I had given this place 5 subsequently need to drop the rating. 2 reasons: The 1st time I went there, I realized that that charged my credit card twice for the same dinner. I called them and was told a manager would look into it and call me back. I waited all day, so I called again. The manager stepped out, and I was told I would get a call back that day. No call, I called again today, and I was told a manager would call me back. I am still waiting. I have had to dispute the charge with my card company as I don't think they will help me. All this was not the best use of my time. 2nd reason I went back to the restaurant with my family this week. (Before I knew about the double charge above) My son and I ordered the Wagyu burger. This is about $6 more expensive than the smash burger and at $24, fairly expensive as far as burgers go. This was mediocre at best. It was greasy and no better than a burger you get at any diner. My son's was the same but had a little piece of bone in the patty. We both asked for the burger as Medium, but it came back well done. Avoid this disappointing menu item. It is not worth the cost. I actually felt cheated after I ate it.

Came here for Christmas brunch Has come here once before Nicely decorated for the holidays Had reservations Seated quickly and they accommodated us because we were exchanging gifts and there was 8 of us and had a great space for us. Ordered drinks that were delicious Bloody Mary and espresso martini specifically Food was also spot on I ate off everyone's plate as for some reason I ordered salad. SMH it was good but with everyone else meal around me I took some home. Steak and eggs, chicken and waffles and challah French toast were all very good Didn't give 5 stars because I'm a snob like that lol But 4.5 stars is what I wanted to give it. Will be back :)

I only have experience here eating breakfast, but it was very good considering it's a hotel restaurant. Got the herb omelet with spinach and Gruyère. I did get it with egg whites. The ratio of spinach and cheese to egg was perfect, not too much or too little of either. The avocado that it comes with is great to eat together with the side salad, which was covered in a nice raspberry vinaigrette. Really good, especially if you're staying at the hotel!

I ate here for breakfast and dinner and had completely opposite experiences. We had dinner on a Saturday night and sat outdoors to enjoy the live music. Our server Nora was very attentive and brought out all the food in a timely manner. We wanted to sample the menu so everything was shared. The truffle flat bread was really good compared to the mozzarella flatbread. The Caesar and little gem salad were fresh and good portion sized. The pretzel dusted calamari was delicious and came with a variety of dipping sauces. The tagliatelle and lobster ravioli can be passed on. There was a special for a tomahawk steak and it was perfectly cooked. The creme brûlée cheesecake and the banoffee pie were great desserts to end the night. When we arrived in the morning for Sunday brunch we had a completely different experience. There was only one server taking care of all the tables. We placed all our orders around 1115 but didn't get them until 45 minutes later. Our cappuccinos were given after our entrees were served at around 1215. The brunch items were all pretty good except for the breakfast burrito. Maybe hire more staff for a Sunday morning.

The menu looked amazing and we're excited but we're worried we weren't dressed appropriately, Caroline insured us we woke fit in just fine. I personally love to dine at the bar when possible especially with a great bartender like Izzy. We were the first ones there by accident which can feel funny but Izzy was so warm and welcoming and very eager to meet us and tell us about the epic menu and the show stopping desserts. We told Izzy our drink preferences and he nailed it each drink. We started with a dozen oysters that were incredible and shocked perfectly. Then followed that with the bone marrow which had a tasteful amount of chimichurri sauce and a side of crunchy salt to use for your liking. It was delicious! We were temped to next get the octopus but needed room for the "bar only specials" which is a brilliant idea very unique. It was a wagu blend cheese burger with arugula and a delicious black garlic spread and perfectly cooked fries. Perfect for sharing! A dinner isn't complete without an espresso martini! I highly recommend this place to any food enthusiast and fan of wine, spirits and excellent desserts. Lastly the decor was also amazing. The chef's not only designs top notch desserts he also did the wood work art along the bar. I also loved the pictures of all the people in the back of the restaurant over the course of there decades of business. Lastly the history is incredible it use to be the village hall and jailhouse! They incorporated the jail into a wine cellar that seats two people for a fun drink before or after dinner. Highly give this place a 10 out of 10 for excellent food, drink, service and vibes! Check them out and tell Izzy Stacey says hi!

The care and detail in everything presented to the diner are so thoughtful. The drinks deserve just as much praise and are beautifully crafted. If you're lucky enough to visit on a night when Izzy is behind the bar, consider yourself fortunate. He's not only a "DJ" of cocktails, but warm, friendly, and fun to be around. Honestly, sitting at the bar is just as good as, if not better than, a seat in the dining room. We travel from Manhattan just to come here, and Hudson House never disappoints. It's the kind of place you find yourself returning to again and again, and recommending to everyone you know.

First impression walking in, the place is beatifully decorated. It is tasteful and elegant yet inviting and family friendly. My first stop was to the restroom and I gotta say, the place looked spotless which gives you a sense of confidence in the cleanliness of the environment. I also noticed that it is a very large and open space which would be a perfect venue to celebrate any occasion as a big group. When I walked in I noticed that it was a lively and warm ambiace tha makes you feel comfortable to be there. The food: The food was great! Very tasty and fresh. I had the big boy burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was delicious and tho I knew it included jalapeños, I was surprised at how spicy it was. When I looked, it had big pieces of jalapeños w some seeds. No wonder it was too hot, not the jar jalapeños. I took some of it out and enjoyed the whole thing. I didn't finish my fries because they were soggy. No crunch at all. My date on the other hand, ordered a churrasco with yuca fries. The bartender messed up his order and brought him what is called "Portuguesa Churrascaria" which includes grilled skirt steak, pork chop, chicken, and chorizo with moro rice and sweet plantains. Tho it was not what he ordered, he was glad they served him that. It was delicious. It was nicely seasoned, nicely plated and overall very satisfying. Big serving! The yuca fries was dissapointing as I was expecting more of the typical latin crunchy yuca fries where it is first boiled and then fried. This was more like yuca puree, breaded and fried...think mozzarella sticks. Overall this place is worth visiting. Bring your date, bring your friends, bring yo mama, bring your kids, impress your clients...whatever! just visit, you wont regret it. Adorable. We were debating between this place and a brunchier establishment across the parking lot, but this won out largely because the sunny outdoor patio area beckoned and it seemed like the perfect spot for our outdoor eating seasonal debut. I always get a little hot and bothered when I see tater skins on an apps menu, so that was an easy call for us. The waiter told us immediately they were "homemade" and not processed - in hindsight, I'm not really sure what would distinguish them as homemade other than that they don't come out of a TGI Fridays box in the freezer, but regardless, they were tasty. A LITTLE overly fried but hard to go wrong with the almighty tater. A lot of the entrees looked intriguing but I impulsively went for the fresh burrata ravioli (a choice that visibly startled my chum, who should really be used to eating with me after all these years, but no matter). Also good - the sauce was a little watery and the accompanying pieces of garlic bread were just okay but it was a solid portion especially for lunch and didn't last long. In hindsight, I don't think this type of dish is really their bread and butter so I'd probably get something else next time, but still ultimately a win. My chum got the Chicken Caesar Wrap from the specials menu and enjoyed it - insisting that I take a picture of that as well. So enjoy that. It's here. In what was an encouraging theme, the dessert section also had a bunch of items that we both were interested in. After finding out that the bread pudding was a little TOO authentic for my palate (aka it had raisins in it), we ordered the Hudson Valley Apple Crisp. Delightful. I think it could have used a little more ice cream, but that was a pleasant palate cleanser. The real star of the show here - among an impressive list of contenders - was the service. We had a fantastic waiter who was very friendly and pleasant, with a lot of thoughts on the menu and restaurant overall. We also a brief visit from presumably someone in management/ownership who stopped by to check in on us, which was a nice touch. We were the only ones out on the patio and possibly in the entire restaurant, so arguably we SHOULD have gotten the lion's share of attention, but still. It was an intangible that legitimately and dramatically improved the overall experience, which is the ideal. I have some residual PTSD from the atrocious restaurant scene in the northern part of Rockland, but places like this ease my trauma considerably. Stick to the southern section.
