit meh at $36. The house bread was tasty. Fresh bread plus some focaccia served with a roasted pepper oil. Overall, nobody wants to return. There are other places of better value. read more

Banchetto is one of my favorite restaurants. The menu has so many great options that I have a hard time deciding what to order. Whatever I end up getting is always excellent and the serving sizes are generous. The food is very fresh and full of flavor. I also love the ambiance here - it is classy and elevated, but at the same time unpretentious. The staff makes you feel welcome and takes good care of you. One of my faves for sure! read more

I had a really nice experience at Banchetto Feast in Nanuet. I wish I had taken more pictures of the inside and outside because the ambiance and decor were beautiful--classy, clean, and cozy. It wasn't crowded when I went, so I was seated right away in a comfortable booth, which made the experience even better. Service was excellent--friendly and attentive throughout the meal. For dinner, I ordered the Pappardelle Short Ribs ($28.99). The meat is roasted for 12 hours, and you could taste the effort in the flavor. It was a little on the chewy side, but still tasty and well-seasoned with onions, peas, and wild mushrooms. I also tried the Eggplant Arrabbiata ($22.99)--light tomato sauce with onions, mushrooms, cherry peppers, and mozzarella. That dish was solid all around, no complaints at all. I've been here 3 times this past year and every time, I've had issues with the many fruit flies flying around the tables. It's quite off putting being that they most likely are coming from the open liquor bottles. The food is ok. The best thing to have here is the Thai chili jumbo shrimp and the roasted beets and blue cheese salad. But don't order those to go because they will give you smaller portions. Manhattan Caliber dining in Nanuet! While at the corner lot across from a strip mall, once you enter you are in a fine dining experience. The staff was attentive and helpful. Most staff had their names embroidered on their uniforms. The atmosphere was fresh, upscale and stylish. Our meal was fantastic! The caesar salad was the best dressed of any we've had in ages. It was authentic (not mayo based or forward) with hints of lemon, egg, worcestershire, etc.; the portion was huge (1 serving is good for 2) and the value offer is that it is included with most entrees. The halibut was a stunner and delicious, with the mashed potato mounded and broiled to afix it to the top. The butternut squash ravioli was excellent with additional sweetness from the bourbon cream sauce. I recommend this suburban hot spot to anyone looking for a wonderful night out with a memorable meal! read more

This is a solid restaurant and you always get a good meal. Went there with my wife and daughter. My wife had the Spaghetti Bolanaise, and my daughter had the Rigatoni Salmon alla Volkda. Both were happy with their meals. I had the Flame Broiled Portugese Octopus as a starter, which was very great. For the main course, I had the Butternut squash ravioli. This was absolutely delicious to the last bite. I definitely cleaned my plate. The deserts were good. We had the Tirimisu and the chocolate explosion (lava cake). Both were good. I had not been here since this location reopened where it is now. It's nice to see the original owner still operates it. The food is delicious. The service is excellent and that steak was more than satisfying. The calamari was just right. One would think "how could you mess up calamari" ... oh, there are ways.... But the chef delivered. The salad was delicious too. Might I say, it was a very big portion. The place is good for groups and has outdoor seating and bar seating. Had a great dinner here over the weekend. It was Saturday around 8 o'clock and the place was full, but they were able to squeeze 7 of us in for a last minute Birthday gathering. I wish I had taken note of our waitress because she was one of the best ever. Would love to call her out. So attentive that, even though the food was slower due to the place being so busy, she was on the game constantly. The vibe is sort of upscale, with white tablecloths and dim lighting. The decor is farmhouse chic meets modern. Much nicer than I had expected. We didn't order appetizers as we were pretty full already, but did you present you with garlic knots and fresh bread which was a wonderful touch. We all tried a variety of dishes. Cheese pizza was excellent with a nice garlic undertone. Zuppa di pesce - seafood pasta was out of this world. Huge pieces of seafood, and more than enough of it. I really enjoyed the roasted beet salad as well. The lasagna was huge. They did not skimp on the meat. Now the price was definitely more than we were looking to pay and I felt it was a bit steep, but the food was very good. I would be back if in the area. read more

Whoever handled reservations on Saturday January 11th over booked and it's madness. I have a 6:30 reservation and it is now 7:10. They booked big parties and didn't allot enough time. So now at least 20 people are infecting each other in the vestibule. Finally seated at a cold table by the door on folding chairs. Bad bad customer service for loyal customers. Still sitting here at 8:30 at night with no appetizers or food. Owner said everything is normal. Guess chaos is the norm up here at this hellhole. I've never had a bad experience at this restaurant but tonight our service was horrible. 1) The food took a long time to come out, 2) I ordered ravioli which was not edible because it was barely cooked, 3) our waitress took our order and we didn't see her again until we were halfway through our food 4) the seats were so far from the table that we had to sit on the edge of the seat to eat our food. We were told there's no way to move it closer to the table. It could be that it was Saturday night or that our waitress was terrible but this is not the service we've come to expect. I came here once 9 years ago and was unimpressed but service was great. 9 years later I'm not surprised why I was unimpressed. Service - Rude The service progressively became worse from making a reservation til the end of our meal. Strike 1: After 20 min with no phone call we came back to the hostess telling us "they called but we never picked up" which was odd since I received no phone call. Strike 2: The same hostess led our party of 4 to a table for 2. Still found that odd since there was a table that can comfortably fit a party for 4 vacant for the duration of our meal. Strike 3: The lack of direction after finding hair in the ravioli. It took multiple tries to bring this to the staff's attention. Now I don't blame the staff for this but it seems like management is unaware of how their staff is trained. (BTW the hair color was black/dark brown in case management was wondering ) Food - OK - Garlic knots & bread were great - Found a hair strand in the ravioli - Food took forever - Only recognizable flavor in the pork shoulder pasta was a lot of salt - Menu booklet had more options than Nanuet Diner Ambience - Joke I think the lights were meant to be dim so customers can't spot the hair in their food. Stopped in for lunch and was happy to see a lunch special menu. Place is immaculate and plenty of parking. The food was hot and delicious and the waiter was able to change the sauce for us. Portions are generous and we really enjoyed the meal. Could not resist the dessert and had the lava cake. A great experience all around. read more

We had dinner there last night with our son and daughter in law. The restaurant is beautiful and very spacious. Their menu is very large with many choices, pasta, fish, chicken, veal and beef. Our server Catherine was so helpful and was very personable. She helped us with choices from the menu. We had the hot antipasto for appetizer, it was delicious. For dinner we had ravioli bolognese, Apricot and pear pork chop, chicken Francese and Oscar's chicken banchetto. Everything was absolutely delicious and very generous portions. The food was good but the service was disappointing. As our food was placed on the table, a waiter(?) came over and tried to clear my son's dinner. When we said we had just started to eat and to please give us some time. another person came by with "to go" plastic dishes. To say that they wanted us(five) to get out of the restaurant is putting it mildly. At the end of the meal I spoke to the manager who was seated at the end of the bar ( We hadn't seen him during dinner which was on a Saturday evening) I told him that I thought the service was disgusting. it's true I used a rather strong word but he said "Look how crowded we are." I said, "I know. We've been here before and we are back." It's true I used a strong word but he tried to get me to back away from the word "disgusting" and at that point in time I wanted to say to this MANAGER, " Maybe you should be monitoring the restaurant instead of seating on a bar stool shooting the breeze." read more

I've been here before and its always been blah. However this experience really lowered the bar even further. My family and I stopped in for dinner and ordered the salmon with crab meat, spaghetti and meatballs, seafood risotto and chicken parmigiana. The seafood risotto was bland, no flavor at all, it came with a lobster tail that was so over cooked, if you dropped it on the floor it would have bounced. The salmon with crab meat came out raw and cold in the middle, when brought to the waiters attention he took it back and recooked the same piece. The spaghetti and meatballs tasted like chef boyardee, awful. And finally, the chicken parmigiana was alright, the chicken was over fried but that's not awful. They offered no compensation for serving raw fish. No manager walked over and apologized for the inconvenience. It almost seemed like it was a regular thing. Two thumbs down! read more

The food was excellent as always yet what caught my attention was the lack of respect, when we got seated it took us longer than usual to be greeted by our server. We came to celebrate a birthday but our table couldn't stop focusing on the waiters poor manors and rude facial expressions. Banchetto is a great Italian restaurant with delicious food and lovely staff. Today we went for lunch. We had the hot antipasto which had eggplant rollatini, meatballs, fried calamari & fried shrimp. All was delicious. I linguine & clams fry diavalo. It was so tasty but I was full from the hot antipasto so I will be eating for lunch tomorrow. The restaurant was PACKED on a Saturday afternoon at 1:00 and stayed packed until we left. Ive been here before & have had the mussels which were a favorite. Anything Ive ever had here has been really great. I wasn't a huge fan of the pizza but that is the only item I wouldn't recommend. read more
