    Great margarita.
    George D.

At first glance you may steer clear of this gem due to the lights and location. But obviously the locals know best. I am in Nanuet for work and I asked the guy at the desk of the hotel where I could get the best enchiladas he sent me here. The parking is a little tight as the location is in a strip mall style location. When I walked in I was greeted and welcomed. I ordered a margarita. They don't give you some crappy sour mix lime drink with a shot --- they give you a real margarita like one you would get in Progresso. I ordered the enchiladas with beef in them. These were not ground beef enchiladas they were sliced steaks. Absolutely delicious and spicy. This place checks all the boxes of a gem.

Torta de milanesa de pollo! Delicious!!

The torta de milanesa de pollo is the best torta I've ever had. I pick this up for lunch every so often and it really just makes my day. The chicken is very juicy and the breading is wonderful, the beans are so flavorful, and the acidity and crunch from the pickled jalapenos really just tie it all together. The service is very quick and the staff is very friendly!  I love the design of the restaurant, it's very pretty and you feel like you're in Mexico! It's tucked away in a small strip mall, but it's a true hidden gem. I look forwarding to coming back again and exploring more of the menu!

Outside is sketchy looking but once inside I was pleasantly surprised! Decor was awesome I felt I was somewhere else and not in NY. My new go to spot for before a rockland boulder game. Food is delicious and reasonable priced, staff are friendly and attentive. Drinks were good and they came out with chips and dips right as we sat down at the bar. Tacos were so good I am craving them now thinking about it. Located in a strip mall with a free parking lot this is a hidden gem!

This is what authentic Mexican tacos look like.

OK... So I'm basing this review on the very simple premise of seeing how Guadalajara's tacos compare to the taquerias in D.F. But first a brief summary of the previous reviews for this restaurant... - Friendly service - CHECK - Fast service - CHECK - Understated and low key store front - CHECK and CHECK - Cheap eat - CHECK - Fresh ingredients - CHECK - Bar - CHECK - Authentic cuisine - CHECK - An attached Mexican market right next door - CHECK I've been to Mexico City over a dozen times and have visited Nuevo Leon another dozen or so times. I like to think that I know a little bit about Mexican food. That said, I'll let you in on a little secret...you won't have to climb a "huuuge" wall to have some of the best tacos North of the US/Mexico border. You can do that in Rockland County. What? What? What? I ordered two chicken and two shrimp tacos for a quick bite to eat for lunch. I know....I know already! I should have had at least one taco "al pastor" but I'm cutting back on red meat. Don't be judgy! At a cost of $13, they were well portioned, fresh and delicious. Sorry but for those of you used to enormous tacos found at Chili's or Taco Bell you're in for a rude awakening. No giant tacos overflowing with sour cream and cheddar cheese to be found on the menu....again sorry. Here the fresh pico and salsa had the perfect heat and were neatly packaged along w fresh lime. I'll definitely be back for a sit down dinner and I'm sure that I'll be updating the review. Now, if I could only find Esquites and maybe some Chapulines.

You may not think that the Guadalajara is a world-class Mexican restaurant! But after you try i you will see. It is at 180 East Central Ave
    Scott R.

I tried this place upon recommendation from Yelp reviews. I have had great Mexican food from California, Arizona, Texas, and Mexico. This is truly one of the best. Don't pass this up! The address, which I updated is not at 11 East Central Avenue, it is at 180 East Central. If you are new to the area you might think that it is not going to be a good experience, but you will be pleasantly surprised.

Bland flavorless food that all tasted the same.... Nice looking bar, and decent chips though.

We finally got meals but no place-setting, had to wait for that, my GF enchiladas were cold n the cheese not melted, she didn't wanna say a word, we all know what is rumored to happen to our food when we complain. Nobody came by as customary to ask if everything was OK Very disappointing, we expect on busy sat nights to be slower but like I said, place was mostly not crowded and the wait staff was just wandering, less than attentive or concerned, even when our first round of drinks were done, nobody asking if we wanted another, don't restaurants make their money on drinks? We chose to sit outside in the cute patio area that had a cute little swing and was just so colorful. I loved all of the decor in the restaurant & the food was just as good as the decor was, thats the best part. I loved when the setting matches the food quality. The prices were very decent, and the food is made fresh. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, chips and guacamole, and loaded nacho fries for my kid. It was all so delicious. It's a great place to grab a quick bite while shopping at the plaza, or before/after catching a movie at Regal cinema which is in the same complex. Sombrero Tacoria applies the fast-casual ethos of chain takeout places with a proper dine-in component that's aesthetically pleasing. The interior is clean, cheerfully decorated, and pristine. In warmer weather, you can also eat on the chic and comfortable outside patio. The food is fresh and tastes good. The birria tacos, their signature item, is pretty awesome. And the child and I always enjoy their quesadilla. While I favor Chipotle's bowls more, this is a much nicer dining experience. The horchata and homemade lemonade are both great. Service is quick, and if you order in, they'll bring the food to your table. For takeout, there are also self order kiosks if you'd rather not order at the counter. Over the summer there was a live DJ on Friday evenings, bringing a festive atmosphere to the restaurant.
