Such a hidden gem in Long Island!! It sits in a strip mall, so you would think this NYC-like restaurant would be found here. Banjara understood the assignment. The flavors are bold, authentic, and consistently well-executed. Everything tastes deeply spiced without being overwhelming. From rich curries to perfectly cooked breads, it's comfort food done right. And the presentation is just 10/10.

Amazing fusion North Indian place to try . Their calamari pepper is spicy and packs a punch, the chaat could improve, the hunter chilli chicken bai bun has the perfect spice not overpowering. Nalli Nihari is percent blend of spice and tenderness, the naans are well cooked , the chicken champaran is made in the traditional way The fusion desert is worth trying

Loved the food here , great vibes . Service was good and presentation was even better . Long Island needed a fine dining Indian restaurant!! We tried a bunch of apps , gol gappay to lamb chops everything was good and worth the price. Now on to the main course , you know butter chicken is a must all the time . They have different naan to pair it with , like truffle cheese naan . Amazing

I was so excited to see a new restaurant like Banjara, open up in the neighborhood and it did not disappoint! From the moment you walk in, the decor is stunning and thoughtfully designed. The atmosphere is modern yet comfortable, perfect for a nice dinner out. Everything we tried was packed with flavor. We got the Kaala Jaadu and the Gulaabo (mocktails) for drinks , and both were amazing. For our food, every dish was a standout. The Banjara Tikka was unbelievably juicy and flavorful, the Dahi ke Kebab was a true work of art, and the Keema Pao was simply delish. We finished with the Rose Kulfi, which was such an elegant and delicious dessert. You can really taste the quality and care in every single bite. The staff was also incredibly welcoming and attentive, which made the experience even better. This place is a true gem--it honestly feels like one of the gourmet restaurants you'd find in the city. We are so glad to have a spot like this on Long Island now! I'll definitely be back to explore more of the menu!

Quick update: if you can't find the time to head to Banjara or having difficulty getting a reservation try their fab butter chicken via an Uber Eats order. They happen to be running a few deals 2 for 1 etc right now. Enjoy!

Attached: same-day screenshot with date and time matching the Uber Eats order--proving Akash's claim is false.

I rarely write reviews, but this experience was so disappointing and disrespectful that I feel obligated to share it so others are aware. On February 24th, I placed an evening order from Banjara (Bethpage) via Uber Eats. The food quality was honestly unacceptable. The dal makhani was extremely oily, completely bland, and lacked any authentic flavor. The bread was burnt to the point of being inedible shocking considering they charge around $6 for bread and nearly $20 for the dal. What disappointed me more is what happened next. I'm not someone who rushes to leave negative reviews or file refund complaints. I prefer giving restaurants a chance to correct their mistakes, so I called them the following day and calmly shared feedback. The manager acknowledged the issue and offered to compensate with dal on my next order. However, when I went in today to pick up that order, the situation turned completely unprofessional. A staff member named Akash argued that the photo I showed wasn't even their food - despite clear proof including Uber Eats order details, timestamps, and prior communication with their manager. Instead of handling it respectfully, he spoke rudely, dismissed my concern, and then said something I've never experienced at any restaurant: that I should not place future orders with them because I had complained about the food. To make things worse, he claimed this message was coming from the manager over the phone. This is not just poor customer service , it's outright disrespectful. Even small roadside eateries handle feedback with more professionalism than this. I have attached clear screenshots of the food along with complete order details for full transparency. The images include visible timestamps and dates, which directly match the timing of my Uber Eats order clearly confirming that the food shown is from this restaurant. I gain nothing from posting this in fact I made a genuine effort to resolve this privately first. However, the way I was treated speaks volumes about their attitude toward customers. Based on this experience, I would not be surprised if I either receive no response to this review or an equally rude and unprofessional one. If you value basic respect and quality food, I would strongly suggest thinking twice before ordering from here. Honestly, people should instead try the restaurant next door, Atithi -- the owner personally handles the restaurant and is extremely respectful, which makes a huge difference in the overall experience.

Food was excellent , shrimp malai curry was mouth watering . ambience was aesthetically pleasing . The staff is friendly . The service is a bit slow though . The rose kulfi dessert was so creamy and delicious

Margarita, Indian style.

Excellent and unique dishes, great service, nice ambiance, alcohol is served. We will definitely be back!

We had the pleasure of returning to Banjara for brunch, and they truly never miss! From the moment we sat down, everything -- the atmosphere, the service, and of course, the food -- was incredible. We started with their chai and mango lassi, both classics and perfectly done -- creamy, flavorful, and just the right amount of sweetness. The Four Seasons appetizer was a fun way to kick things off, followed by the chapli burger and achari paneer, which had such a rich, smoky flavor and beautiful presentation. The lamb shank was easily one of the standout dishes -- tender, savory, and full of spice that paired perfectly with warm roti. And for dessert, their tres leches cake was the perfect ending -- so moist and light, we're already craving it again. Banjara continues to impress us every visit. If you're looking for a brunch spot that blends incredible Indian flavors with creative presentation, this is your sign to visit Banjara in Bethpage.

Unassuming would be the correct word, in a strip mall where years ago we must have visited for one of the original AYCE sushi places. More recently, there was a pub that had live music. You may know it as the strip with the Post Office & Bottle Values (what I picture a liquor store in the former USSR feeling like. Lee & I made the mistake of not heading East into Carle Place/Garden City for a celebratory cocktail, we attempted to try The Foundry in Hicksville, but that was incredibly short lived. Pearl Kitchen & Cocktails turned out to be a nice choice. I enjoyed a Bee's Knees, perfectly made in a Nick & Nora glass (a way to place less spirits than a coupe) and Lee enjoyed a Mezcal concoction on the rocks which he enjoyed. We had some fabulous Mussels in a white broth and the Thai Calamari with peanut dressing. Both memorable. The owners are not novice restaurateurs. I believe if this is correct, one is of KYMA and the other was somewhere that I was familiar with the bunch of names. We would return, yes..but the overall setting and vibe was true to a strip mall. Lots of parking though !

This place is described as tapas-style, so some dishes are on the smaller size, but the more expensive dishes are full portion: the burger, chicken, pasta w/crab, etc. Seems they also change their menu very regularly, as I saw some fantastic looking things in the pictures here, none of which were on the menu. On the more expensive side price wise, and there is a full bar and bourbon selection to punch it higher. Tried a few things, some I'd skip if I came back, but also a few things I'd like to try that I didn't get to. Skippables include the Gouda Gruyères: onion soubise and the cacio e pepe, both underwhelming and more expensive than it should have been. I also tried the gem salad, chicken wings, the rigatoni with sausage and broccoli rabe, and the flan for dessert. Flavors were good, the wings were very heavy on the salt but had good flavor, and everything else was covered in tons of cheese, from the salad to the pasta, it was a lot. Service was quick, waitress friendly. People in the area seem to absolutely love this place and overhearing people talk, there's nothing bad on the menu, and the corn agnolotti was delicious (I was sad to have changed my order, this is what I was originally going to get). Interested in seeing a fall menu for this place!
