This place is not fancy at all but the tacos are delish! The carne asada are amazing. Don't forget the fresh spicy green sauce. It takes the taco to another level. read more

The place, the workers, and service there don't look like much. But the food is decent. At 2$ a taco, I can have a decently filling lunch for 8$ out the door. The waiter didn't speak english well. Didn't really bother me. Raised four fingers and said "Taco de Bistec, thanks". The guy brought me bottled water without really asking. Had to ask for a "CUP of water" and return the bottle. I wonder what that was about. So far, it's a slightly above average taco place. Sure beats taco bell by few country miles. I'm going to try few other dishes here and if they are as good, I'll raise it to four star at that point. read more

Many of my friends were telling me to try this taco place... claiming it was delicious. I went with my mom to try it and unfortunately it was a disappointment. The service wasn't the best. But as for the tacos - they just lacked flavor, spice and seemed skimpy on the meat for the price. I will not be coming back. read more

The owners daughter or whoever she may be and a new girl are so rude and charged me more then what they cost .

Great tacos!! Would definitely recommend. Service was fast and ready for pick up when I arrived

Tacos were amazing! A little bit over priced for me but the quality was there! The place is very dim but it is conveniently open 24/7. read more

Tacos Picantes - Small Carne tacos. 4 for $10 - Mexican Near Me - Spring Valley, New York

I hate saying this mainly because it sounds "douchy" but these tacos are actually *authentic* ... decor is dingy, lighting is dim, but theres a real laid back vibe here, who cares about ambience when youre eating amazing tacos. hats off to you, picantes read more

I ordered the green enchiladas and let me tell you those were the saddest enchiladas I've ever had. They are just so plain and taste very bland. I also tried tacos de birria and they didn't taste good whatsoever. Worst birria I've ever tried. Another bummer is that this place was so quiet maybe even too quiet. I had to play my music so it won't be so awkward in here. Wouldn't come again. read more

So obsessed with the steak tacos. So delicious. I am addicted. For real. I just need to try other items there but right now it's the steak tacos every single time! read more

I heard about this restaurant from my boyfriend. I called and ordered tacos this woman talking about she's busy when I tell her to hold on because I wanted to order more stuff how rude won't be ordering from them ever again woman on the phone is very rude and nasty can't hardly speak any English next time put somebody on the phone that could speak English. read more

This place is way to low key! Parking is a little tight but they are 24/7!!!! And with legit the best tacos in rockland county for price as well. Hidden GEM. A must go sober or drunk! read more

I've only been here once but I would definitely come again. The tacos I had were delicious-chorizo and the bbq. The only problem I had was how small the tacos were. You are definitely going to want more than two. The green sauce had a little bit of a kick to it which I enjoyed. The sangria that I ordered was like grape juice almost; it was nonalcoholic and not what I expected. When I tried to explain to my waitress that I didn't really want the sangria, she just looked at me confused. I should spruce up on my Spanish. Paying was kind of confusing and we waited !for some time before someone came to our table. Keep in mind that they only accept cash! read more

The Tacos are very good. Reasonable prices, too. I'm headed back today lol. The green sauce slaps, too! I truly have no complaints. The folks are super nice. Ample parking. Quick service. You can thank me later. read more

If you want authentic Mexican tacos, like you would find on many streets all over Mexico, you have to try these. It really brings me back to traveling around Mexico. Also, they don't speak English, so you don't get more Authentic then that. Just know a few words in Spanish, like "Pollo" (Chicken), "Caritas" (Pork), "Tacos" (Tacos), "Para Llevar" (to go). And you'll be set. Enjoy! read more

Tacos Picantes - Wow - Mexican Near Me - Spring Valley, New York

I was in the mood for tacos, really good authentic tacos. Since I was in the burbs visiting relatives, I was doubtful about finding authentic Mexican eats. I of course Yelped it and decided to check this place out. This part of town is working class ethnic so a lot of the establishments are authentic. Winner! Service was friendly, restaurant was clean, and the eaters were all of Latin descent (always a good sign). Most importantly, the tacos was muy bueno!! I ordered 2 tacos de pollo and 1 al pastor...Delicioso! The al pastor was full of flavor, fresh and tender, should've ordered 2! The chicken tacos were good too but having al pastor tacos for the first time really left an impression on me. I feel like this is the taco to judge all other al pastor tacos against. Don't let the size of the tacos ($2) fool you...they are packed with flavor and enough meat that you'll be willing to pay $5 for each. They also have tacos that adventurous foodies love to eat, like the head, tongue, tripe and yummy pork skin. All tacos are $2. I also ordered the guacamole ($6). It seemed like they must've used 2-3 avocados with for each order and came with homemade chips. It was made to order so again the freshness was apparently there. Very happy with my order and Tacos Picante. It really is authentic Mexican. Highly recommended. read more

So I just wanted some tacos and guacamole! So I searched and found this place. You won't be disappointed! The guacamole is amazing with freshly made chips! I had the Tacos del carne asada (skirt steak) and wow, I feel like I'm in Mexico! Real authentic tacos! Just don't forget cash! read more

Tacos Picantes - My takeout! Yum! - Mexican Near Me - Spring Valley, New York

The tacos are decent but the customer service needs work the owner (i think) isn't very nice the language barrier is not the problem but the tone of voice is very hostile. Over the phone he yelled at me because when I asked what time they Closed he said 5 *me calling at 9:45pm* I was confused and asked am or pm he got very mad and yelled am before hanging up. I called again placed an order. I went in to pick up takeout I called for and he ignored me even serviced another person before even acknowledging me and I was in front of him. read more

Don't hesitate to visit this location ever! Food is top notch ... after renovations it has become more spacious and should be adaptable for new faces such as taco lovers like myself. I've been loyal here and will stake my word on how any taco craving will be fulfilled and further more redefined after eating here. Do it ! read more

My recommendation are the chicken nachos, guacamole, any type of quesadillas or the sopes!! These dishes are all my favorite. The portion size for these dishes are pretty large too. These are seriously some of the best tacos I've ever had. The waitstaff usually doesn't speak the best English, but who cares, it's all about the tacos. My only gripe is that they don't have margaritas, only beer read more

So this restaurant was so dead at lunch time .....and the waiter was not not friendly at all ..it was super awkward even to order and everything was an extra price the small guacamole is 10$ and they give u literally 10 chips and more chips is 3$ everything is an extra charge I'm surprised they aren't a little better with the prices and so difficult considering how dead it is and prices for Shit service and not that great of food read more

I'm confused by guacamole that can't be made properly in an 'authentic' dive spot. a mug of lime juice and a bucket of salt all around. I had a cut on my finger and just from dipping it began burning lol. I never had such poorly crafted guac, it was a shame to waste all those avocados. chips alone were inedible due to being stale and hard as cement. I ordered the shredded beef, bbq, and two carne asada steak tacos. they were great, they're just not close to worth their price. they should be fifty cents each. I knew they were small from the reviews but when opened the plastic container, I had to squint. so, acid burning guacamole and four half-palm sized tacos amounted to $16. well, there goes a good and filling meal elsewhere. also, if you're calling in an order.. just give up. no one really understands and they'll disconnect the line. waiting in person takes ages and if you come in hungry, you'll inhale the smurf tacos in less than five seconds once they're done. read more

Best tacos around, with a great price! Service is always quick and their tacos cannot be beat!

if i could give it no stars then i would... rude as fuck, worst place to get food period. the workers there have no type of respect. on the week days tacos are one price, then on the weekends its another.. never again will i get tacos/ food from this place. read more

The broken glass window and door were a bit of a red flag, but I went in anyway. The staff barely speaks English, so be aware of that. I had 4 tacos - steak, chorizo, BBQ and chicken. They were fine, but nothing to write home about. They were also quite small. read more

My friend said the lengua tacos were a little different but my tacos were fantastic, highly recommend eating there because the tacos are $2 that's a great price for true Mexican style tacos I say go for it try the tacos read more

Authentic mexican food and it has a lot of flavor. I ordered the bbq, beef and chicken. They were small but they stuff it and it's delicious. Only reason I am giving 3 stars is because I found small pieces of bones in the bbq taco. The bbq was also the least favorite out of the 3. Will definitely try this again and see if the other ones are just as delicious. read more

No frills place to get your tacos. I ordered 3 el pastor (pork) tacos to go and devoured them. The red sauce that's included is SUPER HOT but delicious. Unfortunately, the tacos are quite small and they only have corn tortillas, I prefer flour tortillas but not a total deal breaker. read more
