Mussels & scallops on pesto risotto, on main menu
E C.

I genuinely feel my money is well spent and my business is appreciated when I dine here solo, or with friends & family. The bar is a cozy vibe, and the portions are wonderful for a shared table or have some now and save some for later. The beet salad, butternut squash ravioli(home made), pesto, wine selection, seafood & meats are fresh and hand selected by the present proprietor & chef. 5 STARS!

The best thing about the Hudson Valley restaurant week is the luxury of trying different restaurants and experimenting with foods that you may not normally eat. So, this past week we wanted to find a place that seemed appropriate for date night and delivered on the food. After checking out other reviews on yelp this place seemed to hit the nail on the head. I was able to make a reservation day of, but only because someone else had canceled so they were able to squeeze us in for 8 PM. I wasn't sure if the hubs was going to take advantage of restaurant week as well but I was interested in the menu. Either way regular menu has PLENTY to offer. Super cute place from the outside... appeared very intimate and the inside lived up. Crisp white table cloths, not too crazy decor. Comfortable and appropriate dinner lighting. We scored a table for two at the front close to the bar and entrance. I was a little hesitant because it was a freezing cold night and I wasn't looking forward to the door opening and closing blowing cold air on us. Thankfully there was really no traffic in or out and when the door did open we didn't feel anything. We started with some crispy rolls while planning out our dinner. Hubby ended up doing the restaurant week and started with muscles followed by the seafood pasta and strawberries and cream for dessert. I ordered Gorgonzola and crispy pancetta ravioli followed by Bronzino and mascarpone cheesecake for dessert. We added on a fried calamari appetizer. Well let's put it this way the fried calamari appetizer was awful. Would never ever order it here again. However everything else was amazing. I wanted to drink the creamy soupy tomato veg broth from the mussels directly out of the bowl, but way too embarrassing to do in public. My three giant raviolis delicious!! The seafood pasta was nice and spicy and everything was cooked well. Not overdone seafood which can happen very easily. Bronzino with the tang of the capers, lentils folded into rice was light and deep all at the same time. I really couldn't finish any dessert after our mains so was planning on them taking home. Somehow after they arrived we managed to squeeze it all in. They were too pretty to not be eaten. I definitely would recommend the cheesecake. The strawberries and cream were a little small but still good. Our server was on top of everything and he seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. Even if he didn't, he definitely faked it but his demeanor helped add to our great evening. I will definitely come here again for a date night or even a night out with friends and explore the menu. Especially their homemade pastas.

I'm not sure why they have trouble making a good pizza but they just do. So if you're looking for good Italian Food, this is the place. If you're looking for good pizza, try elsewhere.

Q -How do you say "friends" in Italian? A- Amici We were driving back from Cape May and could no longer ignore the hunger pangs, so we stopped on Route 59 in Nyack to feed our faces at Amici. Amici has a split personality -the front of the store is a pizzeria with a few booths and a showcase of pizza by the slice. The back of the store is a much fancier nicely decorated white tablecloth restaurant. We split three pizza slices -a cheese, a chicken with broccoli, and a Margherita ( tomatoes, basil, garlic and mozzarella cheese). The slices were quite large and a slice and a half was plenty for lunch. The crust was a little thicker and chewier than what I'm used to. Definitely not "thin style" pizza. Be aware that the chicken isn't grilled, it was a cut up breaded chicken parmigiana cutlet. We also split a nice House salad with 2 kinds of lettuce, sliced tomatoes and cucumber, and green and black olives. It was fresh and big enough to be easily split into 2 portions. Our 3 slices, salad, and a bottle of Snapple ran $25.56. The entrees are priced very reasonably - just abouit everyuthing is under $20 with pasta and a salad

Update! Yup, Pie Man…read moreis still solid. Just came back with some coworkers to grab a pie, and I seriously underestimated a 10". Thought it would be enough, but that's definitely a personal size. My bad, lol. No worries though, we just grabbed another pie with zero regrets. When we got to the restaurant, they whipped up a fresh 16" (legit only $3 more) in just a few minutes. Love to see it. The Salty G.O.A.T. truly is the GOAT. Already planning my next visit to try the Sausage and Spicy Pickled Peppers pie since I've heard it's a fan favorite too. Their beer selection is nice, and the staff is super friendly with good energy all around. I've only ever done takeout (with a drink at the bar), but their outdoor seating looks nice, and there's plenty of room inside too. The whole place feels really welcoming. By the way, don't get it twisted. This isn't just a pizza spot. They also host events with live artists, making it more than just great food. Backed by their delicious menu and cold beers on tap, Pie Man provides the full experience. Definitely worth the visit! Looking forward to many more visits :)

This restaurant has so much potential... great location by the Hudson, the menu sounds delicious,…read moreand a party room available if needed. Unfortunately, we were left feeling pretty underwhelmed. First off, the food took quite long to come out. Nobody came to the guests of honor to let them know what was going on. It wasn't until the guests of honor said something to the staff that everything "sped up". It was all very reactive instead of proactive. Secondly, the food was left a bit to be desired. The chicken parmigiana was unfortunately pretty dry for something that had sauce, while the salmon (although moist) lacked a bit of flavor and could have used a sauce. Make it make sense please?! Some of the items seemed like they were not made from the scratch, i.e. the pizza and the crispy mashed potatoes. The best dish of the night was the penne vodka. I honestly wish they brought more of that out, but for some reason the portions for that dish were quite small. It seemed like they just ran out of that dish, and just put any small amount on the plates. Towards the end of the night, it just seemed like the staff stopped caring about the guests, and were just phoning it in. They barely came to check on us. Even any chain restaurant would do something as easy as that. At some point, even the drink orders came out wrong. Sprite instead of water for all of the guests, coffee for people who didn't order coffee, alcoholic drinks that were given to the wrong guests. And literally nobody was there to help the guests of honor cut and serve the cake. The guests of honor had to use a butter knife to cut the cake because nobody came to provide a proper knife or even offer to take the cake and cut it. With the slow service and the amount of time the food took to come out, I think it would have been more understandable if the food was amazing and/or presented well, but it was honestly as pretty basic as you can get. All in all, I feel pretty bad for the guests of honor that they had to experience such a thing: Basic food, inattentive service, and lackluster management.

We hosted our daughter's first birthday here, and unfortunately it was one of the worst dining…read moreexperiences we've ever had. There were extreme wait times between every course, to the point where half of our guests left before cake because we were sitting around with no waitress in sight. Our server barely came to the table at all -- no check-ins, no refills, no asking if we needed anything. She didn't even bring Parmesan cheese for the pasta course, which we asked for multiple times. My husband ended up going into the kitchen several times just to find someone to help us. The food was just as bad. Many dishes were undercooked, poorly seasoned, or simply inedible. My husband and I couldn't eat our meals at all. The children's chicken fingers were so bad even my nine-year-old refused to eat them, and several family members left their plates untouched because the food tasted that terrible. One of our dishes even had a hair in it, which is completely unacceptable. By the time we were ready for cake, we waited so long for staff to return that my husband went and got the plates and knife himself just so we could cut the cake and leave. The entire experience was stressful, embarrassing, and nothing like what we expected for such an important milestone. We spoke with the manager, and although she claimed she wanted to make it right, very little was actually done to fix or acknowledge how bad the situation was. I rarely write negative reviews, but what happened at this restaurant was beyond disappointing. I would not recommend hosting any type of event here based on our experience.
