I came here last week for an event, and got to enjoy basically a tasting menu of sorts. This menu took Indian flavors on a seriously fun ride. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. And as someone who historically doesn't like anything rose flavored, I enjoyed both the drink AND the dessert. Just as good as the food, was the service. It is definitely a spot that should not be missed. read more

Banjara was definitely an experience, and of the most elite ones that I have had Every dish had a signature way of being presented and definitely a tasty way to make its way to our hearts (and belly may I add) We did, of course, family style and got to try each dish, from its beginning to the end the place deserves a 5 star review . The servers were spectacular, super attentive and diligent with all of our requests The atmosphere is cozy and clean, I feel if this place was a little bigger it would be packed at all times I would definitely recommend coming here and trying each of the dishes, they are made with love and care read more

Such a hidden gem in Long Island!! It sits in a strip mall, so you would think this NYC-like restaurant would be found here. Banjara understood the assignment. The flavors are bold, authentic, and consistently well-executed. Everything tastes deeply spiced without being overwhelming. From rich curries to perfectly cooked breads, it's comfort food done right. And the presentation is just 10/10. read more

4.5 stars! Visited on a Friday night for dinner. It is a little cozy (tight) inside - so be sure to make a reservation. Favorites included the lamb chops, the boursin potatoes were beyond delicious. And the amul stuffed paratha. Chicken biryani and Chicken tandoori were middle of the road. Skip the cranberry malai kofta and the cauliflower 65 is not for the weak. Everything was beautifully plated, maybe a little theatrical for my taste - smoke coloshes, chicken being lit on fire. There's a lot more on menu I want to try and I will be back! Dress code is a little unknown, some diners were dressed nicer and others were in sweatpants. Not sure what the vibe is for the evening. Service, they were quick to clear (not finished) dishes but left waters unfilled until asked but attentive enough for a small space. read more

I was so excited to see a new restaurant like Banjara, open up in the neighborhood and it did not disappoint! From the moment you walk in, the decor is stunning and thoughtfully designed. The atmosphere is modern yet comfortable, perfect for a nice dinner out. Everything we tried was packed with flavor. We got the Kaala Jaadu and the Gulaabo (mocktails) for drinks , and both were amazing. For our food, every dish was a standout. The Banjara Tikka was unbelievably juicy and flavorful, the Dahi ke Kebab was a true work of art, and the Keema Pao was simply delish. We finished with the Rose Kulfi, which was such an elegant and delicious dessert. You can really taste the quality and care in every single bite. The staff was also incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even better. This place is a true gem--it honestly feels like one of the gourmet restaurants you'd find in the city. We are so glad to have a spot like this on Long Island now! I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu! read more

Really not a great experience overall and I definitely don't see us going back which is sad because I had been wanting to go here for a few months now. The service was terrible. One person running the whole room who was the host, bartender, busboy and waiter so we were definitely being patient throughout the night as the service was slow. We received our spicy chicken appetizer before any water. But that wasn't even my biggest issue. Main problem was the amount of times we heard the word "no." No to wanting to sit in a booth (only 2 other tables sitting at the time). He told us there was a reservation for the booth that had no one ever show up for. The whole dinning room only had 2 other tables that were occupied the whole time we were there. And we were there till almost 10:00 pm. He said "no" to ordering a drink without the mezcal in it. He said no to adjusting spice level of the biryani from mild to medium. And I couldn't keep up after that but the no's kept coming. It was on the later side, my daughter was hungry so we just stuck with it unfortunately. Food was mediocre. Some good items some worse. The chicken biriyani had way too much masala on the bottom. The ratio was off completely between the rice and chicken. The firey chicken appetizer was good. The chicken tikka masala entrée came out wayyyy too spicy. And my husband loves spicy but he was literally sweating through the meal. The waiter did offer to change it but at that point we wanted to just finish and leave. He did give us 3 of the rose kulfie's to compensate for the u reasonably spicy chicken, which was the best part of the whole meal. The shrimp in my daughter's noodles were overcooked but the noodles were ok. Sadly this was our anniversary dinner. Such a disappointment! We should have gone to Baijaan like we were originally planning to! read more

Amazing fusion North Indian place to try . Their calamari pepper is spicy and packs a punch, the chaat could improve, the hunter chilli chicken bai bun has the perfect spice not overpowering. Nalli Nihari is percent blend of spice and tenderness, the naans are well cooked , the chicken champaran is made in the traditional way The fusion desert is worth trying read more

We had the pleasure of returning to Banjara for brunch, and they truly never miss! From the moment we sat down, everything -- the atmosphere, the service, and of course, the food -- was incredible. We started with their chai and mango lassi, both classics and perfectly done -- creamy, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The Four Seasons appetizer was a fun way to kick things off, followed by the chapli burger and achari paneer, which had such a rich, smoky flavor and beautiful presentation. The lamb shank was easily one of the standout dishes -- tender, savory, and full of spice that paired perfectly with warm roti. And for dessert, their tres leches cake was the perfect ending -- so moist and light, we're already craving it again. Banjara continues to impress us every visit. If you're looking for a brunch spot that blends incredible Indian flavors with creative presentation, this is your sign to visit Banjara in Bethpage. read more

I went to Banjara last night and was there at the same time as the prior reviewer and thanks to him we had to eat at the bar however they had 4 empty tables waiting for them to show up at 7pm. However Aakash and team took care of us with great hospitality. All the food we had was delicious, fresh and extremely flavorful. We had the Chicken Bao, Techa Keema and the Litti Chokha with the 50 shades of paan and mango lassi for drinks. I would definitely go here again. What the prior reviewer failed to include in his review was that he and 7 of his party was 45 minutes late. Im guessing he probably failed to mention when reserving was that it was for a birthday and would need more than 2 hours. Aakash was extremely professional handling the situation. read more

Banjara - Margarita, Indian style. - Indian Near Me - Bethpage, New York

I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so disappointing and disrespectful that I feel obligated to share it so others are aware. On February 24th, I placed an evening order from Banjara (Bethpage) via Uber Eats. The food quality was honestly unacceptable. The dal makhani was extremely oily, completely bland, and lacked any authentic flavor. The bread was burnt to the point of being inedible shocking considering they charge around $6 for bread and nearly $20 for the dal. What disappointed me more is what happened next. I'm not someone who rushes to leave negative reviews or file refund complaints. I prefer giving restaurants a chance to correct their mistakes, so I called them the following day and calmly shared feedback. The manager acknowledged the issue and offered to compensate with dal on my next order. However, when I went in today to pick up that order, the situation turned completely unprofessional. A staff member named Akash argued that the photo I showed wasn't even their food - despite clear proof including Uber Eats order details, timestamps, and prior communication with their manager. Instead of handling it respectfully, he spoke rudely, dismissed my concern, and then said something I've never experienced at any restaurant: that I should not place future orders with them because I had complained about the food. To make things worse, he claimed this message was coming from the manager over the phone. This is not just poor customer service , it's outright disrespectful. Even small roadside eateries handle feedback with more professionalism than this. I have attached clear screenshots of the food along with complete order details for full transparency. The images include visible timestamps and dates, which directly match the timing of my Uber Eats order clearly confirming that the food shown is from this restaurant. I gain nothing from posting this in fact I made a genuine effort to resolve this privately first. However, the way I was treated speaks volumes about their attitude toward customers. Based on this experience, I would not be surprised if I either receive no response to this review or an equally rude and unprofessional one. If you value basic respect and quality food, I would strongly suggest thinking twice before ordering from here. Honestly, people should instead try the restaurant next door, Atithi -- the owner personally handles the restaurant and is extremely respectful, which makes a huge difference in the overall experience. read more

This place is a hidden gem!!! Starting with the presentation of each dish was impressive and the flavors were just as good. The tiger shrimp was huge, perfectly cooked, and had the right amount of spice. The Banjara Tikka came out sizzling and added such a fun touch to the experience. I also loved the butter chicken with rice and the butter naan so flavorful and comforting. The Gulabo cocktail was really and the rose kulfi was cute for dessert. The restaurant itself is beautiful, the service was attentive, and overall it felt like a complete dining experience. Definitely worth the visit I'll be back soon! read more

My wife and I were invited to this fine Indian cuisine via a society we belong to called the Dead Chef Society. Every month we go to a different restaurant throughout Long Island to experience fine cuisine.Banjara was this month's 's restaurant choice and was it one heck of a choice. I have eaten and enjoyed and didn't quit saying for majority of my life, with that being said, banja cooked dishes that I've never tasted or heard of prior. This restaurant is not your typical Indian cuisine. The chef takes pride in the offering dishes from all of India, both North Central and South. The chef's a true culinary Master of his craft. The staff was extremely friendly and engaging. The vibe was positive and welcoming and great listening music as well. In the background, a venue was sold out and Evie custom mod left with a smile on their face and full. I highly recommend Banjara for Indian cuisine and a nice night out. Great job chef!! HOOAH! Steven. read more

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and modern atmosphere that feels like a slice of New York City right here on Long Island. As someone who loves dining at Indian restaurants in the city, I was pleasantly surprised to find that BANJARA captures that same vibrant energy and level of quality without the commute. The cocktail menu immediately stood out. These aren't your typical bar drinks--they're creative, refreshing, and beautifully balanced. The staff went out of their way to find a cocktail that suited my taste, and I ended up loving it. It's rare to find a place that gives that much attention to pairing drinks with the meal. We tried a mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, and every plate offered its own distinct flavor profile. The spices were layered and nuanced without being overpowering, and each dish tasted freshly prepared with care. From the appetizers to the mains, everything had that authentic touch that's often hard to find outside the city. BANJARA isn't just another Indian restaurant--it's an experience. Whether you're looking for a casual dinner, a night out with friends, or just a great cocktail and flavorful meal, this is the place to go. Bethpage finally has its own restaurant that delivers a true city vibe right in the neighborhood. read more

Food was decent but small place where they overbook. Food came out late and service is poor. Due to overbooking, they gave us a time limit to leave. Had 20 minutes to devour and not even asked to do dessert. Waitress came three times at 9:45 asking us to pay. Who does that? All the dining we have experienced, this is a first. Service is key to this business. Just horrible experience. When i spoke to the manager, he didn't even apologize and didn't seem to care. Just shows their level of service. I wish them well. Just wanted to post this read more

From the moment we walked in, we felt a great energy. The attentive waiter politely asked about our drinks, giving us ample time to choose. As an appetizer, we ordered exquisite lamb chops cooked with spices on a bed of yogurt and various mild spices. Neither the dairy nor the spices overpowered the flavor of the perfectly cooked lamb chops, cooked to perfection. And the presentation was superb; when they arrived at our table, they were covered with a glass lid, preserving all the aroma of the meat. For our main course, we opted for something simple: chicken, which was also cooked very subtly but with distinct flavors. As our meal ended, my wife mentioned it was our anniversary, even though we declined. We moved on to dessert. They very graciously didn't want our day to pass without celebrating, so they brought a delicious dessert. read more
