Service in the restaurant was very welcoming I was greeted as soon as I walked in and even offered extra tortillas chips before I left! Our family enjoyed this place as we wanted to check-out the newer food establishments in the area. There is a parking lot available. Upon entering, the place is spacious and has a few tables for indoor dining to the right. I personally liked the colorful tiles on the tables. You can order using the kiosk to your left, or head straight up to the cashier. We ordered the chicken quesadilla, shrimp burrito, shrimp taco, birria taco, and carnita taco. They were all freshly made, savory, juicy, and delicious. There is also a salad bar that has additional condiments in case you wanted. The prices were also reasonable. Got takeout from here and as I was walking to my car, one of the street corns I ordered fell through the bag because the bottom of the bag was wet for some reason. I went back into the restaurant and showed them what happened and they told me there was nothing they could do. I was shocked because I was literally just in there 30 seconds ago. The street corn is $4 and somehow that's too much for them to replace? I would have figured that good customer service is well worth that, but apparently not. We did take out from El Taco. Unfortunately, the experience didn't pen out as we were anticipating. I got a steak, a chicken and a Baja fish taco. I couldn't really tell any difference between steak and chicken, there was no real taste difference. The Baja fish was also so bland. Seemed like none of the proteins got any seasoning. This is the newest spot to eat in Closter. I believe it's the only Mexican spot in Closter too. It's good to see some culture in this town. Location is right next to a CVS and my local favorite French place for breakfast. It's been open for about a month now. The place is packed and the line is out the door. There is usually about a 5-10 minute wait to order since the place is new, followed by 4-8 minutes to receive the food. The kitchen is fully exposed and very small. Which makes the time length totally understandable. The menu is very easy to read, and they have a bunch of options. Not too many that it makes you confusing, which I appreciate. I had to try multiple items on the menu here, since I've been waiting for this place to open for a while. I ordered chips and guacamole (obviously), chicken quesadilla, the fish tacos, the carne asada tacos and last but not least the street corn. Starting with the guacamole and chips. OMFG. They are fresh and super hot in the bag as soon as you receive them. The guacamole is so fresh and satisfying, this is a MUST HAVE here. Literally rate it a 10/10. Next, the chicken quesadilla was magically, first of all it was huge and came with 4 slices almost as big as pizzas slices. The chicken was fresh and very tender, the cheese was amazing. Rating the chicken quesadilla 8/10. They give you sour cream with the quesadilla, but just a very small container. I then ordered the taco Baja fish, that was actually pretty good. Rating the fish taco 7/10. The carne asada tacos was okay, I wasn't a fan of the seasoning. The taco meat tasted more like indian rather then Mexican, or Spanish seasoning. The cilantro makes it taste fresh, but I wasn't in love with them. I would rate them 6/10. Last but not least the street corn, drenched in mayo, cojita cheese. This is 1000% a must buy! Heard about this place from friends, we ordered for delivery! First, delivery was prompt and you can track your order easily via text message from restaurant. One order of loaded nachos can be a main dish, it's piled high, and delicious! The mini beef empanadas were so good. We ordered the Three Birria Tacos with consommé was incredible! I literally can drink the consommé like a soup, yummy! Then we tried the steak and shrimp combo, truly the BEST BURRITO I've ever had, it was phenomenal! My partner brought home tacos today, even after our bad experience. He brought home octopus and carnitas tacos. The tacos are still expensive at around 4 dollars per taco. Got the birria burrito. I was really excited because it's hard to find good birria around northern valley. The burrito was poorly constructed. The rice was all on one side and was dry. The beef was packed densely on another end and was also dry. I brought this up to the staff and they gave me a cup of consome which was absolutely amazing. Ordered pastor burritos bowl with rice and beans and no pineapple (who wants that?!!). Marinated pork was ok but not flavorful, very few beans which is a big minus for moi. Partner got carne Asada quesadillas I think. Ordered fries which were delicious (I know it's taboo but she loves fries and they were slightly crunchy and well cooked. Being a transplant from Southern California, I'm always looking for good Mexican food and this place doesn't disappoint. Stopped in on opening week and even with them ironing things out food came out quickly, and accurately which is more than I can say of some places lately. Pros: ordered an AL Pastor taco which is my go to in order to judge a taco spot. It was great. Fresh handmade tortilla, fresh meat off the spit, and great pineapple. Had some spice but not overpowering, moreso a Chipotle smoky type heat. I also ordered Guac and chips and this place gets it. Creamy, flavorful guac and house made chips that are actually salted correctly! Cons: I also ordered a Carne Asada Burrito and I think it needs some slight changes. There are too much beans given the quantity of everything else. It's incredibly mushy and the meat just gets completely lost. Wasn't able to get any of the flavor from the meat sadly. I think maybe about half the amount of beans and sub for rice and it would be a killer burrito because the housemade tortilla was it's saving grace. I'll definitely be coming back for tacos. I would buy the tortillas by the bagful if I could alone. Looking forward to trying the other proteins. read more

The manager came over and asked what the problem was. All I asked was can I get only one short rib taco instead of having to order 3 so that I can order 3 "different" tacos including one short rib taco. The manager was rude and treating me like I was being difficult, all I asked was a question and the answer to it was. It's in the system that way and nothing can be changed. Ordered the Birria Tacos with consomme and loaded fries. 1 star for the tacos, and 4 stars for the fries, so 2.5 stars. The birria tacos were by far the worst birria experience I've ever had. The meat was super dry, with none of the tender and fall-apart juicy characteristics of slow-cooked meat. The consome had ZERO spices or flavor, and tasted like beef stock with cilantro and onion thrown on top. I honestly can't believe other reviews are giving 5 stars to this watered-down birria. It's supposed to be a flavor bomb! Please go taste it elsewhere. The loaded fries were the saving grace of the meal. Loaded with cheese, guac and salsa, and crispy. I do praise their salsa bar, which had lots of choices and were packed with flavor. I won't be going back to enjoy it however. read more
