Our son asked to visit Red Crab before shipping out for the next 3 months. Service was excellent and we even enjoyed the robotic server that brought our food to the table and sang happy birthday to other guests - an interesting and fun surprise. I had steak with rice, broccoli and a side of corn on the cob with iced tea. The steak was super tender, loved it. Everyone else had the Low Country seafood boil. My husband & son split a party tray filled to the brim with mussel crayfish, crablegs, shrim, potatoes, corn & and anduoille sausage. Red Crab in the Palisades Mall is always my go-to. I come here all the time and it never disappoints. One of my favorite things is the daily specials -- you can actually get them anytime, not just on a specific day, which makes it even better. King crab was around $90 for 3 skinny legs, like 15% bigger than snow crab legs. Not worth it. Snow crab legs were good but the clusters were missing legs/medium size. Gluten free always a cinch with the menu. Loved how busy they were but we got in in time to be quickly seated. Guessing the DJ part of the draw. It was fun. If you want to add more you then you request. To be charged for the main ingredient and then per other items in the boil. I call that High robbery. Went to the Red Crab in the Palisades Center on a busy Saturday evening during the holiday season and had a good dinner. We had 1lb of King Crab Legs along with the Thursday special (1/2 lb Shrimp, 1lb Snow Crab) and enjoyed both along with a side of Onion Rings and Garlic Noodles. Great flavor and it was a fun (but messy!) experience getting through the crab legs. Our server Jasmin was friendly and helped guide us through the menu. She was assisted by a robot that brought the food. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is very loud in the restaurant with a live dj. Not sure if this is necessary. Extremely Disorganized and Unacceptable Service - Avoid on Busy Nights! I had a confirmed reservation for 8:15 PM on Valentine's Day at Red Crab Juicy Seafood & Bar - West Nyack (also referred to as Red Crab Palisades), but the experience was a complete disaster. When I arrived, there was a huge line outside--which was already a red flag. Still, I assumed having a reservation meant I wouldn't have to wait. Wrong. I went to the hostess stand, gave my name, and was shocked when she told me I had to stand in line with everyone else--even though I had a confirmed reservation. What's the point of making a reservation if you still have to wait in a line of 25+ people just to get inside? This is completely unacceptable, especially on a special night like Valentine's Day. If the restaurant was overbooked or running behind, they should have communicated that beforehand. Instead, they left customers standing outside in the cold, making reservations worthless. The entire experience was poorly managed, chaotic, and frustrating. If you're looking for a restaurant that respects its customers' time, this is NOT it. We shared the weekend special and while it's not a ton of food, it was very tasty. We had the cajun sauce, medium spicy and it was perfect. The salmon appetizer was a good start and our service was friendly and on point. The robots bringing out the food are a fun novelty and I'm sure many kids would find it amusing. Our waitress had great energy and was nice but she disappeared at the end. We waited a long time for our food. We ordered the fried oyster basket as an appetizer but they brought a shrimp basket instead. When we told them about the mistake, they took the shrimp basket back and we then had to wait another 15 min. It winded up coming with our entrees. That was fine but then it took us even longer just to get any server's attention after finishing our entree that we decided not to order additional drinks & desserts. The music, as other people have noted, was also very unnecessarily loud, I felt like I was dining in a night club. Overall: I truly enjoyed the food and the flavors. My wife went for the weekend special of lobster tail, shrimp and snow crab. Both came out hot with corn and potatoes. Everything was served in a bag complete with gloves and shell cracker. Sure it was a bit messy, but it was oh so good! Our waitress, Adreana was always checking on us and made sure we had water and lots of gloves. lol I saw a number of complaints about loud music. We went there on a Sunday evening before a movie and thought the level of music was fine. Comparable to a normal restaurants background music. This restaurant was "Official" ! First of all this place is inside the Palisades Shopping Mall in West Nyack, New York . Located on the top floor next to the AMC movie theater so parking is not an issue. As soon as you walk in it has great music playing and TVs everywhere. I requested them to put on the Yankee game and they obliged. They took our order right away it came out hot on a robot and the waitress followed behind. My drinks were on point and the dessert was slamming. I have no complaints I will definitely go back and would recommend it. when your inside the restaurant it doesn't feel like you're in the mall and the bathrooms were clean. read more
