A old school irish pub in white plains that has a friendly chill atmosphere as soon as you walk in .Old style pub decor with a long wood bar and table seating across with Tvs all around to game the sports games as well . Full bar menu as you would expect and I really like the diverse menu as you can go traditional eats or the American pub way as the choices are many and prices are reasonable. My crew and I shared some chicken tenders , wings for the appetizer and a few plates of entrees which include the meatloaf dish and some fish and chips to complete the deal . No room for a dessert and they have some good ones if you can find the tummy room . Nice, cozy place. I only went to the bar portion here, not the restaurant part - so I can only comment regarding that. Bar is nice, spacious, and clean with plenty of seating. Bartender was kind and attentive. Plenty of TVs around as well as a few games, but I just stayed at the bar. Place was comfortable and I could easily see coming back to either sit at the bar or to actually try the dining portion. There is street parking and a municipal lot behind this establishment. It's White Plains where they have no mercy on your car and giving you a ticket for anything they can, so make sure you have adequate time at the meter. And also make sure your registration and inspection stickers are updated - they will check and returning to my car, there was someone checking. Overall nice place that I intend on returning to again. Watched the knicks game here and ate dinner as well. Loved the peppy crowd on a Wednesday night. Great place to watch a game (even though it seemed no one else cared about the knicks. :) ) Liked my lentil soup with hot dogs (random but they tasted fine.) Also enjoyed my sald. Open early and late it is the last stop for many people on Mamaroneck ave. Dunnes is better than every single bar in white plains. It's one of the few that nobody creepy hangs out at. It's a true dive bar and the only place in white plains that has great quality Guinness on tap. Their system keeps it at the perfect temperature with the perfect amount of foam. Just started to come here a few months ago. The wings and pub food are very fresh and tasty, and not greasy at all. But what really makes this place stand out is the staff. They are very friendly and all have great attitudes. They will put any game you'd like to watch on the tv, no matter what tv it is. Definitely a great winter spot for a good bite to eat! We popped in on Wednesday for a quick dinner and a dish to-go. We were pleasantly surprised to have arrived to live Irish music, which is a regular occurance on Wednesdays that manages to not be too loud for the place. Enjoyable to sit back and watch people play, and great for the ambiance. Smithwicks on tap was deee-licious. DH had a burger, medium, and proclaimed it was a great burger. But me? I had the Shrimp Poboy. If you happen to like spicy things (I do) get this sandwich. It was easily the best poboy I've ever had, not goopy, fresh ingredients, great roll... and the shrimp was perfectly cooked, not over done or chewy at all. So good. I think I'll go back for this Non-Irish dish alone. Our one criticism was the lack of Irish standards on the menu... we'd hoped to pick up some Shepherds Pie to go, and ended up with the Crispy Salmon. Called three times to place a pick up order. Was hung up on each time. The fourth time I called I said "Hi, I'm interested in placing a $50 food order and am a block away." They said "We have had two pick up no show orders and can't place anymore." I told them I was literally a block away and would be right there. They continued to yell at me and hung up on me a fourth time. I ended up going to dinner and spending $50 down the street. I will never be back here - how rude! read more

This is by far my favorite pub of the many fine bars in White Plains. The food is very solid and reasonably priced. I love Guinness and I believe their pint is the best pint in NY - that is anywhere in NY, including the city. The staff are very pleasant and have the perfect mix of attentiveness while still leaving you to your group. Lastly, their Wednesday night Irish music night is amazing. It feels like a different time and place (Ireland I guess but I have never experienced anything like it in my trips to Ireland). Hands down the worse service experience in my life. I came in because of the food reputation of this place and as a food lover I was excited. The bar was very busy but the dining room (2 tables occupied) wasn't so,I decided to go there. I wasn't sure if I should seat myself or wait for a host so I stood by the server service counter where a female employee was leaning against the wall talking on her cell phone about drama that was occuring in her life. I waited for about 5 minutes for her to care, even after we made eye contact several times and went to the bartender to ask if I could be served at a table. He came from the bar and sat me himself and said there is a waitress but didn't know where. Turns out it was the gossiping employee. I sat until she finished her conversation, she plainly took my order, no smile, limited personality effort. When my food arrived she dropped my plate (literally, fries fell off) and she walked away to never return until I was obviously done with my meal. I ordered the Poboy which was very good except one half of my sandwich only had 1 piece of shrimp on it so I really only ate 1 half of my sandwich and then the fries. I wasn't going to complain but when the waitress made me wait almost 10 minutes to collect my card to pay while she leaned against the service counter and scrolled her cell phone screen, I got up to ask for a manager. When she asked why I asked to please just send him to my table when he or she is free. Instead the waitress comes over and begins telling me if I have a problem then to talk to her about it. When I asked for the manager again, she finally told me there was no manager to talk to and if she had a problem with her then to tell it to her. So I told her my exact issues. She snatched the bill out of my hand and began ripping it into pieces and said " issue resolved" and walked away from me. I was shocked!! I couldn't believe she was so rude! As I was standing up to leave, she began to scream at me from the threshold that separates the dining room from the bar about how if I wasn't happy and didn't like it then I shouldn't have eaten it. I was so embarrassed I didnt even put on my coat. I just left. To Management: I hope you read these and care enough to contact me and fire your horrible waitress. This occurred on 3/1/16 around 8:00 pm. I enjoyed the half of my sandwich that was complete with shrimp and would have gladly expressed my concerns about the lack there of on the other half to my waitress if she ever checked on me. I wasn't looking for a free meal, just better service. I work during the week in New York and have waitressed for years in a busy New Haven restaurant, so I understand the food industry and that we all have our bad days..but her behavior is inexcusable and I hope that you will do the right thing and get rid of a person who clearly doesn't deserve or care about her job. read more

I have lived in the area for over 12 years and last week was my 1st visit. I was pleasantly surprised at the service and food. I had the fish and chips which was fantastic. I've never been so insulted. I've come in there with my family many times before, when it was much more crowded nonetheless. And tonight I was absolutely floored at how rude we were treated. NEVER AGAIN. There are 20 other bars on Mamaroneck Avenue that are more worthy of my business. The food is mediocre but it was okay because they were always so accommodating. Tonight, not at all. Apparently, the 15 people that were there were more important to their business than our once a week parties of 6+. And, it was so bad, we will never go back. Sorry, but it was unforgivable. There's an Irish session (traditional music) every Wednesday night. Every other Saturday night, there is a smaller group of musicians playing traditional Irish music. if you are going for that reason, you should give them a call to check when they start and if it is a Saturday on which they play. My dad likes to get a burger, chowder or one of the specials and I usually have a salad or even just a vegetable side order. The waitresses are very nice. If you park in the Shapham lot near it, be aware that you have to pay there all the time. Don't risk a ticket. read more
