The lengua taco was good, chopped but identifiable, and the tripa was A+ being a bit crunchy and flavorful. All of the tacos came topped the same with onions and cilantro (which was bearable to me and my cilantro gene). The tacos come with limes, a charred onion, and house sauces- the red is less spicy than the green. The sabado y domingo portion of the menu is just things that are available on Saturday and Sunday, such as the barbacoa de chivo, tamales, caldo de pensa, the foods that take time. I would have been tempted but then... tacos. On another weekend visit I would for sure want to try the barbacoa. I wasn't sure if it would be just a counter or not but there are a number of large tables in their space, and the staff will bring the food to you once you order. It's a ultilarian place trying to feed their people on the cheaper side while still giving them tasty food. Parking - it's all street. Tuck in your side mirrors. The streets are narrow. They take card and cash, but the prices are not listed on the menu.

My friend and went there on a complete whim. It popped up when we were searching for a place to go…read more Boy, am I so glad we did!! First, the place is very clean and well kept. Decor was minimal but nice and comfortable. Had great music in the background (80's rock - yes I'm GenX). We decided to sample a few things so for appetizers we got the mini calzones (sausage and broccoli rabe) that came 3 on a plate and were about the size of a ravioli and stuffed full. Absolutely delicious. Not overwhelming in garlic taste or sausage - a perfect balance. We also got the lobster dumplings. This came in a small bowl with broccoli florets and a tasty sauce. There were 4 dumplings and again, perfect balance, did not have an overwhelming lobster smell at all and the sauce was tangy with a sweet aftertaste. We also had the ahi tuna tacos, came 2 on a plate, piled high with cabbage, a slice of avocado, tuna, and a crème sauce that left me wanting more, and 2 cucumber slices on top. Again - delicious. For dinner we split the Ahi Tuna and it came with Soba Noodles and Bok Choi in a sauce. The tuna was seared with, what tased like, crushed red pepper flakes but it only had a slight "kick" to it. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted so great. We got the polenta on the side and it was perfect for offsetting the spice! Dessert matched the meal in its taste and presentation! We had the dark chocolate mousse and the napoleon. I think the best part of both was the ice cream that came with it, a perfect addition to the dessert and presented with such elegance that you almost didn't want to eat it. Our waiter was fantastic. He gave us some good suggestions that we went with and did not steer us wrong. Right now, they are BYOB. We had a great chat with the chef on our way out and he was super nice and friendly (and he beat Bobby Flay!). This is our new favorite place and can't wait to go back to try more. They have a lunch menu that is different from the dinner menu that I can't wait to try. Chef Michael says his chicken burger is the best! Gotta try it!!

Rainy days and tacos just make sense together…read more While driving near Nyack, NY, we stumbled across a small hidden gem called El Cuñao Taqueria & Deli tucked away from the busier stretch of Main Street. No frills, no flashy atmosphere -- just comida auténtica and seriously satisfying flavors. I ordered the carne asada nachos and an order of tacos al pastor, and both hit the spot perfectly. Fresh ingredients, bold flavor, and that classic street-style taco taste that instantly lifts your ánimo on a gloomy day. The nachos were loaded, cheesy, and packed with flavor, while the al pastor tacos were simple, fresh, and delicioso. And yes... we washed it all down with a Coke Zero in a glass bottle because somehow it siempre tastes better that way. Now, if you're looking for upbeat energy and polished service, este lugar probably isn't it. The staff seemed a bit inexperienced and lacked motivation. But where the service fell short, the kitchen absolutely delivered with authentic flavors and generous portions. Sometimes the best spots are the quiet little hole-in-the-wall places that let the food do all the talking.
