Excellent nonchain pizza with a thin-ish crust and Sicilian slices, with the Roman and gardener being favorites It's a small no frills place that is a staple in the area for takeout though they do tout a room for events. I haven't eaten any of their other more "fine" dishes but they do have plenty on the menu (eg, seafood, steak, pastas). Service has been typical of these types of places but you're really just here for the food. There's an additional charge for credit card so definitely bring cash. read more

This is based off the full Dining room experience (not the pizza - which is excellent!) The dining room area itself needs a facelift. It's very dingy in there and kind of sad. You can see the dirt around the arch door frame. You can tell they don't take pride in the appearance of the space. There were gnats flying around our table as well. The water tasted like dirt, I ask for a ginger ale but was never offered a refill. The Mozzarella in Carrozza was not worth ordering, the piece of mozz on there is pitiful. They did give you garlic knots (one per person) and they were very good, came alongside a basket of bread. I had the chicken parm and it was good. My bf had the bow ties and he liked it as well! He was happy they were able to do it without the peas. I wouldn't come back for the dining experience but I'll always come back for the Deep Dish pizza. read more

Posa posa was recommended by a family member that has been there a couple of times. The restaurant is actually split into 2 different dining sections. If you're facing Posa Posa, the right of the restaurant is the dine in area and to the left is the pizza take out area. Service wasn't that great in the beginning. The waiter came once in a while to check on us and then disappears for another 15 minutes. We ordered 2 pastas, 1 grandma pie, mozzarella sticks. The food portion was hefty. We were a family of 7 and were still able to have leftovers to take home. The garlic knots was alright, since it's on the house there's no real complaints however it could use a bit more time in the over to crisp up the top. The recommendation was hyped up, no real wow factor to this restaurant. read more

Every single time I go, I order to eat in. Every single time I taste the food it is lukewarm at best. The food is good, but it is never never hot enough. I always give them the benefit of the doubt, but whenever I order, and I ask them to please make sure it's hot, it appears to annoy them, and they keep it in the oven for so long that it almost burns. I went in today and ordered, he rang up the food, I used my debit card, he just dropped it onto the tray instead of handing it out back to me, and my card was greasy as heck! Come to think of it I never see anyone washing their hands or using hand sanitizer or using gloves when handling food He put my food in the oven with his bare hands... took care of the other customers who were using cash, so obviously the money is dirty... handled my credit card. Then he put his hands on my food and put it on the plate. Only to go onto the next customer He appears to be the owner always looks mad The other gentleman behind the counter are always pleasant enough, but again I have never observed hand hygiene, as I am sure this occurs with most restaurants. I have to recommend the Chicken Scarpariello. It's a simple dish--chicken on the bone, roasted in a white wine and garlic sauce. It comes with either salad or pasta. We love both, although we order more pizzas than sitting down for a full meal. I used to love the pizza at Posa Posa, and used to go there often. I went there recently to buy a plain cheese pie, after not having been there for the past 3 years. The pizza was a huge disappointment to me and my family. The best part of the pizza was the crust, but even the crust was not as crispy and tasty as it used to be. The pizza had thick, spongy cheese. The sauce was barely visible, and tasted bland and salty. It was nothing like it used to be. Before I picked up the pizza, I checked the online menu, and it said that a plain pie was $16.95. I handed the guy a $20 bill and he gave me back 20 cents, making the total $19.80. The sales tax in Nanuet is 8.375%, so the total with tax should have been $18.37. I didn't say anything because I was in a hurry, but it appears I was ripped off. Based on my recent experience, I will not be returning. read more

Hit the spot with great pizza. I will say my husband did order a chicken Cesar salad. And when we took it home I guess we didn't expect to see so much seafood in it. It had octopus and squid/calamari (but not fried) def the most unique chicken Cesar salad we've ever had. We picked around it. Back in the eighties my father used to drag me here with regularity claiming that pound for pound Posa Posa was the best Italian joint in Rockland County. I didn't have the heart to tell him that he may be wrong... and besides, he was paying so who was I to get between a zealot and his credit card. The pizza was always excellent but their broader menu suffered from the tendency of these storefront trattorias to drown everything in sauce rendering the veal, chicken or eggplant only distinguishable by their dental records. Always very good but nothing to make the kitchen gods of Sicily nervous. On a recent pass through the old haunts, we stopped in for a bite and amazingly nothing has really changed. Recently moved to Nanuet from Queens and didn't think we would ever find a pizza place like the ones they had in the 5 boroughs...but we were wrong. The family loves this place. They have a sit down portion to the restaurant too but the pizza and the food is comparable to some of the best Italian pizza parlors in the NYC area.
