I came here last week for an event, and got to enjoy basically a tasting menu of sorts. This menu took Indian flavors on a seriously fun ride. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. Banjara was definitely an experience, and of the most elite ones that I have had Every dish had a signature way of being presented and definitely a tasty way to make its way to our hearts (and belly may I add) We did, of course, family style and got to try each dish, from its beginning to the end the place deserves a 5 star review . The servers were spectacular, super attentive and diligent with all of our requests The atmosphere is cozy and clean, I feel if this place was a little bigger it would be packed at all times I would definitely recommend coming here and trying each of the dishes, they are made with love and care read more

4.5 stars! Visited on a Friday night for dinner. It is a little cozy (tight) inside - so be sure to make a reservation. Favorites included the lamb chops, the boursin potatoes were beyond delicious. And the amul stuffed paratha. Chicken biryani and Chicken tandoori were middle of the road. Skip the cranberry malai kofta and the cauliflower 65 is not for the weak. Everything was beautifully plated, maybe a little theatrical for my taste - smoke coloshes, chicken being lit on fire. There's a lot more on menu I want to try and I will be back! Dress code is a little unknown, some diners were dressed nicer and others were in sweatpants. Not sure what the vibe is for the evening. I was so excited to see a new restaurant like Banjara, open up in the neighborhood and it did not disappoint! From the moment you walk in, the decor is stunning and thoughtfully designed. The atmosphere is modern yet comfortable, perfect for a nice dinner out. Everything we tried was packed with flavor. We got the Kaala Jaadu and the Gulaabo (mocktails) for drinks , and both were amazing. For our food, every dish was a standout. The Banjara Tikka was unbelievably juicy and flavorful, the Dahi ke Kebab was a true work of art, and the Keema Pao was simply delish. We finished with the Rose Kulfi, which was such an elegant and delicious dessert. You can really taste the quality and care in every single bite. The staff was also incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even better. This place is a true gem--it honestly feels like one of the gourmet restaurants you'd find in the city. I went to Banjara last night and was there at the same time as the prior reviewer and thanks to him we had to eat at the bar however they had 4 empty tables waiting for them to show up at 7pm. However Aakash and team took care of us with great hospitality. All the food we had was delicious, fresh and extremely flavorful. We had the Chicken Bao, Techa Keema and the Litti Chokha with the 50 shades of paan and mango lassi for drinks. I would definitely go here again. What the prior reviewer failed to include in his review was that he and 7 of his party was 45 minutes late. Every month we go to a different restaurant throughout Long Island to experience fine cuisine.Banjara was this month's 's restaurant choice and was it one heck of a choice. I have eaten and enjoyed and didn't quit saying for majority of my life, with that being said, banja cooked dishes that I've never tasted or heard of prior. This restaurant is not your typical Indian cuisine. The chef takes pride in the offering dishes from all of India, both North Central and South. The chef's a true culinary Master of his craft. The staff was extremely friendly and engaging. The vibe was positive and welcoming and great listening music as well. I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so disappointing and disrespectful that I feel obligated to share it so others are aware. On February 24th, I placed an evening order from Banjara (Bethpage) via Uber Eats. The food quality was honestly unacceptable. The dal makhani was extremely oily, completely bland, and lacked any authentic flavor. The bread was burnt to the point of being inedible shocking considering they charge around $6 for bread and nearly $20 for the dal. What disappointed me more is what happened next. I'm not someone who rushes to leave negative reviews or file refund complaints. I prefer giving restaurants a chance to correct their mistakes, so I called them the following day and calmly shared feedback. The manager acknowledged the issue and offered to compensate with dal on my next order. However, when I went in today to pick up that order, the situation turned completely unprofessional. A staff member named Akash argued that the photo I showed wasn't even their food - despite clear proof including Uber Eats order details, timestamps, and prior communication with their manager. Instead of handling it respectfully, he spoke rudely, dismissed my concern, and then said something I've never experienced at any restaurant: that I should not place future orders with them because I had complained about the food. To make things worse, he claimed this message was coming from the manager over the phone. This is not just poor customer service , it's outright disrespectful. Even small roadside eateries handle feedback with more professionalism than this. I have attached clear screenshots of the food along with complete order details for full transparency. The images include visible timestamps and dates, which directly match the timing of my Uber Eats order clearly confirming that the food shown is from this restaurant. I gain nothing from posting this in fact I made a genuine effort to resolve this privately first. However, the way I was treated speaks volumes about their attitude toward customers. Based on this experience, I would not be surprised if I either receive no response to this review or an equally rude and unprofessional one. If you value basic respect and quality food, I would strongly suggest thinking twice before ordering from here. This place is a hidden gem!!! Starting with the presentation of each dish was impressive and the flavors were just as good. The tiger shrimp was huge, perfectly cooked, and had the right amount of spice. The Banjara Tikka came out sizzling and added such a fun touch to the experience.
