We had a hard time getting a reservation for Mother's Day, and my wife remembered that someone had told her about this place. I was able to get a reservation, and to say I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and the menu had plenty of great options to choose from. We started with the Poo Poo Platter and the clam dip as appetizers, and both were absolutely delicious. My wife and I split the filet mignon sliders with sweet potato fries, and everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. One of my sons ordered the wings -- honey BBQ and sweet chili -- and both flavors were outstanding. Overall, it was a fantastic experience from start to finish, and we will definitely be going back. read more

Had to wander into Farmingville recently and was looking for a place to chill after shopping . This place fit the bill, great atmosphere , tasty grilled wings , Jalapeño poppers and other pub food . Tried this place for the first time. I've heard they have good wings and honestly, they really are some of the best wings I've ever had. They have so many TV's that if you're into sports it's a great place to watch a game. I think the best part though, was how friendly and nice the staff is. Our server Katie was so wonderful. While visiting NY a buddy of mine brought me here cause i wanted wings and he knew just the spot. Food was VERY good and not your typical bar food by no means. By far the best grilled wings I've ever had! Crispy and full of flavor. The blue cheese ranch sauce literally made me drool. We also ordered the Buffalo dip and truffle fries which paired very nicely with the grilled wings. The bartenders were super nice and drinks were great without the heavy pour. A work happy hour brought a bunch of us to Changing Times and a great evening was had. A group of ten of us enjoyed a plethora of appetizers, and some entrees. Changing Times had a great take on Buffalo Wings that arrived on a tray and were delightful. The beer selection encompasses all tastes and there is something for everyone. Very friendly(and funny) Bartenders. Went here for the first time because they have high Yelp ratings for "Sports Bar". I was very pleasantly surprised by the number of TV's playing every game. TV's are on every wall so there's no bad seats! Drinks are reasonably priced and it's nice to still find Bars that do buybacks (almost no Sports Bars do that anymore). There are 20 beers on draft and they have a fantastic selection. Big food menu! I had the Fried Flounder on toasted Garlic Bread with melted cheese. It was very good and I would order it again. Later in the night I ordered 12 Honey BBQ Wings which were also very good. This is a real, old school sports Bar where everyone is talking sports with each other. My buddy and I noticed that the bar was only men which you just don't see anymore. Great Bar patrons- We were all talking, laughing and having Shots! I really like beer cheese soup and it's not something most places offer so I had to get here and give it a try. It wasn't served quite as hot as I'd prefer but it was very good and filled that craving for sure. The crab and shrimp bisque and the quiche lunch special were said to be very good as well. I am a frequent french dip orderer but was not impressed with this one. The meat was overdone / dry and the au jus was crazy salty (of course I know it's always salty but this one was a lot) and too much Worcestershire flavor, which I never thought I'd say that! The fries looked like they would be very basic but there was a little batter on them or something that made them nice and crispy with a great flavor; they were nice and hot too. Great place for a casual drink and bites with friends. Very welcoming down to earth servers, amazing appetizers and food: the mozzarella sticks are the best- so crispy and large! I work in the area and have wanted to come here for a while. I finally made it over today with some co workers for lunch. It had a good amount of people for Thursday at noon, I didn't expect many people to go to a pub during break. Many business people, like ourselves, dressed in suits etc. which I hear that's the usual clientele. We sat at the little outdoor area which was nice. We were greeted and given menus promptly. One of my colleagues got a tuna salad sandwich, the other got Kevs turkey burger, and I got the honey mustard chicken sandwich. We all enjoyed our sandwiches which were accompanied by French fries which were amazing, a pickle, and coleslaw. The name says it all, because the times, they be changin'. Well here at Changing Times in Farmingdale we're definitely talking about today...or last weekend, when I first entered their doors with my buddy and sis as we chowed down on some edibles. Results were mixed, but I'll probably be back. For the skinny, keep on keeping on. You won't find CT in the middle of Main St., but a handful of minutes will get you to this white lettered, neon-signed bar and grille. Well, that's the outer layer. Inside it's a bit more dimly lit except for the illumination of walls filled with televisions. It's shaped in a peculiar way and I kept thinking the word "roadhouse" in my mind throughout the meal (sans Swayze). Two entryways (front and back). We came in from the latter and were facing the island-shaped bar. Plenty of taps and bottles available with craft beer favorites and a few unique choices. This'll be a factor for a return trip. The menu was one of quintessential sports bar/pub/grille grub with a few extras mixed in there (pizza huh?). We started with fried pickles and a jumbo pretzel with cheese sauce. Recently I've consumed a great number of bodacious Bavarian pretzels, but this one was not in that caliber (nor was it probably Bavarian!). For a "jumbo" pretzel it was rather tiny and though it wasn't necessarily a complete downer, I stuck with eating more of the fried pickles. Now those were lovely little coins of fried goodness with a stellar horseradish dipping sauce. If/when I return, they're happening for sure. For the main dish I tapped into my carnivorous roots and went for a burger (The cleverly titled "That's a Gouda" burger, hold the shrooms). With or without the fungus I don't think we'd be talking about a memorable patty. The smoked Gouda, peppers, and onions gave it some quality flavor, but the meat was thin and pretty dry. And just to throw in there, I don't often care about presentation but the plate was accompanied with a bunch of scattered, sad fries. My buddy got a Philly cheesesteak and seemed pleased. My sister enjoyed her massive yellowfin tuna salad. Overall, maybe I just chose wrong with the burger (and pretzel). The wings are apparently award winning so that might be reason to return as well. As for service? Decent. Price? Also decent. Despite all this mediocrity, I would come back to Changing Times and give it another whirl. Though my next visit might be more for beer and sports watching...and fried pickles. read more

Was invited here by a fellow Yelp friend (Evan. C). I arrived before the rest of our party. The host still sat me at a table for 10. That was the first good sign as a lot of restaurants/bars will not sit you unless your entire party is present..:especially during football. I ordered my blue Moon and waited for everyone else to arrive. Blue Moon was the perfect temperature..nice, cold and crisp! When some of the others arrived we ordered wings. The wings are grilled and very delicious. You have to order in increments of 10...but that's a generous portion. The wings are very meaty! During football wings are $0.50 and flavored wings are $0.60. While enjoying my wings I was informed that they make their own blue cheese dressing and I must try it. It was delicious! For the table we also ordered nachos, Buffalo chicken dip, and fried pickles. Nachos were great. Piled high with cheese, beans, chili, lettuce tomato and guacamole. However, we had two orders of nachos and only one was served with guacamole. Buffalo chicken dip was great also. My only complaint is that there isn't enough dip for all the chips! Fried pickles. Wow! So damn good. Nice and crisp and it soggy. The dip that came with them was delicious. I also had a few fries. Nice and crispy!! We ordered multiple "beer towers" for the table. It's like our own mini tap. Definitely worth it if you're a beer drinker. Our waitress was Barbara. She was great with our huge party. On top of everything and very patient. read more

I can't believe this is my first review of changing times pub. I've been going here for probably 20 years. The main reason we go here for the wings! They have the best wings. When you order them your order them grilled with the sauce on the side plain and simple. Staff members are always super friendly bar non-COVID is always packed with locals and people from all over. Many televisions for all of the games I've even had a draft year for my football pool. Food is excellent anything from their salads to burgers. Ok so me and shawty went there to watch the Celtics game one night. We rushed there so we didn't miss anything.. Now it's the playoffs, and we were surprised the game wasn't on any of their 272838 TVs. I ask the bartender to change the tv and she informs me that the other bartender dude has to change the channel. Well this dude took a lifetime to come to the bar, all the while I'm wondering why nobody told her how to change a TV channel in a sports bar, and she also never made any attempt to let him know that I have viewing needs...it was a slow night btw. Game on, food ordered. Got the calamari and wings which were both cool. Except the calamari was kind of like an illusion.. looks like it's a good amount but there's actually a bunch of lettuce under the mari. Ok now onto what actually pissed me off. We got an extra blue cheese for the wings. Normal stuff, then when I get the bill, come to find out that extra lil scoop of blue cheese was 2 entire dollars. What in the everloving f**k?! Never in my life have I been charged 2dollars for sauce. Did Jesus make this blue cheese?! The sh*t wasn't even like in a nice ramekin, just the little plastic to-go one. It makes no sense to be charged basically an extra 20% of the price for the wings just for gettin an extra blue cheese. I had a business training in Melville this week. The changing times pub was recommended to us by some locals for a few snacks, beverages and of course to watch the Yankee game. Situated conveniently across the street from Farmingdale state college in a strip mall, Changing Times is a bustling locals happy hour spot. Our crew of 3 found spots at the busy bar and started with cocktails and some grilled wings. I have had wings all over the country but outside of my own bbq I have never experienced grilled wings....skeptical I was brought back to childhood memories of Sunday's at Home with my Mom grilling chicken. The wings are likely brined rubbed then grilled possibly tossed in hot sauce prior to the grill. Moist, tender and Delicious! Accompanied by celery, carrots and a wonderful homemade blue cheese sauce these wings are top notch. Cocktail service was great, the bartenders here are on their game. This location has bands on the weekend, a patio out front with TV's. Inside there is a tremendous bar with at least 30 seats, surrounded by TV's. There are probably 15 tables for a sit down dinner.
