You can do the El Typico half chicken, tacos which my sons say are rocking, steak platters in all their various combinations, and these wee Jammie cake style pupusa things. A novelty for me, very popular in Latin America apparently, they are enclosed buckwheat pancakes with a choice of fillings. Some of which you've never heard of, so try them. This is grass roots cooking, and I am a fan. In a low sodium World, the tropical propensity for salt is punkette, the spice combinations are unfamiliar but pleasing. Expect to pay fifteen bucks a head per adult, leaving plenty of opportunity for a jumbo tip. Don't go if you are stuck up.

There's several tables for indoor and outdoor seating, but food is given in take out containers and given plastic utensils. We ordered 2 chicken tacos, a vegetarian bowl, a chicken quesadilla, and a side of chips. To be honest, the food was all pretty average at best. The chicken wasn't that flavorful and a bit on the dry side, and cheese was very underwhelming. Chips were served without salsa, and they asked for an extra $2 if we wanted some salsa. While the guy at the counter was nice, the whole experience was just average and underwhelming to the point where we would have been better off getting fast food. I was expecting much better given the online ratings. While Taco Boys did the job of filling us up, we probably won't be back when traveling through the area again.

No frills, no flashy atmosphere -- just comida auténtica and seriously satisfying flavors. I ordered the carne asada nachos and an order of tacos al pastor, and both hit the spot perfectly. Fresh ingredients, bold flavor, and that classic street-style taco taste that instantly lifts your ánimo on a gloomy day. The nachos were loaded, cheesy, and packed with flavor, while the al pastor tacos were simple, fresh, and delicioso. And yes... we washed it all down with a Coke Zero in a glass bottle because somehow it siempre tastes better that way. Now, if you're looking for upbeat energy and polished service, este lugar probably isn't it. The staff seemed a bit inexperienced and lacked motivation. But where the service fell short, the kitchen absolutely delivered with authentic flavors and generous portions. Sometimes the best spots are the quiet little hole-in-the-wall places that let the food do all the talking.

We each got margaritas - I got a habanero one and he got a strawberry one. Mine was literally one of the best margaritas I've ever had, and I'm pretty picky about them. Super spicy (which I love) and basically not sweet at all (also a plus). My boyfriend thought his was great too. The complimentary salsa has a really nice kick to it and I couldn't stop eating it. Then I ordered the shrimp fajitas, but asked for it spicy (there's a theme here) and the waiter said he added a chipotle sauce to them when they came out. Insanely insanely delicious. Only complaint was that the shrimp tasted very.. fishy? Almost frozen or not fresh, but I ate it all regardless. And there's something about the refried beans here - they're addicting. My boyfriend doesn't even like beans and ate them all. So so good. Also, our waiters were super nice and attentive and made it feel very cozy. Would come back plenty more time to try some other stuff!

We got there around 3:30pm on a Saturday and the place was surprisingly dead, which I didn't mind at all. They gave us chips and salsa, which were perfect--salsa was tasty and the chips were crunchy and not too salty. We also were given a complimentary cheese quesadilla! I loved that! I didn't know what I wanted so I got a Combination platter with a hard shell taco, an enchilada and a flauta, the waitress made a substitution for me, which I appreciated. Our food came out pretty quick and good because I was starving! Food was yummy, and I cleaned my plate. I'd definitely come back here!!
