Sapsuckers is as I have stated in the past a great go to place for a nice lunch or dinner and to experience one of the largest and most eclectic beer selections in Huntington. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Recently this establishment has gotten even better with an improved decor, (they have brought over tables, chairs and other items from the recently closed Red Restaurant), adding a level of sophistication and charm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have also improved the bar area as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu now is larger and offers some of our favorites, and soon to be yours, from once sister restaurants Red and Osteria da Nino. All the food is outstanding as is the friendly attentive service of the servers. Today Monica and Kelly served us lunch and suggested the fried cheddar cheese curds to accompany our beers, a terrific choice- these are an adult version of fried cheese sticks. We had mentioned that we wanted to share both a Wedge Salad and a Philly cheese steak sandwich, to our surprise both came out thoughtfully divided equally to share making the experience even more enjoyable. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Whether you are looking for a quick bit at the bar or a sit down meal this is a perfect choice.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Think of this as a regular bar but with way better food, great beers on tap and in cans, with all friendly staff. Great date spot if you love craft beer. They also have some wine and spirits. The food menu ranges from Italian to Eastern European to your classic American. One of my go-to places in Huntington for a snack and a pre-show beer.

Food was delicious! The veggie chili nachos were quite yummy. Wings were good, spicy. Good thing I had a cold beer to cool my mouth! My shawarma bowl was so tasty! The caramel on the bread pudding - delectable! Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have lots of beautiful pictures of birds (sapsuckers and others) on the walls.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]All around great place to eat and drink![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Atmosphere: There is a bar up front with a few bar tables on the side (pretty typical bar feel). In the back, you have few tables that feels pretty nice and intimate. It is small! So there may be a wait if you want a table in the back. Service: the bartenders and waiters were all very friendly and accomodating. Food: pierogies!! yum! I could go for some right now. I also had the chicken sandwich which was also pretty good. Drink: pretty large beer selection! :)

Yes Bill S. - You got it right this is a place to come for fancy beers. Any local bar that scores fresh kegs of my holy grail - Maine Dinner gets a minimum 4**** review from me regardless of expense or food. $12 a pour is well worth the absolute pleasure of a freshly tapped keg that holds a nectar of the Gods. So good - I had 2. Lisa E. and I had just finished a nice 4 mile walkabout visiting my hometown. The sun broke through the clouds and we were able to take our well earned beverages curbside. People watching and sipping craft is a pleasure too seldom taken. Tap menu is fire, stay awhile and enjoy life.

Sapsuckers is a Huntington staple. The wings are the best around hands down. Mac and cheese is one of the best ever too. The staff is always great and so nice. Love this spot and cozy atmosphere.

    Saus-A-Lito Sandwich with shoestring fries

Decided to walk in with my boyfriend here because we wanted a quick lunch. We've been here once before but just to sit at the bar and have a few drinks. This second time we came here was for lunch. We both ordered the Sausalito Sandwich with shoestring fries and came with a pickle. The sandwich was a decent size, it had a thin grilled chicken cutlet, guacamole, chipotle aioli (which was a little too overpowering, and could've maybe been a little less intense), tomato and lettuce on toasted rye bread. The sandwich was delicious but it was very messy and needed extra napkins for it. Otherwise the waitress was very sweet, very accommodating. The whole place is small but I liked the decor which made it feel comfy. Overall this place was very good and I'd love to come back here again to try more food!

I've popped in here a few times now and love it each visit ! Usually just grab a quick beer n bite at the bar, love the bartenders! Big welcoming and friendly vibes in here. Love their pierogies.. such a nice little sharing staple (they come with 3), perfectly cooked, dressed with your usual onions and sour cream. Another one of my fav dishes is their chicken pot pie. It's got a great fluffy croissant laying on top of creamy chicken and veggie goodness, don't pass this one up! Also, did a split portion between my guy and I of the beef stroganoff, so good just a touch salty (not mad at it though!).... This place really really has a good menu of "homey" and comforting foods.. great selection of beers, and good prices. Will be back! Ooo they usually have a specials menu for the day, not sure how often they change it but they always have good shit on it! Chili pierogies? This place is on to something.

    FANCY BEER DRANK IT UP

I go to Huntington frequently. Sometimes alone, sometimes with someone or a couple of someones. Huntington has many options. I mean, you know that already. And that's one of the first-worldliest of the first world problems: too much choice. The cavemen probably had a single fire they could crowd around. And their menu choices were likely limited to "catch of the day." But now, even though there are plenty of cavemen around us -- just look at the political climate -- we've got choices of not just individual things, but even GENRES of things. It can make your head spin. My head is spinning right now, but for a number of reasons for which I may need to call a specialist. But you arrive in Huntington and you park your car or maybe you live within walking distance from the village in which case I HATE YOU WITH ALL THE SEEPING JEALOUSY and anyway you wonder where the hell to go for a drink and something to eat. Some places have good grub but terrible beer options, while there are also bars that serve food fit for someone drinking several beers. Sapsuckers had become my go-to spot in town. And by that I mean I GO TO it almost every time I'm in town. I've sat at the bar, at the bar tables, at the regular tables, outside in the back, and even outside in front of the establishment, where I stare at people and sometimes they stare back. I'm a bit of a beer snob, so I appreciate a beer menu that doesn't list Stella Artois as an import craft selection. The rotation usually allows me to try something new, or something familiar that I normally wouldn't find on tap -- like, say, Gulden Draak -- and I can play the big fancy beer snob, sipping from a tulip glass. The menu is extensive. But again, here we go with all the choices. Fortunately, I've found a couple of things I like -- really like -- so I don't stray too far from them, and the routine brings me comfort. The shawrama is top-notch and comes with fries that are so good but which I shouldn't be eating. "Oh, I'll just have one," I'll say to no one, or everyone at the bar. And then I've eaten them all. AND THEN I HAVE EATEN THEM ALL But I've been trying to make better choices lately, so I've more recently been opting for the Greek salad with grilled chicken. It sounds boring (unless you're Greek or maybe from Cyprus), but sometimes (not always) you can appreciate something simple that's made well, and that's this salad. It almost makes me forget that I chose a salad over a dish called the GORDOMAKER. I rewarded myself for the salad choice with a dessert. The flourless chocolate cake was a little too dry, and didn't pair well with what I believed what a vanilla gelato or nondairy ice cream. The only other drawback is that the joint gets really crowded, and people sitting at the bar tend to grow roots that adhere them to their stools. But the staff is great. The main bartender resembles a cross between the musician Jack Johnson and the actor Diedrich Bader, in the best way possible. And the hosts and waitstaff are nothing AND I MEAN NOTHING but friendly and attentive. So yeah, there are many places you can go in Huntington, but this is usually my first choice. Which means there are plenty of other Huntington places you can go, so if you know I'm coming to town (send me your phone number so I can text you) STAY THE HELL OUT SO I CAN GET A SEAT AT THE BAR OKAY THANK YOU FOUR STARS

First off-the owners are so FRIENDLY and kind--you can talk to them about anything and they are happy to answer questions about any of the food and/or drinks. You can tell they love owning this place and meeting customers. I have heard so much about the Pub and went for the first time yesterday with two friends. We had one of their rotating cask beers and one of their bitter regular casks which is a staple of the establishment-each beer was delicious and tasty! I had the vegan curry dish which was very tasty with veggies, rice and great spice. My friends had a dish similar to Shepherd's Pie but slightly different and cooked with more like steak stewed meat rather than lamb and we all licked our plates clean LOL. We also shared two of the desserts which were vanilla ice cream with some type of coconut cookie in it and the other was vanilla ice cream with a yummy type of strawberry sauce I think. The atmosphere is so laid back as well-like traditional British Pubs you order your drinks and food at the bar and they deliver your food to your table with a number. You are able to sit wherever you would like and I hear it gets very packed for European football games. I can't wait until I get a chance to go again-there aren't a ton of food options being that I don't eat red meat-but I was able to find the curry and could also try the Fish and Chips which looked amazing and I have heard it is great. If you are in the area-stop by for a drink or two and you will not be disappointed-you feel like you are transported to England with these type of pub.

It was bright and sunny outside, but traditionally dark and well worn inside. You order at the bar and they bring everything to your table. Owners were very nice as you'd expect. I got their house bitter cask ale. Very good however please note this is close to room temperature than a typical cold beer; I personally love the style and this was a good example. My son doesn't understand that British people call fries chips, so we ended up having to get him French fries and potato chips. They luckily had the latter, even if they didn't have plain ones, so we got him ketchup-flavored chips that of course he proceeded to barely eat (they were actually good). He did like the French fries/British chips, and my wife liked her breakfast sandwich even if it was a bit heavy for her. My fish and chips were really freaking good. Sizable piece of fish (haddock), nice and crisp, with a ton of chips and lots of sauces (spicy mustard, vinegar, etc). Maybe not my favorite fish and chips ever, but it hit the spot. Would come back here in a heartbeat, especially where I could relax and drink a bit more. Completely understand why they are recognized as a top bar in the US.

Selling food and drink to take home in the front (along with a few seats for pints) and mostly drink in the back, I love a good grocer-pub and Moran's is one of those such places. Don't disappear, please don't! The pub pulls a fantastic pint of Guinness, likely because the keg is directly under the bar and the beer travels very little distance into your glass. It's really amazing how wonderful and different the Guinness is when it's fresh and poured correctly. The bartender when we visited was very generous with information about the area and entertained us with stories and chit-chat about local events and the economy. These are the moments you remember from a trip somewhere: a quality drink, a quiet bar wrought with history, a friendly local shooting the breeze. Simple connections and simple pleasures in life that sometimes get lost in the shuffle of busy days. The pub has done quite a bit to make itself marketable to football fans, with a large collection of team scarves and paraphernalia draped over the walls. Unfortunately I was not able to stay long enough to catch the vibe in there during a match. In short, a lovely stop, and probably the most worthwhile of them, during our stay in Westport.

Just functional. I was there on an NFL Sunday. There were lots of regulars. There was good interaction with the staff. I didn't catch her name, but the woman who was the only person working the bar and waiting on the tables was amazing. She was super friendly to everyone. She hustled to meet everyone's needs. It wouldn't surprise me if she is an owner too. It's hard to find people, who aren't owners, who are that committed. I asked for a wing flavor recommendation and she said "Montreal Honey" first. I ordered 6. The wings are part-baked and then finished in a fryer. Good inner and outer texture. The Montreal Seasoning was right on. The Honey didn't have much of a presence either visually or flavor-wise. More was needed to balance the salt from the Montreal Seasoning and to justify the Honey in the name. I tried both the Blue Cheese and the Ranch. I'd recommend the Blue Cheese. I'll definitely return to try more wing flavors. I also ordered a crock of chili, which was full of ground beef and topped with melted cheddar and chopped red onions. The chili was solid. I'd probably try something else before I ordered it again though. I'm a fan of Hideaway and I'll be back. 4.25 Stars
