I was sober and dressed so those aren't the reason. Not sure who pissed in his cornflakes that morning but I hope he adjusts his attitude and is better in the future. I WILL be returning as it's a nice small saloon

This Yelp however is about the place to pregame before the show and since I am unfamiliar with the area, I had to ask friends who have been there often what the available options were for me to explore. The biggest recommendation was the bar a few doors down from The Paramount Theater called Huntington Village Tavern. So far I have been here twice and since I don't know when I will be in the area again I wanted to Yelp something up. Spatially speaking the bar is nicely laid out. You have some hightop tables at the front of the big bay window that looks out onto the avenue, the main bar (which is rather long) and a back area that I think houses a pool table. I didn't go back there so am not 100% sure. Now my standard fare at a bar is a couple of pints of beer and not much else. I am not a spirits guy but the tavern appeared to be stockpiled with all of the needed good stuff for the customer who requires that. There is no food being served at the bar, but they allow you to bring in stuff to eat and right near by is pizza, some burgers and a wonderful Spanish food place. I went to that last one but that it for a Yelp of its own. The bar staff was congenial and served my party their drinks nice and fast. This was great since the time frame that I had to get into the show was not really much. I had a WiFi signal when I was in there so am assuming it was theirs but I cannot confirm that this is the case. I will definitely go back there should I be planning on an event at the Paramount. You should do the same.

My friend Michael and I visited this nice little Irish Pub located right next to a big municipal parkinglot I really enjoyed this Comfortable little local Irish Pub. Had a lot of fun celebrating st. Parking is convenient there was a large Municipal lot for free. Will be returning when I am in the area as this is a nice place and I felt welcome. Next time I come I will be able to rate the food. Which lookepd really good. Happy st. Patrick's Day Jim D.

The place is definitely divey inside, came in this past Saturday on St. Patrick's Day as we wanted to go to an Irish pub. Thought Katie Mc's was going to be bursting at the seams but around 130 in the afternoon, we were the only people at the bar and there was another couple having some lunch at a high top table. The bartender was nice enough but didn't mention anything about the place being cash only nor was there a sign that indicated it was cash only so we were a little annoyed when she gave us our total and wouldn't accepted the credit card. They gave us some chips at the bar and also some irish soda bread, which was a really nice though for the holiday. Didn't get a chance to look at their menu, not even sure they have a menu but people were eating food so they must have something. The back of this bar is a little sketchy to me, you walk past a creepy back room to get to the woman's bathroom, I don't know the place just really wasn't for me. They were decorated nicely for the holiday but it just wasn't a place I'd find myself spending a significant amount of time in.

The bar itself seems to be clean & incredibly well decorated with memorabilia, the concert tickets lining the bar were fun to reminisce to. The bar tender was wonderful..nice & attentive. Here lies the problems.. No where on the website or on the social media listings does it remind you that: 1-There is a cover charge for music (not a problem, this should be expected) 2-They only accept cash (of course there is an ATM, duh)(NYS should insist that if an establishment only accept cash, their ATM does not charge a fee) 3-No food (we figured this out by reading reviews, not a problem, eat 1st) 4-After all of this, it seems there is also a 2 drink pp min...also not a problem, but what was annoying is that a well drink is 13 dollars. A club soda 5 dollars, which was because it is one of the 2 drinks..ok, fair. But this is not NYC or a high end nightclub. This is what I expect at The Paramount or Jones Beach. Maybe others feel the same way ? we arrived after the band was already set up & ready to go and there was no one else in the bar..for quite some time after as well. Even as we were leaving 2 hours later, there were too few people there to appreciate this fabulous band. All in all we had an interesting experience, but all 4 agreed we would never return.

Recently this establishment has gotten even better with an improved decor, (they have brought over tables, chairs and other items from the recently closed Red Restaurant), adding a level of sophistication and charm. They have also improved the bar area as well. The menu now is larger and offers some of our favorites, and soon to be yours, from once sister restaurants Red and Osteria da Nino. All the food is outstanding as is the friendly attentive service of the servers. Today Monica and Kelly served us lunch and suggested the fried cheddar cheese curds to accompany our beers, a terrific choice- these are an adult version of fried cheese sticks. We had mentioned that we wanted to share both a Wedge Salad and a Philly cheese steak sandwich, to our surprise both came out thoughtfully divided equally to share making the experience even more enjoyable. Whether you are looking for a quick bit at the bar or a sit down meal this is a perfect choice.

The place itself is very nice and has a cool feel to it. It goes really far back and has two bars, with a little stage in the middle for local musicians and performers. In terms of the drinks they serve, they have a lot of good canned craft beer options (not sure what's on tap), that are served in a nice chilled glass. Their cocktails are very creative and taste delicious. My friends got an East meets West (Mezcal, mango puree, fresh lemon, basil simple syrup with tajin chili salt rim & basil leaf) and a Main Squeeze (Blood orange vodka, passion fruit nectar, aperol, elderflower liqueur, lime juice, thyme simple syrup topped with citrus foam & dried rose petals). The east meets west was really good, and the basil really complemented the mezcal in an unexpected way. The main squeeze was also really delicious and tasted like candy, except for a perplexing smokey aftertaste that we couldn't quite figure out. Overall though some very creative and potent cocktails that we definitely want to come back and try more of! My only issue was with how slow the service at the bar in the front was. I feel like those two cocktails shouldn't have taken 15 minutes to prepare (not an exaggeration). Maybe this is an issue with understaffing?
