I very rarely explore restaurants in Rockland, so imagine my excitement when I visited this restaurant with my date in June (sorry for the late review, guys). The food was delicious and we really enjoyed ourselves. The service was great, and our waiter knew when to stop by and when to let us be. The ambiance was cute as well. I would totally visit again!

First time for two of us at Michael's my other friend had been there what a lovely restaurant. Food was delicious n the staff amazing. Loved the coziness of the set up.

While I'm in New York I try to find Italian restaurants. I found this hidden gem that blew my mind with the amount of food and the quality. My friend and I ordered a three course meal and every dish was freshly made extremely savory with each bite. We enjoyed our meal out side, nice little set up. Restaurant well maintained with great service. I cannot wait to eat here again.

    The awesome Cronut.

Nice place. Upon searching the area for a nice place to dine in, came across this one and it looked good enough to try. Glad I did. The online menu (that I saw) differs slightly from the in house menu, so keep that in mind. From the days leading up to coming here until I finally was looking at the menu live, I simply couldn't decide what I wanted - steak or lobster. I had settled on the 'Land & Sea', which had both, before I got here. Once here, they didn't offer that on the menu - but they were gracious enough to offer to put a tail on the fillet mignon for a slight extra cost, so I got what I wanted in the end. Needless to say, everything tasted great and the mignon was generously portioned and cooked the way I wanted. The tail was a good size and plump. I also ordered the French onion soup as an app and it was done right. Perfect actually. For dessert - it was difficult to settle on just one thing, but tried the cronut, which was divine. The staff here was excellent. Literally everyone from the hostess to the waitress to the bus boy were friendly as can be, even though the place was crowded and busy. That is always a great sign. It's strongly recommended you make a reservation on a Friday/Saturday evening. I went on a Friday and I had made a reservation and I was so thankful I did. It was very crowded coming here and when I came inside, I saw a line and every table was occupied except the one I made a reservation on. The place is small and there is limited parking. When I Google Earthed the area, I figured I should be able to easily find a spot, but the area was crowded and there were no spots - either on the grounds (which shares the space with other businesses) or even on the grounds next door. Nothing in the street. I was lucky on my third rotation that someone in a strange spot in the street was pulling out. So arrive earlier and expect to look for parking on a busy night. All in all, a great place and option. They have more than enough menu choices to satisfy most and everything was delicious and made right. Again, everyone was welcoming and friendly, which makes the entire experience that much more. I'd recommend this place to anyone wanting good food and a great dining experience.

Enjoyed a great dinner here. Good quality ingredients and cooked perfectly. Very loud and noisy inside and small. Wait staff top notch. Plenty of parking.

Alaskan cod had taken a taste before the pictures was taken.

I guess I can call this a follow visit. I was here two years ago. What an improvement! The stuffed artichoke was absolutely delicious! The alaskan cod and it just as good as the stuffed artichoke dish. Mom had the chicken parmesan and the chicken she felt that the chicken could have been cooked a little her her liking. The service is always on point, professional and respectful. The atmosphere was pleasant, relaxing and fresh. The establishment is absolutely beautiful.

We felt the hot dogs were rubbery in texture, and they tasted like they were reheated. The matzoh ball soup was bland. My mother enjoyed her pastrami sandwich. As far as atmosphere goes, the first table we sat at was wobbly. and when we transfered to the other, we found the table and season shakers to be sticky. The greatest disappointment was not the mediocre food, or the sticky table but what we witnessed. An elderly couple was sitting at the other table. The gentleman asked a server, possibly the owner or manager, for a glass of tap water. The response from the server was, "We don't have glasses of water here, but you can buy a bottle and I'll bring your two cups." We found this to be uncourteous and unwelcoming, and we felt a little embarassed for the nice couple. It seems that when a nice couple comes in to patronize your restaurant, and purchase a lunch, a little water would not be an unreasonable request. Any restaurant that treats elderly people this way will not receive my future business.

Located in a small plaza with 7-11 and a few other small stores, we were greeted right away upon entering. There were a few customers but it was not packed which meant we got a booth, yay. The waiter informed us of the specials, most of which I hesitate to order at a diner: paella, octopus, steak, etc. The menu is plentiful with the usual items as well as more Spanish dishes like empanadas, Spanish breakfast, etc. The Italian vegetable panini with salad was not bad but it was odd that the salad had the same ingredients as the panini (sans portobellos), leaving the while dish feeling one note. The burger was the typical diner burger. Overall pricing was okay, given rising costs, though some of the entrees were $25-30+, which i wouldn't do. I wonder what the Spanish dishes would have tasted like because perhaps those are their stars. Service was attentive, though it felt like they were trying to make this more into an elevated experience vs. what it was. I did like the bathrooms a little better than other diners, and I felt pretty comfortable in the little restaurant space.

Got a triple-decker chicken cutlet sandwich, which was pretty good. Sister got a chicken and eggplant thing on a pita. Also OK. The portions were generous. The waffle and regular fries were standard diner fries, which is a good thing. Now for the chili. It is straight up marinara bolognese. I guarantee this is the exact same stuff they serve on spaghetti. They just throw some cheddar on it and serve it next to some chips. Pretty bad. Other than that, not bad. Again, should have gotten the omelet

I had to glance directly at the setting sun. The manager came and said "the sun will set soon", but it didn't. Thankfully my husband moved his chair to the side and blocked the sun for me. We'd rather have waited for another table had we known of the sun. Our waitress never read us the specials, which we later heard at nearby tables. Our water had no lemon in it, while everyone around us had lemon. We enjoyed our appetizer of Zucchini chips, and the Tzadiki was fantastic. The dinner rolls were also nice. My husband ordered Fettuccine Alfredo, which he liked, but the portion was small, & he had no problem finishing all of it. I ordered Chicken Milanese. The Milanese wasn't crisp enough, so when they piled salad on top with Balsamic Vinaigrette, it got a little soggy, even though I immediately took the salad off. My chicken cutlet had a large cut halfway across it. Possibly it was cut to see if it was done, but don't they have a meat thermometer? Maybe they figured that with a salad on top, the large cut wouldn't be seen? I noticed it though. Worst for me though was the vegetable side dish. Instead of a healthy vegetable, I was given a mushy, over-cooked Cauliflower covered in Buffalo Hot Sauce and butter. I'm guessing that they had made Buffalo Cauliflower for an appetizer another day, and had some leftover, so they decided to use it as a vegetable side? Hey, if I wanted leftovers, I'd have eaten at home. The waitress who never read us the specials also never came by to ask if everything was okay. I'd like it if someone at Ella's realizes that good customers can recognize when things are not up to the usual high standards. We notice when leftovers are served as side dishes. We notice when entrees are cut into. We don't enjoy being given tables with sun glare. We used to enjoy Ella's, and we hope that this was just an off day.
