10 years later, they must be doing something right. Sunday evening, it was not crowded at all but still very very noisy. The waitress was nice. We started with the pretzel and the artichoke dip, they were both ok. I shared a burger with my mom, it was a 2 patty smash burger, no cheese. It had cooked onions, pickles and some kind of sauce, we both liked it. We also had truffle fries. Everyone at our table got a burger and everyone liked them. I came in here the other day for dinner. This location is very low-key. There is not a lot of seating, but there is seating inside and outside. They have Prosecco on tap, which is nice. They also have a lot of options for a liquor and beer. They have a nice wide menu for American food. We had a hamburger with a pretzel bun and I also had chicken sliders. The chicken sliders were really good. Had a lot of toppings on there with a nice sauce. The fries are really good as well. It is a very cute location. A lot of things to look on the wall. Really nice place to spend Friday night in Huntington. There was room at 8pm and their kitchen is open until 12am! Yes! They understand their customers. Another hit at Vauxhall. Got to Huntington late on a Thursday night with a friend. A lot of other places were already closed, but not Vauxhall! They were open till midnight and their kitchen was still open so we were able to grab a bite. We shared a cobb salad with grilled chicken and the pulled pork sliders. Both soooo good. The salad was HUGE and just enough to split with the sliders. Great place. Went in during a rainy day, and was greeted with a cozy pub atmosphere. Staff was super nice, and the menu, while small, was properly focused and deceptively delicious. The fried pickles came out sizzling hot and were the crown jewel of our meal, and the burgers were perfection. A nice place to catch a dinner, or have appetizers and drinks with friends! It's been 8 years since my last review of Vauxhall but that doesn't mean I haven't been coming in regularly since then. A lot of additions and removals on the menu and my most recent visit was yet another 5-star experience. When I last wrote, their vegan option was a chickpea burger, which I loved but let's be real, if you want those real burger feels, you know, the kind that bring you back to childhood barbecues, when you'd pile on the ketchup, pickles and tomato and make your burger so thick you can barely take a bite, then a chickpea burger doesn't quite cut (it's no longer offered). And you will love the fact that Vauxhall offers Impossible burgers (IMO, the most realistic vegan burgers, without the ick factor that some fake meats have). They have a BYO option, too, which is nice for variety. I'm a traditionalist and order mine standard with vegan aioli, pickles and tomato. Legit. And since my last review they have added a vegan hot chicken sandwich. Rejoice! I ordered it once and yes, that chicken patty is realistic in texture. We ordered the vegan nugs this time and we all "dug the nugs." Especially those delicious sauces that come with. I appreciate the bubbly on tap, although this time I had to send it back b/c the tap needed to be changed. They were very busy the night we were there, so I just switched to a very drinkable red. Boyfriend and I came here for a late lunch/early dinner. We both enjoyed it! I got the 26 Clinton chicken sandwich. It was buttermilk fried chicken with bacon, avocado and tomato. It was supposed to have a spicy Mayo...not sure what happened to that. I didn't realize until after...but it's okay. It was severed with their house sauce which accompanied it well. Overall the sandwich was good. I subbed sweet potato tots for regular fries. They were good, but I like my tots a little more crisp. My boyfriend got the breakfast binge burger. Ambiance (3/5): Vauxhall is located within a center with a parking lot for easy access. It was busy inside on a Friday around 8pm. It is both dark and EXTREMELY loud. The establishment needs to turn down the volume to be able to enjoy the conversation at the table. The bar has a wide array of beers on tap. It's a chill spot to hang but way too loud unless you snag a spot outside. Service (3/5): Despite how small the place is, it is hard to get service when you are trying to get their attention. It will take several minutes for an additional ask or refill. Food: Evil Sal (5/5): The burger was very flavorful! The ghost peppers were definitely hot but not intolerable and the marmalade gave it a nice bite. The pretzel bun was a superb choice that can handle the weight and sauce. Pretty solid place. Some things were great. Some things weren't very good. I got the Jameson BBQ Burger. I liked the beef. It was warm and juicy. The onion rings were also great. The bacon was good. However, the bun wasn't great. I love pretzel buns usually, but this one felt, stale would be too strong a term, but somewhere on that spectrum, and I don't think it was really toasted either. Which was a shame. I think the bun is actually pretty important for a burger. The other disappointment were the french fries. They were pretty bad. They weren't very crispy and didn't have that fresh potato flavor you're looking for. But on the other hand, my mom got the sweet potato tots... and they were amazing! Sweet potato is something I always find myself disappointed by. I learned once that you have to parcook it. Something about an enzyme triggering a reaction that makes it sweet. Otherwise it'll be starchy. I have a feeling they did that parcooking. The inside of the tot had a nice fresh and sweet flavor to it. And the exterior actually had a really nice crisp to it. So these have got to have been the best sweet potato tots I've had, and one of my favorite sweet potato sides more generally. Continuing the praise, my girlfriend got fried chicken and it came with this hot sauce. I dipped the sweet potato tots in that hot sauce and it was such a good flavor combination. That hot sauce was just bomb in general. On the other hand, the mac n cheese wasn't great. I thought it was a little overcooked. I prefer the noodles to be have more bite to them. That's my main complaint with the dish, but I think it's an important one. The cheese sauce was fine but nothing special. Could have had more flavor IMO. The parsley on top actually had a really strong flavor that I found offputting. It was kinda bitter. I also prefer mac n cheese baked. We started with onion rings were perfectly cooked, crispy and delicious. We ordered the vauxhall chopped cheese, the Nashville chicken sandwich and the 26 Clinton chicken sandwich. We all loved our sandwiches, I really like the chopped cheese but sadly it was my wife's sandwich. I got the Nashville which was very delicious too. Our son ordered the 26 Clinton and based on the fact that we didn't get to try it at all I believe he loved it since only me and my wife needed containers to bring home leftovers. They seemed to know all their regulars and a place that has people always returning is always a good sign. They had a variety of tasty sounding burgers. To start we got the ghost pepper chicken sliders. The chicken was juicy and covered in those crispy onions. The ghost pepper marmalade hits you with the sweet and then the heat creeps up on you. We each got a burger the Dan smash and a New York jam. The smash burgers were everything you want in a smash burger, the crispy edges smothered in caramelized onions. The Brie cheese on the NY jam paired perfectly with the pepper zesty mustard jam and peppery arugula. Each burger came with their perfectly made fries and some house sauce. The burger was so yummy with perfect spice level and texture. The fries tasted hand cut and were perfectly salty and crispy. They have these cool sauce options on the table for you to use. Strike 1. They have a really nice variety of tap beers, but when we went in about 5pm on a Wednesday we were told there were no tap beers available... strike 2. My husband ordered a Corona it was lukewarm and served with a rotten lime... strike 3 and 4. Should have walked out then. I went to use the bathroom after we were done eating, first bathroom on the left and those two little flies that were around our table, well multiply by about 10 allllll over the bathroom ... strike 5. First off, the vibes were absolutely immaculate...the low-lighting, the instruments hung on the walls, and the early 2000's emo rock really made my soul ascend to a higher plane of existence. For food, I ended up getting the Evil Chick, which was a chicken sandwich that had a ghost pepper jam. Was I fighting for my life? Yes, but in the BEST way possible. This was the last place we came to after 3 fail attempts on a date night with my girlfriend and this place is another place in Huntington I follow and wanted to try. The food and service here was A1. We walked in and sat right at the bar and the bartender greeted us with menus and got our drinks and food in asap. For a starter, I ordered a giant pretzel and I ordered a chicken sandwich and my girlfriend got chicken nuggets with a side of French fries. Everything came out fast and every thing was amazing. Stopped by Vauhall for lunch on a Saturday. Great music playlist being played that definitely fit the vibe of the place. Food was great and they have a nice variety of craft beer on tap. We ordered: -Rodeo Clown Burger (pictured): This was DELICIOUS! I initially asked the server if I could get the rodeo clown without a burger patty because I felt it might be too filling after our appetizers but he advised me against it and I'm glad he did. The pulled pork on top of the burger patty along with the other components work so well together and I ate every last bite. I asked for a side salad instead of fries and it came with a simple kale salad with a delicious dressing (not sure what it was exactly, but boy was it good!) -Nashville Chicken Sandwich: Another goodie but be warned, it is spicy! This sandwich will leave a HOT feeling in your mouth for a while. However, the napa slaw and pickles are a good compliment to the spicy chicken. -Vegan Nugs: The vegan nugs were interesting. I've never had any vegan chicken substitutes (other than cauliflower wings) so I wasn't sure what to expect. The bartender told us they were made to be like McDonalds nuggets, and he was correct. In terms of texture, they were very similar to McDonalds nuggets, crispy and crunchy on the outside. However, they didn't taste like much on their own. We found that the vegan nugs are perfect for dipping. We had two sauces, BBQ and I think it was a chipotle mayo of some sort, and the nugs tasted great with the sauce. On their own, just okay, but with sauce, beautiful! Overall, I'd definitely recommend Vauxhall! I noticed in another review that someone complained about the fact that there are limited tables and seating. While, yes, Vauxhaull is on the smaller side and does not have 20+ tables, we loved the more intimate environment because we felt like the one bartender and server were able to be very attentive and provide us with an awesome experience. They provided us with recommendations based on what we said we liked and we were happy with everything! People will look for things to complain about, every place in Huntington will have long waitlists at varying points in time, seating is never unlimited lol and Vauxhall is no exception.
