Bang Bang Shrimp Avocado Rice Bowl with corn, pickled onions and black beans

Had lunch at Bigg Belly in Valley Cottage and it did not disappoint! I ordered the Bang Bang Shrimp Rice Bowl and it was absolutely delicious! The crispy shrimp with just the right amount of kick, on top of perfectly seasoned rice and fresh toppings. Super flavorful and really satisfying. The portion size was generous too! The staff were really welcoming and the vibe inside was chill and clean It's a great spot for a casual bite. I'll definitely be coming back to try more from the menu. Highly recommend if you're in the area and craving something tasty and fresh!

I was looking to eat lunch and decided to check this place out. Big Belly was such a catchy name and I expected a different place than I imagined. It's basically a deli with lots of seating. The food menu is the same that you would expect from a deli. I ordered a cheeseburger, fries and Buffalo wings. All of it a La carte. I didn't notice any combo meals. The French fries were crispy and yummy! It had a bit of that good coating and fried to perfection. The wings were also good, fried crispy the way I like it. I asked for the classic Buffalo sauce in the side since I wasn't sure how spicy it was. It also came with your choice of other flavors. The wings came with a side of blue cheese dressing and it looked and tasted homemade with chunks of bleu cheese. So overall Bigg Belly didn't disappoint. I would order from them again. The prices seem reasonable: fries were $3.95 (portion generous), cheeseburger $7.95 and wings $7.95 (5 piece). The interior was very roomy and clean. It's always a plus if you can eat inside especially during your lunch hour or if you happen to be in the neighborhood.

$10 Mac and Cheese on the SIDE menu and got soup instead!!!!!! There was not enough pasta! The service was okay, more effort could have been provided. Never again Nunca más!!!!

    family meal description

This is quickly becoming one of those places where the quality will end up being whatever they think they can get away with without pissing off their customers too much. I used to frequent Bigg Belly for lunch as they had a great selection and decent prices for the portions, but eventually stopped after they started making too many mistakes and everything just gradually got more and more expensive. The family dinner used to be a fantastic deal where you got a tray of salad and a tray of penne a la vodka for 40 dollars and some nice bread to go with it. For some reason now they have it advertised as a sale where the original price is $79.99 (which is absurd there is no way anyone anywhere would pay 80 dollars for a tray of salad and a tray of pasta) down to $39.95 and instead of the tray of salad (which is in the description) they give you a single portion of salad in a tiny tin. The squeeze continues and like I said I think they will go further down this path if that's what they think they can get away with. The quality is dipping and coupled with the high prices it just doesn't make sense to order from here anymore. The service has always been lackluster but lately you come in to pick up your order and there are just teens hanging out at the counter and the grown man who is the chef just chilling there with them? Like this is really weird to be honest. Get your act together!

Food is fantastic but always check your order here. Since they got rid of the original counter girl, orders are constantly screwed up.

After our visit, we decided to walk around town. There were a lot of restaurants open, but they mostly empty. The Breakfast & Burger Club seemed to be really busy. That being said, I figured it must be a good place to eat. We sat down at a table in the restaurant. The server came over with menus and water. We decided to share a Chicken Cobb Wrap along with a Root beer. The IBC Root beer was good. Anyway, it took a very long time for our order to come out. While we were waiting for the food, I noticed a strong smell of cooking oil. The server kept apologizing for the wait. The order finally came out. We were so starving at that point. The wrap tasted very dry, so unlike any Cobb salad. There was no avocado, no bacon etc... In addition, the fries were soggy and cold. I took a good look at the wrap and it had to be a Chicken Caesar wrap. My bf thought the same thing. There was no sense in sending it back, since we already ate some of it. We were charged for a Cobb salad wrap $17.45. However, the Caesar wrap was the same price, so we didn't bother saying anything. The male server and root beer were the restaurant's only highlights. Street parking is available.

The chicken looked good but I only ate 1/2 piece of the wing. (Still have me a horrible headache on the way home). Place is small but that's the least of their problems. Entire staff primarily speaks Spanish and aren't properly trained enough to even know how to take an order at your table. The poor girl tried hard to try to write down our simple order but the language barrier made it hard for her to type our order into the system. She returned to the table 5x to explain the various mistakes she made trying to put the order in. As I stood near the bar waiting to put my OWN drink order in, the young confused waitress ran over to tell me that the kitchen was out of collard greens. I smoked and substituted it for something else. 10 minutes later she arrives with my oversalted chicken and collard greens. Maybe wait a few years and try them, if they happen to stay open by some miracle.

I ordered an old fashioned that came to the table red, and when I questioned the look the waiter assured me it was an old fashioned. Upon tasting it, it had the correct ingredients, but so little bourbon that the color and balance of the drink was off. Then, for the entrees, we both ordered the filet mignon au poivre. The steak was fine, as were the vegetables, but not worth $44 by any stretch. On top of that, the "frites" were clearly frozen rather than freshly made. The waiter was nice, and we enjoyed the ambiance. But we were blown away by the gap in quality of the food and its cost. When you visit French restaurants you expect a certain tier of cuisine that Brasserie seems to be emulating on the surface but swinging and missing on in reality. Not worth the visit unfortunately. Try elsewhere and you'll undoubtedly be more satisfied.
