It's Saturday afternoon, my wife and I were in the Glen Head and Sea Cliff area. We decided to have…read morea light lunch locally. My wife had been to Gallagher's Pub in Sea Cliff the previous night with her girlfriends and thought they had great food. We walked in to a quaint Irish pub and were greeted by Marcus. He smiled and remembered my wife from the night before. We sat down and viewed the menu. Nice selection of food and drinks. We ordered some drinks. My wife had a soda and I had Smithwick beer. A good Irish ale. We decided on the French onion soup. It was served hot and was delicious! We ate and talked and some of our friends came in and visited with them. Good times. My wife was full after the soup , so she ordered some French fries. I ordered a buffalo chicken burger with onion rings. I thought I try something different the chicken burger was great and the onion rings were perfect. We enjoy our meal and visiting with our friends. Marcus gave us a tray for our leftover with a note on the cover. See the photos. It seems Marcus adds a special note to his customers. This was a nice and unexpected surprise. We enjoyed our time at Gallagher's. The wait service was excellent, the food was great and the atmosphere was friendly. I strongly recommend Gallagher's Pub. If you're in Sea Cliff on the north shore of Long Island stop by Gallagher's for a drink and some great food. Travel safe and keep healthy. All the best to you all.

I was out on the Island running some errands when I suddenly felt a hunger. Since it was lunch…read moretime, I looked around and noticed Barefoot Peddler was steps away; it looked decent enough at first glance, so I headed in. BP is very much a no frills spot. We stayed in the bar area as that takes up the majority of the interior; there are, however, some booths and a separate room with tables. Decor was simple - typical bar/pub aesthetics. It wasn't busy at all when we arrived so we had our choice of seats which was nice. The menu was more extensive than I expected. There's a selection of apps, sandwiches, salads, pizzas, soups, fajitas, and burgers - with several sections having a "make your own" option. I decided to go with a sandwich - specifically, the chicken pesto was speaking to me. This was grilled chicken with mozz, pesto sauce, and roasted red peppers on a roll. The sandwich was good - flavorful with all the components marrying well together. The bread was also soft enough that it broke through my bites; I was concerned being a hard roll that it would be too tough, but the consistency was perfect. I opted for tots instead of fries on the side which were good as well. Service was good - our server was friendly and food came out at a good pace. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with the Barefoot Peddler. The food was tasty, and I wouldn't hesitate to return if I'm in the area again.

I had the haddock fish & chips, my husband had the bangers and mash, and we finished with sticky toffee pudding and custard. Everything was delicious and felt like authentic British pub food. The atmosphere was fun, and we loved how the TVs are hidden behind what look like paintings when not in use -- such a cool touch! There's plenty of seating, even for larger groups. We'll definitely be back for future England games, and next time we may bring our dog since we found out they're dog-friendly too!

First off-the owners are so FRIENDLY and kind--you can talk to them about anything and they are happy to answer questions about any of the food and/or drinks. You can tell they love owning this place and meeting customers. I have heard so much about the Pub and went for the first time yesterday with two friends. We had one of their rotating cask beers and one of their bitter regular casks which is a staple of the establishment-each beer was delicious and tasty! I had the vegan curry dish which was very tasty with veggies, rice and great spice. My friends had a dish similar to Shepherd's Pie but slightly different and cooked with more like steak stewed meat rather than lamb and we all licked our plates clean LOL. We also shared two of the desserts which were vanilla ice cream with some type of coconut cookie in it and the other was vanilla ice cream with a yummy type of strawberry sauce I think. The atmosphere is so laid back as well-like traditional British Pubs you order your drinks and food at the bar and they deliver your food to your table with a number. You are able to sit wherever you would like and I hear it gets very packed for European football games. I can't wait until I get a chance to go again-there aren't a ton of food options being that I don't eat red meat-but I was able to find the curry and could also try the Fish and Chips which looked amazing and I have heard it is great. If you are in the area-stop by for a drink or two and you will not be disappointed-you feel like you are transported to England with these type of pub.
