This is one of those spots you go to more for the vibe than the food. It definitely leans more sports bar/nightlife, so it can get loud and busy depending on when you go. I tried the buffalo garlic parm wings during the wing walk and they were good, just nothing crazy. The sauce combo sounds better than it actually hits, it's more of a basic bar style flavor, a little saucy, not super crispy or standout. Still enjoyable with a drink, just not something I'd go out of my way for. Drinks and atmosphere are really what carry this place. Good for hanging out, watching a game, or going out with friends. It didn't take the review because there was a bus boy who paid special attention to my girlfriend. Who's on crutches got her a chair with backing and helped her sit up. He was amazing and if it wasn't for him, I would've just totally given one. The food was fine and pretty good for a pub. Was that the waitress was just terrible. It was like she was disinterested in what we were doing. She even forgot to take my girlfriend's order and went to give her the order. She didn't come to apologize you can forgive that someone forgot to take one person's order on a group, but can you forgive that they won't say oh I'm sorry it was a mistake if she came to us four times in the whole time we were there. I'm in shock I went to the bar and ordered drinks because it was just quicker service. One person can set the tone and unfortunately the tone that she said was not favorable. Went here for brunch a few weeks ago with my sister. She had hair baked into her omelette. They remade it quickly and our food was pretty good after that, so we were satisfied with the meal. But, we were still a little turned off. Today, we decided to go back and try this spot again; I also wanted to try their Irish breakfast. Our breakfasts were supposed to come with home fries. They gave us French fries at 11:00 am. We were confused, told our waitress we preferred home fries. So she went to get us some. It also said we were getting home fries on the menu, so this was confusing. I had a few fries while I waited; unfortunately I also had a mouthful of long black hair with the fries. Neither my sister or I have long black hair. I moved the fries and a huge clump of black hair was there. I won't be returning to this place since we have gone to this establishment twice this month and both times we had hair in our food. Apparently they are not wearing hairnets. The hair both times were long and black and in the food. So, something is going on in the kitchen. Wear some hair nets. read more

I came here last night to celebrate my friends birthday, I told the bartender I would like 3 drinks a margarita a vodka soda with lemon juice and a tequila soda. The bartender (rude Hispanic woman) filled one of the drinks up not even half way and I asked her politely told please fill it up that I am not going to pay for a half filled drink for my friend. The lady lost her temper and kicked me and my friends out of the bar just because I told her I was not going to proceed to pay for a drink half filled. While walking around looking for a place to get drinks, I stumbled upon Ron Blacks Beer Hall. This beer hall is beautiful! The decorations are lovely, and it felt very cozy. I was quickly seated without a reservation, and our server was prompt and attentive. The warm pretzel bites were absolutely delicious! The BLT (more specifically, bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and whole-grain bread) was just like any other BLT. It was very good but nothing special. However, I did not get the goat cheese or the basil aioli so that might have spiced it up a bit. It was enjoyable though and disappointment won't be afoot. The berry pancakes came toasty warm, they were somewhat fluffy. The portion of strawberrrys and bluueberrys was generous.the fruit also came fresh. The egg white omelette was--well, fine. If you screw up am omelette it's time to hang up the spatula. However the portion of vegetables (peppers, mushrooms, jalapeños, onions) was more then I would have expected and more than I hoped for. The accompanying potatoes were chunk-like and golden crisped! Delicious!!! Service was attentive and prompt. Piped in music was a little annoying--the genre of crooning though, was not offensive. Solid restaurant and bar located on the "sport's bar row" of white plains. They have nice patio seating in the rear. The service was good. They were packed when we visited; I met up with hubbs and some of his coworkers for a birthday outing and the server was very attentive, checking in on us and bringing our drink and food orders fairly quickly. I had a race the following day so I didn't drink much. They offer a decent beer menu but I'm still looking for that Dogfish 120 IPA *sad face* We noshed on typical bar food with their wings, fries, tenders, etc. Everything was good save for the calimari which was super bland. Someone needed to take them out of the fryer oil and immediately salt the rings. I don't love bar food like that so I ate the minimum since I had a couple drinks. I wouldn't be against coming back. Staff is super friendly and the beer selection is excellent. The food is really good too and there is plenty of room to watch your favorite sports event with tons of TV's and room at the bar and tables throughout the restaurant. It is really nice wood and decorated very cool-drinks are a bit pricey but it's worth it for the atmosphere! This is my favorite place to catch a game during the week--they also have good happy hr food and drink specials and outdoor seating when the weather is nice. read more

Grew up in White Plains and had the occasion to be back with my beautiful girlfriend, found Ron Black's through Yelp and glad we did! We arrived right in the thick of the Friday dinner rush and were quickly seated in a booth, with space between us and the bar and the other patrons, and a great view of the big Yankees game and other sporting events. Music was good but not overwhelming so we could enjoy our conversations. Our server was wonderful and pleasant and quick with a recommendation. We started off with the wings, and the medium heat buffalo wings were meaty and delicious - I'm glad we went with nine wings instead of the larger 16 portion, that would have been it for us food-wise! The beer list was good but not amazing, a lot of big brewery regular options and only a few real cool, local craft alternatives. Menu was impressive, upscale pub food and was really good. Went with a build my own burger - bacon, mushrooms, grilled and regular onions, lettuce, tomato, pickles and pepper jack cheese - fantastic! The fries were hand cut and really nicely seasoned. The onion rings were the only somewhat miss, and were a bit bready and bland. GF enjoyed her sliders, and also really liked her cocktail, having a second (a rarity for her and the sign it was really good!). I've been coming to this place for the Wednesday night jam sessions since the late 2010's. The food though very repetitive is really really good especially the burgers, fish and chips, chicken fingers, and my wife's favorite and Caesar salad with steak. The week south is great and great beer is always on top. Be sure to check out the world famous Wednesday night jam with Curtis, Winchester, and Gil Paris on Wednesdays. Came here with my boyfriend and some friends because they had a large variety of craft beers on tap. I wasn't blown away by the options because I tend to look for beers with very high alcohol content, since I don't like to drink too much at a time, due to caloric intake. I'm sure a lot of people think the way I do! My boyfriend, on the other hand, doesn't mind, because he has such fast metabolism, so for him, this was like being a kid in a candy store. They did have 90 minute IPA on tap, which is around 9% and seemed to be the one with the highest ABV. It's a pretty good beer on tap, too... Has a bit of sweetness to it, which I enjoy. It was a fairly big place, and because that day was the White plains St. Patrick's Day parade, it was super crowded. I really did like the party scene, and I especially liked the spacious atmosphere and high ceilings. it is a great place to party with your friends, and although I didn't try any food, I did see people sitting at tables with fun looking appetizers. The best part of the place to me was the outdoor patio. It was small, but any bar with an outdoor area, where you can take your drink with you, is a nice bar to me. read more

A very specific review here. Yay! I'm of a fan of the Wednesday night open jam. The quality of live music ranges from good to outstanding. Most Wednesdays you will see/hear a few local legends play live. And while there are many familiar faces week-to-week, there are often new faces who come and contribute in a really big way. I would love to see the song choices/set list vary a bit, but generally the songs are crowd pleasers. Old school rock (classic), rnb (motown) and funk tend to rule the day. Ron Blacks is also a great venue for this because it's big enough where crowds can gather and NOT watch live music. People gather away from the stage and hang out, drink, etc.. Also, RB has a very good craft beer selection. So if you're in the area on a Wed night, it's a fun time with some really good (and sometimes even outstanding) live local music. read more

Sitting down for dinner ... all was ok until suddenly out of nowhere the A/C or industrial power fan comes on ... bad enough they keep the doors open when it's 36 degrees but this is absurd. And manager Anna says it's the system ... when it's hot in the kitchen the fan system comes on in the dining room (blowing cold air where we are sitting to the point we must get up from table and move away. I reviewed this establishment way back in 2010 and was surprised to see it had been removed by Yelp. It was a good review, and never received an answer as to why it was removed. Street parking can be tough along this busy boulevard, but we managed to find s place close to this establishment. Diverse menu but as I was people watching I noticed someone noshing on the huge bowl of lobster mac n cheese. I didn't even look at the menu. It just looked like a big, buttery, cheesy, ooey gooey, lobstery bowl of artery clogging goodness! It was pretty amazing and so much! 6 different cheeses, lots of chunky lobster and truffle oil drizzle mixed with al dente pasta shells. So rich and filling, I took the rest back to my hotel and saved it for dinner. Great dish! Try it. read more

I go there with a group of people every Thursday night and we spend between $100-$200 each time .. Not once have we ever gotten a free drink and the service is not always great. We play Radio Bingo and have won coupons for free drinks . There were times they wouldn't honor our coupons , like tonight .. With all the money we spend week after week this cheap ass owner can't even honor a drink. With all the money he makes what is one lousy drink .. I'm done .. Most bars honor a drink when you go there faithfully .. not this cheap ass though ..
