This Glen Cove locations is lovely; beautiful murals and great vibes. I was shocked and sad to see it so empty on a Saturday evening! I hope more people give this place a chance because the food and service is great! This was our Shared Menu (plenty for 2ppl, and we had leftovers): -- Water Buffalo Momos w.Chili Sauce (8pcs/$18): the Momos were tasty; the meat was very lean. I would skip the Chili sauce next time. I didn't like the sweet and sour taste of the sauce, so next time I'd like to try the steamed Momos with Johl sauce instead. -- Choila Roti "Not a Taco" with Jackfruit (2pcs/$12): Not a Taco but similar to a taco. This was delicious and I'd get this again. We choice the Jackfruit version but they also have a chicken version. -- Masala Wings (Sauteed wet version) (4pcs/$11): I remember really liking the wings when I was at the Ridgewood location but couldn't recall which wings we had. On this visit, we had the wet version which was good but I realized that I like their dry version better. -- Grilled Lamb Chops w.Timur Sauce, Veggies & white rice (2pcs/$25): Surprisingly, this was my least fave dish of the night. I normally love lamb chops but these chops didn't really have a nice seared taste to them. The texture was a little off for me. Also, it was very boney with not much meat. I would try another entree next time. All in all, a good meal! I found the large selection of appetizers more interesting than the entrees, and would have been happy just sharing a bunch of appetizers and small plates. We came here on Saturday night and when I arrived the restaurant was packed. Despite that we never felt rushed, they were well staffed and worked together as a well oiled machine to make the experience flawless. The weather was perfect so we sat outside, there is ample parking either in their parking lot or across the street. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with hand blown glass chandeliers from Turkey. For the sake of brevity I'm going to list all the dishes we had. Each one had its own unique flavor down to the Lavos Hollow bread with its slightly buttery flavor. You have to try each one. Prices are very fair and portions are great. We had the eggplant with tomato sauce, Turkish Ezme, Calves liver cubes, a large Shepherd salad, for appetizers. For entrees we had two of the Bronzino, the Shrimp Shish, and the Lamb Shish. For desert we had the Chocolate Baklava, the Kunefe, the Turkish coffee, and a of the Apple tea. Ali made a couple of special dishes including an eggplant dish and home made hot Halvah for desert. It's amazing how small the world really is. My friends thought they knew the owner Ali but could not pinpoint from where. After talking for a while they realized they knew him from when he worked at another Turkish restaurant in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn called Liman. It has since moved to Coney Island. Ali opened Bosporus Cafe Grill in Port Washington in 2014 and I'm am glad he took the risk to go out on his own. His business partner is the chef and is also a butcher. They've combined their talents to provide one of the best restaurants experiences you will ever have. I've been coming here for several years and it never gets old. I highly recommend them for great food, service and atmosphere. There's a lot to see in Port Washington and you can take a stroll by the water afterwards.

When you go to a tavern, you typically expect rustic comfort food in a decent portion size at an affordable price. Everything here is a-la carte despite the $17 (burger) to $31 (flank steak) entree price with sides (side portion sizes amount for one to two people) running you an additional $11 to $12. The appetizers, which will run you between $12 and $17, are also small in portion size. For appetizers, we ordered the shrimpcargot for $17 which was maybe 6 small shrimp but you mostly tasted lemon and dill more than you tasted any garlic herb butter and the small pieces of toast that comes with the dish. I've had escargot multiple times previously and would rather have that than the shrimpcargot again. We also ordered the gyoza, which only included four small dumplings for $12, and a special they had for Pork Belly Bao Buns, which only came two to an order and the piece of pork inside was quite small (the flavor was decent though). For entrees, we ordered the Cedar Plank Salmon, the Roasted Chicken, the Country Pork Chop, and special Halibut they had on the board. Out of these dishes, only the pork chop ($29) and the salmon ($24) seemed to be a decent portion size for what they included without any sides. The special Halibut, which was $38, was quite a small piece and included nothing else other than the brown butter sauce it was in. The Roasted Chicken had two small breasts of chicken included, not even half a small chicken for $24. The a-la carte entrees are not enough for one person so for sides, we ordered the jasmine rice ($12), the brussels sprouts ($12), the harissa roasted carrots ($12), and the mac and cheese ($11). Out of all of these, I only thought the roasted carrots had a very nice flavor with the yogurt and spice they are paired with. The mac and cheese (without bacon) was bland as was the rice, and the brussels sprouts were dry with a need for some type of sweetener such as honey. Altogether, for four, the total bill with tax before tip for us was $220, quite high when you're just looking for a casual dinner at a local place. If the portion sizes were slightly larger or included sides, and the pricing was more reasonable (not including drinks), this tavern would be worth the re-visit but this could've been better.

The meat was so tender, the gravy was rich and flavorful, and the Khameeri Roti had the perfect balance of softness and slight crunch. It also came with Lasooni Aloo and Raita, both of which were packed with flavor. From rich and smoky to spicy, tangy, creamy, and refreshing. Banjara Tikka brought tender chicken thighs layered with yogurt, fried onion and garlic. Mauryaji Basket Chaat delivered chickpeas, potato, tamarind, mint, pomegranate and a creamy yogurt mousse. The Chicken Seekh Kebab was perfectly seasoned and savory with pickled laccha onion, while the Guntur Chilli Chicken Bao turned up the heat with Guntur red chili, sesame and refreshing beetroot shikanji shots. The vegetarian dishes absolutely held their own as well. Chilli Momo with carrot, sesame and seaweed, came out with a soft, delicate bite and a subtle chew, filled with a lightly spiced vegetable mix that leaned savory and aromatic rather than overpowering heat. The Paneer Makhni was rich, velvety, and deeply comforting. The paneer stayed soft and pillowy, soaking up a buttery tomato-cashew gravy that was slightly sweet, gently tangy, and finished with that unmistakable fenugreek aroma that tied everything together. The mains were just as unforgettable. Laal Maas came in bold and unapologetic. Tender goat slow-cooked until it practically melted off the bone, swimming in a deep, smoky gravy built on mathania chilies that brought slow heat. The Shrimp Malai Curry was the complete opposite in tone. Silky coconut milk wrapped around plump tiger shrimp, with Bengali whole spices adding a gentle sweetness and aromatic depth that made the dish feel light yet indulgent at the same time. And somehow dessert still had room to impress. Rose Kulfi was creamy, floral and sweet without being overwhelming. Drinks included everything from the floral, mezcal-and-rooza Gulabo to Mango Lassi. He said no to adjusting spice level of the biryani from mild to medium. And I couldn't keep up after that but the no's kept coming.
