We went on a Sunday afternoon for lunch recently to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. It was my first time there. I was very impressed. The restaurant is beautiful and has great views. The service was outstanding. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Most of us had different whole fish. I had a sea bass which they served whole and deboned. It was fresh and delicious. My daughter had the skirt steak which was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. They did a really nice celebration when the birthday desert was served. First off I am fine spending a few bucks for amazing food. Feel free to look at my check ins and reviews. There is a pretty good chance I am putting several Japanese kids through college with the amount of high end sushi my wife makes me buy for her. With that being said the experience actually has to be worth the cost and Trata is not even close. Let's start with the good. The view is magnificent and if this is why you came, stop reading now. You will get precisely what you came for. However, if you came for a good meal, sorry, this place is way overpriced and just not good. The lone standout from the meal was the octopus. Flavorful and cooked just right. From there it was all down hill. My wife and I had the highly recommended fresh red snapper at $90+ dollars. It was totally dry and flavorless. Sides were nothing special. I would argue you could get better whole red snapper at Noches De Columbia or one of the many Thai places in rockland for a third or less of the cost. Then the real disaster of the night was the rack of lamb which my kids ordered. 8 pieces of lamb for $85. For those counting that's $10 bucks a piece, ordered medium rare and it was served so raw a good veterinarian could bring it back to life. Naturally, we told our server who took it to the back and returned about 3 minutes later totally well done. I have worked in many restaurants in my day and I know there is only one way to go from raw to well done in 3 minutes and that is with the microwave. Sorry but at 10 bucks a rib have some respect for your customers and put the meat on the grill. I know it's busy, I know you're swamped too bad. If you want to eat in Piermont there are plenty of other much better and way cheaper options, and if you need a view of the bridge just walk down the Pier. We won't be back. read more

RUDE, NOT ADA ACCESSIBE OR ACCOMMODATING, NOT ABLE TO MANAGE THE KITCHEN AND DINING ACTIVITY. -I will start with the one positive, the food was tasty. -We were a party of 4 dining at 5:30 PM on saturday. The restaurant could not keep up with dining service inspite of our early reservation time.An entree was served 15 minutes after all other entrees were brought out.One of 3 cappuccino's ordered was forgotten and after we had to follow up with the Maitre D and the waiter it finally arrived 20 minutes late. -Our total time eating at the restaurant from start to finish was 2 hours. -We paid our bill which was NOT inexpensive and within 5 minutes of paying the Bus boy / table attendant told us we had to leave as others were waiting for the table. -Myself and all 3 other diners have eaten at much FINER restaurants than this around the world and we have never been told we had to leave when we just finished paying. -We found this to be extremely rude and spoke with Matre D about it who without making eye contact said "you have been at the table for 2 hours it is time for you to leave". We informed him that had we not had to wait 20 minutes for the cappuccino and 15 minutes for the entrees to be served we would have finished sooner and also that 2 hours is not a "long time" to be eating. His reply was "Well this is how I run it". -Upon trying to leave the dining area, the tables and chairs were packed so tight that our friend using the walker could not make it through the dining area. Only the waiter and other patrons helped us navigate through by moving chairs and tables out of the way to make room for him to pass. -I informed the Maitre D that it was unacceptable including their lack of accommodation for those with disabilities. He ignored me did not even make eye contact. -On the way out in the lobby we informed the he host greeting patrons along with the 5 hostess' seating people of what occurred His response was that we should not have been told to leave and he would talk to the maitre d but he did not apologize. -When I asked him why his restaurant was not ADA accessible and why nobody EXCEPT the waiter and other patrons did not help us navigate the crowded dining area, he said " We have a ramp why didn't you use it" I replied "where is the ramp? Nobody Told us there was a ramp to enter and exit the restaurant" He replied "well I am working up here I don't know why you weren't informed". -This is the same person who SEES ALL GUESTS arrive and checks them in for their reservation. This person saw our friend and allowed them to walk past them and up two steps with a walker without informing them of an ADA accessible ramp and they did the same on the way out, they allowed them to walk down the steps in front of them with the walker not informing them of any ramp. -I do not even believe a ramp even exists I just know the rudeness, the lack of consideration and lack of decency shown by the employees at this restaurant towards us was UNACCEPTABLE. -There are too many good restaurants in the NY Metro area that are significantly better than this place that felt like it was being run by punks. I will not return nor recommend. -To anyone who is going to try this restaurant I recommend you go during the week or lunch to at least avoid the fact that they cannot keep up with their kitchen and manage demand. I have no solution for their rudeness. -To the Owners of this restaurant please carefully evaluate how you are being represented and how your restaurant is being run. We had a reservation for a party of 12 at 7:30 PM to celebrate a birthday, but ended up stuck at our table for four hours due to painfully slow service. The venue was completely packed, likely from overbooking far beyond what its staff could handle. From the moment we sat down, every step of the meal was a struggle: we rarely saw our server, had to repeatedly ask food runners to track them down, and waited 45 minutes for basic water and drink orders even after following up. I worked in the restaurant industry for years so I know firsthand how demanding a rush can be but the hospitality and customer service could have been better. If there was any silver lining to all the waiting, it was having time to appreciate the stunning waterfront views, alongside a lively atmosphere with a live musician and DJ after 9:30 PM. Unfortunately, the food didn't make up for the operational issues. The food was largely average and overpriced. Spending $1,000 for such a mediocre experience was disappointing. I am beyond impressed with Trata on the River's stunning decor and atmosphere, service, and quality food. Once you enter the spacious restaurant, you immediately feel like you're in Mykonos. No matter where you are seated, you have a great view of the water. There are several open bars for you to enjoy a drink before being seated for dinner. The restaurant offers valet. I arrived for a 5:30 reservation, and the service was top notch. Our food came out quickly and we were checked on throughout dinner with great attention and care. All of our appetizers were refreshing and delicious without feeling stuffed before dinner. The appetizers I ordered included the Saganaki bites with honey and watermelon, zucchini and eggplant chips with tzatziki, and fried calamari & fried shrimp. My family and I ordered fish for all of our entrees. Very fresh and the presentation was pleasing to the eye. The salmon was paired with a lentil salad. The Chilean sea bass was paired with wild rice, asparagus, and sausage. The Halibut was paired with broccolini. We ordered mocktails - the sunset in Santorini was a favorite! Lastly, we ended with dessert. We loved every dessert ordered. The key lime special was out of this world! Key lime typically isn't my go to dessert. This was so light and paired with pineapple. Came in for a fathers Day dinner, server was prompt with the drinks. But waited almost 2 hours for our food, we came in 5:30, food did not come till 7:18p. (It's understandable because it was very busy, but server could have went to us and let us know that food will take longer) Got some drinks, it was okay not that great. The drinks was mostly ice. Ambiance was okay, can't hear us talking as the music was so loud. Food was fine not that great, sea bass tasted like old. And to know we have tasted a lot of different fish (sea bass in particular) and never complained ever, this was the first time. We complained then and manager came over and said their fish are delivered daily and fresh. He offered if we want something and we said it's all fine. Their steak was good though hubby enjoyed it! Overall it was a very disappointing visit. The food was not enjoyable and tasted poorly prepared. The service was extremely slow, and the wait made the experience even worse. I hope they improve their food quality and customer service. Will give 2 stars, but will not come back. Kind of disappointed but should have listened to the reviews. It is a winding road to get to the restaurant, and once inside, you're transported to an elegant setting. The building itself is white with with a blue door and accents and the walkway from the entrance to the dining area is decorated with sculptures in recessed cubbies in the wall. The main dining room is spacious and inviting with a lush ceiling and touches of warm, golden furnishings. It was bustling on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Diners were seated indoors and outdoors. We didn't get a chance to see the outdoor space but on a hot and sunny day, my family was fine and comfortable in the shade indoors. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. Once I was seated and waiting for the rest of my party, he advised the time for last orders to be placed. My party of 6 ordered almost every appetizer and several of the limited number of mains offered on the lunch menu. The appetizers came out as they were ready. The beet salad and lobster salad came out first and were refreshing. The saganaki and watermelon appetizer was an interesting pairing and surprisingly delightful. We ordered two of the grilled octopus as it's usually a favorite within my group when dining at a Greek or Mediterranean establishment. Unfortunately, the octopus came chopped in small pieces and was uninteresting. IMHO this dish is not worth the price or the calories. Of the set of 4 spreads/dips, all were tasty and went nicely with the accompanying pita bread. We ended up doubling on this. The crispy shrimp and calamari, eggplant and zucchini chips, and the Greek meatballs were satisfying and a hit with everyone. Despite the disappointment with the grilled octopus, overall the appetizers were much more impressive than the entrees. For our mains, we got 2 of the filet mignon with eggs, the sirloin burger, the Lountza sandwich, the chicken souvlaki, the crispy shrimp wrap, and the shrimp roll. If we had to rank these dishes, the chicken would top the list, followed by the sirloin burger, and the rest would be last. Consistency in preparation and flavor profiles of the dishes is lacking. For example, we requested the filets cooked medium, however one filet was medium in some parts, medium rare in others. Personally, I enjoy medium rare and ate those pieces. As for the other filet, it was medium rare and borderline rare and inedible for my party. We requested additional heat for the dish, which the kitchen accommodated, but the meat came back basically well done SMH. While the chicken and burger were juicy and appetizing, the other dishes, albeit topped with many ingredients, were bland. Perhaps the kitchen was overwhelmed, which resulted in receiving our entrees about two hours after placing the order and the poor, or at least decline in quality of, execution of our dishes. Considering the restaurant has been open almost two years, it is normal to expect experience in managing the weekend crowds. While we were advised about the hard stop on placing orders, it was a missed opportunity for our waiter to check if we wanted to add desserts to our meal. No warning or follow-up was made as the cutoff time was approaching. Normally, I would praise the experience and service, but the final straw was in the handling of leftovers and with the valet. We had several unfinished or untouched dishes we wanted packed to go. Upon checking the containers at home, not everything was packed. When waiting outside for our cars, one of our cars was already pulled up with the door open and ready to be driven away. Problem was, the car belonged to my sister, who was in the restroom at the time and had her ticket. Anyone could've driven her car away. Thankfully the valet cooperated and drove the car to the side and my sister retrieved it without incident. Overall, the experience was lengthy and off-putting. If you need a beautiful space with a good selection of small bites and have hours to spare, e.g. a special event, then this place is for you. If you are interested in a full meal, and have only 2-3 hours for a meal, this is not the place for you. read more

From the moment we sat down, the disappointment began -- and it only got worse. * No server for over 30 minutes. We were seated with zero acknowledgment from any server or manager. No drinks, no water, nothing. We sat there for over an hour and a half without a single person approaching our table. * When the server finally appeared... Paulo N. came over after more than an hour, took our drink and food order, told us we had to place everything at once, dropped off water -- and then vanished again. No updates, no check‑ins, no service. * We asked for a manager for the first time-- no one came. Not once Did the server or anyone at the restaurant check in Not even after waiting another long stretch of time. * Over 2 hours and 20 minutes later... still NOTHING. I had to physically stand up, ASK for a manager AGAIN, and wait until someone finally came out. I explained clearly that we had been sitting for over 2 hours with no drinks, no appetizers, no food. * The manager promised things would come out soon -- they didn't. * The server admitted he NEVER put in our order. No apology. No accountability. he said he was overwhelmed." He didn't even attempt to fix it. * After more than 2.5 hours of waiting the food finally arrived -- cold. (Disappointed) Every dish was lukewarm at best. One person NEVER receive their meal at all because the server AGAIN "forgot to put it in." We did not eat the food. It was cold, poorly handled, and completely unacceptable after hours of waiting. * The manager's behavior was the worst part. He was rude, dismissive, and took zero responsibility. He acted annoyed that we asked for help. When I approached him, he literally closed the office door in my face and refused to come back out. The server even told us the manager was "not coming out again." I have never experienced anything so egregious, unprofessional, and disappointing in the hospitality industry. Wonderful birthday dinner for a dear friend! Impressive space, overlooking the Tappan Zee bridge! They just set up the outdoor areas for the Spring and Summer months so we sat in the section with gas heaters all around to maintain comfort in March's unpredictable weather. The ladies started with martinis, my buddy and I had their concoction of an Old Fashioned called "Two Faces of January". Really well made drink ! For starters we enjoyed the zucchini chips with tzatziki - a must! We also enjoyed a generous portion of grilled octopus. For dinner - their pasta dish has some nice spice to it and the shrimp are enormous! The special tonight - pan seared halibut with lobster risotto - was excellent! Dessert consisted of their Greek yogurt with sour cherries, honey and pistachios, and baklava. Everything was great! First two times I was here over the past year (2025) the food was delicious, fresh, and portions were abundant. However, a recent visit for lunch for my friend's birthday and the menu has changed.... but not for the best. I live for a good Horiatiki salad (cucumber & tomatoes w feta cheese) and I attached a photo of what is now being served in its place; The entire dish included 4 slices of tomato (it was skinned) and 4 cucumber slices. There is no ambiance, violinist, conga line, water view, or high quality napkins in the ladies room that can fill the void of the Horiatiki salad. There is no legitimate salad even offered on the menu anymore. The table across from us had 3 men who also were unhappy with their steak. Not sure what changes are transpiring but they aren't well-informed. When you remove staple dishes from Mediterranean cuisine, and are then not receptive to customer feedback -- you're dealing with a recipe for disaster. read more

My husband and I recently dined at Trata on the Hudson. The restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and the views are stunning. The service was friendly and attentive, but unfortunately the food was a major disappointment, especially considering the prices. We started with the ceviche special. While it tasted good, the portion was extremely small and contained very little seafood for $35. I ordered the Yellowfin Tuna for $55 (pictured). I requested it medium-rare, but it came out closer to medium and was very dry. The cilantro garnish was wilted, and the presentation was disappointing for a dish at that price point. It certainly didn't look like a $55 entrée. My husband ordered the flank steak with fries. The steak was just okay, not particularly memorable, and the presentation was lacking. The fries were overcooked. The server asked if we wanted a spicy sauce for the fries, but never mentioned there would be an additional $5 charge. That should have been disclosed before bringing it to the table. Another surprise was the credit card processing fee if you don't pay with cash. This was actually our fourth visit, and unfortunately it will be our last. Trata has an incredible location and is a wonderful place to enjoy drinks and maybe an appetizer while taking in the beautiful views. However, the food quality has consistently failed to match the prices, and after giving it multiple chances, we don't feel it's worth returning. read more

Ambiance is top notch. Overlooking bridge and decor is like you are in Greece. Food is good - just a bit pricey and service was better than it was last time (for my birthday too). We had a larger table this time round but ordered the same apps as last time calamari (which included chickpeas), zucchini chips and the platter with hummus or tzatziki was good. They just don't bring enough pita bread for dipping, and based on our size of table. Overall good, busy and it was a Sunday so it was loud (to the point where we couldn't talk to each other over the music). We went to Trata to celebrate my sons graduation from the FDNY Academy with lunch. We were a a party of 7. First I must say what a beautiful place from the entrance to the dining room and the outside patio. And the views of the river and bridge are spectacular. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. They offer a Prix lunch option which most of us ordered from you get a choice of an appetizer, an entree and a dessert. Sorry we were so hungry that we didn't take photos of the food but everything was delicious. We had the trio of dips with pita bread, branzino, chicken souvlaki, skirt steak and a sirloin burger. Also two had cocktails that were deliciously prepared and one mocktail that was also wonderful. We will definitely be back soon. Hopefully on a day that's not so horribly hot and humid! read more

Meh. Just meh. This place is a complete facade. It's stunning inside--like actually beautiful. Great decor and ambiance. But beyond that it's just blah. Service is low quality. We saw our actual waiter twice. Once to take our order and once to give us a dessert menu. There are about 700 food and water runners and we had like 7 of them come bring our food and refill our waters. Unfortunately Because of that we kept getting different water. Sparkling, then topped off with still, then poured more sparkling, etc. it was a mess of diluted sparkling water and we got charged for like 3 bottles of sparkling we never actually ordered. It took about 45min to get our appetizers and then over an hour to get our meals. It was a 2.5hr dinner and it was not crowded. The food is nothing special. They boast being spectacular in regard to fresh seafood, but when I asked for more details about the origin of the oysters the waiter didn't know. Hamachi app was the best dish we had all night. Presentation of the food was average overall. It tasted fine, nothing worth more than 3 starts. Not a single dish was spectacular or worth coming back for or worth what we paid for. It wasn't bad, just wasn't great and wasn't worth the $300 bill. The bathrooms were disgusting! Messy, wet, sloppy, no toilet paper, unattended. For a place that had 638393 servers, they could assign at least ONE of them to check on the bathrooms hourly. They are oddly specific and strict on their dress code. Denied a man wearing a hat and denied a woman with a Happy Birthday Balloon. BUT there were people in bikinis and beach coverups at the outside bar...... whatever. read more

My wife and I were ushered to the bar area as we were some of the first to arrive from our party. We ordered the Sangria which was really good. Well done bar staff!!! Once the entire party arrived we were seated at a table on the outskirts of the restaurant overlooking the river and bridge. Stunning views, tastefully decorated restaurant and dutiful wait staff. Multiple appetizers for our party arrived at the table and were enjoyed by all. Crab cakes, calamari, zucchini, hummus and pita, Greek salad and oysters. For entrees, Salmon, Sea bass, Filet mignon, and others. Everyone seemed to enjoy their dishes. There was an issue with the Sea Bass which the restaurant staff addressed immediately. The worst customer service. The wait staff and manager, Elkin, do not know how to treat their customers. I have been here multiple times with both large and small parties, but after my recent experience, I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant. On multiple occasions, my parties have been seated at some of the worst tables in the restaurant, even when tables with much better views were available. I have also tried to plan a milestone birthday celebration here and found the staff to be unhelpful when I asked about accommodating the event. Most recently, I was right in the middle of enjoying a cocktail at the bar when I was abruptly asked to leave because of their afternoon closing window. No warning was given when I ordered the drink. Being treated this way as a paying customer was completely unacceptable. I go to other restaurants in the area, including Sear and Dimora, where the staff is welcoming, accommodating, and genuinely helpful when planning special occasions. That is the kind of hospitality I expect, and unfortunately, it is not what I have experienced here. read more

Here are my thoughts: The staff, overall, aren't very helpful--service tends to be slow, and the attitude can come off as unfriendly. The food is, at best, mediocre and definitely overpriced. $40 for a skirt steak à la carte $12 for a side of corn $55 for an overcooked piece of tuna At those prices, you expect a lot more than what's being delivered. My recommendation: stop in for a drink and maybe a small bite, enjoy the views, and then go somewhere else for dinner. Or better yet, come here after dinner elsewhere and just treat it as a drinks spot before heading home. That said, it's not bad enough to swear off completely--just know what you're getting into. And, funny enough, if you're thinking about trying their other location, Elia, you can expect the same food and the same level of service there too. Trata on the River is one of those spots that grabs you the moment you walk in. The ambiance is romantic and cozy without feeling cramped . Spacious dining , warm fireplaces throughout, and those gorgeous seaside and bridge views that make the whole place feel like a getaway. Add in truly stellar, white-glove service and you're already off to a great start. We went with the prix fixe menu. It opened with the Trata spreads with pita, this included tzatziki, roasted eggplant, and a fava purée. The pita was fresh, warm, and full of flavor, easily one of the standout bites of the night. Next came the lamb and beef keftedes, Greek meatballs that were cooked well and really tasty. They were served with thick-cut baguette, but honestly the pita paired much better. The petite skirt steak was the only real miss for me, it needed more seasoning, and the chimichurri leaned sweet instead of herby. The roasted potatoes and spinach on the side were solid though. The organic chicken souvlaki was slightly overcooked, but the chopped salad and fries that came with it were excellent. Their Sunset in Santorini mocktail was a bit too sweet for my taste. Trata has a lot more on the menu, including a full raw bar, so next time I'll probably explore outside the prix fixe. Even with a few misses, the service, atmosphere, and many of the dishes absolutely make it a place I'll be returning to. read more

Spectacular views can't make up for rude service. Staff - hosts included - could use a refresher course in hospitality training. The waiter we had was impatient and down right rude. We had never been there and he knew from asking on greeting us. After placing our meal order he told us we needed to modify it because a main entree was required for the table we had reserved by the water. (BTW, that specification wasn't on the online reservation request, but whatever). He proceeded to edit out the items he thought we didn't want to eat, and instead of backing off to let us make new selections and returning, he stayed at the table and told us to "just order" the recommended fish of the evening. The junior waiter was way more attentive and kind to us than this jerk. Food was ok, little under seasoned. Won't be returning. ADA note: This place doesn't seem very wheelchair accessible - tight corners trying to get around the dining room tables, there is a step up at the main door and then again to get up to go towards the bar/main dining area. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Trata Restaurant in Piermont. I visited the restaurant with friends a couple of weeks ago, and unfortunately, my car was damaged while it was in the care of the valet Liberty Parking Services. What made the situation even worse was that no one from the valet or restaurant informed me that my car had been damaged. I only discovered the damage the following day. I immediately contacted the restaurant and had my car inspected by a body shop so I could provide an estimate for the necessary repairs. After multiple calls and emails trying to resolve the situation, I was offered only $600 as a "courtesy," by Liberty Parking Services which does not come close to covering the documented damage. I found the offer extremely disappointing, especially considering that the damage occurred while my vehicle was in the care of the valet service. What is even more frustrating is that after I continued trying to reach out and resolve this reasonably, my calls and emails have gone unanswered. Accidents can happen, but what matters is how a business takes responsibility and handles the situation afterward. In this case, I did not feel that the restaurant or the valet service took appropriate responsibility for what happened or made a genuine effort to resolve the damage. Unfortunately, this experience has completely changed my impression of Trata. I would strongly encourage anyone using the valet service to be very careful and to document their vehicle before handing over their keys. read more

We had a 5:30 reservation, all we could get on a beautiful summer night. Greeted by fairly rude group of hostesses all dressed in the same beige cocktail dresses, which I found odd. We were seated outside by the water, a tiny table where we were seated side by side on a bench with cushions. It was not particularly comfortable. When I asked if we could move to the table across from us set for four as there were chairs and I have a back issue, we were told it was only for four people. No problem. Ten minutes later a couple was seated there, two people, strike one. Our waiter was rushed and not very pleasant. We ordered appetizers and entrees and enjoyed our drink with an incredible view of the river and the bridge. 25 minutes later, our food came out and my order was completely wrong. My waiter barely apologized and took it back and told me I would have to wait again (20 minutes) for the correct entree. So, my husband ate his meal so it did not get cold and I waited. I finally asked to speak with a manager; he came over and literally said "what do you want me to do for you" no sorry, could care less. Bottom line, he did nothing but get a good laugh about it with our waiter, strike two. While the food is good, the rest of the experience was horrendous. Rushed servers, wait staff and managers that really could care less about customer satisfaction, all while charging high-end prices. Strike three. The only employees that were pleasant were the valet parking staff. Stay away, especially on a weekend or holiday. read more

Very mediocre food, scallops had a very fishy smell to the point of not been able to eat them. Steak is hard and chewy . The best thing we ate was probably the pasta. Calamari is not bad. Good service, great ambiance, really nice location and plenty of room for any size party. read more

The rudest wait staff ever. They are clearly instructed to dismiss and ridicule the patrons which is mind blowing. From the bartender to the hostesses to the bus boys - a bad attitude all around. Dismissive, rude and complete lack of not only basic respect but basic communication. Wrong drinks, rushed service, aggressive and mean staff. Avoid at all costs. read more

My wife and I went to Trava's last night with a good friend for her 65 birthday. We heard good things about it and it exceeded our expectations. This is in Piermont and it's usually hard to park here, bot no worries, they have valet parking. As you enter the foyer, you're greeted by a host, who's really on top of the whole seen, and he has 3 adorable helpers. I hadn't realized at that point how big this place was and to keep the tables turning isn't an easy task. When we made the reservation, we asked for a table by the water, and although they said they couldn't promise it. We got it. We were immediately greeted by our server, who asked about our water preference and brought us a drink/ wine menu. We ordered Grey goose with soda drinks and relaxed with the view and great company. We ordered 3 apps to share and 3 entrees. For apps we had Greek meatballs (forgot what there called) watermelon salad w feta creamed cheese, and the avacodo crabmeat salad. All good, no exceptionally large a portion, but never gave us or told us the pita was extra. I was disappointed with that. We ordered 2 lavraki and 1 snapper with Horta and lemon potato wedges. All very good. This was our first time here, so I wish our server told us the snapper was for 2, so we ended up with 4 serve rings of fish. By now we had our second round with dinner. He did mention the weight, but it was in grams, not in pounds For desert we had a chocolate cake with ice cream, and they brought out one of those sparklers and helped us sing HB. By the way we told them in advance and they had a happy bday note on the table. Clearly this place is so organized. They had a guy walking around with a iPad type thing gauging the speed of each table. My experience at Trata on the river was not what I expected at all. It is a beautiful restaurant but you cant eat beautiful. The drinks were good and so were the appetizers. I ordered a sea bass as an entree and my boyfriend ordered a seafood pasta. My sea bass arrived raw and my boyfriend's pasta was not edible, it tasted completely disgusting. I sent my sea bass back and when i got it back, it was cooked but completely unseasoned. I did not eat it. It was also my birthday dinner and they did not sing me happy birthday. The server dropped off a piece of cake and walked away while the table next to us had the whole staff singing happy birthday right before me. My birthday dinner ended up being terrible. I went on the evening of July 20th (Monday) so it wasnt even a busy weekend night. They at least didnt charge us for the entrees. I will not be returning. Do better. read more

Went there last Sunday for dinner. Beautiful restaurant in a beautiful location. I walked in wearing a cap and was seated at an outdoor table. Halfway through the meal a waiter came over asking me to remove my cap because it was against restaurant dress policy. I told him no, because I walked in wearing it and we were seated outside, plus we were 6 feet from the river and it was breezy and cool. Five minutes later the General Manager came over and asked again. I told him the same thing I had told the waiter. He became aggressive and said if I did not remove my cap, he would hand me the bill and have me leave immediately. He finally stopped badgering me, when I threatened to pay half the bill. A half hour later he walked by and I told him he ruined my dates and my dining experience. His answer "I don't care". Also when before all this I ordered the Tsipoura whole fish, the menu clearly stated the chef would debone the fish but could not guarantee every single bone. Well the fish was served to me with every single bone attached including the spine. In addition I ordered clams on the half shell. Any good clam shucker knows to leave the clam juice in the shell to enhance the flavor, unfortunately these clams were served dry. My bill for two people was about $200, excluding tip, and we didn't even order drinks. For that kind of money, at a minimum I expect to be treated with courtesy, which I did not receive. read more
