Rainy days and tacos just make sense together…read more While driving near Nyack, NY, we stumbled across a small hidden gem called El Cuñao Taqueria & Deli tucked away from the busier stretch of Main Street. No frills, no flashy atmosphere -- just comida auténtica and seriously satisfying flavors. I ordered the carne asada nachos and an order of tacos al pastor, and both hit the spot perfectly. Fresh ingredients, bold flavor, and that classic street-style taco taste that instantly lifts your ánimo on a gloomy day. The nachos were loaded, cheesy, and packed with flavor, while the al pastor tacos were simple, fresh, and delicioso. And yes... we washed it all down with a Coke Zero in a glass bottle because somehow it siempre tastes better that way. Now, if you're looking for upbeat energy and polished service, este lugar probably isn't it. The staff seemed a bit inexperienced and lacked motivation. But where the service fell short, the kitchen absolutely delivered with authentic flavors and generous portions. Sometimes the best spots are the quiet little hole-in-the-wall places that let the food do all the talking.

There's several tables for indoor and outdoor seating, but food is given in take out containers and given plastic utensils. We ordered 2 chicken tacos, a vegetarian bowl, a chicken quesadilla, and a side of chips. To be honest, the food was all pretty average at best. The chicken wasn't that flavorful and a bit on the dry side, and cheese was very underwhelming. Chips were served without salsa, and they asked for an extra $2 if we wanted some salsa. While the guy at the counter was nice, the whole experience was just average and underwhelming to the point where we would have been better off getting fast food. I was expecting much better given the online ratings. While Taco Boys did the job of filling us up, we probably won't be back when traveling through the area again.

The decor gives you that warm, colorful, lived-in Mexican restaurant feel with the artwork, the arched brick walls, and little details everywhere you look. It is the kind of place that just feels good to be in. I have tried both the Jerk Chicken Salad (on my third visit) and the Chipotle Chicken Pasta (my second visit), and honestly the pasta won for me. It was flavorful, satisfying, and just really well done. The salad looks amazing and I was so excited to try it, but it was a lot to work with and just did not hit the same way. Sometimes the pasta is just the move, and now I know. On my third visit, my friend ordered the quesadilla and the yuca fries, and those yuca fries were really great. Definitely worth ordering!! The service was warm and attentive, which always makes a difference. You can tell this place genuinely cares about the experience they are giving people. Overall, I would recommend Casa Del Sol. Just maybe skip the salad and go straight for the pasta. You can thank me later.

The doors are saloon style and have a good 1-in gap between them so as you're sitting in the toilet it's just very open. Parking is also a pain in the behind down that area. My friend and I parked in the same parking lot but the app would only go till 6:00 p.m. And the kiosk went to 7:00 p.m.. Luckily we did not get a ticket but we don't know what the difference was and why it was charging us differently. I know that has nothing to do with the restaurant I was just giving information around the area. Really cute place and area,

The food is good. It's not fancy, and that should keep the snobs away, but it has the essential combination of scent, visuals, taste and the inner warmth a cook who loves a dish can make. You can do the El Typico half chicken, tacos which my sons say are rocking, steak platters in all their various combinations, and these wee Jammie cake style pupusa things. A novelty for me, very popular in Latin America apparently, they are enclosed buckwheat pancakes with a choice of fillings. Some of which you've never heard of, so try them. This is grass roots cooking, and I am a fan. In a low sodium World, the tropical propensity for salt is punkette, the spice combinations are unfamiliar but pleasing. Part of the meal I ate was a little dry, but that's what the excellent salsa is for, and everyone at the table is coming back. There is no booze, which is a good thing in working mens establishments playing football, and the while the drinks selection is authentic it is limited. Expect to pay fifteen bucks a head per adult, leaving plenty of opportunity for a jumbo tip. Don't go if you are stuck up.
