After another visit- still great tasting, innovative menu with great drinks! The chicken Caesar sandwich is such a great twist on this popular menu item. Again, the waitress was so helpful and accommodating with menu questions.

Whiskey Down Diner is so much more than a diner. Yes, it looks like a traditional diner. But there is so much more to their dishes than what you typically find. Located in the main street area of Farmingdale, Whiskey Down is a great place to stop for a burger, breakfast for dinner, or an overembelished milkshake. They feature milkshake specials each month, and they are SO worth it. Make sure you save room for one! The prices are consistent with diner prices, and the portions are large for the price point. Caveats: Read the signage wherever you park. The Main Street area of Farmingdale has a lot of parking, but each lot/meter may have its own rules. Also, the diner is not a large venue, and the waiting area is small. Be prepared to stand, or even wait outside. Whatever you choose to eat, I promise it will be worth it!

This place has been hyped FOREVER to me, and I finally got to try it. I'm not sure what I was expecting exactly, I think maybe a bit nicer of an interior? But it really is just a regular diner. Much smaller than a typical Greek-run diner, and I'll say not as nice, either. It seemed a little dirty when I sat down, food on the floor, dirty water cups, water-splotched silverware. I was very surprised that everyone in my family talks about this place like it's the best ever. Menu is huge, and pretty cool that they have special seasonal menus, a lot of what sounded interesting to try. I was debating between a few things, but ultimately went with the chicken souvlaki. I was hoping for a great sandwich, especially with the Greek Key paper placemats, but what arrived was in no way a traditional souvlaki. The chicken was wrong, huge chunks, no grilled char, some pieces gristley. Also a bit confused at the dressing on it when it should have been tzatziki. I think it was some sort of vinaigrette. The pita was thick and dry, definitely generic bagged pita. Feta was sparce as well. Fries were fine. Tried a bite of their tuna sandwich which was good. I'd probably try breakfast food if I ever came back here.

I had a gift card that I wanted to use at this place. For some reason I thought they wouldn't look like a usual diner based on the videos I saw on social media. But it looks like a regular diner when you look in, except for the fact that they have an outdoor area. The food is unlike "typical" diner food though. I would say it's slightly elevated that regular diner food, and their price reflects that. I decided to get the lobster tacos. They were huge and packed with so much lobster cabbage, and other toppings. I actually ate only one, and saved the other one for the next day cause the portions were huge. Our server was pretty friendly, pretty nice to visit once in a while.

This diner is such a cozy spot with an amazing menu you honestly can't go wrong with whatever you order! They offer a seasonal menu that keeps things fresh and exciting every time you visit. The portions are large and satisfying. We tried the steak panini sandwich and it was absolutely incredible tender, flavorful steak packed inside perfectly toasted bread. Definitely one of our favorite dishes! On top of all that, the prices are very affordable, making it a great place to enjoy a delicious meal without breaking the bank. Highly recommend checking it out!

Great breakfast spot! Stopped in on my weekend trip and was pleased. Ordered French toast bites for the table and they were a huge hit. Still thinking about them! Pancakes were good I had a breakfast wrap - large portion and full of flavor. My husband had a breakfast salad and that was fantastic and very filling. All of our friends really enjoyed their meals too. Everyone kept saying how large the portions were. Place had a line but we opted to sit outside to avoid the wait. It was a beautiful day out. Service was good and the staff was kind.

I was really shocked after coming here. I had heard mixed reviews but I had an incredible experience here. Our waitress was so friendly and kind and had a great suggestion of the chicken Caesar Sando. Wow that was probably the best sandwich I've ever had. The pretzel croissant was INSANE!!! The salad was well dressed and everything was so tasty! I can't wait to come back!

I was a bit nervous, seeing a place with a huge menu always makes me skeptical but Whiskey Down delivered!! The star of the show was the apple crumb pancakes- so insanely delicious and not too heavy (though super sweet). The sweet potato tots on the side were crispy and delicious and an ENORMOUS portion. Others really liked the breakfast burrito, burgers, and breakfast poutine! My hot honey sliders were the only let down because the biscuit was super pale and tasted very under done, almost raw. The portions were huge for the price and everyone had leftovers. It is busy and we did wait an hour for a large party on Sunday morning but once seated the food came out almost immediately and they move tables quickly.

Always a great breakfast or lunch. Always great and polite friendly service. My favorite lunch is the Gyro platter. And for breakfast or lunch the best BLT around. Served with fries, slaw and a pickle. And outdoor seating on their patio when it's warmer.

Another great meal at whiskey down! Food was excellent and large portions! Service was great and Noel, our server was wonderful! Great menu , and lots of vegetarian options. Definitely try to whipped feta/ ricotta toast appetizer. They have outdoor seating as well. Parking on the street and municipal parking lots.

They asked for drink orders and we were left alone for a long time until the drinks arrived. Though we were ready to order, the server just dropped off our drinks and went to bring another table upstairs. I went down to the counter to get someone to take our order, and it took nearly an hour before our order was in (and even then, they took the order of the second table before taking our party's order). It was almost an hour and a half since we entered the restaurant when the food finally arrived at our table, and then it took so long for someone to come with our check and process payment, we went down to the counter to do it. During this time, another family was seated upstairs and left due to not being attended to. This caused big delays in our day and I had to cancel an appointment because we spent over two hours at this restaurant when we didn't want to. That said, food was good. I got the lemon blueberry pancake, which was a little bit gummy but mostly tasted fine. My brother got the mangu, which is kinda hard to find around here, let alone on the menu of a breakfast brunch restaurant. It was my brother's first time having it, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Besides him choosing scrambled eggs instead of fried eggs, it was very classic mangu breakfast. The real crabmeat omelet was another hit-- crabmeat was so real there were little pieces of shell lining-- really ambitious and deliciously executed. The menu is really fun and the food was overall good. Again, I think the very slow service wasn't on purpose and it's because they didn't anticipate such a large crowd on a Friday, but I would say run if they try to seat you upstairs and you're the only ones up there. Be prepared to wait for a long time if you want the reward of nice food.

That's the kind of place you'll want to linger long after your plate is empty. We had French Onion Soup, and it was everything you want from a classic. Rich, deeply caramelized onion broth with incredible savory flavor, topped with a toasted baguette that soaked up just enough broth while still keeping a little bite. The bubbling layer of melted mozzarella and Swiss stretched with every spoonful. There was a flavor I couldn't place, but had me thinking herbaceous Italian seasonings, which isn't typically the flavor profile of French onion soup, gave it a unique flavor and made every bite more irresistible. The Asian Chicken Salad was anything but ordinary. Crisp romaine and crunchy red cabbage were tossed with tender grilled chicken, crunchy cashews, and fresh scallions. We got the sesame ginger vinaigrette on the side, which struck the perfect balance of nutty, tangy, and slightly sweet. Every forkful had a fresh crunch followed by a burst of bright, savory flavor that kept us coming back for another bite. The Chicken Taco Salad arrived in a crispy tortilla shell that was almost too pretty to break into, but we're glad we did. Juicy marinated chicken, creamy avocado, fresh pico de gallo, sweet corn and black bean salsa, chopped greens, and a generous blend of Mexican cheeses were all tied together with a smoky chipotle-lime vinaigrette. Cool sour cream mellowed the gentle heat, creating the perfect combination of creamy, smoky, zesty, and fresh in every bite.

My brother has always wanted to try this place, but we never had a chance to actually step foot inside the Library Cafe. As the name suggests, the restaurant sits at the site of the old town library, and the bar area has tall shelves and a rolling ladder to pay homage to the name. To maximize the restaurant week menu, three of us tried different appetizers. The ahi tuna taco was the best of the lot- crispy shell and nicely prepared tuna filling. The Thai calamari was a little too overcooked and the sweet sauce was cloying. I didn't get to try too much of the French onion soup because my dad almost inhaled it whole, but it was gooey and comforting. I had the honey-soy glazed salmon with broccolini. The salmon was a little dry, but the glaze and cashew went well with it. Maybe a touch of spice could have improved the dish. The broccolini was nicely textured and not too bitter. My mom's fish and chips were underwhelming, though the not-proper "chips" were well fried and seasoned. It was not served with vinegar either. My brother had the Buddha bowl which he enjoyed and felt was a good health conscious option. I did love that they allowed my dad -- who was not feeling too well-- to order just an entree while the rest of the table had the restaurant week menu. I know some restaurants require all members of the table to order off the prix fixe menu sometimes. He had the burger, which was cooked very precisely to medium-rare. We did have dessert though we were stuffed at this point. The sticky toffee pudding cake was lovely, moist, and so decadent without being overly heavy. I ordered the wild berry cheesecake, and while the clearly house made berry compote was a nice touch, it was just a little underwhelming next to the sticky toffee pudding. Overall, we had a good time at the Library Cafe, and though service was a little slow due to sudden rush of diners, it was a fun little weekday dinner. I did see signs for their happy hour, which I'd love to try-- especially their cocktails named after writers!

It had plenty of flavor and a nice balance of chicken, fresh mozzarella, tomato, and bread. The breakfast burrito and home fries, however, were a bit bland and could have used a little more seasoning. Wifey also tried one of their drink specials, the Salted Earl Grey Vanilla Latte.
