    Cuban Slide & Soup

I don't know how this place has a 4-star review. I went there and was not impressed. It seems like, if you're going to call yourself a gastropub, which is what drew me in, you should have not just good food, but amazing food. Adding "gastropub" to your name is like making a promise that you won't just be eating a meal, you'll be having an experience. That being said, the service was very friendly. I liked the servers very much. Service was a tad slow, but they made up for it with personality. I interacted with three people there, and they were all very pleasant. The place was nice and clean. There were other groups there dining. Okay, so... the food. I ordered the Tomato Bisque soup, and the Cuban Slide sandwich. The soup was kind a bit bitter, and so thick I could use it as wallpaper paste. The Cuban Sandwich, and up until now, I had never met one I didn't like, had too much aioli on one side, and too little on the other (the side with too little was better for it). The "oven roasted pork" on the sandwich was more towards oven cremated. It had bits so overcooked they were crunchy. I'm sorry. I don't like leaving a bad review. When I saw the words "gastropub", I had high hopes. I won't be back to this place. Sorry, Campagne House

Came here for Sunday brunch, indoor is nice and spacious and there's a nice outdoor area to dine as well. Brunch is from 11:30am-3pm. Service was fast and the food wait was not long at all. It did not seem too crowed (Sunday early afternoon). If you don't get anything else, the Mussel Pot was delicious (ask for my bread to dunk in the sauce). The steak satay tasted great too, I think it was a tad bit pricey for the portion but just my opinion. Good: -Garlic Mussel Pot!!! -Satay Steak -Lettuce wrap -Eggs Benedict Florentine Bad: -None

Campagne House in Bethpage NY on Broadway is a local bar restaurant that has a long family and town history. Today a Sunday was this year's Bethpage street fair. (see seperate review for booths and items sold there) I stopped in at 2:30 (brunch closes at 3) I sat in their outside area which is fenced in with a gate Exit to the street has colorful umbrellas and pitina decor including an old small mailbox. ( see pix) Inside, I noted a sign with dates of Live Music, the bar to the side , tables and chairs and the bathroom. I stopped into their bathroom and washed my hands. Then I ordered a meal from a kind and acurate server Joe. Steak and eggs, toast and potato's were perfectly cooked from chef Marvin. I added a pineapple juice and had a delicious meal. I plan to go back.

My family of 7 planned to go to another brunch place across the street but they told us the wait would be "hours" so we took a chance and tried the champagne house. Everything was great. The place was cozy but spacious, food was delicious everyone cleared their plates. Bloody Mary's were one of the best I've had.

Food and appetizers were delicious and the bartender was very delightful, very welcoming and attentive to our needs in the bar area. Ambience was nice they had music , TVs to watch the games. I would definitely recommend. We even met the head chef he's was very nice bought us a round of shots.

I had my 'big' birthday party for 40 people at Campagne House in Bethpage. I can only say the best about the food/ service. Brunch buffet was salad, spinach omelette, French toast, chicken Francese, pasta and meatballs. Also bacon, hash browns, and bread. We had the mimosa/Bloody Mary/coffee/soda package. The food was delicious, set up was perfect, service was excellent. I highly recommend Campagne House for any party. They were easy to deal with and very accommodating.

Rustic American Cuisine Under Stars FOOD: 4 out of 5 stars Food was tasty and delicious but nothing was memorable. We had the Maple Duck, Grilled Cheese Dipping, and Crab Cake Bites with Limoncello Mule. The duck was not gamey at all and it dressed with maple blueberry sauce -easy eat. LOCATION: 5 stars This is a cute local spot in Bethpage , plenty of parking and it's in walking distance to the train. SERVICE: 5 stars Service was quick, polite, no complaints at all. AMBIANCE: 5 stars Rustic American vibes with indoor and patio with string lights featuring live music! Score! WAITLIST: 5 stars No wait

Heard the guy next to us order a French dip and the waiter said great, we have only 2 left. So when he came to us I ordered and he said great timing it's the last one. Took 45 minutes to get our strawberry salad which was delicious. Another 3o minutes go by (and the guy next to me who ordered the other French dip had already finished and left) So the strawberry waiter, after more than 1.15hr walk over and says "hey, we ran out of the French so I ordered you the steak sandwich. Huh? 1 hour and fifteen min later you ran out and the other guy already ate and left? I said great, but I'm not paying for it. 10 min later the owner came out. He could not have been a friendlier, responsible and all around nice person. It wasn't that he not only covered my meal but the table but it was the way he handled it. Owning a restaurant is not easy and problems happen. Food - 8/10 Prices 9/10 Place 8/10 I would not only recommend this place but they have absolutely earned my business. I obviously can't give a 5 because of the incident but I will change this to a 5 when I go back and get the service I have a feeling I'll receive. Everything tasted fresh, not frozen or overly salted like some buffet places. The sides and accompaniments were solid too. For the quality and unlimited seafood, the price was very reasonable -- definitely one of the best budget-friendly seafood options on Long Island. The space features a contemporary design with a nice bar area, and the waitstaff were friendly, attentive, and on point throughout the evening. They also offer a happy hour menu (though it didn't apply to our visit). Food was more mixed. Overall presentation on the dinner plates missed the mark. The lasagna was solid (about a 3.0)--flavorful enough, but it just sat unevenly in the dish with no real visual appeal. The special osso buco came with a sauce that leaned too sweet; the risotto underneath was tasty, but the dish as a whole didn't quite impress. On the brighter side, the special soft-shell crabs were excellent--served in a Française-style sauce that hit the mark both in flavor and presentation. The fried calamari was fresh and tasty, elevated by the smart addition of fried artichoke hearts. Dessert sealed the night well, the homemade rice pudding sprinkled with walnuts was delicious and definitely worthy of a permanent spot on the menu. A pleasant evening overall, driven by strong atmosphere and service, with a couple of standout dishes balancing out the less memorable ones.

I came here last week for an event, and got to enjoy basically a tasting menu of sorts…read more This menu took Indian flavors on a seriously fun ride. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. It is definitely a spot that should not be missed.

The space is modern and beautifully decorated, but still has that cozy, comfortable feeling that makes you want to settle in, order way too much food, and stay awhile. The staff was also wonderful. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and, most importantly to me, genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. I always appreciate when the people working at a restaurant can actually talk to you about the dishes, ingredients, flavors, and what makes something special. It makes the whole experience feel much more personal. But the FOOD is absolutely the star here. Everything we tried was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and just so satisfying. My favorite dish was hands down the chili chicken momos. They had exactly the right amount of heat--spicy enough to give you that little kick, but not so much that it overpowered everything else going on in the dish. The momos themselves were delicious, and the combination of spice, savory flavor, and texture made them something I could honestly order over and over again. I also love that Banjara has some more unique cocktails rather than just the standard drinks you see everywhere. They fit the modern feel of the restaurant really well and make it a fun place to come for dinner, drinks, or both. As someone who genuinely LOVES Indian food and is always excited to explore different dishes and regional flavors, I really enjoyed my experience here. Banjara manages to feel modern without losing the soul and flavor that makes Indian food so special. Great atmosphere, genuinely kind and knowledgeable people, creative drinks, and food that makes you start thinking about what you're ordering next before you've even finished what's in front of you. If you're looking for a cozy, modern Indian restaurant with a little personality and some seriously delicious food, give Banjara a try. And please do yourself a favor and order the chili chicken momos.

During the winter months I'd do takeout and every time the food was great at home. I love their soba noodles salad when it's in season, however they switched to a different noodle and it doesn't have the same oomph! The owner recognizes me from all the times I've been there for dining in, takeout, called, and parties and events. I went there again last night with some family and overall it was very nice. One star deduction for the rudeness we received from the manager. She came over after we ordered a second bottle of the Freemark Abbey (wine) (as they were completely out and the first bottle we ordered was their last bottle in stock) and gave us two "similar" options that were around the same price of the first bottle. Price doesn't equal to taste. We first asked if it's okay to try it even if we may not like it, and she kindly proceeded to open the bottle. We said "no thanks," to the Keever (it tasted disgusting in comparison), which she and her colleague highly suggested, and we asked nicely if the other bottle was an option to try, but she swiftly walked back inside with both bottles and brought out an open bottle of the Katherine Cab. We liked that better. She stormed away after she said something fast and nasty like "It's either the bottle or you have to pay per glass." We didn't quite catch it but the ultimatum put a bad taste in everyone's mouths. We wound up ordering the Katherine Cab. When we got the bill the server charged us fairly. We tipped well because it's not the server's fault she was upset about opening the wine that she pushed. Happy eats!
